In a new interview with Surrey Online, Chris Rankin has spoken about his character, Percy Weasley, in regards to ' Order of the Phoenix' as well as reflecting on his experiences in the Potter franchise. Quote:
"Over the course of the films, he's [Percy's] gone from being a stuck-up, poncey prefect to quite a nasty piece of work," says Rankin.
"My character didn't appear in the last film but, when he makes his return in the next one, he starts to become really obnoxious.
"By that stage, of course, he's working for the Ministry of Magic and he's become so power-hungry that he'll step on anyone to get where he wants.
"And let's just say that the Minister for Magic, Mr Crouch, has his shoes well and truly kissed!"
Chris also talks about what he'd like to see happen to Percy in the last book; "Obviously, for my part, I'm hoping that Percy's descent into evil will continue, and by the end, he'll be Voldemort's second in command, or something like that."

I couldn't agree more with the "nasty piece of work" comment. Of all the characters in the books, I don't think any of them tick me off more than Percy...except maybe Umbridge...but that's beside the point. Anyway, the way he sucks up to his superiors makes me want to puke. I can't stand suck-ups. >_O; But as annoying as he is, somehow I don't think he'll actually knowingly do anything to help Voldemort... | |
