Deathly Hallows cast & crew pay tribute for Remembrance Day on Hogwarts set
This past Tuesday marked Remembrance Day in the UK, where many people around the country stood in silence for two minutes at 11am to show respect for those lost during World War I and subsequent battles. The cast and crew for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows were no exception to this. One of the crew members, called Jamie, sent a text to BBC Radio 5 Live on November 11th, stating the following:
Quote:
We're currently filming the final battle sequence of the last Harry Potter film, and we stopped for two minutes this morning. It was very eerie. It was thought-provoking, in the mists, along the ruins of Hogwarts.
The audio can be heard on the BBC's website here (skip to about 1:51 hours), or listen below:
That's amazing of them to do. I didn't actually think about what they would do on Remembrance Day. I think it's also very... ironic, maybe? that they were filming FInal Battle scenes on that day. It must have looked very eerie.
Where I live, Remembrance Day is to remember specifically those from WWI, but we also pay tribute to any and all soldiers who have fought and/or died during war. We shouldn't even have Remembrance Day, because we should be thinking of them and praying for them every day, not just one day every 365 days. But I think it is a good holiday to get people to think about it a little more.
that was very nice. that would have been an interesting spot to have it too, with the hogwarts battle remains and the thought of soldiers who had given their lives for the country.
sorry to be picky, but it's in rememberance of soldiers lost in all conflicts from ww1 until this current day. And taking photos during the two minute silence would, i imagine be deemed inappropriate.
Edited to reflect that

I wonder how are they filming the battle sequence without Emma? Do you maybe know?
It's not as if she's in every scene. She'll do her bits during the holidays.
I never got to do it at work, since the fire alarm went off, .
