First there was this parcel that came bright and early while he was still asleep. Next was his dad interrupting said sleep by having him open the parcel in question because 'Is that what I think it is' was more urgent than letting his son have a good night's rest apparently And that is how the Gryffindor Ace, bereft of his luscious leonine locks, extra gangly from continuous growth, head spinning and stomach grumbling shuffled onto the courtyard looking for his girlfriend, squinting behind his shades wondering if the sun swallowed Mercury and is now closer to Earth because why is everything was so dang bright?? But there she was, the vision of her like an oasis to a parched man. He plopped himself on the seat in front of her -- completely forgetting his new |

HOLY BATMAN, TENACIUS ASTOR SALANDER!!! Had he just snuck up in front of her? She supposed he had. Well now he was here. Sitting in front of her with the same lovely smile that always made her heart flutter. He looked good...... really good. Like better than he had the last time she had seen him. And then she noticed it. She had to refrain from saying it almost immediately. The hair. Ace’s beloved long locks had been chopped off and now he sported a much shorter look. It suited him very well— almost too well. *SWOON* And for the briefest of moments, she was distracted by the new aesthetic so much so that she forgot that her heart was pounding. Tenacius unfairly had that affect on her. “Your hair....” she had tried to stop herself but it was such a dramatic aesthetic change that she couldn’t help avoid not saying anything. She wondered if his parents had finally gotten to him. “It looks really sharp. I did a double take when I saw you. What’s the haircut for?” But more importantly, she ought to get to the point of why she had rung him and asked to meet up ASAP. “I did ring. I have some news!” she began and felt her heart begin to race again. Ah yes. The adrenaline was kicking in again. Perfect. She couldn’t keep the secret to herself and opened her purse, revealing a letter inside. Placing the Hogwarts on the table, she slid it over to him without a word. Vi tried her hardest to keep a straight face throughout the whole ordeal but that was proving to be difficult. “I’m going to be your partner in crime.... WELL I AM already your partner in crime and all that but..... I’m going to be..... well more in a professional sense. I can join you on patrols for real this time... ” Words we’re mixing together as her stomach did somersaults. She jumped straight to the point. It was better being direct with her Ace. “I’m a Prefect!” |

Zarina shrugged too and gave a small smile when she thought her name was cool. I mean it was a unique name and not many people had it. Her mom did a good job."Yeah I think my mother tried to steer clear of the original and boring names. Well I mean your name is unique too. Our moms did their job right." Well maybe one aspect of their job right. Zarina snorted at her comment of the death and impending doom. "Well ya know I live for a little adventure and daring." Noww she was sounding more like a gryffindor and not a slytherin but hey what could she do? "Nah I think we will be fine besides we got our wands to protect us.." She felt in her bag for her wand to be there just incase. "Do you know any spells?" Rae laughed at her house comparison. "Well I am a slytherin and live in the dungeons. I mean it is pretty rad being underneath the castle. The common room you can see the lake and see the giant squid near the window. I like the cooler atmosphere down there. Plus if I was near the kitchens I would be so fat. I wouldn't be able to control my cravings.." Especially those mini pies. Those mini apple pies were the death of her. |

“I can play the guitar pretty well now.” Though of course piano was her first love, and Chris had helped her learn the guitar, seeing as he was amazing at it. Part of her was still sad to see her husband give up on his music, but if he wanted to work in the Ministry, she would support him. After all, he was doing it to protect her.. One day, they would catch her kidnappers and she would be safe, she hoped that day was soon. “You do? That’s super cool. Do you have many people you teach? ” She asked curiously, but her attention was soon taken by Felicity and Jasper’s attempt to explain his drawing of her. “Ahhh, well.. uhh.. ” She was trying not to blush, but it wasn’t working and she could feel heat creeping up her face.. “Yeah.. ice cream.. thanks. ” She said as she tucked her hair behind her ear.. |

"I hope I'm good, otherwise I feel sorry for the kids I teach and the parents that pay me," he joked lightly, before following the conversation back to how many kids he currently had. "I have about twenty private lessons a week now, so it's going well enough that I can support myself. I might have some issues when the holiday break is over..." when they were back at school, and he also had to slot them in-between his own classes. "It's nice that you've also learned how to play the guitar," Jasper smiled, remembering how she'd admired his playing when they were younger. Similarly to how he had admired hers. And he had been unsuccessful, he managed to throw a glare at Felicity's retreating figure as he worked on how he could salvage it. "It was always meant to be a gift for you, next time we meet up I'll bring it to you. Consider it a belated housewarming gift." And please don't run away? It wasn't his fault his sister was interfering... |
SPOILER!!: Prefect Vi! His hair. A groan escaped from his lips as he ruffled his now shorter locks, some sticking out haphazardly around his head "Conspiracy of the highest order and ambushed by the tonsorial assassin." he chuckled pensively "Folks be waiting for the right moment to spring our family barber on me, and today was the day because of this--" He took out the parcel from his pocket and lay it on the table between them, ready for her to take it and see what it contains "--Got this early this morning courtesy of an overexcited Dad. Apparently he recognized the parcel, the letter-- the whole thing." he grinned. Ace leaned forward as Vi slid the letter towards him, slipping his shades off to have a read. He hasnt even reached the end of the first sentence before he knew what it was about-- he received this same letter three years ago. But he read through it anyway as his girlfriend continued to speak, her excitement building up with each breath. He declared "--Prefect!" at the same time she did. He laughed, beaming so proudly "Congratulations Prefect Holden!" Shifting in his seat he hugged her tightly and kissed her cheek "So proud of you Vi! Absolutely, totally deserve this badge. And I'm so relieved that you can finally help me with all this." She knew his work load, so she should have a fairly good idea of what that short, simple sentence actually entails. |

None of her best friends who were boys ever seemed to hang out together, besides Jace and Jasper for a bit. Really it would have been so helpful, but alas.. She grinned at him as he spoke and laughed softly, “I can’t believe you give lessons, that is so cool. ” She said shaking her head, she could remember when she had started teaching him how to play the piano and now here he was teaching other people.. Ahh how time flew. Her eyebrows raised again as he spoke about how many lessons he was teaching, “Fwoopers! That’s so many, when do you sleep? ” She joked with him, especially if he was taking his own classes. He was probably pretty busy, “Mmm, Chris taught me the rest of what I needed to know. He plays as well. ” She said as she fiddled with her ring a bit, twirling the rose shaped band with the diamond in the middle around as she thought a bit. “I’m not good enough to give lessons of course, but I can play pretty well.” She explained as Fliss left and Jasper tried to explain about the painting.. “it’s okay really, I’m just surprised that you painted me, that’s all.” She said with a soft smile.. |

But before she could confirm her suspicions with him, he was looking at her and smiling with that melt-worthy smile that made her knees weak. The one that filled her with immense joy--- so much joy that, sometimes, she felt as if she was going to burst. Vi beamed even more when she felt his arms wrap around her in a special Ace hug accompanied with a kiss on her cheek. “Thanks. I couldn’t wait to tell you. When I first called you, I thought I had woken you up.” She beamed. “I’m so excited to start working with you.” Wearing the badge was going to be weird though… When she had glanced at it this morning, she was reminded of Noelle which caused her to frown. Vi missed her greatly. But she was sure that she would see her soon. In the meantime… “Speaking of working together…” Vi tapped the parcel that Ace had placed on the table. Heh. Bringing it back to him now. He also had some great news. “If my deductions are correct, then congratulations are in order, Mr. Chief Parole Officer,” she poked her tongue out at him briefly before beaming widely. “I’m so proud of you. Congrats!!!” This was amazing. She was so thrilled for him. So much so that she leaned over and gently bestowed a peck on his lips. “I knew you were going to be Head Boy. I just had a feeling… y’know?” ... “We should celebrate!!” |

Jasper shrugged, smiling softly at Azura. "It made sense for me to do that," it was after all probably the only thing he was actually good at. He couldn't help but chuckle at her comment about how many students he had. "It's not that much, especially because it's the holidays. It's usually about 30 to 40 hours a week?" That really depended on how many hours his students wanted, and a lot of them had requested it go down to an hour during school term so that would cut it to around 20... "You're probably good enough to teach," Azura had been modest about her piano abilities when they were younger so he also assumed she was being modest about the guitar playing. "Well, I did promise you a drawing" back in third year. But it still counted. |
Quote:
She nodded as he spoke, it was amazing that the boy she had taught to play, was now teaching others.. a thought that made her smile. Perhaps she wasn’t.. as useless as she thought she was. She pushed the ever present spiral always threatening to take her down to the back of her mind and focused on her friend again. “That’s pretty much a full time job.” She pointed out before shrugging a bit as he spoke. “Yeah, that’s actually in the plan for down the line, after of course I become a world famous pianist and complete my world tour.” She said with a soft laugh as she looked over at him. She was just happy she got a solo in an upcoming performance! “Well Yeah, But wasn’t that first year? ” She said with a soft smile, “I believe I promised you I’d write you a song? ” |
Quote:
Jasper couldn't help but shrugging lightly at Azura's comment that he was basically working a full time job. It didn't feel like it most of the time. Especially because of how much free time he generally had. "I suppose so…" He'd laughed along with her at her plan, although it did seem like a good one. "Are you looking at just touring with the piano, or are you looking at becoming a singer as well?" Because that was an important question, and from memory she had a lovely voice. Jasper kind of hoped that she would make it to a point where she could have multiple tours and was known world wide. And, naturally, he had similar aspirations for himself. Either with film or music. "Huh… I think you're right…" had it already been in first year that he promised her that drawing? Well it was about time he gave it to her. The performance seemed the perfect time to present the painting to the couple. He couldn't help but smile at her at the mention of the song she had promised him. With a soft smile, Jasper lightly joked, "Well I look forward to hearing the song you write from me when I get a ticket to your first world tour." |
for Kerri and Dani <3 With the baby in tow and an ice cream in hand, Coral made her way out to the courtyard taking a seat in one of the yellow chairs and pulling the stroller up close, so she could peer into it as she waited for Gabriel to meet her. The sweet sugar rush was something she needed after barely any sleep last night and such an early start this morning. But... it felt good. And it tasted good. So who was she to complain? The cool fall air had her bundled up nicely, a long brown coat paired with a red knit hat and an eggshell white sweater underneath, jeans and some dark boots. Aurelia was matching, the only real difference being the color of her hat, which was blue instead of red. Licking her cone, her eyes wandered back over to the entrance of the courtyard, waiting for one Gabriel Banner to appear. |
She wasn't READY!!!! Of course she'd said that before, two summers ago, when she was preparing for her OWL Year and ended up scoring twelve of them. But this time Skylar REALLY wasn't ready because September meant her last year at Hogwarts. Her last year of everything she knew and everyone she knew. Next summer, everything would be different. She wouldn't be sitting here trying to sort through the millions of brochures and ranking career possibilities with pros and cons for each one. Pulling her legs up to sit cross-legged in one of the outside chairs, she took a spoonful of ice cream (half Tomato Soup and half Jalapeno & Nacho Cheese), which was half melted. Only... of course though, some of it dripped onto her Edinburgh application that she was so carefully filling out. Oops! Napkin, napkin! Dabbing it at, she frowned at the orange-y stain on her first wizarding university application. Well, there goes her future. |
Quote:
“Fancy meeting you here.” He said with a smile as he settled across from her and looked down at what she was scrubbing at.. He took his wand out and vanished the stain on the application and then used it again to make them impervious to stains and the like.. “This using magic out side of school thing is so fun” He said with a soft chuckle as he leaned back in his seat and looked around. |
Quote:
That was when her nose started to itch and .... ACHOOOO!!!! Without warning, sneezing all over the flower bouquet. Huh, flowers? Where did those come from? Glancing up from her stain ... she smiled at the sound of a familiar voice. "Fancy you bringing me flowers." "Want some ice cream soup?" She grinned at, pulling the spoon up and showing how liquid-y her former bowl of ice cream had become. Oh, stain disappeared. "Show off. I still have another month with the trace." So unfair, really, this late birthday thing. "Did you bring your applications or I suppose you used magic to finish them already?" |
Hey Ju! (Anyone else can jump in too!) There was only so much shopping a girl could do before a break was necessary. Rylee wasn't here for anything she needed today, no she had already done all her school shopping with Reese. Not that she really needed much this year besides the required textbooks. She hadn't even grown enough to need new uniforms or anything. Today she was here with her big sister so they could get things for Saros.. her nephew was growing so fast! When they neared the ice cream shop though, Rylee had asked if she could go have a treat while Rian continued on to the next shop. After waiting in line to get what she wanted, chocolate frog ice cream in a cup with several toppings, the still small ginger child made her way outside. Finding a table off to the side that was empty she sat down to enjoy her cold tasty treat. |
Immy/Jesse This was a first! Laurel was in Diagon Alley to have girl day out amongst the shops and restaurants but it wasn't with Kay but with Imogen. Imogen and her were close but this day in DA was her and Kay's thing, had been for several years now. Focus on the positive Laurel reminded herself, it was going to be fun to see Imogen again and catch up over ice cream. To just exchange owl's wasn't the same as talking face to face. Hopefully Immy could provide her with some sage Kay advice. After buying a chocolate bowl of ice cream full of three scoops of ice cream of the muggle kind the blond woman made her way out into the sunshine to find an empty table. Choosing a table, Laurel sat down in one of the chairs before she started to dig into the ice cream. Hopefully Immy wouldn't get too upset if she was half done when she got there? |
Quote:
Imogen had managed the impossible, she had a free afternoon without the girls. It was nice, having the time to herself for a change – really, it was nice having time to spend with her family. Thankfully Alex hadn’t been too much of a bother with the whole idea of being the uncle in charge…he also hadn’t pestered her about seeing how Laurel – it was exactly a secret that something had gone down in Dufftown. It helped, of course, that the daily prophet was normally up on their game – but also…having family members working in the ministry was the biggest help. |

It was such a lovely day and Cassie loved being out in the summer. The summer had every thing wonderful about it. Kids home and enjoying their break, flowers blooming, birds chirping, and just happy smiling faces. Sitting with her little family she relaxed in her chair and just people watched. Her babies weren't babies anymore and she liked that she could just enjoy the day without feeding or wiping anyone, but she missed the little things with babies. Cassie knew she had asked Leo once about more children, but he wasn't sure and she had decided after a tea reading that it just wasn't something to bring back up. "Is everyone enjoying their ice cream?" Licking her cone, Gemma watched all the kids around. "Daddy, do I get to be like these kids?" The five year old looked up at him and smiled, a little chocolate frog on her nose. She knew she had some time before she went and Jackson would go before her, but Gemma was still interested in what they were all doing. Giving her mother a huge smile she snapped her fingers excitedly, but in doing so she lost her cone and it fell to the ground. Her little lip puckered and wibbled before she started crying loudly. |
Quote:
A smile tugged at her lips the moment the other girl joined her at her table and widen even more upon noticing she was a ginger like herself. "Hello!" she chirped warmly nodding her head at the other chair. "Sure! I'm Rylee." She never passed up a chance to make a new friend. |
Quote:
"This is nice!" The little girl said, referring to both the ice cream and the day in general. "Summer is my second favourite time of the year." Nerissa told Rylee while nodding her head. "Do you like Diagon Alley?" |
Quote:
She smiled nodding in agreement, feet swinging back and forth as she couldn't entirely reach the ground on these seats. "I like all the seasons. Each one is different but always has something fun to look forward to." Rylee didn't care what the weather was if she wasn't horribly ill or the weather outside wasn't extremely dangerous it was a safe bet to make that she was somewhere outdoors doing something to burn off a bit of her energy. "Mhmm. I come here whenever I get the chance to. I like looking in the shops but mostly I enjoy coming to get ice cream and seeing my friends." Or making new friends! There was always people in Diagon Alley. |
Open Post There was nothing today could not beat. The the warm weather had a cool breeze that would top any Air Conditioner by a long shot. The Sun was bright and shinning as well with not a cloud in sight. Having had today to go around Diagon Alley to purchase the needed Hogwarts materials, and robes The Seventeen year old, Minnie King moved along the cobbled streets until she stopped and looked at the umbrella clad seating outside the Ice Cream Shop. Her sudden stoppage of course followed by a light bump on her lower back from all the bags she had floating behind her and and flopped to her knee. Rubbing her back from the slight bit of owie it put on her. She stood up. dusted her knees off, checked her knees too for any scraps, which there were none and adjusted her sunglasses on her face as she moved to one of the shaded seats outside Florean Fortescue's. Her countless bags floated down to her side after she took her Mahogany Wand and with a small flick they settled beside her. Take for a quick shopping break, and maybe have some delicious sherbet ice cream too. YUM! |
SPOILER!!: Imogen Laurel was at her best munching on her trio of strawberry, vanilla and rocky road scoops of ice cream when Imogen ducked under the umbrella that she was sitting at. Looking up a warm beam spreading her features at the sight of her very close friend Laurel said. "Yes, dreamy good Immy. Floreans icecream is always so yummy. What flavours did you get?" Standing up to embrace Imogen in a hug, she waited to answer until she had pulled back. "I've missed you too Immy! I'm good and Oliver and Nicholas are both well. They are actually both engaged to be married and expecting children soon. So how are you and the girls?" She knew that Immy soon enough would be bringing up Kay. Taking a seat in the table chair again she took another icecream scoop before everything melted. SPOILER!!: Cassie & Gemma Cassies idea to take a day off and enjoy the summer in Diagon Alley on an outing to Floreans with the children was a stroke of pure genius Leo felt. He felt relaxed and happy and full energy now that the kids were home too. Reaching over to give Cassie's a kiss on the cheek he murmured. "This was a great idea." Turning her eyes to the their not so little children and smiling lovingly over at his daughter with her chocolate frog nose, Leo responded "Yes Gemma, in about 6 years you'll be exactly like all those kids that you see walking around here with their mummy's and daddy's to buy school supplies for Hogwarts. Wouldn't it be fun to--------." Leo didn't get further than that before Gemma dropped her cone to the ground and started to cry loudly. Standing up he lifted his daughter up into his arms, before sitting down with her in his lap to hug her and stroke her hair. "It will be all right Gem, I can buy you a new cone." Licking on his cone just like his sister Jackson, stopped mid lick to look amazed at a passing boy with a big snake in a cage. "Mummy, do they allow kids to have just about any pet they want at Hogwarts? I want something cool." What cool was the 7 year old didn't really know, but he had heard the word on the TV and he was fond of using it. Smiling hugely up at his mom Jackson was about to ask about snakes when Gemma started to cry loudly and wibble which made daddy pick her up, in his lap to soothe her. Not wanting mummy to focus on his sister too Jackson got up out of his seat and walked across to his mother and asked hopefully with puppy eyes. "Mummy, can we go now and look at the snaksies?" |

Nerissa listened to the older girl as she spoke about all seasons having something fun they could look forward to. "That's true." She nodded again, as she thought about the fun things she could do in each different season. Play in the snow when it snowed in the winter... eat some tasty fruits and walk on crunchy orange leaves in the autumn, eat ice cream and play outside in the summer and smell all of the flowers in the spring. "You're right!" So Rylee also liked Diagon Alley. "You always come here when you come to Diagon Alley then?" As in Florean Fortescue's. She said she enjoyed getting ice cream and seeing friends? "I like it too, but I'm usually at Flourish and Blotts." The redhead added with a nod. |
for Lisa It wasn't often, in the past, that Kaiser had really had enough money to spare for something so simple yet so frivolous as ice cream. With the change in his circumstances, however, things were different, and the money he, uh... liberated or properly legitimately earned was free to be spent on whatever he wanted. Now that Kaiser didn't have to worry so much about where his next meal was coming from, he found himself spending that hard-earned cash almost the second he got hold of it. He did try to save up the money he collected, so that one day he might be able to spend it on bigger and better things, but that simply wasn't the case. It just ended up being spent on the strange little trinkets he saw in shop windows (the cheaper ones, of course) and sweets and, on this particularly warm day, ice creams with magical flavours. Not one to really be cooped up inside, Kaiser had taken his Butterbeer flavoured ice cream out to the courtyard once he had handed over the last of his coins at the counter. The day was pleasant, busy, and the crowds of people had put him in a good mood - it sort of reminded him of the crowded streets he was much more used to, and gave him the opportunity to acquire the money so that he could afford the ice cream he now held. Weaving through the already situated people, Kaiser headed directly for one of the few tables that wasn't occupied, already attacking his ice cream as he went. |
Quote:
Imogen grinned when Laurel commented about the icecream always being yummy. It was the truth, no one could really top the Floreans brand of icecream…especially however they made it melt-free. That was a brilliant trick even if melting icecream was honestly a treat in and of itself. |
Quote:
Rylee giggled between spoonfuls of ice cream. "Every season had it's own special qualities." Truthfully she did prefer the warmer calmer weather where she could be outside dancing, swimming, flying or exploring but the rain and snow had it's perks too. "Well not always but I try to when I can." Rylee nodded. "During the summer lots of students from Hogwarts are here... it's one of the easiest places to make friends." At least in her opinion anyhow. Nerissa's reply got her attention and made her smile even more. "Oh! You like to read too?!" |
Quote:
Holding her cone of pumpkin pasty flavored ice cream, she too appeared to have spotted the same vacant table and made her way over to it swiftly, unaware at first that she had competition. Almost there, she did, however, notice that someone else appeared to be headed for that exact same empty table which only made her walk faster. This was her table. Probably milliseconds before the boy reached the table, Anahera slid into one of the chairs and...grinned up at him. Winning. |

She watched as Gemma started to cry and Leo picked her up. She did enjoy the sweet moments. "Here sweetie just take the rest of mine." She really didn't mind and if it kept her from making a huge scene then it was well worth it. She smiled at Jackson as he watched people and commented. Her children were growing way too fast and she wouldn't be ready to send them off. So many Professors were gone since their time working there and still things going on there that did make her nervous about her children being there without one of them. "No they don't, those children might just be getting it for home. You are only allowed to have an Owl, Cat, or Rat. Though Pygmy Puffs are allowed as well." She wondered if maybe they had updated the list by now, but it wasn't that big of a deal, her own children wouldn't be getting anything crazy. Looking over to Jackson as he wanted to leave already she just smiled at him, "Not right now honey, let's just enjoy our ice cream for now and we will go see the animals in a little bit." Now on daddy's lap Gemma put her face into his chest to whimper. She wanted her ice cream, but she did enjoy daddy's attention as well. So she kept the tears even though she heard her mom's voice asking about her own ice cream. "No, I want my own. I don't like your kind. Daddy pwease get me a new one." She didn't talk baby talk unless she was trying to get something and right now she wanted more ice cream. Hearing Jackson talk about snakes she peared out of her hiding spot on her dad's lap to look at him through her tears. "No snakes they are scary." Her lip wibbled a bit more not wainting to see those things, they have her the creeps. |
SPOILER!!: Imogen "Are you not in the mood to try some magical flavours?" Laurel asked as she scooped up another spoonful of ice-cream into her mouth. Granted she hadn't either but it was because her thoughts had gone to Kay so it had become muggle all the way. Beaming she said "Thank you so much Immy! I'll tell my brothers. It will be weird to attend their weddings I always thought I'd get married first." Reaching a hand out to squeeze one of Immy's she said affectionately. "Thank you, I'll remember that. Circe knows that the last part of the school term wasn't easy. But your girl's wow they're old enough to start Hogwarts already?" Laurel had never been good at remembering ages of either relatives or friends children. The story of Beth's encounter with a boy that accused her of littering and her solution made her laugh out loud. "Good on Beth. She'll manage fine at Hogwarts I predict. But Cordelia going to Beauxbatons, does she know any French?" It was kind of needed wasn't it if you went to a french school? Then of course Immy had to bring up the subject that Laurel least of all wanted to talk about; Kay. She took a breath and ate another spoon of icecream before she answered "Kay is getting better. She is getting treatment at St Mungos. I go visit her every other day." She had read the prophet article too but it hadn't said everything and she didn't know who was listening so she just left at it that. Raising her brow's next Laurel asked "What everything? I'm still dating Aaron as you know. Have you found someone to date lately Immy?" SPOILER!!: Cassie & Gemma Leo held Gemma close to his chest as she whimpered. Cassie offered her the rest of her ice cream but their little princess wanted a new one. A half eaten one wouldn't do. Looking down into his daughter's eyes he smiled warmly. "Of course I'll buy you a new one sweetie. What flavours do you want on your cone?" Anything to avoid causing a scene, more tears and wailing. Gemma's voice could chatter glass when she was very upset. Leo's attention momentarily went over to his son as he asked Cassie about going to look at cool creatures and most of all to look at snakes. Smiling over at him he said "As your mummy said Jackson let's finish our ice cream's first. I don't think the creatures shop owner will be pleased if we arrive with food. It might make the creatures anxious." Looking over at his wife he asked "Do you want some coffee or anything if go get Gem a new cone of ice cream?" :::::::::::::::: "Owl, cat, rat, toad, pygmy puff." Jackson repeated after his mum had said what pet's were allowed at Hogwarts. Not understand exactly why there was a limit he asked dumbfounded "But mummy I don't get it why can't the student's bring any pet they want? Like if someone wanted to bring a pig, a goat or even a parrot?" It was confusing. Turning away from the people passing by Jackson was focusing on licking on his ice cream when Gemma of course had to say that snakes were scary which made him huff loudly. "No THey are Not! Snakes are COol!" Next minute his lip was wibbling as he turned to his father since they couldn't go yet to the animal shop. "Daddy, tell her pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee?" |
For whoever would like to meet him! Reese made his way to the seating area with his ginormous ice cream cone. It was his most favorite flavors all stacked on top of each other, Pink raspberry, Razzleberry Blue, and Choco Fantasy! ... True.. It was an odd combination, but then again.. So was he.. His copper curls were somewhat tangled from him running around without much care for how he looked. He was always on the move. So, this was a rare moment of quiet stillness. He found a table off to the side and sat with his feet dangling as he set to eating his frozen treat. He looked around and saw a lot of different faces.. None of which looked familiar.. Hmm?.. Maybe he should stick around and see if he might be able to meet some new people... |
Quote:
After picking out her favorite flavors, a scoop of tomato soup on top of a scoop of jalapeno and cheese in a cup, she ventured out to the courtyard seating area. Not surprisingly, most of the tables were full of students and their families. Her bags were being carried in one hand, getting heavier by the second, and her ice cream was held in the other. She couldn’t just stand there and eat, so she headed towards the only table in sight that still had empty seats. There was already a younger boy sitting a the table, seemingly enjoying his treat. He looked nice enough, and she was hungry, so she walked up to the empty chair next to his. “Mind if I join you?” She asked with her brightest smile. She sun was shining on her pale face, bringing out the tiniest bit of red in her dark hair. |
Quote:
The soon to be first year looked up as he heard a female voice. His face was semi- smeared with melted ice cream, but he was wearing a smile none-the-less. " Sure.. ", he answered as he gestured to the empty seat in front of her. " The name's Reese.. Reese Prichard... And you are? " he asked as he wiped his sticky hand somewhat clean and extended it out to her. He wasn't normally rude or anything, but he wasn't exactly the type to do what she just did.. He was far too shy to just go up to someone and ask if he might join them. Even if he knew a person, unless they were his older sister Rylee, he wasn't likely to approach them.. That's just the way he was. But conversely, he had no problems if someone came up to him.. He was just a little odd that way. |

After placing her shopping bags next to the table, she slid into the seat and scooped up a bit of both flavors. The creamy tomato soup mixed well with the spicy jalapeno cheese. It was like eating a grilled pepper jack cheese and tomato soup for dessert. Delicious. "I don't remember seeing you before today. Are you a new first year?" She asked, hoping he was new. She was usually good at remembering faces, but never names. It seemed like her mind didn't have the ability to remember a name before hearing it at least twenty times. "I'm a second year Hufflepuff." She quickly added before taking another bite of her treat. "Oh, and thanks for sharing the table." |

Reese smiled as she took and shook his sticky hand.. She was already okay in his book. She wasn't all stuck up and turn down his sticky paw. " The pleasure's all mine, Emmalyn. ", he replied just before trying to catch up with the melting ice cream that was dripping down the sides of his cone. He didn't think she sounded at all overly formal in her introduction. In fact he appreciated her straight shooter-ness " Mhmmm.. I'll be a first year when term starts. My sister's gonna be a second year too!.. Do ya know her?.. Rylee Prichard?!", Reese asked excitedly." No worries.. I wouldn't wanna hafta eat standin' up by myself all awkward either..", He added. |
Quote:
"Oh, yes! I do know Rylee! She's a Gryffindor." Her face lit up with excitement. "That must be neat being able to go to school with your sister." Emmalyn had always wanted siblings. A little brother was at the top of her list. "Do you think you will be a Gryffindor like she is?" Is that how it worked? She knew the Sorting Hat picked which house you were in, but she wasn't sure if it kept family members in the same house or not. "Well, if you aren't in Gryffindor with your sister, I sure do hope you get Hufflepuff. It's such a wonderful house and everyone is so nice." Scooping up another bite of her ice cream, she let the coolness melt over her tongue and then slowly travel down to her stomach. The day had gotten much warmer than she expected, and the cold ice cream was hitting the spot. |
Quote:
Finishing her own ice cream she took her attention back to her son ad tried to explain the best she could as she reached for Gemma to sit back in her own seat so Leo could go get the ice cream. "Well if we were all allowed to bring any animal we wanted there would be chaos in the dorms and the mess they would make would be more trouble then what was needed. School is for learning, not playing, and animals can be a distraction." Especially if your seer abilities were with animals. "Now no fighting, we are having a lovely day. Anymore of that and we won't be going to any stores once we are done." Which would be a shame with how nice the day has been. She moved from her daddy's lap with a smile, "I want a sherbert one. Maybe the orange sherbert, please daddy." Giving him a very big puppy-eyed look she smiled happy that she was getting another one. "They are so scary and gross. I want a puppy, puppies are cute." Kittens were too, could they get a kitten as well? She looked at her mom when she said they wouldn't go anywhere and gave her brother a mean look, it was his fault for wanting to go see snakes. "I'm sorry mommy, I won't fight anymore but I don't want to go see the snakes." She wouldn't be giving that up too easy. |
Lex walked out to the courtyard holding her ice cream cone. Nothing wrong with classic vanilla, she thought as she took a lick. Today's weather was perfect for ice cream. She saw an open seat, and sat down. Her parents were somewhere around - they'd said to wait for them here. Lex had decided to buy herself an ice cream while she waited - she was hungry, and besides... she deserved to celebrate the occasion - her very first upcoming year at Hogwarts! Lex licked happily at her ice cream, dreamily gazing around her at all of the other people who were enjoying a nice treat. She wondered how many of them were first years like herself. Hopefully she could meet some new friends before starting off her time at the castle. It would always be lovely to know some familiar faces. |
nat <3 Summer had been relatively uneventful, but Soraya had tried to make the best of it by doing little activities throughout the past few weeks. Her parents were more helicopter-y than usual, so it made things difficult for her, especially since all she wanted to do was hang out with her friends and just be free. She'd decided that a day with her bestie~ would cheer her up, and there was really nothing better than eating ice cream in the summer with your friends. After purchasing her ice cream, Soraya found a table off to the side and sat down so she could wait for Tessa. |

" Mhmm.. She sure is! ", he exclaimed as he nodded, his mess of copper curls bouncing. " Umm.. I don't know.. Maybe?.. Oh!.. My sister Rian was in Hufflepuff too! But she's graduated already though.. ", Reese added after answering her question. He took a moment to tend his fast melting cone before asking her a question. Because why not get to know her?.. She seemed plenty nice enough to him.. Mhm. " So, after having finished your first term what would you say is you favourite class and which is your least favourite?.. And why? " Lick.. Lick.. Lick.. But intently listening of course. |
Quote:
Taking another bit of her ice cream, she savored the creamy flavors before answering his question. "Well, my favorite classes are flying and herbology. Charms and transfiguration are fun too, but I'm not very good at either of them." The other classes were fine, but not nearly as exciting or fun as flying. "The worst class is potions. Professor Noble is horrible. He hates everyone and is mean." She paused, not wanting to make Professor Noble sound too bad. Especially after finding out he was a Hufflepuff. She wasn't sure what had gone wrong to make him such a grump. "I shouldn't say such negative things about him. His classes are hard, but I think he tries to make them interesting for us." That was better than saying he was just simply mean for the fun of it. "Are there any classes you are especially looking forward to? I guess it would be a bit different coming from a family that had attended Hogwarts. It's not all a big mystery to you." She wondered if he already knew some things from growing up with wizards and witches in the family. |
For Zoe XD Harriet was happy for some time with her father. She didn't see him that much, considering she was away at Hogwarts for most of the year. But she was a daddy's girl, and so wanted to spend as much time with him as she could. After she had gotten her final Hogwarts letter, with the added weight of the badge in it, she had known she wanted to have a father-daughter date. Of course she adored her mother too, but she just wanted to spend some good quality time with her father. She'd suggested Floreans, since she knew that they both adored ice cream. And what better way to celebrate the start of her seventh year, and getting prefected, than with ice cream. "Hmm.... What are you gonna have dad?" She asked, as she plonked herself onto a chair in the courtyard. She picked up the menu, and had a little look through. "Soo much choiceee" Which made it so much harder. What to pick! |

Reese listened and caught up with the never ending drip of his melting ice cream.. Merlin, it was so warm today.. Almost annoyingly so right about now.. Dang drip! Though he gave her a nod at the possible Puff in his blood.. It was true.. He very well COULD end up in the same house as his oldest sister was in while she was attending Hogwarts. " I love flying!.. Rylee played on the Gryffindor team for quidditch last term!.. ", he nodded excitedly.. Mhmmm.. This kid was a flyer, but then again... This nearly new first year was a great many things.. " My oldest sister's best friend is brilliant at charms.. She can do almost anything if she figures the wording for the incantations.. I love watchin' 'em do all sorts of stuff.. ", he said before taking a bite out of his now semi-soggy sugar cone. NOM NOM NOM AWWW! BUMMER! And he was REALLY looking forward to Potions too!" Well... I was really looking forward to potions, but ya kind of poo poo'd that idea... Maybe?... I'll still give it my best.." he said ending with a shrug." BUT I'm also a creature kid... I love all animals and creatures.. I have two foxes at home.. Pulsar and Radar... Welll, Pulsar is Rylee's and Radar is mine. " |
Quote:
"Wow, you have two foxes? That's so neat! I never had a pet. Well, I guess you could count my owl, Ruby, as a pet, but I didn't get her until last year at this time." She was the most beautiful Barn owl. Not only was she great at her job, but she was kind as well. "What pet are you going to take to Hogwarts with you? Oh, maybe you can help with the animals in the barn. Do you like all animals or just magical animals?" She was starting to feel the sugar rush through her body and her questions were speeding up in direct correlation. |
Quote:
Reese gave her a bright smile when she said he'd do great at school. It was awful nice of her to be so welcoming.. And they weren't even at the castle yet. " Thanks, Emma.. Ya don't mind if I call ya that do ya?..", he asked... OOPS! He hoped he hadn't upset his new friend already by not using her full name.. " No worries... I had planned on seein' if I like him for meself anyhow..", he smiled." And besides... He's probably a bit gruff because brewing potions is serious business.. So much can go wrong if ya let your mind wander. ".. Reese knew this all too well since he spent a fair bit of time watching his oldest sister making potions back home.. And she was always telling him how horribly wrong things could go if he was super careful.. " Mhmm..", he said as he nodded." Rylee and I have an owl too.. We share him.. We pretty much share everythin'. ", he added. The truth was he didn't at all mind sharing anything with his bestest friend in the world. Reese shrugged as he finished the last bit of his cone.. " I don't know that I want to bring a pet to school with me to be honest... I wanna to be able to focus on my studies.. Beside, Like ya said.. I'll likely spend a fair bit of me free time down at the paddocks. I'm into anythin' that breathes really.. Magical or not... They're all fascinatin'... Don't ya think? " |
Quote:
"Potions can be rather tricky and dangerous. I almost cut off my finger last year prepping a pumpkin for one of the potions." That was a bit of an exaggeration. In truth, it had only been a minor cut, but just a bit to the left, and her entire finger could have been gone. She smiled, remembering how many students had injuries after that class and even one had passed out. So much excitement that she never had in her muggle schools. She nodded as he told her about their shared owl. It did stand to reason they would share an owl. It wouldn't really be necessary to have two at the same place for one family. "I don't have any other pets at school either. I do greatly enjoying playing with the other pets, and those in the barn, but I'm afraid I would forget to feed them with all the classes and such going on. I can be a bit forgetful." She was also in complete agreement that all creatures, magical or not, were fantastic. They had even been able to work with bats last year. "There is even a cave close by that has loads of bats. We got to feed them last year." Her eyes lit up as she spoke of the day. "They like fruit, and if you hold really still, they will land on your arm and take the fruit from your hand." Then a thought came to her, "Maybe we can ask the professor if we can visit and feed the bats once we get to Hogwarts. I bet they are lonely after the entire summer without students. Would you like to do that?" She figured she better ask. Some were afraid of bats and she didn't want to pressure him into doing something that he was afraid of. |

In the end it was a close call, very close, but a loss was a loss, and he accepted it. Uh. Sort of. Though he'd lost, Kaiser simply grinned back at the girl, and placed his free hand on the back of the chair opposite her. "For second?" he asked in a mixed accent that was hard to identify in just a few words. A seat at the table, as a prize at least for second place? It probably wouldn't have taken long to wait for another table to free up, but he was here now, after all. |
Text Cut: Vi, Moving from the street Em smiled. “Yeah, that was always kind of confusing. Just wait until you run into your professors now that you've graduated, and have to figure out what to call them. But yeah, Emmaleigh, or even Em is fine. I mean, that’s what Mel and Sam call me.” Even Ace had called her that before she officially became part of the family. “And honestly, the only people who call me Mrs Salander are Sal's work... associates.” She paused momentarily when she was looking for the right word, considering they were definitely not friends. After all, Sal had said himself they mostly just wanted something from him, and now her. “Are you fine with me calling you Vi, or would you prefer something else?” That was what she had always heard her referred to as, but that didn't mean it was what she wanted her to call her. “Wonderful.” she said thinking they were getting along fine. “And that is a very good question. I was thinking of maybe checking Wiseacre's, but if you have any suggestions, I'm all ears.” There were many shops in Diagon Alley she'd never been to, and maybe Vi had been in one that looked more likely. “Yep, a hiking and camping trip that is actually long overdue, so I'm pretty excited. We're all going with my best friend.” Heading into Florean's as they chatted, she ordered herself a scoop of Earl Grey and Lavender, and a scoop of Clotted Cream. Once Vi placed her order, she paid for them both. “If we get a table outside, we might catch Ace when he heads back this way.” Leading the way to the courtyard out front, she found them a place to sit where they could see the south side of the street. |
Text Cut: emmaleigh Both Professor Marchands flickered across her mind when Emmaleigh suggested that it would be strange figuring out how to address her Professors now. "Alright, then Emmaleigh, it is," she said with a grin. She would make sure to address her as such. Meanwhile based on the suggestions... Oh yes, it would indeed be very strange. She didn't know how... Well she knew how. The whole thing would be overcoming that fear. Gaston and Roselyn. Instead of Professor Marchand and Professor Marchand. She could do that. It would take practice but she could figure it out. Laurel instead of Professor Vance? That felt all so strange. Perhaps one day it would become normal. "Sure, you can call me Vi," she grinned. It was Ace after all that gave her the nickname. She had gone by Ollie and Liv for the longest time at Beauxbatons but Ace and Mel had coined Vi and Owlie as nicknames. Vi had stuck. She liked it. As Ace had said, Vi as in Viola from A Midsummer Night's Dream. A nice play with Olivia as her given name. Wow. Emmaleigh was so kind. She liked her immensely and her mind started to think what it'd be like to know her more than just her boyfriend's mother... Mother in law popped into mind and then she slowly skedaddled away from that idea. Wiseacre's? That was a interesting. She hadn't thought of it like that. "Good idea," she nodded. She paused, listening to Emmaleigh. "Wow, camping. Do you guys go camping often?' She had been camping a few times with her grandparents when she was younger but hadn't been there in a while. She def felt that a beach camping trip was a must vacation. They continued into Florean's and continued speaking. Vi ordered a Lemondrop ice cream and Strawberry Jam. Delicious. And catching Ace on his way back? Now Vi wasn't ever going to say no to that because she ADORED him but...she hadn't said the L-word. That was scary. She nodded in agreement. "Yes, a courtyard would be perfect," she said as she took her small bowl out to the courtyard. "Thanks for the ice cream." |
Text Cut: Vi Em found herself nodding, glad she could call the young woman Vi. It made the redhead happy that Vi felt comfortable enough with her to let her use her nickname. It seemed like they were going to get along just fine. “Yeah? I couldn't really think of anywhere else, though I guess there might be a recreational shop around here.” And if not, she was sure between Finchley, Sal, and the elves, someone would know where to get one, but that meant having someone else do something for her. That was a whole other issue there. She hated not being able to do things herself. It was pretty embarrassing really. “No, actually, its been forever, or at least real camping. I mean, magical tents don't really count as real camping, but I'll take what I can get.” she laughed. “But my best friend and I promised that we'd go camping a few years ago, and we are finally going with the whole family.” It really had been a long time in the coming. “What about you, do you ever go camping?” Sitting in the shade of the umbrella, she ate a spoonful of the yummy ice cream. “It's my pleasure.” She looked out at the street that was fairly quiet do to all the school kids heading back to Hogwarts. It amused her, thinking of the look Ace would have on his face if he saw the two of them there chatting. He'd be so surprised, and probably be nervous, just like his dad. “So what brings you Diagon Alley today anyways?” |
Text Cut: Em Wait. So Mrs. Salander --- err Emmaleigh -- went real camping as in Muggle style camping? Colour the girl very impressed. "Real camping? That should be fun," she nodded with a grin. Though some of her friends weren't really into camping as they preferred to stay at a fancy hotel with hair dryers and whatnot present. Vi didn't mind either. She liked camping trips as long as there was a lake or river nearby to go swimming in. "I do enjoy camping... I haven't been in ages." Wow. It really had been ages. Her father would take her and her brothers camping when her mother was ill. "I haven't been camping since I was eleven or twelve. I enjoyed it back then though it was never a big family event. It was something our Dad took us to do," she said, not really going into the details of her childhood. It had been painful for her but not as painful for her brothers. Simon and Marc had struggled more throughout their mum's illness because they had known her before. Vi felt... neutral towards her mother. Well she did in the end. It was a strange sensation indeed. But now was not the time to dwell in the past.... She took a spoonful of ice cream, quietening her fears, and took a moment to bring herself back. Diagon Alley? Hmm... "I was here doing a little shopping for my courses this upcoming semester. I needed to grab some books," she said as she touched her bag that rested on her chair. "I'm also going to the London Wizarding University with Ace. We're different majors. I'm hoping to become a wandmaker so I'm studying Charms, Divination, and Wandlore at school and then have an apprenticeship for the upcoming summer." "What do you do for a living? If you don't mind me asking?" she asked as she spooned another delicious piece of ice cream into her mouth. Mmm.. |
Text Cut: VI The redhead couldn't help but laugh at the younger woman's words. “It would be so much fun. Unfortunately, I've been unable to convince my husband to really go out roughing it with me.” Seriously, Sal could be ridiculous sometimes. Like the fact that she was going to have to cast a ton of anti critter charms around their camping location. “But, with a wizarding tent, he's game, so its okay.” and with the tension between the two guys, she wasn't going to push her luck. “Oh, well you should come with us sometime then.” With special stipulations, because Mama will be mama after all. “I'm sure trips like that with your dad were always special.” She didn't know all of the other woman's history, but she could read people. Sensing the slight shift in Vi, Em reached out and gave her arm a pat to try to comfort her. Eating her ice cream, she listened as Vi told her about the reason for her trip today, and about her plans for the future. “Wow, you seem to have things quite planned out.” she said, thinking about the plans she had had at the girl's age, and how drastically they had changed. It had been devastating at the time, but life had turned out to be amazing. She hoped it would be just as amazing for the kids, wherever life ended up taking them. “And wandmaking? That’s really impressive. What made you want to go into that? And you've already got an apprenticeship lined up? Will it be a local place or will you have to travel?” “Oh, I don't mind at all.” Emmaleigh said beaming brightly at the question, before diving into talking about her work. “These days, besides spending a lot of my time running around after my girls, I mange all of our creature endeavors for our hotels.” And now she was sounding like she was talking to one of Sal's business associates. “Which covers a lot of different areas, but I don't want to bore you if you aren't that interested.” She found all the things she did fascinating, but she knew most people didn't so it was okay. “And I'm also working on writing a new books on magical creatures.” |
Walsh girls :) (I'm always open to those who wish to join) After finishing up her ice cream and chatting with her friends, she still had some time to kill before heading back home. It was far too nice of a day to stay inside, so she made her way out to the courtyard. The late afternoon breeze was warm and carried the smells of summer with it. She spotted an empty table towards the side of the seating area, and lugged her overflowing packages over to take a seat. Emmalyn was always amazed by how many unnecessary purchases she made while back to Hogwarts shopping. No, she really didn't need four new quills or the three extra Hufflepuff scarfs and hats. But, there was always the chance that one of her friends would be without and she loved to help. |
gonna assume they already at least know of each other? <3 Quote:
With her small, one-scoop of ice cream, the blond made her way over towards a seating area in search of someone familiar. Perhaps one of the Emma D's or Anahera or Chase or Anna ... and yet not one of her Gryffindors was around? But oh, she recognized the girl sitting over there. Money, she could assume the girl had from looking at the bags on display with her. Perhaps she could ask the girl for an extra sickle so she could get a topping on her sundae.... Or at least just some company since she recognized the girl as the one who had her last name? And yet, as far as she knew, Millicent Walsh had no cousins and she was the only child? "May I join you? Emmalyn, right?" Maeve asked, but not really asking cause she was probably going to sit anyway. |
Quote:
Feeling a bit odd since she wasn't eating any ice cream, she fiddled with the bracelet on her left wrist. "So, are you having a nice summer? I can't believe school will be starting soon." The summer was flying by and she was determined to have a better third year than her second year. Although, any year without being attacked by Inferi would be an improvement. Her mind finally caught up with the situation and she realized that this was the other Walsh girl. She smiled and briefly wondered if they were maybe related in some way. Emmalyn was always trying to figure out how she came to be magical when she was born to two of the most obvious muggles on the planet. |
Sarah // Harper Valencia was waiting in line with her Dad. It was time to meet up with her friend Harper from primary school and she was so excited! They'd become easy and fast friends thanks to their same last name. "You don't have to sit with me." she told her dad. She was, afterall, ten years old. Ten year olds were old enough to sit with their friends at a different table while eating ice cream. Plus the two girls had a lot of things to discuss before Valencia's trip to Belize. |
Lissy/Nettie <3 and whoever else wants to crash Drew had taken the longest time at the side of the counter to decide what flavour he wanted. He was caught between trying out the treacle tart flavour, because for a moment the dessert sounded really appealing, or going for his usual chocolate chip cookie dough. It was an intense mental debate with himself. Until he ultimately decided to stay with the safe flavour and go for his usual. Chocolate chip cookie dough, it was. What if the treacle tart-flavoured ice cream didn't taste as good as the real dessert itself? It would just disappointment, as it was most of the time. Corned beef sandwich-flavoured ice cream? Those kinds of insane flavours made him highly doubtful. Besides, Drew wanted to make sure that his sickles worth of scoops were worth eating. Nothing could go wrong with his all-time favourite. After a not-so quick stop at the toppings bar, Drew found himself a place in his own solitude outside the shop. His bowl of ice cream was rather overflowing with sprinkles--clumsy him had poured too much--that the real ice cream was buried inside it. |

Feeling very adult like or not so much like a baby anymore she headed up to the line and ordered on her on. Now she had to go looking for Valencia. She wondered around for a bit eating her ice cream until she spotted her friend. ”Cia!” There she was. Plopping down across from the other girl. She waved to Mr. Phillips, you know since he was being the cool dad and not all up in their business. |
Quote:
"Harpie!" she greeted before taking a seat next to her friend. "How are you? How has your summer been? Did I tell you what I was doing this summer?" |
Quote:
Ohhh So many questions. She would just wait until later to bring up the topic of a possible sleepover. Right now Cia had so many questions. She gave her friend a grin. ”I’m greatt! Summer is fun.” Did she know? But she missed getting to see her friends at school over the holidays. But summer meant she got to do more things with her family which she liked okay. ”Nooo… What are you doing?” She needed to know now. She couldn’t wait to hear what it was. |
Quote:
The blond shrugged at that question and comment. "I guess. It's honestly not too eventful. Just avoiding getting sunburned, or tan, for that matter. Avoiding reading as best as possible. Except for ... the letter I received last week." She glanced down at her scoop of ice cream, stirring it absently. Honestly, she had no idea what she wanted to do because she pretty much had grown used to living at the Stemp House. Even if she subconsciously knew this day would come, she wished it had come like four years ago. It might have been nice shopping for Hogwarts with a family member. She bit her lower lip. "My aunt apparently decided to resurface and wants to meet me." Why was she telling her this, who knew? Perhaps there was something trusting in Emmalyn's face. |
Quote:
She grinned and nodded, glad that her friend was having fun. "I'm going to Belize." she said happily. "Anna's aunt is there working and my dad got it set up that I can go for a few weeks and observe a real life Mayan ruin!" Wasn't that so cool? "I've been reading about it and I'm excited to see it." |
Quote:
"Avoid reading? Oh, I love reading. I can't seem to get my hands on enough books, or quidditch magazines. I play as well." She nodded and subconsciously rubbed her still healing arm. "I hope I get to play on the team again this year, but I'll have to see what the doctors say. I might have to sit out this year." It really wasn't that bad to have to sit out, but she'd rather play. It could have been much worse, like Daisy, who would never be able to play again. "What sort of letter did you get?" Her curiosity was piqued. "Oh, from your Aunt? You haven't ever met her before?" She reached out to give Maeve a comforting pat on the shoulder, but stopped part way. She wasn't sure if the older girl would like it or not. They weren't exactly friends and she didn't want to make her feel awkward. |
Crashes! Maeve and Emmalyn :D On a hot summers day nothing was better than a bowl of yummy ice cream. Especially after shopping for hours on end. Not only did her feet actually hurt, which wasn't something that was common for her but her face was flushed from the summer sun and her shoulders might have been getting slightly sunburned. She really should put on some more sunscreen soon. Like right after she found a place to sit and enjoy her tasty treat. With her charmed bag on her shoulder, pet rat Neptune on the other shoulder tucked up against her neck and bowl of strawberry ice cream topped with whipped cream, sprinkles and cherry she looked around for an empty table. A wide smile formed on the Gryffindor's lips when she spotted not an empty table but two of her friends from school sitting together. Rylee made her way over to their table greeting them both with a wave even as she spoke. "Maeve, Emmalyn! Hi!" |

The fourteen year old snorted as the girl went on about reading and she did wonder why she might not get to play. Had she gotten injured from those attacks that Kamryn had told her about? No one died, but honestly, Maeve had ZERO idea how bad it actually was down on the grounds that night and while it seemed everyone was quiet at the feast, she hadn't the slightest inkling that it had anything to do with the attacks. She just assumed it was related to end of year things. Almost made her feel guilty for missing out on the action, but maybe ... not knowing ... was better? "Yea. I just ... I'm not really much a reader. My attention can't stay focused that long." She laughed, but then fell quiet again as the conversation moved back to about the letter. She wasn't going to bring up about her injuries; might be traumatic. Until a younger Gryffindor - who was Emmalyn's age actually?? - approached their table. "Oh hey, Rylee." Right. Back to the letter. "Yea never met her. She's been in Egypt. I've seen pictures and like my mum used to tell me stories about her and how she looked up to her... but i guess, she was just ... she's apparently my guardian. Or was supposed to be, but authorities couldn't really track her down?" she shrugged. "But she's back and I ... I guess she wants to take ownership of my care and I'm not really sure why." |
Quote:
Quote:
"Your aunt is your guardian? I guess that means your parent are...? " She trailed off a bit, not sure if she should say the word or not. She knew what it felt like to not have parents around anymore. Although, her parents hadn't died, they just didn't want her any longer. "So, she's back. Do you think you will go and meet her?" She thought for a moment about what that might be like. "I could go with you, if you don't want to do it alone." Emmalyn could do that. She could be a sort of buffer between the two. "How's your summer going, Rylee? Anything neat happening?" She glanced at her shoulder "Hey, Neptune." Emmalyn wasn't sure how she felt about the pet rat, but Rylee seemed to like him. |
Maeve & Emmalyn! "It's great to see you both too! I hope you're having a nice summer?" Rylee smiled warmly the words spoken ringing truer than ever. A lot of people had been injured and others rather traumatized due to last terms events, herself included. All she wanted to know was that each of her friends were recovering the best they could. It was all anyone could ask for. At the offer to sit with them she nodded slipping down onto the empty chair. "Thanks!" Having missed a portion of the conversation between Emmalyn and Maeve, Rylee remained quiet. It sounded like Maeve was going through a rough time. She didn't exactly know either of the girls living situations and she wasn't about to ask. If they wanted her to know she would be told. This was the perfect time to busy herself with eating her ice cream which is exactly what she was doing. Mmm sweet creamy tasty strawberry goodness. "Mm, it's going alright. I've been keeping myself super busy." The more things she had to do the less time she had to think about the inferi attacks or the nightmares she still had from it. Rylee smiled widely as Emmalyn greeted Neptune. The rat was her buddy for sure even if she knew not everyone was found of rats. "How's your summer going?" Blue eyes moved from one girl to the other indicting she was speaking to them both. |
Quote:
She was about to take a big lick of ice cream while she listened to Cia talk. ”Belize?!?!” In a very very loud and squeaky voice. It was a good thing that they were eating ice cream. Because had she been taking a drink she probably would have spit it out. And what wasn’t very adult like. ”When are you going? Tell me about everything you have read about it.” She wanted to hear all about it before and after. It just sounded so cool and her friend was so lucky to get to go there. |

She helped herself to some ice cream during the slight pause in conversation. "In a few weeks." she said nodding. "I've read a lot of things. Do you want to hear about the animals there? Or what grows there? Or places to see? Or the history?" Because she. read. it. all. |
For Lisa/Cam Despite having stocked up on all of his supplies and purchased all necessary new books already, he was here again. Diagon Alley wasn't exactly one of Max's favourite places to be but it sure beat the Carden residence. Especially in recent days. He'd begrudgingly put up with it all at first, but there were only so many hair ruffles and hugs he could handle and he'd reached his limit pretty fast. So yeah, he'd made an escape. And now here he was, trying his hardest to ignore the hustle and bustle around him and just enjoy his own company. Well... and the company of an obscenely enormous lemondrop sundae. The local cafe in Falmouth REALLY needed to start stocking up on this flavour. FOR REAL. |

At least that's what he was telling himself. "Max." Cam greeted his friend with a smile as he slid into the seat across from him. "Can I join you?" Technically, yes, he already HAD joined him but he assumed they were close enough for Max to just tell him to bugger off if he was meeting someone else. Or if he wanted to be alone. Either of the two options, Cam would wholeheartedly understand. Anyway, hello. |
Quote:
And the brain freeze decided to rear it's ugly head juuuuuust as Cam popped up out of nowhere. "Uhhhhhhghhh..." Max grimaced and rubbed at his temple, while simultaneously trying to nod and let his friend know that yeah it was completely fine to join him. Just having a moment here, totally cool. Totally cool. |
Quote:
 What did that mean? Max was giving him somewhat mixed signals but there was also nodding so he took that as being allowed to stay? "You alright?" Cam's face fell a little, brows knit together to form a small frown. He set down his ice cream on the table and leaned over towards Max a little. Err. Did he need help??????? |

She had so much more energy when it involved shopping for clothes or accessories. Taking a lick of her chocolate frog ice cream, she looked around the courtyard and found it...terribly crowded. There was sort of an empty seat by an older boy that she vaguely recognized as one of her housemates...vaguely. She couldn't remember his name but she was pretty sure he wasn't her year. Oh well. Time to make friends! "Bonjour! Can I sit here?" she asked with a smile, heading up to the boy and batting her eyelashes just a bit to make her seem more welcoming and stuff. |
Quote:
“Uhhh. Yeah, yeah, m’fine…..” He totally was because the brain freeze was mostly starting to wear off, thank goodness. “It happens every time but I still never learn my lesson…. brain freeze.” Would there ever be a time when he wasn’t completely embarrassing himself? Probably not. He rubbed at his forehead a bit more, just for good measure and sent a apologetic smile across the table. “What’s up?” That was Max talk for ‘How’s it going? Are you having a good summer?’ |
Quote:
Once he explained, however, Cameron relaxed though, leaning back in his seat again and picking up his spoon. "Oh." He even let out a soft chuckle because now that he knew that Max was in fact alright, it was actually kind of funny. That must have been a REALLY big brain freeze. Nomming on his ice cream - yes, the three scoops had been a great idea, thank you for sitting out here, Max - Cam gave a sort of one-sided shrug. "Quidditch mostly." He gave the other boy a small smile before focusing on the deliciousness in front of him again. "You?" He hadn't seen him at any of his matches. But Max was...Max. He knew that the other boy wasn't really all that interested in Quidditch. |
Quote:
Ohhhh. Quidditch. "Cool. That's .... awesome." He didn't really think Quidditch was awesome but knew he should probably at least make an effort. "I hope you've been ... doing well. Y'know, winning and all that good stuff." Yeah, his Quidditch talk was all kinds of awful. Sorry, Cam. It was his turn to shrug when Cam returned the question. "I've been stuck kidsitting most of the time." The face he pulled as he said that was proof of how much he'd been enjoying that particular activity. Not. At. All. |

He had taken a spoonful of his heavily sprinkled ice cream when he sensed someone approach him. Drew looked at her, spoon still inside his mouth and he noted the use of French, before biting into the sprinkles and nodding. He was far too awkward to say no, anyway. She did, however, look a bit familiar to him, just like everyone else who lived in the Ravenclaw tower. He may have been hiding behind a book, but he did recognise the usual faces he'd see passing by. "G-go ahead..." he finally responded after swallowing his ice cream. Drew promptly wiped his mouth with a piece of tissue. He was working on the not-being-awkward aspect. "...D-do you have sssomething in your eye?" Because he had noticed the batting there, and that had to mean something, right? |
Quote:
Cameron smiled at the other boy, genuinely appreciating his efforts in engaging with him here. While at the same time clearly not really interested in what they were talking about. "It's been going well, yeah." Thanks for asking, Maxton. Oh. "Kidsitting? Who?" Had he gotten a new sibling or something? To be honest, Cam didn't know ALL that much about the rest of Max's family, aside from who his parents and sister were. |
Quote:
Max nodded and scooped some more lemondrop ice cream into his gob. He was glad to hear it was going well. Even if Quidditch wasn't entirely his thing or his idea of fun, he still wanted his pals to do well. So that was good. Yep. He unceremoniously wiped at his mouth, just in case of ice cream dribble, and tilted his head at Cam. "My little brother and sister. Except they're not really that little anymore so it's dumb that I have to look after them. And they're annoying." Understatement of the year. "And they've been even more annoying since...." He trailed off and felt the tips of his ears burn red. Ummmmmm. Should he tell Cam now? He was gonna find out soon anyway... |
Quote:
He made a mental note of that. Anyway, back to Max. "Oh, how old are they?" He could relate to kidsitting but was usually more excited about it than Max seemed to be. As for the unfinished sentence, Cam just looked at him curiously, waiting for him to continue. "Since what?" Had something happened? He wasn't the best at picking up on nonverbal cues but even HE could tell that Max had something on his mind. |

Of course what she didn't know was that even if she didn't meet her before the train arrived, she'd be seeing her at Hogwarts. So there was really no escaping her aunt. Which answered Rylee's question about her summer. She sighed. "Enough about me. What about the two of you?" |
Quote:
Good question. He had to think about that for a moment. "Alex is eleven and Evie is..... I dunno. Older than six but younger than eleven. I think." Somewhere in that range anyway. Honestly, it wasn't his fault. He had too many siblings, it was tricky keeping track sometimes. No wonder he never remembered birthdays. "This is probably gonna sound crazy and you have to promise not to laugh, okay?" He didn't give Cam any time to make the promise though, figuring that he wouldn't laugh because Cam was COOL. "...... but I got this letter last week, right? Saying that I was gonna be a prefect." Okay, you can laugh a little if you want, Cam. |

She had been to New York a bunch of times, why they called it the concrete jungle was beyond her? There wasn’t anything jungley about it. ”Oh.. The animals and the plants.” She would use those as starters. Who were they kidding, they were so going to end up talking about EVERYTHING. |
Quote:
She need to figure out what the prizes where for their little "Spot the Creature" game. "There's all sorts of flowers there. I could maybe bring some back? I think I could buy seeds or maybe a potted plant at the marker or something." Obviously planned on bringing back more than that as a souvenir, but that would be a nice bonus. |
For whoever would like to meet him! Reese had finally gotten his ice cream and headed out to find a place to sit. No spots in the shade looked to be available as he looked around. Ah!.. There was a spot at a table that was empty. So, he made a bee-line straight for it with his small cone of chocolate ice cream. There he had a seat and began to tend his melting treat. |
Ah, cookies and cauldrons! No better flavor existed in the entire world. Mostly because they hadn't made fry flavored yet. Dizzy carried hers outside, as the place had been packed inside, and she distinctly remembered an empty table out here. Er...it had been empty. Now there was a boy sitting at the table. Alone. Which was still the best option as the other tables were full. So, Dizzy made her way over to him and introduced herself in her still very clear Dutch accent. "Hi, I'm Dizzy. Er, my name is Dizzy..." She'd already had that mistake once. "May I sit?" |
Quote:
Reese looked up as he heard a girl's voice. He regarded her somewhat cooly as he looked her over. Finally gesturing to an empty seat.. " By all means.. Sit.." He wasn't at all in the mood to socialize, but he wasn't going to make the blonde girl stand awkwardly while there were three perfectly good chairs set around the table he happened to be sitting at. He wasn't a jerk. He just wasn't your typical happy go lucky, looking to make friends, sort of Badger.. " I'm Callum.. call me Cal.. ", he replied before going back to licking his cone. It hadn't been very long since deciding to start going by his middle name. He wanted to be separate from his sisters.. He didn't want to match and be part of a set.. He was his own person and he had decided this would be the first step in his transformation in becoming an individual. |
Reese Dizzy smiled widely and sat down, enjoying a scoop of her ice cream as she did. Unlike the boy, she didn't get a cone, opting instead for a small bowl with one of those little pink stained wooden spoons. "Nice to meet you, Cal!" She eyed his ice cream as she spoke. "What flavor is that? Is it good?" Dizzy was just being Dizzy, friendly and social and completely unaware the boy had no interest in being such himself. "Do you go to Hogwarts? I am starting there in the fall. Second ye..." A soft mew from her bag interrupted her and a tiny black kitten's face peeked through. "Um...do you know if ice cream is safe for kittens?" |
Dizzy Okay.. Apparently, if your name is Dizzy that means your not so great at picking up on body language.. Just because he let her sit down at the table didn't mean he was all for conversing... He rolled his eyes with a sigh as she began to play 21 questions... With herself.. He wasn't at all interested in getting to know a blinking thing about her. He had just simply sat down to eat his ice cream. " It's just chocolate.. Nothin' special about it.", he answered quickly. " I'm goin' into my second year there.", nodding. Then his attention was pulled to the wee black cat in her bag. " It won't kill 'im, just give 'im a bad stomach.." |
Maeve & Emmalyn! (Noticing Reese & Dizzy!) Rylee had been very quietly enjoying her little bowl of ice cream while listening to Maeve talk. It was a strange feeling to her realizing just now that while she was housemates with Maeve she really didn't know all that much about her. Not anything personal anyhow, not like what she was learning right now. The mention of Stemp House really caught her attention. Had she know that? She knew what it was, Drew lived there. That place was wonderful, such strong caring people opening their hearts and homes to kids and teens that needed them. It actually made her smile a little knowing that her friend sitting across from her was staying there... not for the reasons which landed her there because that was horrible but that she was getting support and love while being there. Not wanting to keep the mood sad as she could tell how much it was hurting her feel Gryffindor she offered a soft smile. "Like Emmalyn already said... I'll be happy to go with you too if you like. When you meet your aunt and all that." Friends always stuck together especially in troubling times and Rylee never let a friend down. "My summers going okay. Doing the same things I always do." Trying to prepare herself for hopefully keeping a spot on the Quidditch team, practicing violin, dance, tending to her flowers and working on her flower crowns, lots and lots of time with her family and pets. Typical Rylee stuff. Speaking of family... was that Reese?! There was no missing that head of bright curly ginger hair that was her brothers sitting at a table off to one corner with a girl she didn't recognize. Part of her wanted to get up and go over and say hello but another much louder part of her told her to stay where she was and enjoy time with her friends. Which was what she was going to do. She could always say hi to them after she was finished with her ice cream... which was now melting. Oops. |

”If not you can always take tons of pictures.” Harper loved pictures, and she loved taking them too. She had gotten a new camera for her birthday. So she had been taking pictures with it like crazy. Or maybe Cia could pack her in her suitcase and she could be the professional photographer for their trip. |

Cam perked up at that a little. "Oh, so Alex is coming to Hogwarts this term then?" Presumably. Unless he...or was Alex a she? was going to be homeschooled. It WAS a possibility what with all the craziness piling up at Hogwarts. "It will be my sister's first year in September, too." He added, smiling a little at the thought. Honestly, he wasn't sure how he'd have handled Holly coming to Hogwarts last year but sixth year wouldn't be THAT busy. Hopefully. Max knew how to build up suspense, did he know? Cam had even stopped eating his ice cream, spoon still in his mouth. Just...WHAT was going on? He nodded when Max asked him not to laugh (what?) but didn't say anything. Until his friend FINALLY told him the news, that is. That's when Cameron pulled the spoon from his mouth and grinned at him. "That's awesome, Max. Congratulations!" He reached over to tap the back of his spoon against Max's hand. Prefect, wow. |
Quote:
Bad stomach? "Oh. Sorry, Solstice. You can't have any. No...don't give me that face. Not for kittens." With a dramatic sigh, Dizzy turned back to Callum. He was going to be a second year too! "So...what is Hogwarts like? I've been asking everyone I've met that goes there that." And yet, she really hadn't gotten an actual answer yet. |
Quote:
Holy crups!.. She had more to say to a stranger than he had to say to his family all summer! She just kept on talking and talking.. Inward sigh.. " I know that chocolate is inherently magical.. Everyone knows that in the Magical World.." he replied flatly. Cal ate nearly the rest of his ice cream cone while she argued with her kitten about her ice cream. But she regained his attention by starting to talk and inquire about Hogwarts.. Oh joy.. A transfer. " It's the best school for witchcraft and wizardry.. It's a huge enchanted castle.. It's really the best place on Earth..", he said. It was his honest opinion.. There were loads of places to hide yourself away there. |
Quote:
Sigh. That's it? That's all she gets? "Why is everyone so absurdly vague about the school?" Because really that didn't tell her at all what it was really like and sounded more like a newspaper ad to get students to enroll. "Guess, I'll just have to see for myself." And then write her friends at Beauxbatons all about it, so whatever secret thing about Hogwarts that made all the students only give the most unhelpful vague answers, would be out and spread acrossing the schools. She returned to eating her ice cream. |
Quote:
Cal heard her loud and clear. His ears were acutely tuned to low volume noises... He'd spent enough time in the woods with his fox, Radar, listening to the sounds of nature. He didn't respond to her comment. He wasn't going to give her the satisfaction of it bothering him. " It's hard to describe what Hogwarts is like.. It's full of history and mystery. But it is also the scariest place I've ever been. Strange things happen there and sometimes ya end up havin' to fight for yur life..", he said plainly. It was true.. Just last term he and his sister and other students were injured by grindylows in the Black Lake and there had been an Inferi attack just before the Masquerade Ball and the Prom.. Why was it they were all heading back there again? |
Quote:
She nodded enthusiastically. "Of course I'll take pictures. Lots. You'll see them and it'll be just like you were there." she said happily. It was her goal not to miss anything. She had to take loads of pictures to share with her bestie. |
