"So what are you doing here?" Was that as stupid of a question that it sounded like? Well not really Em was here probably getting an owl like she did I few weeks ago. Yep Bart helped her pick it out. And she was there and could help Em find her one. |

It was just Cinna, just Cinna. Phew! Emmylou smiled and got clung to. Can't. Breathe. Can't. Breathe. The thirteen year old managed to get her arms free and wrapped them around her friend. Not to long after that Cinna let go of her and she could breath normally again. Emmylou looked around at the other owls. Didn't Cinna already buy an owl? YES! Wasn't it with Baaaart! Emmylou got a sappy grin on her face. Those two needed to date, she would make sure that it would happen. |

"Excuse me?" Silas held up the MP3 player to her, holding it out for the girl to take. "You dropped this outside." He was interested in knowing why she had one, but was hesitant to ask outright. Silas would wait to see how she responded first... |
Saz. <3 Seeing as Emmylou didn't end up buying an owl last summer she knew that she really needed one for this coming term because the owl that her dad had let her use wasn't a very nice owl and ended up biting her every time she went to attach the letter to him. The fourteen year older wanted to be able to name her own owl because Bob wasn't a good name for a pet owl. Emmylou would probably name her owl something odd but it would work for her. She didn't care just as long as no one else had thought of naming their owl that same as hers. Emmylou looked around to pick out the perfect owl. |

Soon enough, Benny and Angel had made it to the door of Eeylops Owl Emporium, their final overall destination at the moment. He couldn't help be somewhat thankful that his companion's current, more-mature-than-her-years behavior had helped the walk be relatively quiet as the fourth year was back in his thoughts once more. The struggle becoming more and more commonplace to him. Just what did he have to do or say to silence it all? To fix everything that had suddenly changed? A part of him really hoping it wouldn't be bad when school started again, wanting to enjoy his fourth year somewhat. Taking a step or two extra on his longer legged stride, he reached the door first, grabbing it and holding it upon for Angel. "After you..." he quietly offered out of politeness. Benny wasn't about to be rude to her simply because most of his discomfort seemed to ultimately stem from her in some form. |

Angel looked around the place it was massive but at the minute everything was looking small to her. She just wished that someone would come and swallow her up so that she could go somewhere else because her little brain needed to think. Angel decided that the best thing to do would be to stand there and see where Benny went first then maybe it wouldn't feel so awkward. She looked around and gave a weak smile when she noticed Abby. She gave her sister a friendly wave. |
Archie already had an owl, an awesome eagle owl that Jessa had bought him last year, but he didn't have much in the way of cool stuff to take to Hogwarts with him to make Crius feel at home - and so here he was, to remedy that. Maybe some special owl treats...or a special toy? Archie didn't know. What he did know what that he was far too short to reach any of the cool stuff on the upper shelves. How was he to choose if he couldn't look properly to see what Crius might like? |
Ian came into Eeylops carrying his tawny owl, Atticus. It had been a gift from his mum after he'd completed his first year at Hogwarts. When she'd received owls from him, she told him how much she enjoyed the visits and the interested questions from the neighbors. She said she'd searched for some time to find one that was small, but indigenous to the area. She rather liked this one. It was about the size of a pigeon and it's brown-ish colored feathers made her feel happy. She was always upset when he left for Hogwarts with him. However, he promised he'd write enough that Atticus would come to visit her. He thought he'd get the folks at the shop to give Atticus a lookover to see how he was getting on. Plus, he needed to get a few things for the trip on the train. That always seemed to be an issue with Atticus. He wasn't exactly pleased with that mode of travel. Ian had considered just having his mum send Atticus to Hogwarts after school has started, but he liked the traveling companion. It was fun watching him fly about the cabin during the train ride, though one had to be careful about falling missiles from time to time. He walked toward the counter to wait for some assistance. |
Well, there was only one thing a boy could do to get a better look up there: jump. So jump he did, getting a fleeting look at the types of owl pellets up there each time. Jump...Jump...Jump... It was no good though - whilst he could see there were lots of types up there, he couldn't tell what types there were and definitely couldn't reach them to take them to the counter. Sighs, he had them. He needed his cousins right now, they'd be able to reach and help him. |
As he was walking through the aisle toward the counter, Ian heard a thumping noise behind him. He hadn't taken notice of the boy before, but he appeared to be a firstie and seemed to be having a bit of trouble with the pellets. He walked over and looked at him. Oy! Everything ok? Perhaps not the best greeting, but it was what came to mind. Ian smiled at him, hoping he didn't appear arrogant or rude. |
Huh? Archie stopped his jumping, and turned to face the voice with a sheepish smile. "Sort of," he replied, somewhat relieved that it was a smiling face of a boy, and not a grumpy shopkeeper wondering what all the noise was about. "Well...not really, actually." He pointed to the shelf of owl pellets. "I want to see what's up there as I want to get something for my owl for when I'm at Hogwarts, but I'm not tall enough to see." But this person was at least a head taller than him, so perhaps he wouldn't mind helping a little firstie out? "Would you mind telling me if there is anything suitable for an eagle owl? Cree likes mouse or rabbit the most, but I think he'd go for frog or insects too." |
Ian's smile widened as he faced the boy. He nodded as the child told him about his dilemma. I see. One would think that the shopkeepers would remember during the summer the height challenged and place common items a little lower. Ian scanned the shelf briefly before picking out one of each for the boy to decide from. He lowered them to the boys level and said, I'd go for the rabbit. It seems to be the most tender when offered. My owl tends to snap at me when I give him insects. Too tiny, even for him. Ian waited while the young man chose. He decided it would be polite to introduce himself. I'm Ian. This is my friend Atticus he said motioning to the cage containing the owl he'd set on the ground. |

Benny let the door close behind them once they had both walked inside the shop. "You're welcome," he said as he worked on getting his bearings. His bearings were better for his mind at the moment then trying to come to terms with what had already transpired today. The fourth year was Looking around, he tried to remember which way to go in the aisles and such. No owls would be purchased today though you could hear a whole bunch of them in one portion of the shop. Nope...they were here for treats and anything else needed for their familiars if they decided on it. He took a step off to the right and paused as if doubting his final decision. But then he pushed it aside and continued down the aisle. It certainly looked like the right way. And then he turned to see if Angel was following only to noticing her wave at someone. He couldn't help wonder whom she had seen. One of their housemates? Someone she just knew and maybe he didn't? Which was quite possible. He himself didn't see anyone like Adi or even her sister, AJ. |
Knowing which owl she wanted, she needed to have a quick look through the shelves. What cage should she get? What treats and food would the sweet owlet like to eat? She browsed through everything, thinking of what she could or should buy, but she really didn't know. Her memories were blocking out some things, and owl care was one of them. She didn't remember what she used to feed her other owl, or what treats it liked, although she was sure all owls were different. Having decided what owl she wanted, she figured the best thing to do was to ask the shopkeeper. |
Who wants a God of Pie? It was no lie that Nashville loves animals but right now he was on a top secret mission. Honestly it really wasn't a mission, he needed a new owl because his sister stole his own owl from him. That little turd for an owl actually likes his little sister more than he liked his original owner. Nashville really didn't want a new owl but he had no choice. His mother wasn't so technology savvy and didn't own a cellular device that the muggles all had these days. Nashville only had a cellular phone because he was in that muggle social media website called Twitter and because his boss is a muggle. |
Stepping into the shop, Domino was exited. Being sixteen, she was finally able to get an owl of her own. Too, knowing what owl she wanted, a barking owl,she went to the shelves and looked for a cage and some owl food to start out with. But what? There was so many choices. Finally deciding on a cage and a jar of spiders, she headed to get her owl. |
For Lislchen Austin knew how badly Athena wanted a new cage. She was growing, and the cage had proven to be too small for her. She hadn't been in it in months, preferring the tower at Hogwarts. But the ride home was horrible for her, and the fourth year felt bad for putting her in the cage. There wasn't much he could do. Once they had reached the station, though he had opened her cage, and she happily flew out. The entire time he spent waiting for his dad, she was perched on his shoulder. It was nice to have a companion on the long wait. He browsed through the cages, hoping to find a good one for her. What did Screech owls like? Should he have brought his owl along on the trip? Maybe he'll buy some treats for her too, as an apology for forcing her in that small cage for so long. |

Maggie didn't know and was OBVIOUSLY not happy with being in here. Owls SMELLED. Did Jeremy know that? DID HE? He probably did but then WHY was she in here? Why did she have to pick one? He could've bought her something useful instead. Something pretty. Something cool. But no. Instead he'd insisted on buying her...AN OWL. Like........seriously? Wrinkling her nose, Maggie walked down one of the aisles, trying to stay away from any real life creatures for as long as possible. Maybe if she took too long Jeremy would just come get her and see how this had been a stupid idea all along. She didn't NEED an owl. This was so st- Oh. Hi. She stopped walking to eye the boy down the aisle, apparently looking at some of the cages. He looked familiar. She'd definitely seen him around but hadn't quite caught his name yet. Hmm. There was more eying going on before she eventually moved closer, put on a smiiiiile and positioned herself in his way. "Excuse meeeee?" You, yes you. |

"Yeeees?" He said back, mocking her tone. He wasn't actually mocking, just playing around. It was just the way he was. There was always an air of mockery when it came to Austin A. Moore. There wasn't much he could do about that. Upon further inspection, it seemed to be that the girl didn't want to be here. Her nose was scrunched up, and she was walking around as if one of the owls were going to take a dump on her head. Which that never happened, they were in their own cages which all had a bottom. He wanted to ask, but felt it was too personal a question. And since Austin was such an awkward 14-year-old, the last thing he wanted was to do was scare off a young girl. So instead he just raised an eyebrow and looked at her with his blue, blue eyes. |

Maggie narrowed her eyes briefly before she could stop herself. Was he making fun of her? WAS HE? Because that was really REALLY rude, did he know? But also...not relevant right now. There were more important things to think about. Mhm. Liiiiike coming up with a good reason as to why she'd approached him. "Could you maaaybe get down that-" Err. What was there? She quickly glanced up to see what was on the shelf next to them. "-THAT cage up there?" Yes the one on the very TOP of the shelf. "I can't reach it....aaaaand you're so much taller than me." She added a helpless pout for good measure and moved a little closer. HELP? Pllleeeeeease? |

So he reached up and grabbed the cage she wanted. But as he was taking it down, he lost the grip and it came stumbling out of his hands. Thankfully he caught it before it could hit the ground. His face turned red at the idea of embarrassing himself in front of someone new. Why was he so bad at speaking to people? "Thinking of buying an owl then?" He said, trying to cover up his bumble. She really looked out of place in the store. Having an owl didn't seem like her cup of tea. Actually any sort of pet other than a pigmy puff seemed to be out of her league. Thankfully Austin was here to help. "Certain owls prefer certain types of treats and cages. So it would be good to pick out a type of owl before picking out a cage." He gave her one of his awkward smiles. "Unless you're here like me, and in need of a new cage. My owl's grown out of her old one." At this point, Austin was just making conversation. He had never spoken to this girl before, and he wasn't entirely sure if he was boring her or not. It was hard to figure out what to talk about when you don't know the person. Talking to people is hard. He thought. The Ravenclaw was always so awkward when it came to people, and he could never seem to do anything properly. |

Maggie shrieked and jumped out of the way when he (almost) DROPPED THE CAGE! Ooookay maybe he was not going to be on her list. She had no use for a clumsy one. No-oh. But she'd decided on a three-strikes kind of thing. So. One strike. Two left. So far, so good. At least he'd CAUGHT the cage and not dropped it completely. If he had done that she would have dismissed her own rule and just left. As it was though, she was still here. Yes. Oh yes he was boring her. A LOT. Not that it showed on her face or anything. She was on a mission here. So her smile was still up (or up again after that cage dropping incident) and she was pretend-listening to what he was saying. "Reaaallly?" What had he been saying? Something about having his own owl had stuck though so she went with replying to that. "So you HAVE an owl then?" Yes? "That's SO COOL!" It really wasn't. Unless she could borrow it so she wouldn't have to ask that Hufflepuff to send all her letters. |

"Yea, her name is Athena." Not like it mattered, or that she cared. But Athena had been his only friend last summer, so she was kind of sort of really important to him. That wasn't lame... was it? Anyways... he decided to change the conversation, because he could tell she wasn't that interested in what he was saying. Actually, it was her tone of voice. It sounded sarcastic, like she didn't care at all. Which upset the boy, but he wasn't going to show it. She seemed like a really nice girl, and the last thing he wanted was to scare her away. He already scared her out of her wits. But she was still here, so that said something about him, right? Maybe it was his eyes. Ophelia said he had really nice eyes. He held out his arm in a gentlemanly way for her to take, so they could walk and talk. "So why are you actually here?" |
Quote:
But once again, not really important right now. Ah good. She'd heard that right then. "Atheeena." Maggie repeated slowly as if she was trying to remember the name. Which she probably was. Just in case. It might come in handy. Or something. Who knew. Athena, the owl. Noted. Good thing he was still holding on to that cage for her by the way. She had absolutely NO need for that thing. But was also going to make sure he wouldn't find out about that. Yes. HE WAS OFFERING HER HIS ARM?? OMG! Beaming up at him, Maggie took - even though taking a walk inside an owl shop sounded like a slightly strange idea. But whatever. "To get an owl!" DURRR! Why else would she be here? She giggled slightly though to insinuate what a silly question that was. "You go to Hogwarts right?" Because if not this was all for nothing. |
