(Click image for larger version.)On a raised dais situated at the farthest point of the Great Hall stands a long table where the members of the Hogwarts staff sit and enjoy their meal while casting a watchful eye out on the four House tables. Each staff member has an assigned, cushioned chair to sit on throughout the duration of the feast, though the more notable out of them all is the throne-like golden chair in the centre reserved for the headmaster.
Keep in mind that you should not be wandering up to the staff table if you are not a staff member before Headmaster Winterbottom has delivered his speech. Doing so may result in the loss of house points or other appropriate consequence before you even make it back to the dorms. If you wish to speak with someone who is seated up here, you will have to wait until after the speech has been said and there is food and drink on all of the tables. Make sure to keep your visit brief though -- the staff were also waiting on the food to appear and are just as hungry as you.

Ean couldn't believe how fast the term had gone by, despite everything, he had a sense of longing with what would come next. Many things, some that couldn't be shared just yet as he sat in his chair in the Great Hall. First, Jan, and now Idris would be graduating now and in just two more years will be Zen's turn. It wasn't that long ago when the three of them were sneaking out at night to spend time at his previous home in her footie pajamas and all as little kids.
Before he could fully invest in those heartwarming feelings, he took a sip from his goblet. Now to wait on the others arriving.
Kraetos arrived, no cheetos dust in sight, yes, he knew how to keep clean, but curbing an appetiate was difficult without having some snacks. Today, it was cheez-its, which he had finished snacking on before he parked down in his seat after making the rounds greeting everyone.
"What a year." He had to admit. Turning to see his seat companions, thoughts and wishes for the future, perhaps?

Dhruv was right behind Ean, thoughts whirring about in their brain but quite aware that all was right in their world. That made them happy. Or happier one could say. The feeling couldn’t pick a better evening to surface. The professor took their assigned seat after which they carefully arranged their robes around themself. Almost automatically, their eyes glided in the direction of the Slytherin table - which was filling up fast in their opinion. It didn’t matter to Dhruv that the House hadn’t secured any of the three Cups; just that their Snakes had done their best.
The arrival of Kraetos interrupted the thoughts. During the time they had known the CoMC professor, Cheetos dust had been a seemingly steadfast friend of his. It was clearly different this evening. “Indeed. A quiet one but still full of adventures.” Dhruv was slightly paraphrasing a certain Gryffindor’s words there. “And now we get to enjoy the feast.’’ They discreetly and almost absently and gently patted their tummy. Their appetite was quite ferocious.
Sarika seemed to be radiating extra energy that evening. “Hello, everyone,’’ she greeted brightly. There was a wide smile for everyone gathered at the table so far. However, when she spotted a cheese dust-free Karetos, the woman could not help herself. “Had I known you were out of Cheetos, I would have brought you a few packs.” Chuckling, she went on to greet Ean and Dhruv and everyone else. Only then did she make her way to her own seat. She hoped to have a peaceful evening. | |
