Anything he would specifically like to prepare? Hmm... "Well what would you suggest?" He asked. Obviously he had no clue. Maybe cleaning sets or something? Eh, he really didn't know. However, he was sure Rae knew seeming as she worked here longer than him. Well hopefully she did. |
After finding the right owl for her Quentin moved over to the supply shelves. She picked up 3 bags of owl pellets and two jars of insects. Her new owl, who she decided to call Kyo, hooted his approval. |
Alicia walked to the supplies shelves with her new baby Spotted owl, Magellan, to see her dad picking out an insect jar and owl treats. Her brother, Corbin, was eating a bag of Every Flavor Beans when he snickered when he saw his little sister coming. "What is that?" Corbin taunted. "His name is Magellan and he is my new owl," Alicia corrected him with her nose in the air. Most of the time she tried to ignore her brother but he made it so hard sometimes. "Are you sure that's an owl? It's so small!" Corbin laughed. "He's only a baby, stupid!" Alicia snapped. "Well, when Zeus eats him, don't come crying to me," Corbin mused. Zeus was Corbin's Eagle owl. It was about six times larger than Magellan and Alicia figured that Zeus could eat her owl if he wanted. Just the thought of it happening made Alicia want to yell every rude word she knew at Corbin-- which was a lot considering he had used them on her before. "Alright, alright. That's enough," Alicia's dad confirmed. "Corbin, leave your sister alone. She can get what ever owl she wants just like you did. Now, help me carry some of this stuff." Corbin reluctantly took some of the jars out of his dad's hands as he began to walk toward the counter. Alicia had carefully began to fluff up Magellan's feathers when Corbin disturbed her again. "Hey, squirt! Where did you put dad's bag? He needs 2 more galleons!" "I can tell you where it's gonna be..." Alicia said coldly as she walked in her brother's direction. |
Taylor went over to the shelves with the snowy owl she planned to buy. She got 2 boxes of food pellets and a cuddly toy for the owl. Taylor avoided all the insects so she didnt have to be a little freaked out. She took the things and the owl to the counter. |
Walking into the owl shop, Mikey almost lost his breath. So many owls EVERYWHERE. Well, he never really had any pets, nor been close to owning one, but today Mikey was hoping to change all that. He wasn't sure which kind to buy and how to tell the males and females apart. But first, he walked over to the shelves, too see what exactly he would need in order to take care of one. Maybe owning an owl would be too messy for him. But then again, this nerd was very tidy and wouldn't let anything get dirty. Or else he would get yelled at. |

Just because his brother didn't like them and he wasn't allowed one, didn't mean Darwin wasn't allowed to look. And maybe even ask for the price of? For when he was older, of course. Spotting someone taller than him, who was obviously older than him, he reached up and tapped him on the elbow. "S'cuseeee me, sir, but how much are the BIGGGG owls?" He had to work here, right? Or was Darwin being stupid assuming that everyone taller than him worked somewhere? Hmm. |
Quote:
"But the sign says the different kind they are the their prices," he added, pointing to the rectangular sign by the counter. "So you're buying your first owl too?" |

Darwin stopped bouncing, falling back onto his heels from the balls of his feet and staring up at the boy he'd spoken to, at the boy he'd thought was a man who worked there. Now he looked properly, he could see that he wasn't really that old, and still looked like he was in school. Around Oskars age, even. "Oh er sorry, I..." he trailed off nervously, still staring up at the boy, which probably was even more rude that the assuming he worked their. He was about to turn and walk away and hopefully avoid him forever after, when he continued to speak. "Thank you!" Darwin grinned, looking at the sign that he'd pointed to, his hyper bouncing re-starting. "Erm, no. I'm not allowed one but I want one so I think I'm going to save up for one because I want to be able to send post and stuff." Yeah, just because his mum and dad wouldn't buy him one, didn't mean that one day he couldn't get it himself, right? "Which one do you want to get?" |
Quote:
"You're welcome," he said, and watching as the boy resumed his little bouncing habit. "Oh. At Hogwarts, they have owls you can use to send post. If I get one today, you can use him. Just make sure he comes back," Mikey joked, turning back to the owls in front of him. Was it really hard to decide what kind he wanted? Though, he was most likely going towards the snowy owl. "I'm mostly going for the snowy owl," he answered. "Though my sister would most likely claim it as her own, but she'll have me clean and feed it all the time," he admitted. Knowing Arianna, well obviously pretty good considering they were twins, she would definitely make him clean and look after his own owl, even if she claimed it as her known. The perks of having a sister. |

Until he smiled, at least. Darwin forced a little smile back, his rocking a little more nervous now, but not too over the top because he was pretty sure this older kid wasn't going to try to kill him or anything. Most killers didn't smile normally or talk normally or accept an apology, did they? Not in the films Darwin had seen they didn't. Even though he usually had to turn them off when they got too scary. But enough about that. "No... I guess, not really, you're just... bigger than me." Yes, that was pretty much his reasoning behind who worked and who didn't. Darwin had pretty much managed to stay with little people, up until now, although to be quite honest, the boy was probably younger than his brother. Hm. Stupid logic failing him. Call it nervousness, yes. Being in a place on his own and not really knowing anyone. It did throw the little boy. "Do you go to Hogwarts?" he managed, as the first normal point of conversation now that the boy had mentioned it. "I can?! Are you sure?! I mean, would you say that to ANYone? Because I'm not going to steal it because stealing's mean but there are probably some not nice people who would and how would you know that I wasn't one of them?" A simple 'thank you', would probably have sufficed, but that wasn't Darwin-like; it was Darwin-like to over analyse and worry and think people were going to kill him and he was going to get sent home before he'd learnt even one spell. "The white one? It's big. Bigger than me, almost. But it's pretty. Would she? See, my sister would tell people it was hers but still make me clean it because she's mean. But she'd make me clean it even if it was actually hers." This boys sister sure sounded a hell of a lot nicer than Emiline, that was for sure! |
Zhenya walked into Eeylops Owl Emporium with her mother, who went to look at the owls. They were going to buy one for the family, as their family Owl was so old it was almost dust. Whilst she went off to look at them, Zhenya went to stock up on Owl food and treats. She had her own basket with her that she loaded everything into. She got two jars of Moths, a Jar of crickets, and a Jar of ants. Then she got Vitamin and Fruit treats and some earthworms. She also got a new perch for her owl, and a beak rock. After she finished she went to find her mother. |
Ella was standing in front of the jars of insects with a disgusted look on her face. Not that she hated insects exactly...it was just the thought of feeding them to her owl, Jasper, that made her a bit sick. Standing on her tippy-toes, Ella reached up and grabbed a jar of crickets, bringing them down for closer inspection. "Er, I'm really sorry about this guys. Please don't hate me. I too think feeding you to Jasper is a totally barbaric custom but he does need to eat." Frown. Why did Jasper have to like insects anyway? Couldn't he be a vegetarian or something? |
For Lara. ^_^ Monique, after wandering around for a bit, finally arrived at the owl shop. Her own owl was safely back at the Leaky Cauldron inn. But for now. Treats were needed. Preferably those with vitamins. Gotta keep Zee happy and healthy. |

When he heard the door open, Leonard paused his attempts of taking care of the little injured Fish Owl and his light blue gaze focused towards where the sound came from. Footsteps. A customer. Or maybe someone who had brought him a sick owl or something. Well...he had to just go and see, right? Gently putting the owl back in its cage, the man rose up to have a better sight of the customer and the very moment he did so, he felt himself freeze. Oh wow... Just wow. Quickly, and without being seen, he ran to the back shelves and changed his t-shirt with owl poo on it with a clean one and approached the woman after a quick check of his blonde hair. ''Welcome to Eeylops Owl Emporium!!'' he said with a warm smile and a very welcoming tone. She indeed was completely welcomed in his shop. ''How can i help you?'' Meanwhile, he was hoping that he did not smell of owl poop. |
Monique, who was busy looking at the different treats, looked up when a man's voice addressed her. Oooh. And Monique did not mind at all that he interrupted her shopping. Nope. In fact... she might even have been willing to spend a few more minutes in the shop than she'd originally planned. "Just arrived from Paris. Thought I'd give my owl a bit of a treat." she said. Her French accent was much less apparent than it was the last time she was here. In fact, at times, it was unnoticeable. "Do you happen to have any recommendations Monsieur...?" Blue eyes. She needed a name to go with those blue eyes. |
Quote:
''Murdoch.'' he completed her sentence happily. ''Leonard Murdoch.'' Like Bond, James Bond but Leo believed his name was way cooler. Cooler than his twin brother's too. Well...who cared about those when he had a beautiful lady who needed help in his shop anyway? Sooo owl treats. He tilted his head to the side a bit and smiled just to look cool and handsome. Surely he was still hoping that he did not smell of owl poo.He tried to get an idea of that by sniffing a bit but he got nothing. ''Well...i sell different kinds of owl treats here which i individually chose to be most healty and tasty for our little friends. I have plain ones and fruit ones for the enjoyment of different species and vitamin ones for babies and those who need extra care. What kind of owl is your little friend?'' |
"Monsieur Leonard Murdoch." Monique repeated with a smile. That was an easy enough name to remember. There was a French version of it. She nodded. An intelligent shopkeeper. An intelligent shopkeeper who... did he just... smell himself? He did realize he was in a shop that all together smelled, right? She'd let that slide though. She thought it was a bit endearing that he cared how he smelt at the moment. "Zee is a..." Oh. What did they call those here...? Oh, right. "Striped owl." Silly English with their silly names for things. |
Quote:
''A Striped Owl.'' he repeated this time. ''A fine choice for a Post Owl. Very strong and resilient, can fly quite long distances with ease. And oh...'' he gave her a sheepish smile and rubbed the back of his neck. ''...sorry you were asking about the treats. For a Striped Owl, the plain ones would be a nice feast.'' And little rodents and birds. But for some reason he did not want to mention that to the lady. Talking about dead animals would not help him look cool. |
Monique nodded along. "Yes. I've been abroad recently, so I needed a quality owl." One that didn't look horrid in the middle of the night. Most of those smaller owls just looked too... shifty... "No, no. It's quite alright. It's actually nice to hear that the shopkeeper back in Paris was right. He was a bit... how you say..." What was the word again? "Mad." Yes. That's what the British called a crazy person. "The plain ones it is." she said picking up the recommended treats. "Anything else I should pick up while I'm here?" As in, if he wanted to know her name, now was the chance. |

The man was really glad to hear that his 'little' nerdiness about owls and animals in general was not a boring conversation killer. Suddenly this started to make him feel more confident. His smile even changed to a very confident one. ''Ah i see.'' Mad. Sometimes some people called him mad too but that was mostly when he was off to distant fields looking for insects to examine and study. For now he was going to hide that side of him too for no lady would be interested in a man who liked to work with insects. He ran a hand through his blonde hair before taking a packet of plain owl treats for her. ''There are other owl food that Zee would enjoy. Grooming goods and accessories. I also offer a free health check. I suppose i can give you an owl tonic...'' Maybe now was the time. ''....madam...'' he said leaving the rest to her to complete with her name. He also did not forget to give her his coolest look while doing so he felt like a male peacock in mating season with large colourful feathers. Proud. |
"Ah. I'm never one to pass up accessories." Monique said with a grin. So what if they were for the owl? Accessories were accessories, right? "As for the health check, I'm afraid that'll have to wait. She's back at the Leaky Cauldron." Which, she still couldn't get over how weird that name was. "...moiselles Monique Bernard." she finished. The same Monique from the TriWizard Tournament a few years ago. If he was one to keep up on international happenings. And no, that smile wasn't lost on her. Nor was the hand through hair trick. "Now, where are these accessories and grooming products?" |
The accessories. For owls, they were not many but Leonard supposed he could offer this beautiful lady a bit more from his special shelf. He laughed at her comment only to stop when he heard that she was staying at the Leaky Cauldron. If she was staying in the Leaky Cauldron...then... ''You are not here for long?'' the question escaped his mouth before he could help it. And it was too late to do anything about it. Feeling...weird, he quickly cleared his throat and focused his attention back on the packets of owl treats. Monique Bernand. Monique. A beautiful name. Especially the way she pronounced it. ''Nice to meet you, Monique.'' The way he said her name did not sound as pretty as hers did but the good thing was that now he knew her name...even though he was too ashamed to look at her now. He just hoped he was not blushing or something. That would make the situation extra awkward for him. Yes yes!! The accessories and grooming products. Something to be distracted from the feeling. ''That way.'' he said indicating her to follow him. He walked to another set of shelves. ''Stuff to keep Zee healthy.'' |
Monique hid a light laugh behind her hand. He was... not very subtle, was he? She gave a casual wave of her hand. "I haven't decided yet. I'm here for a few days at least. But I'm thinking about staying." There really was nothing in France for her. She could see her family just as often living in another country as she would living back in France. But that was too much to mention to just an acquaintance. She allowed herself to examine the shopkeeper once more. He was... very intriguing. Not at all like French men. She forgot how much she enjoyed the company of the English. Even though she'd never admit such a thing out loud. She followed him down the aisle to another set of shelves. Hmm... it was good her owl was black and white. That went with everything. She looked at the blonde shopkeeper again. Was he going to recommend something? |
She was going to be around for a few days. That was both good and bad news. Good because it meant...well...she was going to be around for a few days. Bad because it meant he did not have much time to...getting to know her. Merlin! After so long time he saw a lady that attracted him and the situation was like this. He felt like he needed to act quick but at the same time he feared that she would misunderstand. His mind raced as he stared at the goods on the shelves. ''So, i guess, you are here looking for a job?'' It sounded like that, right? She said few days but there was the possibility that she could stay. *ahem* Back to the goods. He cleared his throat again. ''Here i...we have Beak Rocks. This is for a healty and sharp beak. Zee knows how to use it.'' of course the blonde man did not forget to add a smile there. ''Food and water cups in different sizes and colours. Different kinds of perches, you know, some owls would prefer some certain kinds of wood to perch on to be more comfortable. Owl tonic for health and...'' he did not know if she would laugh at the next one but ''...the new owl bracelets.'' his mouth already said it before he could stop himself. Now he needed to explain. ''Well..'' he took a little owl bracelet and showed her ''...i make these.'' why? He did not know. ''It is a little bracelet for owls in different colours. It also helps witches and wizards to identify their owls in a large crowd of the birds. Works if your owl is a common breed like the Tawny. Oooor it can be used as just...a bracelet.'' Okay, now he really was waiting to be laughed at. |
"A party, actually." Monique clarified. "Well, reunion." Okay. So she was back because she wanted to see Noel. It had been far too long. And maybe to see how Raiden was fairing. But other than that... But she wasn't going to go into how weird it would be to see a certain contestant. She left those kind of thoughts back in France years ago. She nodded and listened in. Zee could probably go with a new beak rock and perch. She curiously leaned and looked over the bracelets. "You made bracelets?" she repeated. "To help identify your owl in a crowd?" She grinned a little. What a clever man. She'd seen the trick used on trunks. And... the more appealing muggle version. "I'll take one." she said still smiling. "And a beak rock, perch, and bit of tonic as well." "Are the bracelets easy to attach?" Or would he need to do it? Because, she wasn't going to deny that he was kind of intriguing. She wouldn't be opposed to spending more time with him. Not opposed at all. |
