I love it! Although after watching the HBP with Jessie Cave, I really started loving Lavender haha, but in the books I'm not a huge fan.

And the RoR ballroom is so sweet. And that dress sounds like something I would love

yeah same here... she's kinda quirky in the movies haha

Chapter 6


It was a Friday night after dinner. The common room was full of students. Some played chess, others talked, and several more, including myself, were simply lounging around the common room. I sat reading a book I had gotten from the library, enjoying just being able to relax after a stressful week. I was thoroughly content until I saw that thing walk in latched onto Ron’s arm. She led him to the corner conveniently located behind the couch upon which I was sitting. I took a deep breath and brought my attention back to my book.

The noise of everyone else in the room seemed to be so quiet in comparison to her voice. She drawled on about how she was right and he was right and they were perfect together. Her words rattled in my head and I could no longer concentrate on my reading.

“Well that was fun what we did in the deserted corridor, wasn’t it Ron?” she said seductively. I peered up from the pages and glared over at her. I again had to control my emotions in order to keep me from taking her down to the floor. Ron merely slid her comment aside.

“We didn’t do anything in the corridor Lavender. We just walked up from dinner.” He crossed his arms defensively. His face seemed set in stone, not faltering.

Just then, Ginny came and sat down on the couch next to me. She followed my gaze and gaged. “I can’t believe Ron can stand to date her. I can’t stand to even be near her.” Ginny turned back to me and sighed. “Mione, what’s wrong?” She placed a hand on my knee. “Something’s been bothering you this past week. Is it her? Is it because she’s with him?”

“Look Ginny, I’m glad you’re looking out for me but I’m fine, really.” I closed my book and stood up from the couch. Lavender was holding his hand, pulling herself closer. I made for the stairway, planning on crying myself to sleep.

“God Lavender, when are you going to get it through your head full of air that I don’t love you? I never have and I never will. I’m in love with Hermione.” At this I stopped in my tracks. His statement had resonated through the small space and the entire room fell silent. Ginny sat with a mixed look of surprise and joy. I looked over at Harry who had been playing chess. His face held nothing but shock, perhaps at the idea of his two best friends being romantically involved or that Ron was so blunt about his feelings. Lavender was taken aback at Ron’s bold proclamation.

“Well I can’t believe that you would lead me on like this and then--”

“Oh jeez, can it Lavender. You know what you did.” My gaze then returned to him. I grinned sheepishly and he smiled back. Now he had eyes for only me. “I don’t care who knows it. I love you.” He raced over to me and kissed me full on the mouth. My book fell from my hands as I wrapped my arms tightly around his neck. His wound around my waist and lifted me up off of the ground.

The room and everyone in it receded. I didn’t care who was watching. I kissed Ron more passionately than I ever had before. No matter what happened with Harry or Lavender, I had him.

Ron set me back on the ground and his eyes bore into mine. Just then, Lavender came forward with her hands on her hips. “Harry, Ron and Hermione have intentionally been hiding their relationship from you. They didn’t want to be “involved” with you anymore. They just wanted to go off by themselves,” she finished proudly. Ron and I turned to Harry, our arms still wrapped around each other. His look of bewilderment receded and was replaced with a huge smile.

“Well it’s about time. You two spend most of your time bickering, I was getting bored waiting for you to get together.” He laughed along with our other friends amongst the crowds. I turned back to Ron and knotted my fingers in his hair. My eyes filled with tears and Ron wiped them away.
“What’s the matter, love?” he asked seeming troubled. I shook my head and pulled in my lips.

“I’m just so in love with you.” He grinned and kissed me lovingly. He brought me over to the couch by the fire and pulled me onto his lap. I rested my head against his chest and closed my eyes, fully at ease.

Ron was adorable.... that was perfect. The way he went up to her just made my heart melt. You wrote it perfectly

Chapter 7


The next few days were complete and total bliss. Ron and I walked hand in hand down the corridors, cuddled by the fire, and kissed goodnight openly in the common room. I was walking from Ancient Runes when an arm was slung around my shoulder. I glanced and saw messy black hair. I rolled my eyes and laughed him off. I glanced again to find Harry staring at me, grinning cleverly.

“What is wrong with you?” I giggled. Harry nudged my shoulder and I shoved back.

“You’re just so happy,” he stated. “I’ve never seen you smile so much, even when you’ve come back from the library with a new stack of books.” He laughed and sped ahead, jumping to stand on a bench that lined the hall. I scowled at him.

“Will you get down from there? You’re going to hurt yourself.” He hopped off smiling innocently.

“Yes ma’am.” I sighed and as he fell into step with me, I linked my arm through his.

“So, how are you and Ginny?” I asked hopefully. I hadn’t had much time to talk to her about the “Harry” subject. He shrugged his shoulders.

“I don’t know. I’m trying to get closer to her, but I feel like she’s become this totally different person. I mean a good different, a more independent Ginny.”

“Well, to be honest, she got kind of tired of waiting around for you.” Harry’s face dropped. “But, she still has feelings for you. She just wanted to- branch out. You know in case you didn’t come around.”

Harry had suddenly ceased being his vibrant, goofy self. I pulled him over to a bench along the corridor and sat down with him. “How could I have been such a jerk to her?” Harry rubbed his face and stared blankly at the wall ahead. “I think I’ve always loved her,” he mused. “Whenever I’ve pictured myself in the future with a family, it’s always been with you, Ron, the Weasleys, and… her.”

I rested a hand on his shoulder. “Look, Harry, don’t give up on her that easily. She still loves you, even after all of these years. You just have to work a little harder for her,” I reasoned. I saw a glimmer of hope in his eyes. “You’re a great catch, Harry. She’d be crazy to turn you down.” I smiled at him and found a grin coming to his face as well.

“Thanks, Hermione.” He reached for me and I enclosed him in a hug. “You know, I’ve always wanted a sister. You’ve been a perfect surrogate.” I smiled against his shoulder.

“I guess I could say the same about you.” Harry withdrew from my grasped and raised an eyebrow. “What?” I asked.

“I’m like your sister?” We both broke into fits of laughter. I playfully punched his arm.

“You know what I meant,” I said. He helped me up from the seat and we wandered back toward the common room.

I am soooo sorry I haven't written in awhile. Life has been very hectic with school and mostly preparing for our spring musical I have spring break coming up at the end of the month so hopefully that will give me more time to write. If I can write a little chapter when I have some down time I will. Thanks to all of you for being patient!

Chapter 8


Christmas spirit filled the castle and was found around every corner. Hagrid had hauled in a five-story high evergreen that was placed at the front of the Great Hall. That day, most students had gone down to Hogsmead for the day while others packed for the Christmas holiday. My parents would be away for Christmas so I would be spending mine at Hogwarts. The thought of being virtually alone in the large castle loomed over me, providing me with a sense of loneliness.

I sat alone in the abandoned common room resting my eyes as I leaned against a pillow on one of the couches. I drifted off until I felt a familiar tingle on my lips. I smiled against his lips and engaged in the kiss. I propped myself up on the cushions and looked at him leaning against the couch. “I thought you were going to Hogsmead with Harry for the afternoon?” I inquired.

“Well I was, but I could tell Harry wanted to go off with Ginny so I let him.” He grinned and tucked a piece of my hair behind my ear. “Besides, I’d rather spend my time with you.” I smiled at this placed my hand on his. Ron leaned up and placed his lips to my ear. “Hermione Granger, would you do the honor of spending the Christmas holiday with me?” he asked.

I was overjoyed, and in the process of trying to envelope him in a hug, I toppled off of the couch, bringing us both to the floor. Ron chuckled and pulled me to him. “I’ll take that as a yes?”

“Oh course that’s a yes!” I replied. I pressed my lips hard to his and we both relaxed into the familiar routine that was the expressions of our love. Ron’s hands brushed my back in circular motions that I knew too well. My fingers inched to his chest and rested there. We were verging on what most people would call too close for comfort when none other than Lavender walked in from the corridor. She stared at us entangled on the rug. She simply scoffed and stormed off toward the girl’s dormitory.

Ron pulled me on top of him and placed his hands behind his head, gazing up at me. “So what does Miss Granger want for Christmas?” he mused. I leaned down closer to him, our noses almost touching.

“All I want for Christmas,” I whispered before kissing him slowly, “is you.”

I know that it is rather short, but I am in the process of writing the next installment as I type. hehe. (I do have to say I rather love the third from last paragraph )
