“I hope that this week’s detention taught you to think before you broke the rules, Potter.” McGonagall said to Mia on the very last night of her detentions. Mia, too tired to speak, nodded.
“I don’t want this to happen again, is that understood?”
Mia nodded again
“Very well, you may go.” Mia rushed out of McGonagall’s office and walked down the corridor to Gryffindor tower. When she reached the common room, she found Lily writing on a scroll of parchment by the fire. Everyone else had apparently already gone to bed.
“Why are you still up?” Mia asked Lily.
“I’m working on that memory potion essay for Slughorn.” answered Lily, not taking her eyes off of her work.
“But isn’t that due next week?”
“I want to take care of all my work now instead of at the last minute like other certain people I know.” Lily looked up at Mia and saw how tired she was. “You should probably get to bed; you won’t want to oversleep and be late for class.”
Mia nodded for what felt like the hundredth time and went upstairs to the Girls Dormitory.

Chapter Twenty – Quidditch


“That was exciting!” said Samantha as she, Mia, Lauren, and Jennifer were leaving the stands after the Quidditch match between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff. “I never knew that game could look so fun!”
“James and I used to play one-on-one Quidditch all the time when we were kids.” said Mia, “James was always upset that I was the better flyer.”
“You are such a terrible liar, Potter!”
The four girls looked around and saw Regulas and his friends leaning against the castle by the front doors. He and his friends were smirking as the four girls walked closer to the doors.
“I mean, there is no way a girl could beat a boy at Quidditch!” said Regulas, “It’s a man’s game invented by men, played by men, and it will continue being played by men until Judgment Day.”
“You really think a girl can’t beat a boy at Quidditch, Regulas Black?” asked Mia.
“I don’t think, I know.”
“You should have stopped at ‘I don’t think.’” said Jennifer. The people nearby started to laugh and Regulas’ pale cheeks turned pink.
“Why don’t we make this interesting then?” asked Mia, “My six girls against your six guys. If my team wins, your team has to admit that girls can beat guys any day.”
“Alright, but when I win, the Gryffindors Quidditch will have to lose the next game against Ravenclaw. Deal?” Regulas held out his hand for Mia to shake. Mia hesitated, then shook his hand.
“We play this Saturday,” said Regulas, “Don’t forget to bring your brooms and hankies to wipe your tears when my team pounds your team.”

"Mia, how exactly did you expect a girl team to beat a boy team? Especially if that boy team is from Slytherin!" said Sam
"I'm sorry," said Mia, "I don't even know what came over me! Regulas was just making me so mad."
"Well I guess you'll be way passed angry when Regulas beats us this Saturday."
"We just need three great girl Quidditch players and practice until Saturday."
"Actually you might want to make that four," said Lauren, "I can't play Quidditch that well."
"Make that five." said Sam.
"It's hopeless!" said Jennifer, "Where are we going to find five awesome Quidditch players that are girls?"

"No, absolutely not!" said Lily after Mia asked her if she could be on her team that night in the common room. Lily was in one of the comfortable sofas in the common room reading Hogwarts, A History. Mia was sitting next to her.
"Why won't you be on my team?" asked Mia.
"Because Mia," said Lily, "Quidditch is one of the most violant, barbaric, stupidest game ever created."
Some of the students nearby gasped in shock at Lily's words, some of them also glared at her.
"Lily haven't you ever played a game of Quidditch before?"
"Of course not!"
"Lily, you have to experience it firsthand before you make any comment on it," said Mia, "Come to practice and then tell me how you feel."
"I'm sorry Mia but no." Mia opened her mouth to speak again, "Sorry, wrong number, I won't do it!" she closed her book, got up from her seat, then walked up to the Girls Dormitory.
"Wrong what?" asked Mia, confused.
"Never mind!"

i'm sorry for taking so long, I've got school now and since I'm a junior that means I have more work than I used to. I was also wondering, after I do the Girls vs. Boys Quidditch match, does anybody mind if I skipped ahead to Mia's fourth year and the Marauder's fifth year? I'm way behind schedule on this story

happy halloween everyone!!! i promise I will post something in a few hours (I'd post it now but it's almsot midnight where I'm from)

"Next!"
The third year girl trying out for the girl's quidditch team walked off the Quidditch pitch, dissapointed.
"Mia, the was the fiftieth girl you nexted," said Samantha, "And none of them seemed to make the team. It's just one quidditch game, why don't you just pick a girl."
"We only have three more days!" said Jennifer, "Why are you being so stubborn on picking five girls for the team?"
"Because I want to show Regulas that you can be great at Quidditch even if you're a girl."
"Hello, I'd like to try out."
It was Meg, she was holding her new Cleansweep and her long black hair was pulled back into a braid.
"Meg, I didn't know you could play Quidditch." said Mia, surprised.
"Yes, I played it all the time with my father before he died," said Meg, "Are the Beater positions taken?"
"Did you say Beater?" Jennifer asked incredulously.
"Yes, I always did better as a Beater than a Chaser or Keeper."
"Alright, let's see what you got." said Mia.
Mia handed Meg the beater bat. Meg mounted on her broom and kicked off the ground and flew into the air, Mia did the same, holding a bulging bag.
"I'm going to throw some these muggle baseballs at you," said Mia, "I think you know what to do."
Mia saw Meg nod and reached into the bag for a ball. She took one out and threw it towards Meg as hard as she could. Meg hit the ball with the beater bat and the ball flew into the air for several yards before finally falling to the ground. This went on until Mia was all out of baseballs, Meg didn't miss a single one thrown at her. Meg and Mia landed on the ground and got off of their brooms. Mia held out her hand for Meg who shook it.
"Congratulations, Meg. You're on the team."
"FINALLY!!" yelled out Jennifer, Sam, and Lauren.
"Oh, shaddup."

Mia led Jennifer, Meg, and four other girls on the girls team to the Quidditch pitch. The boys team was already there, smiling smugly.
"Mia!"
Mia looked around and saw James running over to her.
"Come to wish me luck?" asked Mia.
"No, I want you to stop this." said James.
"What? Why?"
"Mia, you're my little sister and I care about you. The team you're playing against is all Slytherin. They'll kill you the first minute in I know it!"
"James, you don't have to worry about me," said Mia, "I know we'll be fine."
"Mia, you're a Seeker! Everyone knows that it's always the Seeker who gets the stuffing beaten out of them during a Quidditch match!"
"James, if you're not going to support this team then I suggest you go away!" said Mia haughtily. She and the team started to continue walking over to the pitch until James grabbed Mia's arm. Mia glared at him but then looked into his eyes and saw worry.
"Mia, please." pleaded James. "I almost lost you once because you flew on a broomstick. I don't want it to happen again."
Mia pulled her arm out of his grip and continued walking to the pitch. As soon as the girls were on the pitch both teams mounted their brooms and kicked off into the air. Mia pulled out a golf ball and her wand. She muttered a spell while tapping the ball and threw it into the air until it stopped a few feet above the ground and started to fly around the pitch almost as fast as a regular snitch.
"Not bad, for a girl." sneered Regulas.
One of the Slytherin boys threw a Quaffle towards his team mate and the match was on.

After half an hour, the boys team was beating the girls team 50-20. Mia was desperate to find and catch the golf ball but every time she was close to catching it Regulas or one of his team mates would block her. Mia circled around the pitch, keeping her eyes peeled. Suddenly, she saw a little speck of white hovering by the goal posts. She looked around for Regulas and saw him notice it too. He looked over at her and they looked at eachother for a moment then they raced toward the snitch as fast as their brooms could go. Regulas almost had the snitch when-
WHAM!
Meg sent an enchanted baseball at Regulas and it hit his side. His broom spun off course and Mia's path was clear to get the golf ball. She held out her hand to grab it.
"Go Mia!"
Mia looked at the stands for a moment to see Sirius, James, Remus, Peter, Keely, and Lily standing and cheering in the stands. She even saw Severus sitting at the very top of the stands alone cheering her on. She smiled and looked back up and to her horror saw two Slytherin chaser flying over to ram into Mia. Mia dodged this attack by quickly flying up. A loud thump had Mia guess that the chasers rammed into eachother. She looked around and saw the golf ball near the stands not to far away. She stretched out her hand again to catch it. Her fingers closed around the cold hard ball and she held out her arm high, beaming. The girl team had won. The girls cheered loudly while the boys groaned but they could hardly be heard by the cheers coming from the stands. Mia landed on the ground and Sirius, James, Peter, Keely, Lily, and Remus rushed over to her. James hugged her and spin around in the air, apologizing for not believing in her before. When James put Mia down, she saw Severus standing not too far away from where they were. James saw Severus too and he and Mia looked at eachother.
"Go on." he said, nudging her in the back towards Severus' direction. Mia walked over to Severus and they smiled at eachother.
"Congratulations." said Severus.
"Thank you," said Mia breathlessly, "I'm glad you came. I didn't think you would show up."
"I wanted to suprise you." He held out his hand for hers and she took it. They walked off the pitch and towards the castle for lunch. The people around stared and pointed, amazed that a Slytherin and a Gryffindor were holding hands but Severus and Mia ignored them. The two of them felt like they were the only people around.

"Severus, I want to break up." said Mia, three years later.

These words hit Severus's insides like knives. He looked down at the wooden table he and Mia were sitting at. They were at the Three Broomsticks enjoying some butterbeer, there were almost alone, most of the people in the room were students from Hogwarts, including James, Sirius, Remus, and Peter. James was watching Mia and Severus like he always did whenever Mia and Severus went out on a date. It was a beautiful summer day and the exams were almost over.
"Why do you want us to break up?" asked Severus, finally.
Mia started to look and feel uncomfortable.
"It's just...I'm not feeling it anymore," said Mia, "I mean, at first, things were excellent until...well, you know."
"Until I said that I was thinking about joining the Dark Lord." said Severus.
"Well, yes. After you said that, I've been feeling a little...uncomfortable. Don't get me wrong," she added, hastily, "The three years we had together were great, but I just don't think I could still love someone whose life's ambition is to help a cruel wizard torture and kill muggles and muggleborns. I mean, you know how I was raised."
"I understand." said Severus.
"You'll still join Him even after I break up with you?" asked Mia, though she knew the answer.
"Yes."
"Why?"
"Because I'm more like the Death Eaters than any other wizard."
"I'm sorry to hear that." Mia stood up to leave, before she walked out of the Three Broomsticks, she heard Severus say, "We can still be friends though, right?"
Mia looked at him sadly, "I don't think so. I'm sorry Sev." then she walked out.

"He called Lily a WHAT?" shouted Sam.
"How could he?" asked Lauren, horrified.
"That's what he did." said Sirius.
"I can't believe Severus Snape called Lily a Mudblood!" said Jennifer, totally shocked. Lily and Snape always got along well, it was shocking that he would call he such an insulting name ever known to wizard kind.
Mia hadn't said anything, she continued to sit in the armchair, looking at the fire, completely shocked about the news. Severus? Call Lily Evans, one of his good friends, a Mudblood?
"I'm just glad I gave Snivelus exactly what he deserved." growled James, casting a sideways glance at Mia, trying to see her reaction to the news. Instead, Mia glared at James.
"I told you to never call him that!" said Mia, angrily. James flinched as if she screamed her words.
"Did you not hear what I said?" asked Sirius, incredulous, "Snivelus called Lily a-"
"I heard what you said!" snapped Mia, "I know he only called her that because you gits were attacking without a good reason!"
"It doesn't matter what Sirius and James did to Snape," said Jennifer, "They didn't tell him to call Lily that name!"
"He's already angry enough as it is without you four giving him trouble!"
"I didn't do anything," said Remus calmly, reading Hogwarts, A History, "Blame the gits."
"Gee, thanks Moony." said Sirius, sarcastically.
"You're welcome Paddy." replied Remus.
"Why would he be more angry, his Slytherin mates finally forced him to take a bath?" asked James, sniggering, "Cause if they did, their did a cra-"
"I broke up with him." Mia said so quietly, she was surprised that the group even heard her say it.
"Y-you did?" asked James, not doing a good job at hiding his happyness, "Why, you two seemed to have been getting along fine."
"I don't want to talk about it." said Mia, close to tears, "And it's none of your business anyway." She got out of her seat a walked up to the girls dormitory while the others watched her.

Happy Christmas everyone!

"Mia, c'mon. Dinner's ready." said James, coming into Mia's room the night they came back home for the holidays. Mia had been locked in her room the moment they entered the house. She hadn't even unpacked. Mia looked at James from her bed and said, "I'm not hungry, James. You guys eat without me."
"You sure?" asked James, sitting at the edge of her bed, "It's roast beef. I know it's your favorite."
Mia smiled sadly at James. "I'm sure." she said.
"You're still upset about the breakup aren't you?"
"How'd you guess?"
"It's not funny," said James. He held her hand in his, "Mia, last time you were this depressed you got seriously hurt, you almost died. I don't want to lose my baby sister."
"I'm not a baby, James." said Mia, feeling slightly insulted but not taking back her hand, "You don't have to stay up late worring about me James. I'm fine." she pulled her hand out of his grip, turned over in her bed, and didn't say another word. James took the hint and walked out of her bedroom.

"You ran away from home?" asked James, half excited and half concerned.
"Yup!" Sirius answered happily, leaning against the doorway, "It's been something I've wanted to do for ages."
"Where are you gonna live, though?" asked James
"Well, I was hoping that...uh...you know...live here."
"Here?"
"Well, if that's a problem," Sirius said quickly, "I can just find a different place. I know it was a stupid idea-"
"No, I think it's a brilliant idea!" said James ecstatic, "You can live in the extra room we've got!"
"What about your mum and dad?" asked Sirius.
"I'll ask them when they get home," said James, "They're visiting gram and gramps for lunch. Good thing I said i didn't want to go, eh?"
"You said?" giggled Mia, coming to the door, "More like you begged. Hey Sir." she added, ignoring James's scowl, "What are you doing here?"
"I ran away from home." answered Sirius, "I might be living here now. And since when have you ever called me 'Sir'?"
"Since now. And nice going on finally running away," she added giving him a high five, "I've always said that you should just leave that place. I wish I could see the look on that old bat's face when she finds out you left for good. I'm sure mum and dad will be fine with you moving in. You always seemed like part of the family anyway."
