great story. You have a really good imagination. Keep writing |
:worm: :shifty: Guess what? I'm here with a post. *Lissy hears everyone faint from shock* :faint: But it's true! :D I have a post. A little shorter then originally intended, but I decided to cut it into two posts instead of one. Anyway, I may or may not decide to do some editing here. I'm proof-reading after working two nights in a row. Haven't been to bed in more then 24 hours *yawns* So be kind. :sleepy: Love you all! :glomp: Lissy Potions Class Sirius had never been comfortable attending class in the dungeons. There was just something unnatural about the dim, claustrophobic confines of the place, in his opinion. This feeling was rather heightened by memories of Azkaban, but he forced himself to push these thoughts aside as he followed his godson and his friends to their first class. He could sense a change in his companion’s demeanors as well. The boys’ animated conversation had ceased, and both wore solemn expressions. Even Hermione seemed somewhat subdued now that they were underground. Then again, Sirius figured, the mere thought of the master of this dungeon would be enough to spoil anyone’s mood. It had always spoiled his. Inside the classroom, it became apparent that continuing Potions past the O.W.L. level was either very unpopular or simply too difficult to achieve, at least it was if your house was anything but Slytherin. Fully half the class was made up of students from the Potion Master’s own house. Of the sixteen students present, eight were Slytherin. In the center of that group, Draco Malfoy lounged casually in his chair as though he were a prince holding court, the girl Sirius saw in the great hall fawning over him possessively. The boy’s grey eyes swept over the small group of Gryffindors as they entered, a wry smirk playing about the corner of his mouth. He turned to whisper something to his companion who looked up and giggled. Sirius met Draco’s gaze straight on, an eyebrow raised in question, “are we going to have a problem here?” his expression asked. As they took their seats, Harry and Ron glared in the direction of the Slytherins. The tension in the air was palpable, but any insults that were about to be exchanged were interrupted by the entrance of the master of this dungeon. Snape seemed to glide into the room like a specter, his black robes billowing behind him. Despite the silence of his appearance, he commanded the attention of his students immediately and without question. All heads snapped forward and awaited the professor’s first words. Sirius, for his part, did his best to maintain control of his expression and the laughter that almost overtook him. He wondered how long Snivellus had practiced that entrance. He was obviously proud of it. Sirius covered his mouth and coughed softy. Professor Snape’s glittering black eyes bore into the students assembled, causing most to squirm in their seats. Besides the eight Slytherins, there were the four Gryffindors at one table and three Ravenclaws and one Hufflepuff sat at another. “A pitifully small class,” he observed. “And not all deserving to be here, either,” his gaze paused on the Gryffindors as he said this. “But be that as it may, I’m sure the weak won’t remain at the end of the term.” At this comment, Hermione pursed her lips in determination and not a small amount of disapproval, Harry and Ron merely looked resigned to the fact of a miserable term. Harry caught Sirius’ look and shrugged as if to say “it will only get worse.” Sirius grinned at him, and leaned far back in his chair, so that it balanced on two legs. He mock yawned behind his hand to the amusement of Ron. “Your first assignment will be memory potions, both to enhance and to cause forgetfulness,” Professor Snape had begun teaching. He waved his wand and the list of instructions appeared on the blackboard. “These potions are far more complicated then the simple memory draughts you attempted with no great success in your first year,” he continued with disdain. “Some of you are aware of charms that have similar effects to the memory potions, but charms are unreliable at best. There is far too great a chance of memory charms backfiring against the wizard who casts them.” Ron and Harry shared a knowing glance at this and Sirius was reminded of his own memory charm hidden in his pocket. “There is the incident of the wizard who attempted to cast a memory charm on his own doppelganger, and to this day no one knows who he was,” Professor Snape continued. “Who can tell me the importance of the jobberknoll in potions making?” he asked at large. Hermione alone raised her hand. Professor Snape looked over his class with no real surprise at the lack of desire to answer. His eyes rested on Sirius who continued to lean back in his chair. “Why don’t we test the effectiveness of home schooling?” he sneered. “Can our new student answer the question, Mr. Wulfric?” Sirius shrugged nonchalantly, "the jobberknoll is a bird. You use the feathers.” he responded. “Clearly your tutors were remiss in your teaching,” Snape attempted to move on, but Hermione’s waving hand became insistent. “But Sir,” she said, “He is correct the jobberknoll is a bird and the feathers are used. The bird is silent all it’s life until the moment of death when it lets out a long scream that consists off all the sounds it has ever heard.” “Miss Granger,” Professor Snape turned to her, "I don’t recall giving you permission speak, as usual. Mr. Wulfric’s answer was not complete and thus not correct. Ten points from Gryffindor for your continued lack of restraint.” “Don’t worry, Hermione,” Sirius whispered loudly, “no one uses the potions anyway, charms are better.” Sirius could see Snape’s famous control waver slightly as the man leaned over the desk to confront him. He had a feeling he may have pushed the professor too far this time, but Sirius met his glare, unflinching. “Detention,” Snape growled and ignored Sirius for the rest of the class. |

I wonder how Siry might act toward Draco at school. Harry has always been able to keep Draco subdued but I wonder what effect Siry will have on him....Muahah...:shifty: I can’t wait to find out... Quote:
I’m almost positive you feel the same for Remus. :: Wonders what you think about Snape’s memory and reminds herself to ask you next time I stalk you on Chat :: :shifty: [quote Snape seemed to glide into the room like a specter, his black robes billowing behind him. Despite the silence of his appearance, he commanded the attention of his students immediately and without question. [/quote] I don’t know why but almost everytime in the movies when Snape enters the dungeons, I can’t help but laugh. It seems he’s flying somehow but his robes get caught in the way so he’s only a few inches above the surface  Quote:
^_^ Quote:
But, is there anything behind it this time? I mean, Siry isn’t dumb to stoop to his level. Quote:
