The meeting was beginning and Daisy was getting a bit of a crash course in previous goings on at the Ministry.
Joke toilets? What even?
Slightly confused, she listened to what the others around her had to say on the matter. Personally she didn't see why anyone would want to travel to work using something like a toilet - rather unhygienic sounding. However, she was new here and still not too familiar with the way things worked here. That was why she had given herself a bit of a tour of the work areas earlier.
For the moment she would remain silent on the matter.

"I like the idea of the parking garage. Not sure about the specifics really, but at least we would have a more credible excuse to enter the place in large numbers." He tapped his notebook ready to hear what the others had to say.
"How are the lines getting out of hand when so many people apparently don't use them at all, judging by the responses here just now?" Rusty asked, leaning forward slightly.
It wasn't as if there weren't multiple options for accessing the ministry, but for some, the toilets were a useful method, and they weren't the slightest bit unhygenic given they weren't real toilets at all, so he wasn't sure where that particular opinion came from.
"As Oakey said, after the cost and man - and woman- hours," because he figured he'd get a glare from Marilyn and Eliora if he didn't sound inclusive, "decomissioning the toilets entirely seems like a waste of money. What if they are simply re-purposed to a degree? By that I mean, if the toilet route is used as additional visitor's entrance to the ministry rather than an employee entrance? If we're worried about queues," A nod to that Gallowglass dude, "Then that's somewhere I've definitely seen plenty of people waiting, and queues for a telephone booth when there are others a short walk away risk catching too much attention too."
So there was that. At least a constructive suggestion right?
As for this parking garage idea, he wasn't so sure about that one. He looked apologetically at the people who had been talking about it, and then at Aron, "I don't know that a parking garage is a particularly feasible idea either. Space is at a premium, and then you have the added problem of parking garages generally requiring muggle vehicles for access, and that isn't exactly a common thing amongst our kind," Even if some people had them, "Not to mention Whitehall is all protected heritage buildings and parks, and the Muggle government has undertaken quite stringent security measures to protect the area all above us. There's no chance of building above us or changing the physical infrastructure of the Muggle government buildings." It would, in short, cause far more trouble than it was worth at great risk to the statute, unfortunately.
Aaaand he was just going to eat some pastries now, don't mind him.

Gallowglass cleared his throat, considering the points given by the man that defended the system implanted at the moment.
"Yes, from what we can see here not many people use them. But we're a handful on a work environment of hundreds. I didn't use it today, but I've used it before and there is always a line of 3/4 people outside each stool." he scratched his chin " I mean, you have to go into the bathroom, stay in line, get in your compartment, close the door for good measure, get into the toilet and then finally flush yourself." he counted by his fingers, those were many steps.
"Wouldn't it be easier if he had a system that was based in simply opening a door and entering?" he wondered. He had seen it working before, it was quite simple really. Not to mention the hygienic question. He knew those toilets were transformed only for that purpose, but something inside of him kept yelling that it was unsanitary as hell. Toilets are for potty. Nothing else. "Plus, we should have a more dignificant way of getting to work other than getting into a toilet.."
Yes he understood the money, the work and everything else, but the department head, Mr. Ashburry-Hawthorne seemed to consider it, and if it was an option he was totally in to change it.
He then paused and considered the relocation of the enchanted toilets, yes that could work. That way they wouldn't be waisting money but widening the range of options to get into the ministry, and allowing to even maybe create a separate entrance only for guests.
"I like that" Gallow agreed smirking at his colleague "Re-purpose the toilets seems like a very good suggestion really. That way all the work wouldn't have been in vain and we would be expanding the entrances." He kept silent about the parking garage. He knew the specifics would be tricky and at the moment he didn't have anything useful to offer, so he kept quiet.

Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.
All Oakey could do at this point was pinch the bridge of his nose and make a grimacing expression on his face. He looked over at Gallowglass and the others who were still vying for a change to difficult to perform.
The only light to this whole argument was that Rusty had his side. "I'm with Rusty on this. A Parking Garage would cause way more trouble than Joke Toilets. We can't risk any kind of exposure to the Muggle world."
He nodded at the idea of re-purposing the toilets as well. "If that's an option." He meant for the re-purposing. "Perhaps we should bring it to Transportation that more stalls should be added as well to lessen the line.
"The steps your referring to." He brought his attention to Gallowglass. "Are extremely simple. It's not as though once they get to the Stall they're taking another 15 minutes to Open the door, and flush themselves to the Ministry."
"I agree with re-purposing the Toilet entry, but I think with the condition that more entry points be added." and no NO NO Parking Garage. Oakey's got a moped but only for when he's got to make trips into muggle London. He's got a wife and three.......................two......................ki ds who use up a lot of groceries and fast...hmmm...sad mood again. Can he stay quiet now?

Kang Micky had been sitting at the meeting for a whole time, enjoying his coffee and the cinnamon rolls that the new boss assistant had served. He had eaten two (or maybe three) cinnamon rolls while listening about the idea whether they should remove the toilet system or not.
What a very interesting topic.
"Well," The Korean man spoke up. "If we want to abolish the toilet system and replace it with--like Logan had said, parking area, the space and the concealment will be our main homework." It's not that he disagreed with those idea since himself rode a muggle motorcycle. "because one, we don't really know how many employees drive cars or ride motorcycle to the work and clearly, it's not our job to survey about that." Maybe those transportation dude could do that. "Or maybe we really need to find another system that doesn't really attract muggle's attention.." So no to the cupboard. "Like... vending machine."
He sipped his coffee for a moment then continued talking again. "Why don't we make a list why we should abolish the toilet system and why we should not to? Maybe there are some people who have no idea about the pros-cons, especially the new employees so that's why some of us haven't talked any single words yet."

Aron sat listening to the debate, opting to - instead of relying entirely on his new personal assistant - take notes himself with the help of his own enchanted quill. Giving his parchment a few glances every now and then as each employee spoke, he would shake his head at some of the words every now and then to inform the quill that it was incorrect or lacking certain details he wished to remember. Oakey, despite sounding a little bit too passionate about his apparently fondness of toilets that came out in his tone, made many valid points.
"Re-purposing is not something that had been considered," he admitted as he bit down on his thumb weighing options. "But based on what has been brought up seems like the most plausible and cost efficient means of dealing with the situation." He glanced at his notes again, certainly not sold on the parking garage for a lot of reasons - several mentioned by people already - but kept those to himself for the time being. "Let's call this discussion for now. I've got plenty of feedback to bring over to Transportation. Those of you who feel strongly on the project will be relieved to know that we will host an open forum to discuss and officially decide the fate and future of these and other potential entry points into the Ministry. We'll keep the discussion between our two departments for the time being. Volunteers for heading up certain angles of the debate are welcome to volunteer themselves now."
Oakey? Eyes on you, mate.
So let's just check that off the list for now as something to come back to later.
The Australian took another long sip from his coffee before continuing.
"We've got something rather big coming up. An International Junior Quidditch Tournament to be exact. So we have got quite the load on our hands to deal with." Understatement of the year, really. "So I need everyone to brush up on their muggle repelling skillsets. Some of you more advanced folks," he cast eyes towards the more obvious people in the room. "Should grab one of our rookies and teach them a thing or two. Well need everyone out their A game making patrols to make sure nothing goes astray. Anticipation for disaster will be key here. As out department will be needed heavily in the execution of the event, I am currently in negotiations about getting your families tickets to the event. So..." he gave Daisy Mae a quick glance at. Ready to jot it all down, yeah? "So...you'll be needing to let me know how many tickets you think you may need, excluding yourselves, so I can negotiate properly. Children under 5 I believe will have free entry."
Aaaaaaand go. He was going to sip on his coffee a bit more.

Brow raised, Daisy continued to listen to the discussion around her. There was a lot to jot down but she was blessed with a good memory and eye for detail so she was pretty sure that she got everything. Even though Aron had an enchanted quill she felt that it was a good idea to supply her own notes on top of that just to be thorough.
As that bit of business was wrapped up for the moment she moved on to writing about the next issue - Quidditch. They really DID have a lot of work cut out for them but she knew just how important the use of muggle repelling charms was. The last thing they needed was for the Wizarding world to be outed. She was muggleborn so she knew how muggles thought.
Catching the glance from Aron, she nodded. She had this covered.
Abolished or not to abolish?...That is the question. Honestly, Charles would love to get rid of the toilets. It was just too insanitary and inwardly disgusting for him to go through the 'flushing' transportation network again. Not to mention, how much trouble he had got himself into because of those bloody joke toilets! But Oakey was right. He worked hard getting the toilets in place and it would only cause unnecessary work and waste of valuable resources if they had to replace them again. So ...he was stuck on deciding which was the better option. Charles nodded at the woman who suggested of "Re-purposing" the toilets. To what exactly? Why couldn't they just own the building on top? Surely it wouldn't be too suspicious for someone to go in and out of the office. A place to sell coffee or something....merlin knows how many of his co-workers consumed these beverages each day. Especially Eliora. That woman was a coffee-addict for sure. She needed to lay off them...wait....actually no. At least, those coffees kept her sane somewhat. He voted for coffee shop.
Shrugging, he continued listening...
International Junior Quidditch Tournament...means there would be a big crowd of people attending and managing the event, he would be looking forward to screaming wizarding children running amok the place, pushy ticket holders, loud cheering and galore oh...how exciting! [Note the sarcasm] Mentally, he sighed deeply and obligingly nodded back at the boss. Great, not only that... he had to work with newbies. Simply marvelous. Well at least they got to bring their families for the one in a lifetime event. His nephew, Mathias, would love to see Quidditch up close. Why not?....He would need 4 tickets to be exact including his mother, Allie and her new boyfriend. He gave a side-glance towards Kai and wondered who she would be inviting...

Logan had thrown out the parking garage idea just as an alternative among others to consider if they did away with the toilets. He was surprised by Oakeys and Rusty's passionate talk for keeping the toilets but giving them a new purpose. What purpose that could be Logan missed or it wasn't clearly stated. Before he had a chance to ask however Aron tabled the discussion for another time. Boss man needed to discuss things with Ms Purcell, head of Transportation before the debate could continue on whether they kept or abolished the toilets all together.
Sipping quietly on his coffee Logan made big eyes as the boss man announced that a big International Junior Quidditch Tournament was coming and that they were going to be on patrol to prevent disaster and catastrophes of any kind. They were pivotal in the execution of the event and the prevention of muggle incidents. It was nice that their families would be able to enjoy the event and wouldn't need to buy tickets for the tournament. "Is there a limit to how many tickets an employee can get?" Logan asked with a glance at Aron. "I'd like 6 tickets." The last was directed towards Daisy who seemed to be tasked with making a ticket list. He knew his 4 brothers and his parents would be interested in going. Mammy and Leza and Uncle Jasper, he assumed would be working just like him.

"I am GREAT!" Zhenya replied to Megan, with a smile. It was good to be back at work. "How are you?" She had already been seated when Aron came in. She gave him a smile and a casual "Good morning," before setting her attention around the room.
Zhenya tried not to laugh at the memories of the toilet issues last year, but her face cracked into an amused smile. Ah, so they might be replacing the system? Besides more work for her, she had no opinion on the matter. She didn't use the system to arrive to work, so it wasn't a huge issue to her whether they remained or were replaced. She listened, and nodded in agreement, with Oakey. Logan's theory was... perhaps good, so long as there was enough employees who drove. Zhenya didn't have the faintest idea of how to drive a car. She raised an eyebrow at Rusty, who had apparently researched the matter in depth... or was rather passionate about the issue. Where did he even know all of this information? She couldn't seem to disagree with him, though.
And now that that was sorted, Zhenya listened to what was coming up next. Quidditch!? QUIDDITCH? And... and free tickets for the family? Zhenya's jaw dropped as she let out an extended "Wooooooooooooooooow." She was interested. She didn't think it would be Teddy's thing, but how awesome would it be to surprise Ava with a ticket! And... well, perhaps Dima and maybe Archer. So... what the heck, "Sir can I put my name down for... 6 tickets? Plus an under 5 as well." She could invite Teddy, Ava, Archer, Dima, Alana and Kenan.

The group was either for or against the removal of the toilets. Megan would hold her ground on her opinion that they must go. Remember how she had her figurative thinking cap on? Well, it was temporarily off because she was busy listening with great interest to the suggestions.
"But not everyone owns a car,'' she told Logan. "I think it would be too crowded even if everyone had one.'' Sorry, Logan. It was a nice suggestion but there were a few flaws there. A few others seemed to think the same. Hoping this wouldn't evolve to some sort of bickering, Megan sipped her coffee. Her eyes snapped back to the boss man.
What? The International Junior Quidditch Tournament? How exciting! The blond already knew that she would be brushing up on her spells. Maybe she would grab Kai later on to do this with. Zhenya too and Logan if he like. Grumpy pants Charles was not really welcome but he could come along if he wanted to.
"I only need one extra ticket, Boss man,'' Megan said him as well as Daisy. Yuna was the only family she had.
Gallowglass kept nodding and listening, finishing his second mug of coffee as he did so. His opinions were all spent up. The compromise of relocating the toilets and finding them a new purpose seemed like a reasonable idea. Reasonable enough he didn't find the need to pipe in anymore.
He than heard with a certain level of enthusiasm, about the Quidditch event. That could be much fun. Maybe he could ask someone to join him on that? Muggle repelling spells. He had practice with those, he did his own on his years on the field. He was sure he would be able to help.
"I'd like 4 tickets if you please sir." he requested, thinking about giving two to his sister and niece and the other couple so he could maybe take Meredith?

Kai gave Megan a smile and a small wink when her friend had noticed the shirt she had selected. Megan got her, yup. She turned her coffee mug to the side for the blonde to read it as well. Plants have all the anthers, was inscribed upon it. Chock full of plant humor today this one was. Not that, that was anything unusual for the toxicologist.
As for the matter at hand, she was silent. On one hand, the incident with the john's had caused her a lot of personal grief.....on the other hand....a back up system was good to have. There did seem to be a bevy of issues with this method though. Logan's idea was cute, but perhaps not truly ethical. She could drive , having a great deal of muggle influence in her life. Not many of the magical persuasion drove though and that seemed like an additional head ache of insurance and other such things. Muggle driving laws because you should be legal for both....and....she wouldn't mind but as a whole she didn't think it would work. As for closets.....where was that any better than the porcelain portals? It wouldn't be any less suspicious for people not to come out of a closet room than it would a bathroom.....besides....most people didn't pay much mind to the water closets. She had mixed feelings about ever flushing herself again but.....she didn't have a better solution to the matter so silence is all she chose.
Oh they were going to a quidditch event? That could be exciting. Extra tickets? Hmm....she considered what her family was doing during the time and felt, even a little quieter. She simply looked up at her boss politely. "I don't need any extra tickets. Thank you sir."
