It is being reported today that vandals, thought to be as young as 10, have caused £50,000 ($98,455.27) worth of damage to train carriages used in the Harry Potter films, which were being kept at West Coast Railway depot at the former Steamtown site in Carnforth. They apparently used hammers intended for emergencies to smash the windows. A gang of six were seen by locals as they ran off. Quote:
Patricia Marshall, managing director of West Coast Railway, said: "It will take at least a month to repair, because so much damage was caused."
It is thought the repair work might lead to people being laid off. Quote:
"It all depends how fast the repairs can be carried out," Mrs Marshall said. "If we can't meet our contract commitments then we might have to lose some employees.
"This isn't just material damage we are talking about – it's long lasting to the company."
A reward is being offered by the police for anyone who can help them with their enquiries as to what happened on March 10th.

i think that was ignorant that they did that to that poor train i burst into anger when i heard about the damage done to Hogwarts Express the kids who did it have to pay for it now because it affected all of the harry potter fans including me . i would never do such a thing like that .
