Not only was Lily going to Hogwarts for the first time, but she had a new job in the ministry and.. Board of Governors.

The half Veela chuckled softly to herself and eye eyes scanned briefly over the menu.. smiling as she saw Jordan's favorite flavor.. Seaweed.. as much as she loved the man, that was still so odd..

She tapped her red heeled shoe on the cobblestones as she waited for her twin to show up.. One of these days they were going to have to do a full family reunion..

Maybe at the manor? Hmmmm...

Ava was striding through Diagon Alley hoping to spot her sister before she saw her first. It had been ages and all the traveling had kept them apart way too long. Hopefully with her new position at the Uni, she would see her and her niece and brother in law way more often. Merlin she hadn't seen most of her family in a few years now.

She headed for where they were to meet and spotted her sister already there. A bright smile appeared on her face and she sped up a little and hugged her from behind "Hey!" she said beaming at her moving to take the seat next to her.

Alex grinned as she felt someone hug her from behind, "Avaaaaa. " The half Veela hugged her back from her sitting position and leaned back into her sister for just a moment before turning fully to look at her.

"Hey yourself, it's so good to see you. " A warm smile was on her face as she pushed some hair behind her ear. "How are you? I was so excited to get your owl!" The blonde gushed as she grinned at her twin..

"Are you in town for awhile? Would you like to have dinner with Jordan Lily and I soon? I know Lils would love to see you. "

She grinned down at her sister happily. It had been way too long! "It's wonderful to see you too" she responded beaming back at her as she settled in her seat. "I'm doing great, just happy to be back home again, I've really missed it here." Her eyes wondered around them and then landed back on Alex's, "How have you been? Lily, Jordan?"

She grinned and nodded "I would love to! I'm staying at the estate, haven't decided if I want to get a place closer or not. I'm actually.....moved back to England. I decided it was time to come back. No more traveling and living in my bags from place to place."

Alex smiled happily at her twin as she sat across from her. She had really missed her only sister, it felt like part of her was missing when she wasn't around. Yes she had her gaggle of brothers and nieces and nephews and sister in laws, not to mention Lils and Jor.. and the.. new one., but Ava was her twin and her best friend. She felt complete now that she was here.

"Well England and I have missed you too. " The half veela said with a smile. Her grey eyes kept their gaze on Ava as she spoke. "We are doing well, Lils is preparing for her first year at Hogwarts! Can you believe it? She's growing up so fast. " Alex shook her head a little.. her baby was going to be leaving and Alex wasn't sure how she was handling it.. "Jordan is amazing as always and I.. well.. we uhh.. have some news." " There was an excited twinkle in the white haired girl's eyes..

"Really? Oh Ava! That is amazing news! Really.. what made you come back though?" Alex crossed one leg over the other and smiled as she wiggled her silver bowed, red soled shoe.

It was an expression that proved difficult to maintain though and soon it was all she could do to NOT end up smiling along. Eye rolls helped with that and that's exactly what he got as she helped him to his feet.

"And I'm not crying yet." Jessa flopped into her seat, extending one of the spoons toward him. "I was two seconds away from darting down the alley looking for anyone who knew how to bring a kid back to life--I'd have questions for 'em after, and for you too on what it was like--but I was still worried." It was important to add the last bit....as well as..."Do that again the rats at Hogwarts won't be my only involuntary experiment volunteers." How many witnesses sat out here? Couldn't say he wasn't warned, yeah?

Now sufficiently getting over the earlier scare, Jessa's shoulders slump into a noticeably more relaxed fashion and the crazy look had gone from her eyes, giving way to curiosity. "Have you gotten most of your stuff ready for school yet?"

Her response only made him grin WIDER. Mum used to say that a smile was contagious, why he should always smile at his baby sister, and if he had really upset her then it was best that she catch a case of the smiles. Which she DID and they could move on from this and enjoy their ice cream.

"But you can't bring people back from the dead," he said nonchalantly as he accepted the spoon. "Not even the Res-s-surection S-Stone can do that....unles-s-s you were going to look for a Neck-o-macer." Or something like that. He had heard his dad talk about them from time to time. Butterbeer and chocolate frog ice cream topped with colored sprinkles some whipped cream and a cherry in a chocolate bowl. It sounded like what a little hyper child would order. Yet here she was, ice cream in hand making her way towards an empty table outside Florean's.

Surprisingly Hady found herself a small table off to the side. The large umbrella that was set at the table gave the perfect shade from the early afternoon sun that she needed. Setting her bag which contained a full day's worth of shopping around down on a chair she placed her ice cream down on table. Sitting down she lifted the spoon taking a nice mouthful of the cold sweet treat. YUM!

Enjoying her ice cream she pulled out a sheet of parchment from her bag along with a quill, hazel eyes scanning over the list. What all did she still need to do?

Once he snapped his fingers, it took her enough time to notice. She inspected her fingers? Who was she? Like miss drama queen or something? He couldn't help it but he rolled his eyes back at her. He chuckled at her question. She wasn't serious? "Well judging by how you acted let's go with literal. Someone is lost in their head.." Now that he could see clearly. He saw her putting the menu into her pocket. He gave her a "what in the name of merlin are you doing?" look.

Aslan Evans was anything but spoiled, or for that matter- rich, but even if she were aware of the boy's assumption she would not have righted it. Aslan believed, quite firmly in subjectivity and that meant other people's opinions were decidedly their own and not meant for her to change. Her image, after all, did not belong to her. Shrugging with indifference Aslan glanced away from the uninteresting boy to the shop again. The line had grown rather long, too long for her liking.

"Yes, I was." She replied absently, unbothered by the look he threw her way soon after. His judgement, though unsurprising, meant very little to her.

"You look amazing as well!" Was that too much to say? Oops. "No, no. I know what you mean. It's alright! You're perfect!" she blinked a little before blushing more. She looked away with her bright blue eyes and just let the gaze upon the table for a moment or two before looking back up at him. "I just felt like I needed a change." A fresh new start.

Emmylou shook her head and let out a light giggle. "It's alright, I don't mind. We haven't seen each other in a few years." the Southern belle blushed. "I wish I could say great but I've been a lot better." she shrugged. She wished her life was different and even if her and Kace could still be together but she was happy to be a mother, no matter how hard it was to her. The only thing that really bugged her lately was when people would tell her to get over Kace or to find someone new. She knew that she would never stop loving Kace but she also knew that she would find someone knew that will never leave her but at the end of the day she had to worry about her son and not dating.

Simon was almost a deep shade of red but he was very, very relieved when she said that she understood him. Phew. Fortunately, he hadn't put his foot completely in his mouth.... yet. He imagined Grayson Whitlock (ladies man of the century :eyebrows:) giving him a half thumbs up for not being a complete idiot. Oh Merlin. He watched Emmy glance away, curiously wondering what could be on her mind. A fresh start he repeated in his mind. A fresh start for what? For their lives after Hogwarts... It had been a while since they had been there. He frowned slightly, wondering what she was thinking about and hoping that he could help her with whatever had troubled her. He liked helping people-- sometimes to his own detriment. Merlin. He had been in love infatuated with scary Agatha Hapagood for several years at Hogwarts.

It had been way too long since the two had actually seen each other. This saddened Simon; however, he knew that they were all bound to go off in their separate directions one day. That was the great journey of life. You made friends and had adventures and then you went off on your own adventure. And then death came for you. He frowned a little at this thought as he thought of his dear Ancient Runes Professor that had passed away a summer ago. Though Simon didn't think of death as the end, death was only the beginning of something new. However, whether or not this idealist notion was true, it comforted him greatly.

"Been a lot better? What happened? Is it about you and Kace?" he asked before realizing that this was probably a very sensitive topic. Eyes widening at this very thought, he quickly spoke again, "Don't feel as if you have to tell me. Apologies for that question. It's not my place to ask so many questions. Sorry, Emmy." He paused, glancing down at his hands. Stupid mind always racing and leaping to conclusions that could potentially hurt the people he cared about.

Colt gave this girl props for admitting she was lost in the head. Least she could admit her faults. He kept observing her and wondered how could someone get so lost in their head in a busy place like this. Like if the building burned down, would she notice? "Whatever." he muttered. He could care less making an impression now.

He didn't care anymore with this one. He got up from his chair and waited on the line. He felt it was too long. According to ditzy over here, she could wait all day and possibly care less. He shrugged away from her and went to cut the line. Might as well use his new yorker cutting line skills for a purpose. He inched his way up to the counter and made it up there.

Was he annoyed? He seemed quite annoyed, though Aslan hardly understood why. She had answered his question and given him her attention for however long the brief back-and-forth had lasted. Tucking her unruly hair behind her ear, Aslan watched the boy with vague interest as he cut through the line to the counter.

It was only then she realized he was American.

This was a natural sort of thing with them, she'd read about it in the prophet the other week, but hadn't given much thought to it at all until now when it was being proved right before her. Rude? No, Aslan didn't consider it so, but she hardly considered it at all beyond what it meant about the boy.

Clicking her tongue absently, Aslan stepped up right beside him at the counter and raised an eyebrow.

Her name wasn't found very often in sports magazines anymore, but he found this rumor blurb about her joining Cannons practices to be interesting, especially as they were speculating her return to the game. Well. He knew the truth about that.

He was so involved in the magazine that he hadn't even noticed Kat until she sat down next to him and spoke his name. Looking up suddenly, he turned and gave the girl a grin. "Hey, Kat! How's summer going?" She certainly was welcome company. And he wouldn't mind catching up with her a little bit as he hadn't seen her in a while.

But not more than a moment passed before a younger boy had stopped at their table asking to join them. The more the merrier, right? And was that a canary on the kid's shoulder? Cool. "Yeah, sure, have a seat," the fifteen year old grinned at the boy. "I'm Henry and this is my good friend Katerina," he added as an introduction, gesturing to the girl sitting with him.

This place looked like a good place to relax for a second."

Brrr the ice cream was cold, but it was good for a hot day like today. When she sat down she she peeked over at the magazine Henry was reading, She couldn't read upside down, so she was just looking. When the older Hufflepuff spoke Katerina looked up and grinned. "It's been a lot of fun.How about yours?" Summer was flying by really and that was not so fun,

Mmm, Kat smiled at the arrival of the other boy, "Hey JP. is that short for anything?" Her dad was Jonathan Patrick and some people called him JP. She just shrugged it off and laughed slightly at the younger boys comment on being a first year. "We were all there at one time, but it's okay." She patted the boy on the back, Keep your chin up kid.

With all this thoughts on his mind, Hugo was halfway through his ice cream and holding Cornelius' with his other hand while waiting for the Slytherin to show up and he didn't had to wait much 'cause soon enough Cornelius was there. Hugo got up -ice cream cones in both hands- and turned around grinning, "Cornelius!" and gave him a hug. A bro hug, yeah. "Take this one, it's yours. You like chocolate, right?" If not, well, they had a problem.

Cornelius was growing up fast that Hugo noticed some puberty signs on his face. "What's up with the spots?" said with a small laugh. Tough days, tough days.

Okay, okay. Cornelius would not admit it, the hug was appreciated. A bro hug, that is. HE ALREADY MISSED HIS BRO.

"Thanks!" The ice cream cone was happily taken by the fourteen year old, whom didn't wait to lick some of it as he took a seat. He was always hungry. Chocolate was perfect. Anything with large amounts of sugar was.

Mid lick the Slytherin paused, his hand shooting up to cover his forehead. "Can you see it?!" his voice held a bit of panic. Terrible it would be if Dalia or Katerina were around and saw the MONSTER on his forehead. "They popped up one day and -- ugh. Puberty SUCKS." He huffed the way teenagers did -- exasperated, as if it was the end of the world. "Any tips on how to get rid of these?" he said, removing his hand and pointing at his face.

Spots needed to go FAST. BYE. ADIOS. SHOO. LATER TIL NEVER.

This was how their friendship worked and even if other people didn't necessarily understand it, at least THEY did. "You are far from innocent Aditya Rehman. You are also wrong about orange being the best colour. You lose and owe me a Chocolate Frog." MWAHAHA.

Snort.

He had known what she meant. It was just all a surprise! "I'm really happy for you guys, you know. I think that it's about time you two tied the knot!" Honestly she hadn't been sure which one of them would pop the question, but her money had been more on Adi than Benny. "Of course I will help! Don't be silly." She was bouncing up and down in excitement.

SQUEAAAAAAL.

Chocolate frogs?

Don't mind if Adi threw a few in there to bet. "We'll have all the competitions. I expect I won't have to buy Frogs anytime again because I'll be winning them all from you.'' LOLOL. "Oh, yeah? I can argue that you're wrong and get the Frog from you now.'' Cue another innocent smile.

"You could have convinced me to do it earlier then,'' Adi teased, quite enjoying her reaction to his news. And she'll help! WOOT! He was SUPER pleased! "How about after we have ice cream? Unless you have something else to do?'' The guy looked hopefully at her. "And you'll be the best girl at the wedding, right?'' Hehe.

He figured he might as well play along. He knew his tactic would work somewhat. Usually girls liked the guys who had their own mindset. They usually don't like clingy and talkative ones. Casually placing a check-mark near one of the things on her list to indicate that she had done that already she set down her quill. Another spoonful of ice cream was eaten as hazel eyes drifted down the list once more. Between the eating of ice cream and going over the list the person behind her went unnoticed until they spoke.

"It is," Hady answered an instant smile forming on her lips. She knew the voice but hadn't seen the person in awhile. "Thanks, Yoongi. How're you doing? What have you been up to lately?" He was in Uni now wasn't he? Shifting in her chair and sitting up straighter the parchment and quill was pushed aside. Right now her attention was on catching up with her friend and well the slowly melting ice cream before her which she then took another bite of.

His real brothers were annoying so that wasn't a lie, but the pretend ones eating ice cream right now weren't going to say a word.

Miranda smiled. Miranda settled and leaned back in her seat as she scooped tiny bits of sweetness into her mouth as she waited for his response and/or questions..

Context clues told her it had something to do with, well, resurrecting stuff but it wasn't something she'd come across before and to say she was now interested would be a vast understatement of how deep her curiosity ran.

Equally as stunning? Derf was agreeing to be her experiment!! "Eeep! You mean it??" Pale eyes lit up. It was always hard to find willing volunteers, even harder to find ones that would let a First Y--wait, no, she was a Second Year now, yeah? Did that carry more clout? This was something she'd have to look into.

Content with this new information, the little girl popped another spoon of ice-cream into her mouth, taking a moment to savour it. Mmm, strawberry. "I'll only practice the most safe things on you, promise. Think of how much we'll learn!!" Naturally, she'd wanna get as much as she could out of these. Naturally. "When are you planning to get your wand?"

The brunette woman glanced up at him, she was still pretty sure her cheeks were a light pink. "How have you been?" Had she asked that already? Possibly but her mind was all over the place right now. "Are you doing well? What are you doing now? Do you have a job?" Now it was her asking way too many questions at once. Her cheeks started turning red. "Oh my goodness, I am so, so, so sorry for prying. You don't have to tell me if you don't want to. I'm not trying to force you to tell me anything." She could how warm her cheeks were now.

Emmylou shook her head. "No, no. It's not a bother at all. I really don't mind you asking." If she did mind him asking her all of these questions she would have left already. "We just started seeing less and less of each other." She shrugged. "We were both at university and I was on the other side of the world for my campus and he was back here in the England area." they still saw each other but it was still a toll on the both of them. "It just went down hill when I got pregnant. He was talking to be anymore and I barely saw him so I broke up with him in a note because he was never around to say it in person." she wished it would have ended differently and some nights she wish she had never gotten pregnant at all but she loves her son so much.

Yoongi looked at the ice cream in front of Hady and wondered yet again why people liked those kind of sugary food. If it hadn't been for the shop selling sugar free ice cream he wouldn't have even been here.

"What are you shopping for?" he asked as he bit in to the ice cream and closed his eyes tightly a second later. Brain Freeze! Slowing down on eating and rubbing his forehead, it took a couple of more seconds it was gone and he took another big bite.

Brain freeze? Brain freeze!

"It hurts but i can't stop eating, you know?" he laughed. Leaning backwards in the chair, he shrugged his shoulders. "I'm okay" actually he was amazing. "I passed my second year exam at the University and i'm beginning my third year after the holidays" so exciting! "You? What have you been up to when i was gone?" he asked "And how's your Animagus training going?"

Simon chuckled, enjoying all of her questions. "Oh no, no, I don't mind all the questions, Emmy," he said with a kind grin. Where to begin to answer all of those questions? He paused momentarily. "I have been well. I'm still solving cases with Ethan Mordaunt but that's more of a side job recently thanks to studies. About a month ago, I graduated from a Wizarding University in France and will be teaching at Beauxbatons as an Assistant Professor for Ancient Runes. I imagine I'll also be helping out some other Professors while I'm there. It's more so an experience to get my feet wet with it. I'm very excited." He couldn't wait to start working. Beauxbatons would certainly be a unique opportunity and, hopefully, it could lead him to greater ones. What else had he been up to? Oh right. Love life. "I've seen a couple people here and there but nothing has really worked out. And my sister is off to Hogwarts this September so I'm over here getting her set up." He was being a good brother as always. Their other brother, Marcus, was probably off galavanting with some new girl and their father didn't understand the magical world so it was up to Simon to help steer Olivia in the right direction.

It was his turn to listen now to her answer his question. Wow. He was utterly... speechless. He hadn't expected Kace and Emmy to break up. And they separated when Emmy was pregnant. "Merlin, Emmy...." He didn't know what to say. That sounded like a tough life. Was she happy though? he hoped so. "That's tough. I'm sorry to hear about you and Kace but a child-- that's brilliant. I'm sure you're a wonderful mother. Though it must be tough to raise a child all by yourself. What's your child's name?"

Hady had always been about sugar and sweet things. Candy, coffee, cookies and all things yummy. However she had dialed it back a great deal and even cut sweets out completely for months during her past animagus training. Today was just one of those 'I'm going to eat this and deal with the consequences later' type of days.

Taking another spoonful of her ice cream and swallowing she smiled. "I needed more parchment and ink for sending out owls. Gifts for my little siblings, food and treats for my pets. Getting a jump start at getting what I'll be needing for attending Uni soon." So it wasn't so much as needed stuff but more of things to get out of the way early on.

Glancing at Yoongi after a few more mouthfuls of ice cream she laughed softly. Ah, the typical brain freeze. You weren't eating your treat right if you didn't get one of those! "I do that all the time. You tell yourself to slow down but you can't." Luckily those little pains from the coldness of the ice cream didn't last all that long.

"Third year?! Already?" Hady laughed looking across the table at him. Where in the world had the time gone? "I'm doing amazing. I was head girl this past term and Frankie was head boy." Surely he remembered Franklin Paton? "I passed my NEWTs and I'll be attending Uni this fall (when the term begins?LOL)." Wow saying that out loud sounded so strange to her ears. Everything was going so quickly. A grin spread across her lips at the mention of Animagus training. "Finished. Highly nerve-wrecking and scary at times but successful and completed." She could show him if he liked.

Henry closed his magazine and pushed it off to the side since he now had company and would rather talk than read anyway. “Summer’s been great so far,” he turned to Kat with a grin. “My family went to Rhodes for a few days for a little vacation. Benton got to come too. And I’ve been super busy with Quidditch too. You’re going to come to a game, right?” He really liked it when friends came to watch. It made playing even better.

“Nice to meet you, too, JP.” Henry gave the younger boy a smile and reached for his extended hand to shake it. Oh, first year? The fifteen year old might have guessed it, but one could never be too sure and he didn’t like to assume. He also wondered what JP might be short for. “Yep, this is a great place for a break. Going to get some ice cream? It’s the best here.” Henry grinned again before taking another bite of his chocolate frog ice cream. The other boy probably knew that anyway. Unless he was muggleborn or just moved here, Henry would guess that he had probably already visited Florian’s at some point in his life.

LOL! Adi was so ridiculous. Lux couldn't stop laughing. "Actually, I think you will be buying them out of business because you will owe me so many by the time we are done." Uh huh. There was no way that she was going to take less than what she won and she would be winning a LOT of them. "And I'll argue that you are wrong about saying I'm wrong and get a SECOND one from you." BEAM. He was going to have to try harder to fool her.

More laughter followed the next comment. "Well, I didn't think to. Besides I didn't know which one of you would propose... though I had a feeling it would probably be you." That didn't really matter so much, however; the important thing was that it was happening. She gave her best friend a BIG HUG. "Yes, that sounds great! Now get me my ice cream." Kidding! Only kidding. "I had better be your best girl." Haha. Honestly Lux would have been okay if he had picked someone else to be, but she was very happy and honored that he wanted HER.

Oh looky! He made the girl bestie laugh like crazy! Wasn't he just that awesome? But gosh, wasn't Lux always so confident like Bitty? "Maaaybe. But they'll be solely for me, not you.'' Adi wiggled his brows. "I think we need a mediator... someone who knows that I'm right, don't you think?''

That comment earned Lux a poke in the arm. "You could have gotten treated to a lot of ice cream way sooner.'' He laughed. Adi had actually kept the proposal for this year because he thought it would be perfect. On the day of Benny's birthday and almost at the start of their final year at University. Plus maybe it would keep others from flirting with Benny when they saw a ring on his finger <_<

"Yep, I just knew I had to be the one to propose.'' He grinned as he gave Lux one of his squishy hugs. "Lots of ice cream coming up for the best girl!'' Adi didn't even need to ask what flavour she wanted. He just went off to get it.

Yoongi ate the last bit of the sugar free ice cream and with a quick wave of his wand, he vanished the plastic spoon and placed his wand back in his wrist holster. "Which University are you going to?" he asked. It would be amazing if she were to go to Edinburgh. He could show her around first day!

Yoongi laughed and nodded at her little outburst. Yes, third year. "Time flies doesn't it" he said and looked around him at his surroundings for a moment, not speaking but just looking. After a second or 5 , he looked back at the ex slytherin. "It feels like we met only last week, not three years ago" Merlin how had time flown by.

Head Girl. Was Hady actually telling him that like he, she had been a student leader as well? A huge, positive smile appeared on his face and he clapped his hands a few times to applaud her."Did they throw food at you as well?" or the Head Boy? Which he now heard had been "The boyfriend" he smirked and wiggled his eyebrows.

And to top that information of, she had also finished her Animagus training and Yoongi was inpressed again. "And?"he asked. "What animal can you transform in to? And can i see it now?" she was off age now right?

At least Cornelius did liked chocolate, so they didn't have to throw it away in case he didn't, which would have been a shame because it was ice cream, it was food, you don't throw away food. He gave a nod and finished his ice cream.

Hugo laughed at Cornelius' reaction. He had always had these type of reactions, well, over reactions would be a better way to describe them. It was funny tho. "Yeah, a bit" it didn't looked that bad but then again, the hair was covering it. Part of it at least. He remembered his puberty days. Oh those days. His voice became deeper and sexier, he became taller which was very well appreciated and also got some spots, but not that much to be honest. "But you are taller now and your voice is changing. Girls like that" they do. And also, Hugo remembered that Corn liked someone, right? A certain Hufflepuff girl.

"You can try muggle stuff, like spot cream. They work" or at least it said so "Or some potion, I guess. I think my sister have some of it" beauty potions and stuff like that. "But don't worry, they'll be gone. Stay away from dairy products tho" he had learned that dairy would give more spots than necessary. "So, what you've been up to?"

Colt rolled his eyes playfully. "Your one of those people who only gets the plain flavors. Be original and get like cookie dough or mint chocolate chip.." He didn't know where those flavors came from but those were his favorites. He was giving her a hard time but she did a bit. Soo all is fair. When he finally knew her name, it sort of clicked in his brain. "Now Aslan sounds familiar.." he muttered. "Yeah yeah we have seen each other before in classes.." Without a doubt. Maybe she dated a guy he knew. He didn't know. "I probably didn't pay much attention though because I might have been napping in the back of the class.." he admitted jokingly. Nahh he paid attention when he wanted to. "Which house are you in again?" He thought she might be a slytherin but he could be wrong.

This girl was either really gullible or just having a good time. Kyle was actually having fun with this and wondered how long he could keep it up. "He says your welcome and he's headed to the quidditch shop." He gave a wave like he was saying goodbye before he took another big bite of ice cream. "My family is really into quidditch, is yours?" He actually wasn't all that into flying, but he knew others could be and at least some of his brothers seemed to like it.

Oh yes Miranda she was one of the smarter students. He glanced around wondering if anyone noticed he was sitting with a smart girl. "I'm Kyle. I'm in Gryffindor." He wasn't really social in classes so maybe she knew that but maybe she didn't. "Are you enjoying your summer?" He was even though he was left to fend for himself at the moment.

Hadleigh watched Yoongi simple vanish his spoon and things a small smile on her face. It was so nice being of age and bring able to do magic whenever she liked. Her ice cream eating appeared to be slower today but that was completely alright with her given the very welcoming company she had. "The Wizarding University in London. Where Lux, Adi and Benny are." That's usually how she explained it whenever asked. Where her 'siblings' were.

"It sure does! I remember when you were in Hogwarts with me and now I'm not even there anymore." Hady was stuck with a brief moment of sadness at some of the memories but it all was quickly pushed aside. There was no need to be upset about moving forward as everyone did. "I know the feeling. I've been feeling that way all year long."

Hady smiled laughing softly at the clapping. Of course Yoongi would be proud of her for having become Head Girl. "No but we did have a rather eventful term." A poltergeist wedding and a child poltergeist. Stranger things have happened, yes but that in itself was very memorable. The eyebrow wiggling didn't go unnoticed and once again she found herself laughing. "Yes the boyfriend." The one she was very proud of.

Some might have thought that her training and becoming an animagus hadn't taken very long at all when really it had taken years. Everything had to be perfectly. Just one tiny mistake and the entire thing was messed up. Both Frankie and herself had been very lucky with it all. "My form is that of a Red Panda." It hadn't at all been what she had expected but now she absolutely loved it and couldn't imagine being anything else. "Sure, I can show you now if you like." Changing into her animal form was something she loved to do.

Unless he was muggleborn or just moved here, Henry would guess that he had probably already visited Florian’s at some point in his life.

J.P. Shook the boys hand and sat down. "I hear the Ice Cream is good. I've had it before I think. So, what's it like? My dad has told me so many stories about it. He was a Gryffindor. My mother was a Ravenclaw." J.P. was excited to hear about where he'd spend so much of his time. This boy looked really nice. It would be cool to have an older person as a friend in the big school.

J.P. felt relief that both of the older students were accepting him even though he was young. He looked toward the girl. "Yes, it stands for Jean Paul actually. It was my grandfather's name. Quite the legacy to live up to. How about you? What's your name? I also asked what house he was in" JP looking over and gesturing to the boy, realizing that he hadn't gotten his name. "What was your name again? Sorry, you must have said it but I must've forgotten." He blushed a little feeling embarrassed for not remembering the boys name.

He actually wasn't all that into flying, but he knew others could be and at least some of his brothers seemed to like it.

Taking another big bite of ice cream he grabbed his forehead. "Ice cream headache." Ouch..

Miranda found this kid entertaining and she saw no harm in going along with his rouse... " Ah... fine sport, quidditch.. I like watching well enough, but sadly never really played. Well..

The boy ate his ice cream, hand still over his forehead. His stomach sunk. If Hugo was telling him the red spot showed then it must be true. The boy held on to the former Slytherin's word more than he demonstrated. Wasn't ashamed of it, though. Hugo was awesome. There was no questioning it.

"As long as I keep it covered, I suppose. My dad made me have a haircut." With his fingers he combed his curls over the pimple, hoping his dark locks would dazzle and divert attention from acne. A smirk stretched the boy's lips. Girls like that, eh? "They do, don't they?"

Funny that Hugo brought that up because that's exactly what the boy wanted to discuss.

"My sisters bathed me in beauty stuff and I felt like a girl. I like girls, I don't want to feel like one." Thank you very much. "Mum dabbed potion on it but I want it gone now." It was a hard life, you know? For a Cornelius Orion Baltazar. Especially when his family frequented the main pages of magazines and tabloids. Hugo says to stay away from dairy products because it'll make acne worst? Cornelius was already planning to get rid of dairy foods.

Right after devouring this ice cream, which didn't take long. The growing boy ate it up in moments. Besides, they had reached a topic of interest.

"Quidditch, family and girls." Green eyes looked up with Hugo. "I need girl help." There it was. Boom.

Uh huh. Those Chocolate Frogs would be all HERS and there was nothing that he could do about it. Lux knew what Adi was up to and she was not going to play into his hands. Nope. She had another idea. "I think we should ask Bay." Innocent smile towards her bestie. As her fiance, Bay would know what was up and who was right in all this. Hehehe. She was sooooo clever. Beam.

The temptation for lots of ice cream was real, but Lux honestly hadn't known when a proposal would have been planned; for one thing she was busy with both school and planning HER wedding. There was not a lot of time to spare for other things though she DID try to fit in her friends as much as possible. "Well, you could have told me about your plans sooner." SO THERE! She had him beat again and deserved a third Chocolate Frog. Something that she was about to point out to him when he kept talking about the proposal. It could wait for a moment. "You need to tell me all about your plan when you come back with the ice cream."

Like a good best friend he already knew what flavour to get her.

She was a quidditch person, well that was an easy guess being a witch and all. There weren't many that weren't a fan. Plus it was a good conversation starter. Thanks to his brother he learned that little trick early. "Oh yeah I don't play much. I watch my brothers when they have their fun, but never really cared to be on the broom." He went up a few times, but not his thing. "I think I'd fit in with your family very well." He sometimes didn't feel like he did his own.

"It's nice to officially meet you too." He couldn't say meet since he had seen her in class, but he finally got to say her name and smile directly at her for once. "Yeah? Which Gryffindors I might know them." Unless they were in his year he probably didn't though. He didn't really take the time to get to know students like he should.

Snort.

Did Lux really think that he was going to ask Bay? Gosh, he couldn't even ask Benny because his boyfriend's favourite colour was blue too :x3: Thankfully Lux didn't remember THAT! Hopefully she would continue to forget about that bit of information  "We'll ask Hades. She'll be sure to agree it's orange.'' Mhmm!

Théo was in heaven. He had his favorite ice cream and nothing could bring down his mood. At least he hoped. He was sitting down swinging his legs and watching people walk by. He had a little time to himself before he had to go to his mom across the street. He cant stray too far away or she would get mad.

People watching was boring.

How did anyone enjoy this. Nothing was happening and all they did was walk to the place they were going to.

Well it could be worse. He could have no ice cream

Raven/Ava ^^

Things had been rocky for the two but, being a Romalotti, Phillip knew exactly how to woo his girl. Whatever would Uncle Asher say if he didn't? Dishonour on the entire family? His Italian heritage? Psh, he couldn't risk that.

So, carrying two bowls of ice cream, Phillip wandered out towards the courtyard in tow with one of his favourite Gryffindors. The ice cream at Floreans probably wasn't as great as the gelato he'd had in Italy last year but the setting sure did make up for it. Look at the umbrellas! There was no way the girl could be upset after this.

And speaking of, he turned towards her and said, "After you, babe." As in, pick a seat. His hands were a little full right now.

Her summer wouldn't be completed without having a date with her lovely boyfriend. Things were a little bit difficult between both of them before, but Ava just couldn't stay mad at Phillip forever. It wasn't his fault and he'd also apologized and being honest at her. Let's just forget about that.

Okay, maybe because she was just too love with him.

So here they were now, at the Florean's having ice cream together. This ice cream parlor was very crowded on summer because hello.... Summer without ice cream was just like herself without Phillip pancakes without syrup... There's something missing. But fortunately they could get a seat at the courtyard and their favorite ice cream. Of course that her boyfriend would order her favorite one; strawberry cheesecake! "Thanks, honey." The Gryffindor sneaked a kiss on his cheek before she took a seat. Awwww... How she loved when he called her 'babe'!

It was so nice to come to Diagon alley get some ice cream and run into a friend from school. Especially when she was getting ready to head to Italy. The fourth year smiled hearing Henry's reply to how his summer was going. "That sounds fun. My family will be heading to Italy." Yes it was the same place every year, every Christmas. But it was almost like a second home to her. "Of course, I wouldn't miss it." She had been planning all summer to go to a match.

Jean Paul? Did that mean he was french? Not that she could tell just by his name. "I'm Katerina, Kat." She said with a small smile. She didn't mind if people wanted to call her Katerina it was fine either way. She took a few more bites of her ice cream. "Yes the ice cream is the best." Not as good as gelato but it was the best that was here.

He turned to Kat again as he finished up his ice cream and she mentioned about going to Italy. "Oh, I should have guessed," he grinned. "I know you go there every year. Miranda nodded at the names that Kyle rattled off... She did know OF these people, though they didn't really travel within the same social circles really." Mhmm.. Pfft. Of COURSE Adi was going to bring Hady in on this, expecting her to go with his choice in colour. All that got from Lux was an amused eyeroll because she knew that there was no way it would actually happen. It would be better if Adi just admitted defeat and that blue was CLEARLY the superior colour. There WAS a reason why the sky was blue and not orange!

Her eyes widened, and she eagerly accepted the ice cream that he offered to her. "Thank you!" It was exactly what she had wanted down to the number of scoops. Lux was very pleased, and not just because she now had ice cream. As she started eating, she listened to her friend explain things further. "Well, that is understandable. I am happy that I am the first person you thought to tell." She felt all special inside. Hehe. Wasn't her best friend just wonderful? "Your idea sounds so romantic! Do you already have the songs picked out?" If not, she was totally willing to help him out! "Do you already have a ring?"

Sooooo many questions but she wasn't going to overwhelm him with them all at once.

Simon was doing almost everything that she had wanted to do but she had a little person to take care of so Emmylou wasn't really able to do that. "Oh, wow, all of that sounds so amazing!" She nodded, she wasn't going to admit that she was just a little bit jealous of everything that he had been doing over the years. "That's really nice of you to do for your younger sister." Emmylou smiled at him.

"His name is Mason." Emmylou shrugged at his last comment. "I'm an alright mother." there were times when she thought she was good mother but that was before her own mother had kid knapped her and erased her memories about almost everyone. After that little event happened she felt like the worst mother ever for forgetting about her own son. "Yeah, it's tough, I guess I'm getting through though." she shrugged with a little frown.

A happy Lux!

Woot!

Adi knew just what his girl bestie would need because he knew her well and because he remembered what she had ordered from the last time. LOL! "No problem, Lux!'' Anything for her! "Don't let that swell your head, you know,'' he teased and spooned his first set of ice cream into his mouth. So cold and perfect!

Lux liked his idea! Awesome! "I just have two. I think that's enough.'' Just thinking about the proposal made him excited and a bit nervous. He was sure Benny would say yes but yeah, he still was feeling the nerves. "No ring but would you like to help me pick it out?'' He needed his bestie's help with this for sure!

She nodded, she wasn't going to admit that she was just a little bit jealous of everything that he had been doing over the years. "That's really nice of you to do for your younger sister." Emmylou smiled at him.

Simon shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly at Emmy's statement that it was very nice of him to help his sister. He grinned. "I'd do anything for her." Seriously. She was his little bliss. And someone had to watch her because she had always been a little bit too reckless (by Simon's standards- which wasn't saying much). "It's good for her to be going off to Hogwarts... I'm just worried about her bringing home a guy." He chuckled.

Mason. What a great name. "Mason? A terrific name." Hearing Emmy say that being a mother was tough made Simon's heart go out to her. How he wished so much that he could just blurt out that he would help her but that could seem a little weird. Instead, he nodded. "Yes, I'm sure. If you need anything at all, please let me know. I'm here for you, you know?" he said, giving her a small smile.

Was Adi seriously teasing her about getting a swollen head? Lux couldn't help but laugh at her best friend. "If I did get one, it would match well with yours," she teased back while poking him in the side. It was fun to tease him because of his ego though it was something that she loved him for. At any rate he had bought her ice cream and it was important to be nice to him because otherwise that would be rude; that was something that she never liked being unless it was deserved.

Two was enough, yes. Lux agreed with that. At least Adi seemed to have a plan laid out. All that was missing was the ring, which she was going to help him with so that wasn't a major set back. "Of course I will help you pick the ring out! What songs are you going to play?" Obviously she needed to know that because... she was curious.

Snort.

Him? A big head? Pleeeeeease, Lux!

“I haven’t got a big head,’’ Adi said with a grin. “You and Benny have seen to it that it’s always at it’s right size.’’ Hehe. He nommed on his ice cream, enjoying all the cold. He could eat ice cream all day! “I’m not sure if you’ve heard about the songs. Here to Mars by Coheed and Cambria and Where My Love Goes by Lawson.’’ The one by Lawson was one of Adi’s favourites!

He happily made his way through his ice cream, going through half way through it in no time. “Got time today to go ring shopping? Or should we settle on it for another day?’’

Hehe. Was Adi so sure of that? Lux was only teasing, but it was fun to poke at Adi because he could have quite the ego. Some people might find it annoying, but she found it amusing and rather endearing. Benny probably did too. "Well, that is true. Where would you be without us keeping you on our level?" Weren't they just awesome like that? Smirk. Happily she continued eating her ice cream cone while thinking about the fact that both she and her best friend would be getting married. The thought never crossed her mind that Benny might refuse because everyone and their mother knew that he was too in love to ever do that.

Awww. What great song choices! "Those are great songs and perfect! I am sure that Benny will absolutely love them." Any song would be greatly appreciated as long as it came from the heart, which it definitely WOULD. "This is going to go over amazingly. I can feel it already." Too bad she couldn't be here, but Lux knew to give the lovebirds their privacy. Besides, she might ruin the surprise with all her excitement if she was there! "I can definitely do today if you are up for it." She was assuming that the answer was yes.

Adi’s mouth quite too full to reply to Lux at that moment but he had one planned already. When he finally swallowed, he finally said, “I dunno… maybe floating about in the sky? Ya know, because my big head would be so filled of air, I’d be lifted off the ground.’’ Ehehehe. Wasn’t he just funny?

He loved Lux’s positivity! Adi knew that Benny would accept but it was SUPER nice that Lux had was so excited. He happily continued to polish off his ice cream. “Awesome! Let’s finish up and go then!’’ Cue one happy Adi! Annnd he was quickly in getting that remaining ice cream down. “All done? Let’s go, Lux! Don’t be a slow poke.’’ Not when there was a proposal to be done!

Levi had plenty of things on his list of what to do for summer and one thing near the top was to have ice cream with Etta. And after making arrangements to meet on that particular sunny day, the fourteen year old flooed to Diagon Alley and headed straight for Florean's.

He wasn't sure if she'd think of it as a date or just a casual get together between friends. Maybe he should have made that more clear. But he was treating it as a date. He might not have been so dressed up, but at least his shirt had a collar and he was going to pay and everything.

Once he got there, he looked around to see if she was there yet. No? Should he get a table and wait, or should he let her choose where to sit? He should probably at least wait for her before ordering... but.. oh! That table there! It was getting crowded and one of the best outside tables was opening. He'd better get it know before anyone else had any big ideas about it.

Kolyander 04-14-2017 01:58 PM

Kat!

Between gymnastics and all the family time she had been having during this summer break a girl needed some down time. Which meant she had to slip away from the parents and brothers and treat herself to something cold and full of sugar. Ice cream. Nothing was better on a hot summers afternoon.

Cassie had pulled her long blonde hair up into a ponytail before having gotten in line to order. Today was a chocolate frog and strawberry type of day. There was no skimping on the sprinkles, whipped cream and cherry either. When it came to sweets, Cassie didn't play around and she didn't care what anyone else thought. She worked hard practicing her tush off in gymnastics, swimming, running and everything else to remain fit. This was more then earned today.

Taking the sugary goodness outside to the seating area, Cass searched for an empty table. Finding a small one off to the side she headed straight for it seating her cup of ice cream down and opening the umbrella to toss some shade over her table. Sitting down in one of the chairs she wasted no time in digging into her treat.

Bazinga 04-14-2017 03:04 PM

Walking over to get some ice cream, Natalia had plenty on her mind.
She had just went on her lunch from work and instead of going for actual food, the ice cream called her name. So ordering chocolate frog with caramel on top she made her way to the outside seating. That way she could eat her ice cream and enjoy the sun while it lasted.

Taking her seat she looked around. She was now graduated, now confronted her mother,
and now was making big girl decisions. The band had just had a serious talk and were in a thinking about their future, so she was now full of what if thoughts. What if they didn't continue, what if the Werewolfsnout manager liked them and did ask them to continue on the tour, what if she ended up going solo or her and Lily went as a duo, because the other members couldn't continue? So many questions, so many choices.

Jace was just.. wandering really. The fifteen year old was rather bored, his brothers had abandoned him at the Quidditch store and his parents were no where to be seen..

The dark haired boy was just about to head to the music store, one of the only places in this alley where he actually felt at home, when he spotted the second place that he loved to be..

Ice cream!

He walked in and grabbed a scoop of chocolate and vanilla and then settled down in the courtyard to eat it..

His grey eyes lazily looked around as he spooned some ice cream into his mouth.. maybe he would see some of his family? Eh..

Scarlett was in serious need of some retail therapy, because she was having the WORST WEEK EVER. No, worst MONTH really. Despite the copious amounts of color correcting makeup slathered on her face right now, her eyes still were puffy from all the crying she'd done over Jimmy freaking Gladin ever since they'd broken up. Could you even call it breaking up if only one of you considered it a relationship? Ugh. She had to stop. If she started dwelling on that stupid boy AGAIN, she'd start crying right here and that was no good.

Thankfully, her parents had seen how distraught she'd been over the whole thing and had given her some extra spending money, so she decided to grab some ice cream. Chocolate peanut butter today, nice and classic - except there was NO WHERE to sit. Literally NO WHERE.

Really? Just add it to the list of things that were awful right now. Sigh.

Approaching a kid who looked to be about her age, she looked down at the seat opposite him. "Hi. Mind if I sit here?" she asked him. She could just take it and go...

Jace was barely even paying attention to all the people that were milling around, he was just enjoying his ice cream and lost in his own world.. Occasionally he would see people walk by and his mind would instantly make up stories about them..

Like that dark haired girl who had just fallen over, her bright eyes looked sad.. and he had and idea that she had just lost the man she loved..

So sad..

He was tempted to pull out his notepad when a girl settled into the seat next to him.

"Not at all, help yourself. " Jace replied with a casual wave of his hand.

This was already a mistake, because Scarlett shouldn't have picked a BOY to sit with. He was a boy like Jimmy. UGH WHY WAS THIS SO DIFFICULT? Still, she'd talked to him, and now she was sitting down, and if she got up and walked away after that...well, that would be weird. And embarrassing. And what if this kid went to Hogwarts and they ran in to each other in the halls? That'd be EXTRA embarrassing, and at school, she had a REPUTATION to uphold. This could all become a spiraling disaster just like EVERYTHING ELSE in her life right now. BIG SIGH.

"So, um...shopping for school?" she asked, trying to make conversation. She took a bite of her ice cream, smiling a bit as she did so. At least her ice cream tasted just as delicious as she had hoped it would.

Etta was having a really good summer, to say the least. She'd been made prefect... PREFECT. She honestly still couldn't believe it. It was one of the happiest things that had happened in her life and she felt extremely proud of herself. Also, she was getting to see Levi very soon, which was just as exciting.

The girl still wasn't sure what he was .. definitely not a boyfriend but more than a friend? So what did that make him? Because you don't normally spend hours choosing an outfit for just a friend, right? Heh. She would have to give it a little more thought later. She entered the ice-cream parlour where they had agreed to meet, unable to keep the smile off her face as she spotted him sitting at one of the outside tables.

.... wow, he really looked cute. Still smiling, she slowly made her way over to where he sat, her cheeks turning mildly pink. "Hi."

TEST SUBJECT (Derf)

There was no time to waste on silly decisions of orders,
especially not when you'd been having ice-cream with your bestfriend for literal years and had a fair idea of the flavours he would have preferred.
Jessa sat with the large sundae before her, a spoon laid on each side and two cherries perched precariously at the top.

She'd gotten someone to cast a charm to ensure it wouldn't be melting any time soon because just maybe Derf was making that effort to find someone before he got here which would make him later than the half an hour she'd given him.

While she waited, the Third Year fished a crumpled parchment from her pocket filled with all the jottings she'd done after getting back from RJ's place. Derf seemed to have a hard time understanding when she'd first explained the ideas to him, here's to hoping this (and the ice-cream) would bring a bit more clarity.

If not, she had no qualms about clueless test subjects. The rats from the dungeon back at Hogwarts seldom knew what they were being used for anyway.

One of her favorite things in Diagon Alley? The ice cream of course! There was nothign like the ice from Florean's, and so it was exactly where Harriet was headed today. She had done most of her school shopping now, and so she wanted to have a chill day, and spent some time eating ice cream. it was going to be a great day! She had ordered, and got her ice cream, and headed out to the courtyard. She was planning on doing some people watching as she sat eating her ice cream. People watching was one of her favorite past times to do too, when she wasn't painting.

The blonde sat herself down at one of the tables, and pulled her sunglasses on so that they covered her face. She looked totally cute now. And then she began licking at her ice cream. Yum.

A trip to Diagon Alley would not be complete without ice cream. Olly had come to pick up a few things. Books, potions ingredients, new robes, candy, stuff like that. He was sixteen now and perfectly capable of a day of shopping on his own. His dads were going to pick him up later for a family dinner somewhere in London, but for now he had a couple more hours to himself. Of course he decided to get ice cream.

Olly brought his ice cream outside to sit, because it was too nice to be inside of course. He thought he might draw a bit. Though that would have to wait until he had finished his ice cream because those were two things that didn't really work well together. He glanced around the seating area, assuming it would probably be likely to spot a familiar face. This was prime time for Hogwarts students, after all. No one he knew super well, but there was Hattie. Fellow artist and close friends with Noelle. Olly approached her table.

"Hi," he greeted with a smile. "Mind if I sit?"

Jace was happily unaware of her inner war and was attempting to be polite and not bury himself in his writing or his music.. Which he shouldn't have brought along today but..

"Oh, no.. My brothers abandoned me on our trip out to the music store, so I'm here getting ice cream and hoping that they'll show up.. you?" " The dark haired boy asked.. feeling like he should make conversation with the random girl that sat down across from him..

Was only right yeah?

"I'm Jace by the way. " He said with an easy grin as he shoved some more ice cream into his mouth and grinned.. his grey eyes lighting up ever so slightly...

The twelve year old had never been so confused in all of his life and it was apparent on his face as he made his way to Florean Fortescue's in search of a certain blonde Ravenclaw. First his kiss with Aqua the dolphin apparently did not count as a kiss...but they had been mouth to mouth and it had been all wet and salty so it was hard to understand WHY it didn't count. Then Jessa had mentioned something about experimentation and that he better not throw up...and it was just a lot for one little blonde boy to take in.

No. Really. Why didn't his kiss with Aqua count?

Spotting her, he waved his arms enthusiastically to make COMPLETE sure to draw her attention his way. "JESSA HI!" he chirped, with loads more arm waving, as he made his way over and immediately plopped down in the seat next to her. "Why do I need to find someone I like AND kiss-s-ss them?" Because that was kind of a long confusing list already. He liked loads of people already - including Jessa - so how did one pick? And did that mean he needed to kiss Professor Hirsch because he quite liked that man too. But one question at a time. Rapid questions in succession were sort of his best friend's thing.

Theeeeere he was. Jessa beamed at her bestfriend as he waved over at her, admittedly a little relieved he hadn't gone off to find someone and left her waiting. Like they'd already said, it could wait a little.
They still needed to work out the logistics of it and for a large part, the girl still needed to revisit the structure of the assessments. So yeah, he still had plenty of time...in theory.

She offered him his spoon once he'd taken a seat, ready for any and all questions he may have had--and the look on his face told her he had plenty.

As it turned out, the first question wasn't so hard to answer. The young girl took a spoon of the mixed flavoured sundae, allowing herself an extra moment to think over the answer. It was out of care more than anything else. Derf was a friend. The last thing she wanted was for him to grow as despondent as RJ had. Merlin she'd just feel a million times worse.

"Because for as much as I'm a bad person, I don't wanna be a bad person to you 'cause you're my bestfriend. It would be an objectively bad thing to take your first kiss--don't even mention Aqua--for an experiment if you wanna save it for some time special or something. 'Cause what if you look back one day and think about it and realize you're actually upset you wasted in on fueling my knowledge of concepts??" By the end, her eyes
had widened with genuine concern. She would not let her friend live with regrets.

If the blank stares while on two-way mirror call with Jessa had not spelled out his confusion enough, the look he wore on his face now made such sentiment undeniable because WHAT? Failing to notice the spoon being offered to him, the 12-year-old's jaw dropped when his FIRST best friend went on about how she was a bad person and he was looking at her like she had about two dozen heads.

Hmm...could that, in theory, make Jessa a Cerberus if she DID have more heads? Well...maybe if he was looking at her like she had THREE then it would feel more accurate. Or maybe she was more like a hydra? Because the more she spoke the more heads seemed to be growing out of her shoulders.

He WAS about to mention Aqua, for the record, but she silenced him and his mouth just hung open like a trout's until she was finished.

"But...you're not a bad pers-son...I don't make bes-s-st friends-s with bad people..." he said defiantly despite the trailing off. "Why would you think you were one?"

She was losing him. It was all right there in those eyes that looked at her as if she was a flaming kelpie with five tails. Somewhere in her friend's mind there was a giant roadblock that was effectively ensuring he didn't comprehend more than a quarter of anything she said at a time.
With more insistent movements, Jessa reached over and placed the spoon in Derf's hand. No way she'd be able to finish this sundae on her own.

His protests only garnered a firm shake of her head. "You did. You have one, unless you suddenly decide we aren't bestfriends anymore."
Which in itself was a horrid thought, one she aimed to forget the moment it'd left her lips. To suddenly not be his friend was something beyond her comprehension. "I think I've done something terrible, but it didn't seem terrible at the time." Which, admittedly wasn't much of an explanation when you thought about it.

Blue eyes took in her friend sitting just across from her. She'd promised she wouldn't say anything to anyone but...this was Derf and there weren't very many things she didn't end up telling. "I think I've hurt some people and Lexa wasn't very impressed about it either." Her sister that typically damned nothing. Kinda said a lot. Arisa was plenty proud though.....which....also said a lot.

Derf's eyes only continued to widen as she spoke, soon rivaling those of a mooncalf's. Because HOW could Jessa be a bad person? Summer trip aside - which had been beyond amazing and he had no idea how he was ever going to be able to offer her the same sort of heart beating excitement like globetrotting and kissing dolphins had provided - she was always super nice and encouraging of his curiosity. Sure, she had accidentally poisoned him on occasion...but only because he volunteered to be a test subject for her.

Because he trusted her.

Because she was a good person.

But the more she spoke the more his wild imagination was starting to take hold and get the best of him. Soon he was shoving the spoon in his mouth to hold and grabbing at her left arm and turning it over to LOOK. But there wasn't anything there. So JUST to be sure he grabbed for her other and inspected the forearm there...only to find nothing there as well.

"Do you keep the mark s-somewhere else?" he asked through clenched teeth - because they were holding on to the straw, you see. "Becaus-s-se I don't see a Dark Mark and that's-s the only way you could even come clos-se to being a bad person...or do somefing truly terrible."

"Hi."

Yes! Levi had gotten to the table just before a couple younger girls tried to sit there. Sorry, girls, this was the best table in the courtyard and he was keeping it for himself and his date with Etta. He gave them an apologetic smile and shrug though, even if he wasn't really sorry. There'd be other tables for them to sit at.

He busied himself by looking at the menu, but glanced up every now and then to see if he spotted Etta coming because he didn't want to miss her or be surprised by her sudden appearance at his table. Or, what if she didn't see him... he needed to let her know where he was sitting. At the best table there, FYI. Or! What if she didn't come at all? He started to worry about her standing him up. He had been sitting there for a little while, hadn't he? Or maybe he had just gotten there early and was now obsessing about the time. She'd show up.

And there she was. Levi gave Etta a wave as she walked in, his smile matching hers. "Etta, hi!" That wasn't too enthusiastic, was it? Still trying to play it cool, at least outwardly. "You look really nice.... So how's your summer been so far?" And could she tell that he had gotten them the best table?

What on earth....?

Jessa blinked, watching Derf inspect both arms. A part of her wanted to pull them away, suddenly far more self conscious than she'd been mere moments ago. Another part, however, was insanely curious about what he may have been looking for. Had she gotten something while on vacation that only he remembered--if so, what happened and why didn't she remembered and what was the series of events leading up to it in the first place?

Oh. A dark mark........"Huh...?" She'd never actually come across any readings about dark marks and found herself at a loss as to what he could have been going on about. It was seconds later that the dots began connecting. At this point she withdrew her arms, resting her hands in her lap and away from him. "That's not the only way to be a bad person. You can value results over consequences and end up hurting people by being thoughtless and oblivious." Thoughtless and oblivious on their own were a deadly combination she tried to stay away from. Typically the young girl was capable of processing all outcomes before beginning. This time it just...didn't work that way--which was curious in itself mind you, but that was a study for another day.

"You remember my friend RJ? The one that's in Ravenclaw too?"
The one with a girlfriend; an important note she told herself she'd never forget again.

Aaaaaaaaaand look at that! Jessa had just sprouted three more heads, earning an even more bewildered expression. First she was calling herself a bad person and now she was saying she was thoughtless? But..BUT...Jessa was anything but thoughtless. The day that she was with a blank mind was the day that dementors would start singing Christmas carols. Jessa was kind of oblivious he supposed though, but only because she didn't know EVERYTHING. But that was what he was here for, to help fill in those gaps of information - like he had with fwoopers two summers ago. Well... besides owning the best friend title that is.

Remaining silent at first, because he was still VERY much processing all this, he blinked several times when RJ was brought up. "Um....I fink so..." he nodded. At least he recognized the name even if he did not have a face to go with it. And then a tiny light switched on. Very small. Sort of like his attempts at casting Lumos. "You fink you hurt him?"

At first, it didn't seem like anything she was saying was really getting through to her friend, what with the way his stare seemed to grow more questioning. For a moment, she considered whether she'd have to begin from the very top but at the very last minute Derf finally began grasping at what she'd been saying.

The 13 year old gave a small nod, confirming his suspicion. "I don't think it, I'm pretty sure I did and even more I hurt his girlfriend." Two people in one afternoon, that was how the truly bad conducted business. Yep.

Not willing to give Derf another chance to misinterpret, Jessa opted to continue. There were few things she disliked more than a tease with information, therefore she would not be one, least of all to her bestfriend who was equally curious on any given day of the week.

"He asked me to kiss him and I did--without any care for his girlfriend who wouldn't have liked it one bit." Which she shouldn't have. "And just when he was enjoying it, I had to go open my big mouth and remind him he shouldn't have been liking it but should have been feeling guilty. You should have seen his face after that, Derf. He got so....sad. Then he got to feeling like he let everyone down." Sometimes she spoke without thinki--...most times she spoke without thinking. At the time, she was only trying to be informative.

Based on everything she'd ever read, people didn't typically feel wonderful and insist they didn't feel bad about kissing someone who wasn't their girlfriend. His behaviour hadn't been adding up, which had naturally left her with observations and questions she should have kept to herself.

And then Jesse sprouted about ten new heads at once BECAUSE WHY WAS SHE UPSET ABOUT THIS EXACTLY?! Derf could only stare, dumbfounded, as his friend explained further. But really all it did was bring up MORE questions and confusion because it made no sense to him that Jessa be the one hurting over all this. At least not for the reasons she was listing right now. Dementors singing Christmas carols would almost make more sense to him in the moment.

"But...he asked you to kis-s-ss him," he repeated, tone questioning despite the regurgitation of facts just now. "And he S-SHOULD feel guilty! Grown ups-s-s get divorced over things-s-s like that and they are...they are...GROWN UPS!" The spoon had long fallen out of the second year's mouth by this point and was now laying somewhere on the ground near his chair but he couldn't care less about this because Jessa was UPSET over something that she shouldn't be! There were other reasons to be upset though...just she was looking at the wrong ones. "HE DID LET EVERYONE DOWN!" he continued, haphazardly throwing his arms up into the air and flailing them around like he was swatting away Cornish pixies.

And then it suddenly clicked why Jessa was SO concerned with first kisses and Derf just got sad all over again.

"He was-s-s s-s-selfish and s-stole your first kis-s-ss," he muttered, arms coming back to his lap and tugging on his fingers. "His-s-s s-s-sads were what he asked for...at leas-st...that's-s how I s-see it...it would be like...like...if I as-sked you to get me a s-scoop of blood ice cream and then I ate it and didn't like that it tas-sted like blood!"

The sound of the spoon clattering against the brick flooring beneath them barely registered to the Ravenclaw. Derf's reaction, the yelling especially was slowly bringing her back to all the many ways she'd felt horrible after it'd happened. To have her friend so worked up about something that was her fault--to have her other friend come under cross fire because of her curiosity.

Great going Jessa. Haven't upset enough people in the last week, clearly have to add more. "He didn't let everyone down, he...he was helping me." Her brows furrowed at the reminder. If she hadn't been so keen on knowing things this wouldn't be nearly as big an issue. "I'd asked first and he said he couldn't because his girlfriend would be upset, which I had to accept." Because she didn't force her test subjects unnecessarily, least of all when she had a bunch more options to choose from.

Her eyes widened before filling with a certain hesitance and remorse. The more conclusions he drew was the worse she felt. "He didn't steal it...it was...I...there was this book and he was answering questions from it for me because I was curious and he wanted to help and then..." Her voice trailed off as the girl grew ever more conscious that his yelling just now had gotten them unwanted attention. The girl leaned forward, whispering briefly info she didn't fancy saying aloud before straightening in her seat. "And then suddenly he didn't mind that he had a girlfriend, he just asked me to kiss him." A huge leap from "I can't, Lily won't like it"
and she hadn't been sure what to make of it at first but he didn't seem all that confused in his decision at the moment which only confused HER more.

Long story short, the young girl did not thrive well in confusion. "So I thought it was fine, because he wasn't protesting anymore like he'd been earlier but then I thought about it and it isn't fine and good people don't do that."

Helping? That word earned Jessa a few more heads...but then his stomach also dropped considerably because she had ASKED him to kiss her? But then he had said no. But then he had done it anyway? This was so confusing and the second year was thiiiiiiiiiiis close to writing off human relationships of the romantic variety for the rest of his life. Creatures were easier to understand.

"Did...did you know..." he stammered, swallowing and tugging on a loose string on his jean shorts. "...did you know he had s-s-someone before you asked?" Because this was kind of super important information.

Book? Derf wasn't sure he understood how a book fit into this whole situation or why RJ holding a conversation with the book had to do with anything. But a talking book?! That was pretty neat and he was inclined to ask Jessa where she had found one of those because he wanted one too. Unless it was like...a DARK talking book like Riddle's diary. Did she know which one it was? Had it sucked out part of RJ's soul or his conscience and that was what changed his mind to decide to cheat? But then Jessa was leaning in and whispering something directly into his ear...and his eyes went all mooncalf wide AGAIN. "JESSA!" he hissed. "Y-You can't just DO s-s-stuff like that!" NEVER TICKLE A SLEEPING BASILISK!

Derf felt crestfallen and it showed on his face - but kind of because he was confused.

...had the talking book sucked BOTH of their consciences out?

So instead of responding to all THAT he did the mature thing and folded his arms across his chest while puckering his lower lip in protest of this whole thing.

It was quite possible that the wider his eyes got and the more confused he seemed to be was the worst she felt. By the time that first question came out, the girl found herself sinking lower in her seat. Her stomach had begun doing very strange and terrible flips, in much the same way Derf's was; not that she'd know.

By now her spoon had been replaced on the table, her appetite a fleeting memory in the wake of this discussion. Silently she fidgeted with her fingers resting in her lap before finally giving a small nod. If it wasn't evident before, it was all too clear now that she wasn't proud of it--a strange thing in truth; Jessa was typically very fond of her experiments and the results they yielded, even the failed ones but this...this was different and for the first time in her young life, acquiring information felt...wrong. "He'd mentioned it while we were at school...and again when I got to his house................and again when I asked." And a couple times after that too now that she thought about it, yet at the time, it didn't seem to matter.

Merlin, how terrible.

His protest at her whispered words? Yeah, she'd already gotten as much but he was right for saying it. You couldn't and SHOULDN'T mess with things like that. "I know." By now her voice was barely audible. "That's why I said what I did." The whole bad person thing. Made sense now, right? Was she losing some of those heads now? "I just wanted to know...and I wanted to know a lot more than I bothered to think about whoever it might affect. There was just this open source." Her eyes widened a little, the faintest of sparks flashing behind her eyes as she remembered just how much she HAD learned that day and how...wonderful it had felt knowing--right before everything got shot to hell. A memory that saw her eyes growing dull once more. "I wasn't thinking straight, which isn't much of an excuse."

She mustered a smile and shook her head. "That's not very nice! But at least you got ice cream out of it," she added with a chuckle. Despite her inner turmoil right now, ice cream WAS pretty great and was making her feel just a TINY bit better.

"Oh, I'm Scarlett," she added. "Are you a Hogwarts student too?" she asked. She didn't recognize him, but then again, she'd been like...dying for half of last year. She also didn't really travel outside of group of Puffer girls, aside from Ariadne and Mel of course, and she really needed to remedy that...

Jace just shrugged casually as she spoke, "Ehh, you get used to it with brothers I guess.. whenever I go out with my cousin, who is a girl, she never leaves my side.. " It's just how his family was.. besides he didn't fit in super well with his outgoing preppy brothers.. So this was better off.. "But ice cream does make everything better. " He said with a half smile over at her..

"Nice to meet you Scarlett. " Jace said with a genuine grin.. It was always nice having company, at times, and even better when the company was rather pretty.. He pushed his spoon into his ice cream and then brought it to his lips..

"Mmmhmmm, I'm a Slytherin.. I'll be a fifth year this term.. and you? "

Etta grinned at his enthusiasm, feeling glad that he was just as excited as she was. She simply stood for a moment as she debated giving him a kiss on the cheek.. but settled for a hug instead. "You smell nice." She blurted out abruptly before she could stop herself. Oops. Was that the right thing to say? Would he find it weird? Or awkward? ".... and you look very nice too." She added, unable to keep the excited grin off her face.

Ahem. Moving on.

She took the seat across the table from him, finally noticing that he'd managed to get the best table. Wow, had he been waiting for a long time? But she wasn't late, was she? "This.. table.. the location is pretty great." Etta smiled at him, her cheeks turning faintly pink as she stared at his face for a long moment. Anyway, summer. Right. Gosh, he was so distracting.

"Summer has been great.. really great and guess what? I've been made prefect for the upcoming year." She said, the happiness clearly oozing out of her voice. Etta couldn't help it, though. She felt so proud of herself. Tucking a few strands of hair behind her ears, she continued, "How has yours been?"

Color somewhat drained from the 12-year-old's face - not quite dementor level because THAT was reserved for such dire situations as monsters from alternate realities taking your best friends and wanting to eat them like a flesh eating shrub - but certainly at pogrebin capacity. "........you s-s-shouldn't have as-sked," he stated, his voice lowering and clearly judgmental in tone. "........but he s-s-shouldn't have changed his mind and kiss-ssed you. That was his choice." He paused a moment, honestly easily slipping out of his mouth and tickling his tongue. "Both of you were s-selfish and s-s-stupid."

There were now a handful of little imaginary pogrebin accumulating at his feet as Jessa continued and his foot moved to kick one of them away as he stood, resulting in his plastic ice cream spoon snapping in half because he stepped on it. "But you were thinking s-s-straight, Jessa," he retorted with a weird noise resembling a snort coming from his flared nostrils. "You were looking at it the s-same way you do potions-s experiments or experimental magic or wands-s-s. Things. You...you..." He paused here, pogrebins accumulating a bit more as several of Jessa's heads vanished. "....you can't do that with everything...and HE s-s-shouldn't have let you."

Derf still blamed RJ more than he did Jessa. Wasn't like anyone had forced him to do what he did.

She knew that. She knew that too. It was funny how the more Derf spoke was the more she was starting to feel justified in how terrible of a person she must have been. Had to say, in all her years, stupid and selfish were never things she expected to be labelled--well stupid yes, by a couple people and herself when she seemed to be missing a critical link but not selfish. Now here she was, being labelled as such by her bestfriend who was typically very honest with her. The worst of it all? He was right.

The absolute worst, however, came when he stood and shed some light on how her brain had really been picking apart the situation on that day. Circe, how many things could he be right about in one sitting??? It was almost unnatural. "Where are you going?" Was he angry enough to leave her sitting here with a full bowl of sundae she no longer had interest in? She didn't want him to go but she wouldn't hold onto him if it was what he really wanted.

"I don't know when they stopped being people." She confessed, the mere admission making her feel a little queasy in the stomach. Suddenly she was reconsidering even the reason they were here today. Derf seemed entirely put off by the whole thing and she didn't want another lecture a couple months from now regarding the same thing. "I dunno how to fix it. RJ seems keen to pretend it never happened," with the way he'd gone back to being all grins and baseline conversation, "but I can't...not feel bad about it..."

Blue eyes looked him over once. "Does that mean you're uninterested?" At this point, she wouldn't be able to fault him. "You've got a while to think about it."

Oh, should he get up? Levi realized that Etta was still standing like she was waiting for something. And it was the gentlemanly thing to do, right? So, he did.. which probably seemed a little awkward after the fact, since he didn't do it right away But a hug was nice and he was happy to give her one back before sitting back down.

He smelled nice? Levi grinned at the compliment, not thinking it was weird at all. "Thanks! It's a new cologne." Well, not exactly. He borrowed it from his dad so it was new to him, but maybe he should get some of his own then. And hopefully he put on the right amount and not too much.

And she even noticed the table. His smile turned a little more self-satisfied. "Yeah, I thought so, too. I had to grab it when it opened up... good for people watching and not in a too-crowded spot. But I did wait for you to order."

He did want to hear all about what she had been doing so far this summer, and he'd be happy to tell her about his. But he wasn't expecting this news. "Wow, what.. really?" His mouth a bit in surprise before smiling, happy for her. "That's really cool... congrats! We should celebrate." Of course, they were already getting ice cream... but surely there was something else they could do to commemorate it.

Gaston had no idea what he was doing with his life anymore. This time last year, he thought he was going to have it all... loving parents, friends who would always be there for him, a job with people he cared about and who cared about him, and the love of the most amazing woman he'd ever met. But now he wasn't so sure. The events over the past few months- the international tour announcement, the end-of-term feast, and the fight with his father - had cast doubt, and now he felt he was being forced to choose only one.

He decided maybe some ice cream would cheer him up and made a beeline for Florean Fortescue's. He had a little time for a snack before heading to the owl post office. He had a very important letter to send! After ordering some double fudge brownie ice cream in a chocolate bowl, he ventured outside. Imagine his surprise when he saw the very person his letter was intended for sitting there!

"Hello, Natalia," he greeted his former student with a slight sad smile. It felt a bit odd calling her by her first name, but he saw no reason to stand on formality now that they weren't at Hogwarts. "Would you mind if I join you?" After all, he had some big news to deliver!

Clay just kept his head down and tried not to make a fuss, usually leaving Evie and Zoey to create the drama - and Benji was even quieter. She forgot he was there half the time.

OOOOOOH there was Professor Marchand! HEART EYES.

Right, back to her conversation...it was rude to stare, even at her favorite professor!crush...

"Nice to meet you too. Slytherin, eh? I'm a Hufflepuff," she told him. "And I'm going to be a fifth year this term too! Ready for OWLs?" she asked with a small chuckle. The answer for her was NO, definitely not - but some people actually CARED about those things and were going to be a lot more paranoid about it. Hmm. She wondered if Jace would be like that.

Something about driving a point home and really showing just how upset a person was and such. Oh but hey! There was his spoon. Er...snapped in half. Fudgesticks.

Picking it up, the second year settled back down into his seat and tried to relax back into his seat. But it was HARD because no matter which way he sat it felt like he was sitting on a murtlap.

"But it did happen," he retorted. "It's-s-s s-s-stupid to pretend like it didn't. And just mean." ...."Curious." That...was certainly one way of letting her know he was angry. Granted, she could have guessed that without him standing and the gesture itself had only served to confuse her but it was a good effort anyway? In any case, now she felt she needed to watch a few scenes with this standing protest. It really was a curious way of letting someone know your foot was down.

Suffice to say, she was a little calmer once he'd retaken his seat and no longer in immediate danger of simply storming off. This was better, more predictable. Good good.

"Maybe it's the way he copes?" Jessa suggested, not entirely sure herself. "Or maybe...I mean...he didn't want me feeling bad about it. I think he was trying to cheer me up." Which admittedly hadn't worked all that well given everything that had swarmed her mind after and prevented happy thoughts but y'know. "But you're right, I think I have learned my lesson." She'd be more careful next time or rather more thoughtful toward the other party's situation.

In fact, she'd already made mental notes as well as a couple preliminary changes to the assessments themselves. Only thing now was WHY Derf went back to looking so confused. This had to be the widest range of emotions her bestfriend had gone through in such a short period of time. She would have to ask him how he felt soon. Find out the possible side effects of such change. For now..."My study, my experiment." She replied, incredulous to the fact he'd even have to ask while casually forgetting she'd never really explained. "That's why I'd like you to kiss someone you like, that way I won't have robbed you of yours and I won't feel bad and you won't regret everything and nothing will spiral terribly out of control and we won't end up wallowing in horrid feelings that eventually drive such a huge rock between us that you no longer come to tropical islands with me to kiss dolphins." Slippery slope fallacy? Sounded familiar.

Gaston almost laughed a little as Natalia greeted him. It felt odd being called professor outside of Hogwarts, but he hadn't the heart to correct her. He wasn't sure how she'd react to his presence - maybe it was uncool to be seen with a teacher outside school - but he was relieved when she invited him to sit. "Thank you, Natalia," he replied.

He pulled up the nearest chair and sat down, taking a few bites of his ice cream. Natalia's question came as a bit of a surprise and he choked slightly. He couldn't help but notice the starry look in her eyes, adn it made him laugh a little - something that was nearly impossible since that fight with his father! "It's been great so far," he said. He was still uncomfortable with being in in the spotlight and the crowds of screaming fans, but it was nice to know they liked him. If only the people at Hogwarts thought as highly of him...

"The crowds in Paris were very welcoming!" Gaston went on. Of course that was probably because they saw WerewolfSnout as their own native sons, but that was beside the point. "There were a few small mishaps. An amp blew out on opening night, and there was an incident with some fangirls..." He shuddered at the memory of all those young women pawing him! The blue-eyed Frenchman sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Anyway, I have some news for you..."

She kept eating her ice cream and didn't mind at all if he joined her. She actually adored the professors at Hogwarst and of course her favorites, including him were always welcomed around her. [b] "I haven't come across anymore of the bands stuff hidden at the music shop."[/b She laughed a bit, because that's how she had figured it all out last summer. Working for Atticus had it's advantages. She loved working there.

When he started talking about the tour she placed her spoon in her ice cream and gave him her full attention. She didn't want to miss any of it, because honestly she wasn't sure at the moment if she'd ever get her chance. She knew she'd have to tell him what all happened, but she wasn't going to right now. Story time was better and getting to hear about the bands touring was great. "Fangirls? Professor you dog." She laughed jokingly, but really he picked annoying students over screaming fans. The man had to be mad.

Leaning back in her chair she tried to think what it would be like to have that many fans and people wanting your autograph and picture. She was so ready for it all, but knew she'd not be having it for awhile. She picked her spoon back up and took another bite before looking at him. "News?" Oh it was about the opening act wasn't it, she frowned knowing she'd have to tell him.

Etta gave an internal sigh of relief when he took that compliment rather well. Who comments on the way their date smells, though? But somehow.. it attracted her more towards him. If that was even possible at all. The corners of her lips lifted up in a bright smile, momentarily pushing those thoughts away and concentrating on the boy sitting across the table from her.

Hmm. "That was very nice of you. Did you have to wait for a long time?" Etta finally asked, her smile turning into a tiny frown. "I apologise if you had to." Her gaze shifted to the window for a moment before turning to look at Levi once again. "What do you enjoy most about people-watching?"

She looked incredibly pleased at his reaction, her face still rather flushed with excitement. "Celebrate.. yeah. Definitely.." Etta paused for a few seconds as she curiously looked at him, leaning back against her seat comfortably. "What do you think we should do?" She could think of a few things, honestly. Ahem.

Nope. NOOOOOOOOOOOPE.

Nothing Jessa was saying right now was going to make him change his mind on the subject because his mind was MADE UP. Because you don't try to make someone feel better by pretending something that you chose to do never happened. That was mean and rude and dad always said that memory charms were never the answer to problems of the heart. Or something like that. He honestly hadn't really been paying attention while he and mum had been giving him the talk - which had only come about because of a misunderstanding anyway...so it was all in one ear and out the other.

But at least Jessa said she had learned something? That was really all he was taking from this because all he wanted was for his best friend to be happy and not feel bad about some bloke who clearly had a pea for a brain. He knew trolls that were more intelligent.

Okay, so not really but he was pretty sure the trolls in the tapestry at Hogwarts were!

Wait.

..........waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait.

Derf's eyes slowly widened and all the heads Jessa had grown suddenly poofed from existence - which made it easier to focus on actual Jessa and what she was saying without distraction. "You...want to...practice s-s-snogging with me?" he clarified, blinking a few times as his voice raised a few octaves higher than usual.

Jace grinned a bit, "Well you clearly have a majority then, it's just me and my brothers in my family.. My younger brother Stefan and then my older brother Xander.. " He said with a bit of a shrug.. The two of them got along pretty well where as Jace was just out here alone.. at least his cousin Lily liked him..

He blinked a bit as he noticed the girl get all googly eyed and since he was pretty sure he hadn't gotten hotter in the past thirty seconds, the grey eyed boy took a look around and saw the Charms Professor there..

Ahh well.. to each their own?

Jace casually sat there and ate his ice cream while he waited for Scarlet to come back to earth.. Ahhh.. one day he was going to affect a girl like that..

Today was not that day however.

Ahh there she was. "Hufflepuff eh? That's pretty cool and yeah, I'm a snake. " Cue charming grin.. "No, I'm not ready at all for them. " He said in reference to the OWL thing.. "I'm not looking forward to them either..seems like a pain.. " He said with a sigh.

Gaston absentmindedly swirled his spoon around in his bowl, trying not to let his thoughts wander back to his father and the fight they had. Nope, he wasn't going to think about that now! He had exciting news for Natalia, and he wasn't going to spoil the moment for her!

The mention of band merchandise caught him off guard slightly, and his expression changed. "Maybe it's just sold out?" he said. That seemed the most likely explanation. The store in France had trouble keeping their merchandise in stock, and he would be surprised if Atticus's Attic didn't carry any at all. He couldn't help but laugh along with his former student. "It's not what it probably sounds like!" he added quickly. "Most of the fans were very kind, but there were some who didn't understand the concept of boundaries." He still couldn't figure out what they saw in him. Lucien was the one with the bombastic rockstar personality; Jerome was the closest to their age; Tillie was the female role model, and Ed and Armand were the musical talent.

Gaston nodded. "Yes, news," he said. "The band and I have talked it over with our manager, and..." He tried to keep a straight face, but he was so excited for Natalia that he couldn't stop a smile from showing. "We've decided to add The Sirens to our line-up for the London shows! You'd be going on after us, as a closing act."

She supposed she did feel bad for her brothers, and her dad - but he was always so damn CHEERFUL it was hard to tell if it ever bothered him.

Probably not. All his daughters were real daddy's girls.

"Oh, a snake?! Awesome! My friend Ariadne is a snake,"
she told him proudly. Who said Puffers and Snakes couldn't get along?! "Ugh, me either. I think I'd feel better if I at least KNEW what I wanted to DO after school," she grumbled, taking another bite of her ice cream. They seriously needed career counseling at school.

She'd still ace all the OWLs of course. Because that's just how she was...

Well when he said it like that...

Jessa straightened in her seat, trying to read into her friend's expression and the way his voice had risen in pitch the way it did. The noise he'd made sounded almost...strained....and there were typically only a few reasons for that: lack of understanding or reluctance.

Given she'd just explained it to him, the excuse of ignorance didn't seem to fit. Reluctance on the other hand made all too much sense. Why should he have wanted to? There were certainly other options out there, one's that thought things through more thoroughly and didn't mess things up as often.

"That was the idea, yes." She confirmed, trying to keep her tone even. Experiments always had setbacks, it was important not to let them throw you off the trail of knowledge completely. "It'd only be with your go ahead and I'm amendable to having you find someone else so long as
I still get to collect whatever data comes from it. You've got choices in this, the third being that you could say no entirely and I'd still be your friend."
It did no one any good to be bullied into the life of a test subject afterall.

Of course it would mean finding someone ELSE at the risk of further rejection but such was the sacrifice needed she supposed.

Something was off about the professor. He she knew that look because she gave it many times. His mind wasn't fully around, but she wasn't going to ask, no, she wouldn't make it out she noticed. She didn't want to put him in an awkward position. She wasn't his student anymore,
but there was still a respect to hold for her to him. She fully admired him and thought of him as a mentor.

She couldn't help but laugh, "I was joking, I bought one the other day." There were some stuff but the closer their dates came for the concert the more it was selling she did notice. "Stop being modest Professor you probably have so many fangirls making heart eyes at you." She was laughing, but she was serious. The professor wasn't bad looking, though she never had a thing for any of her professors in that sense.

Now was time for the news and her heart sunk as he spoke about it. She should have been jumping up and down so excited, but she had news for him that wasn't going to go as well. "About that.... " How did she even explain. "The Sirens aren't going to be together anymore it seems. A few of our members have decided that their hearts weren't fully into making the band famous and went to enjoy their other passions." She had nothing against them for it either, but she was saddened by it. "Lily and I have decided to continue though. We are going to focus on trying to possibly be a duo. " Though they probably wouldn't come up with a band to play for them in time for the tour dates.

"Thank you so much for the offer though. It was incredible and I'll never forget it." How could she, she came so close to being on stage in front of so many fans. That was what hurt when she thought about it.

Jace couldn't even imagine what it would be like to have sisters. Making a brouhaha over every little thing, being all loud and noisy and in his face.. Naw he much preferred his brothers.. at least they left him alone? "Yeah see I'm not so good with the make up talk. " He said with a teasing grin at her.."Lipstick is stuff that goes.. on your eyes?" His grey eyes were twinkling slightly as he spoke..

"That's cool, I'm not sure if I've met her or not.. but I'll keep an eye out. " He said with a smile as he groaned slightly as she spoke..

"I don't know what's worse.. not knowing what you want to do.. or knowing what you would like to do.. but making it in the field is super hard, so you might as well give up and find something else to do. " He said with a bit of a sigh..

"Though what I want to do has nothing to do with magic.. so there you go. " He said with a shrug as he took another bite of his ice cream.

Natalia's laugh jerked Gaston out of his thoughts, and he managed a halfhearted chuckle. He might've guessed she was joking, but there were times when he couldn't be sure. Her comment about the fangirls turned his chuckle into full-blown laughter. "The heart eyes I can handle," he said. She was right, there had been a lot of that going on at the Paris shows. He thought it was sort of cute actually. "It's having my personal space and privacy invaded that I don't like." His eyes darted apprehensively, half-expecting a mob of fans or paparazzi to ambush him.

He was surprised by Natalia's reaction to the news he had for her. He'd expected jumping around and squealing, more along the lines of her reaction at the end-of-term feast, but instead she seemed sad. He soon found out why, and his bright blue eyes widened in shock as she explained what had happened. He was sorry to learn that The Sirens were breaking up, but he could understand them wanting to pursue another dream. He'd had to make that same choice not long ago. But there was still the matter of the London shows. The tour manager and the rest of the band were expecting four girls to perform, not two! A terrible thought suddenly occurred to him. Had he done that? He couldn't help but feel a little guilty; he meant to help, not break up The Sirens!

Natalia's words of thanks were completely unexpected but touched his heart nonetheless, just as kind words always did. For a moment, he was at a loss for words; all he could do was look back at her, smiling sweetly. Merlin's beard! She was going to make him cry if she kept saying sweet things like that! "It was no trouble at all," he said once he'd found his voice. "I'm just sorry things didn't work -" He stopped himself midsentence as an idea came to him. "I just thought of something... if you can't perform as The Sirens, maybe you and Lily could perform as part of WerewolfSnout... at least for the London shows." The band probably wouldn't go for that, but he'd deal with them later.

Gaston's brain was suddenly buzzing with ideas, and for the first time in weeks, he forgot all about the awful things his father said to him. He was determined to find a way to make Natalia's dream happen! "You'll perform the last song of the show with us," he thought out loud. "I'll write something new just for the occasion." He already had an idea what that song would be. He looked at her, unable to hide the excitement in his eyes as he tried to gauge her reaction. Would she like the idea?
