"Yeah, Iza doesn't know. She doesn't need to know, ok?" Adam looked at Robert a little sternly to get the point of cross that he wouldn't blink twice of turning him into a little rodent if he spilt the beans to her.
Robert shook his head and said, "Of course not! I don't really talk to her much either... but I wont tell anyone!" This guy kinda freaks him out a bit..

Robert wanted to say pure, but it might we weird for a pure wizard to work in the muggle world, and he wasn't going to say muggleborn, so he said the one that was left, "Half."

"Half? Nice but that wasn't what i meant." He laughed and in a low voice so no one around them can hear, "I meant are you good or dark?"
oohhh... Robert left a little embarassed, "Oh.. okay sorry, I'm good, you?"
"Should of figured that." He spun his ring around and was happy that he decided to hide his tattooes, "..... i'm.......uh......good of course." Adam tried to laugh it off knowing it was his own fault, "Dark magic is bad and Iza would be furious if i were a dark wizard."

No. But then, after she gave it a bit of thought, she knew she would end up attending anyway. And, since she was free to invite one other guest, why pass up a good opportunity to be with Nigel, right? So the woman half-tricked Nigel into coming.
The woman was wearing a red gown that was more fancy than anything she had ever worn, besides her wedding dress so many years ago. by a happy coincidence, she matched her... her date, whom she had one black gloved hand on. As they entered, she led him, sort of, off to one side, out of the way of the crowd. That was something nice she and Nigel had in common-- They were both shy people. He was more shy than she was, and it was... cute. It was cute.
So this would count as a second date, she thought to herself as she turned to face him. UGH. He was so TALL and HANDSOME. "Thank you again for coming. It's nice to not have to be here by myself," she half-sighed, knowing that, if Nigel hadn't come along, this night wouldn't be a pleasant one. At least... not as pleasant as it was likely to be.
Sure Nigel had heard of the events that had taken place at the ministry. Being a muggleborn shopkeeper amongst those threatened by the Cult with the disappearances had him have some connection and Elinor had given him the rest. Mostly Elinor. But had he known about the ball? No...not until the woman had come into his shop one day to visit and mentioned it. The next thing he knew he was somehow coming with her as her to the celebratory event as her guest.
He couldn't help feel a bit out of place.
The fact that it was a second date helped make things still fresh and nerve-wracking. It had taken him forever to decide what to wear and in the end they had inadvertadly matched with his red shirt/tie and her red gown. A beautiful gown...
...On a beautiful woman.
Elinor's gloved hand on his jacketed sleeve, Nigel followed her lead since she knew her way around. The entrance hall was crowded though many could be seen and heard in the room adjacent as the party played on. "You're welcome," he said turning to her as they stopped off to one side. As much as it felt odd to be at the Ministry, at some richly decorated event, being with her helped. Then it wasn't just him out of place, he had a companion to feel familiar with. "Looks like they made things very nice," he mused his gaze absently glancing around unsure what to say.

She couldn't help but smile up at him for a few moments before forcing herself to look elsewhere, just as he was mentioning how the place was decorated. She happened to glance at his tie, which, although made him seem adorable in a handsome kind of way, was not straightened to her liking. So, like any woman would do, she reached up and gently adjusted it.
"Kind of a big deal. The Cult is gone, a new Minister is taking office... Yes, I would think a little decoration would be appropriate," she mused back, dropping one hand, but was unable to stop the other from briefly touching his hair, even though there was not a thing wrong with it. "Speaking of very nice things," she continued, where traditionally, it would be his line-- "You look wonderful, Nigel. It's nice to see you so... dressed up."
Says the woman who owns one dress.
She pressed her lips together briefly before half-turning after a small pause. "Um... There's a buffet through there, there's plenty of places to sit down and..." she paused, almost uncomfortably, but she decided to go on with what she was saying anyway. "Right through there-" she gave a brief, pointed look with her eyes before looking back to him- "is the dance floor."
It came out innocently enough, softly, and hopefully in a manner that wouldn't spook him, but she still watched carefully for his reaction to the term.
"Yeah and i dont want to make the cute Iza mad." He looked over to where the girls headed to a while ago, "It would be terrible if she hates me espeically after all that happened."
"if you don't mind me asking, what happen," Robert was a bit curious! He saw something going on with them earlier, but he didn't ask.
Dean's ego was affected when Chelsea laughed at him. Merlin! Was his nerves that obvious? He tried to cover up his embarassment when she gandered at Jax and Ali. "They are," he agreed with the lady. "Do you think we're as sweet as them?" Dean smirked cheekily. Apart from his physical and sense of responsibility, he didn't grow so much.
Glancing around the place, Dean mused before he decided on what to do. "Are you hungry?" he turned back to his girlfriend. He was quite hungry too, didn't have anything since breakfast. Working all day long didn't do any good to the young man's body.
Chelsea hadn't meant to make Dean embarrassed - and really, the whole idea of the ball had just scared her a bit as well since she hadn't been to one since. Well, they didn't really have balls in Los Angeles. Sure they had Galas and movie openings but she was not a star. No this little witch stayed out of the limelight as a kid yes, very much out. She wasn't sure she even liked balls but dressing up and having a good time was always fun right?
Especially when Fire Whisky and other such drinks were involved. "Well, I think their whole sweetness really comes from the height difference...imagine portraits you'd always have to have Jax sitting or you'd just get the tip of Ali's head." Fair point. But it was adorable - she loved her roommate and now Step-Sister in Law with all her heart. She smiled brushing the edge of the slip in dress slightly. "Honestly, Dean I think we both have our own sweetness really...its a different kind though - ours is well, new...we just need to learn more about each other." She smiled over to him her stomach growled as she heard him speak of food. Yes she was hungry.
"Yeah food sounds wonderful about now - I haven't had much at all today to be honest" she blushed softly. Yeah she had eaten a Bran Muffin while running off to work that morning - and that was it nothing more. Just a stupid muffin.

If that was possible.
Upon his return to the office, Tag was told rather persuasively that the dragon wranglers on duty needed to get their reports in, rent a tux, and show up tonight to represent their department. He was not entirely surprised to hear that there was new leadership, and it wasn't a great loss to him since he'd never met the old one either. . . it felt like revolving bosses around here for the last couple of years. But they had missed the big Meeting and other Important Bureaucratic S(tuff), as Tag liked to call it, so here he was.
At least there would be free food.
Tagren spotted another fellow lingering in the hallway, looking slightly uncomfortable himself. "Nice night," Tag proffered, sidling up and nodding at the man. "I guess they went all out, eh? This new leadership must think they're pretty fancy to throw themselves a ball." He didn't have a particularly high opinion of the Board. All stuffshirts, probably. "Have they made any bloody speeches yet? I just got here and I'd like to have missed them all." He shot a wry grin at his new acquaintance.
Atticus had taken another step towards the ballroom but was stopped once again by a voice. Seemed he wasn't going to be as alone as he thought. Thank Merlin.
Hm? When Atticus turned to look at the man who had come up to him, he noticed the rather painful-looking bruise above his left eye. How he had received something like that, Atticus briefly wondered but didn't linger upon it. The man was speaking to him after all, and tuning him out would be rude.
It was a nice night, and so Atticus nodded his agreement, but he raised an eyebrow at his new companion's next statement. "Is that a bad thing?" The way he said it, it certainly seemed he thought so. "I'm afraid I don't see anything wrong with the leadership knowing how to throw a proper ball. The victory over the Cult is certainly something worth celebrating and throwing a proper ball for after all." He didn't know a great deal about the Cult of Walpurgis himself, having only started working at the Ministry a few months ago, and so he had not been extremely involved in it. He did know, however, that the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, among many others, had overthrown them, and if a group like law enforcement was against the Cult, it stood to reason that the organization was pretty bad and deserved to be overthrown.
Bloody speeches? Such language. It seemed this man seemed, in fact, to be even less excited than Atticus was about this ball. Hm. "Bloody speeches? No, I don't believe so. There was a woman who gave a speech a few minutes ago, but I wouldn't have called it a 'bloody' one," he replied, returning the slightly wry smile. And he doubted this man had missed them all - there were surely more speeches to come, but Atticus decided not to comment on that now.

Ah, it seemed one of them - Laurel Bellefleur - had noticed him and was heading his way now. So he smiled once more as she approached. "And you look very beautiful, Miss Bellefleur," he replied. All the ladies looked extra beautiful in their dresses tonight. It suddenly made him wonder if... But he dismissed that thought. No need to ruin his evening, as it certainly would if he pursued that train of thought. "I'm doing quite wall, thank you, and you?" He then nodded and cast a brief glance at their surroundings. "It is," he answered. "Quite impressive." Overwhelming, too, as that one woman had said.

Ah, and here was the young man he had noticed from before. Atticus smiled politely and accepted his hand, giving it a firm shake as he introduced himself as well. "Atticus Aldredge." And now the young man - Mr. Brise - was apologizing? "It is quite alright," he replied. "No harm done." Just a bit of confusion, but now that was mostly settled. "If you don't mind me asking, where was it you thought you recognized me from?" Atticus was certainly curious - perhaps that was the Ravenclaw in him - though he wouldn't be surprised if Mr. Brise chose not to answer. It was likely none of Atticus's business.
Still, it never hurt to ask.

Nala nodded as she listened. 'Oh really? Ah well, as long as you enjoy the department you're in!' She smiled.

"I don't really know what happened..." He paused, "All i know is that one day we were dating then the next she is yelling at me and broke up with me...." Adam reached up and ran a hand through his hair, "This is the first time in years that we actually talked." He shrugged.
Laurel was about to enter the main room when she heard the voice of what sounded like a young woman address her. Her hazel eyes turned and she then heard this young woman introduce herself as Millie Caxton. Laurel smiled brightly and then replied in a sweet tone,"Hello Millie Caxton, it's wonderful to meet you...My name is Laurel Bellefleur, I work in the Magical Creatures department.." Then she smiled again when Millie had complimented her dress,"OH thank you so much! I love it so much, although I have to lift it when I walk because it's a little bit too long, but aside from that, thank you again!" Laurel blushed a little bit feeling that she just rambled for no reason.
"Well it looks gorgeous on you Laurel." Millie said as she moved a strand of her long wavy red hair out of her face.
Yes. She had finally arrived. What she could NOT understand was why there was no fanfare when she entered the Ministry. There SHOULD have been. Perhaps TRUMPETS sounding would have been more suitable for a CEO turned Ministry Advisor. Well not TURNED... she still owned the modeling agency and all. Details...
A smile touched her lips and she made her way through the crowd, her nose turned up EVER so slightly.
Felicity was pretty used to coming to balls now. She had been dragged to them since she was little. So this was nothing new really. The new thing was, coming to them with her handsome boyfriend. Her poor injured, handsome boyfriend. Fliss glanced down to his other arm. She was no healer, so she did certainly hope that it would cause him no pain tonight. They didn't really need a trip to St mungos, good thing it wasn't a major major injury. It had still made her worry about him though. Fliss hadn't really liked getting the message that Gabe had gotten hurt. It hadn't been nice.
"I know you're not..." She grinned up at him. It suited him though, and she knew without it, he'd probably have just looked like he'd turned up for work. In a white suit. Yeah. That was nice too. She'd enjoyed picking this out. She looked around the entrance as he spoke. Fliss rarely came to the ministry, her domain was she shops really, but Gabe was right. "It does." She nodded with a smile. Maybe she'd have to come around more often, now that the cult was gone.
In truth he wasn't all that keen for someone else to pick out his clothes for him. But Fliss was a fashion journalist, so Gabriel was trusting her judgement. And he hadn't been to a ball for years, so was a little out of practice with the dress code. Apart from the bow tie though, he wasn't displeased with it. At least he didn't look like a waiter like Recard did.
Heh, yes. He'd spotted the man, greeting the guests in his new role as Minister's gopher. Something he was much more suited to. But Gabe wasn't going to dwell on that idiot tonight, he was going to enjoy himself with his girlfriend. Smiling back at her, he nodded his head and gestured inside the doors. "Shall we? I think we could both do with a drink, don't you?" Because apparating was thirsty work.

Felicity eyed a waiter, pondering over him for a second. "I dressed you better than him right?" She mused with a smile, tucking her arm through his, and keeping close. Fliss didn't want to lose him, because she had a feeling that she might not find him again. She really did think he looked nice though. The white suit made him stand out against the bland blank that most people were wearing, which made her smiles. She was a Summers, and they were born to stand out. Hopefully Gabe would understand that.
A drink? That sounded nice. Apparating did make one tired after all. Fliss nodded with agreement, smiling. "All that apparating made you tired?" She asked with a smirk, as she waited for him to lead her through the doors. He did know the ministy better than she did after all. It was his domain.

Nigel's attention was returning to his 'date' when Elinor was suddenly messing with his tie. He stood in place unable to move as she worked not because of her own actions keeping him there but because he had no clue as to how to react. The shopkeeper nodded as she spoke, taking her words in in agreement. He raised a curious eyebrow as she mentioned nice things once more, the man doing his best not to color as the lab worker turned it into a complement for him.
"Um...thank you," he replied tentatively, watching her every move as she switched from fixing his tie to touching his head to meerly inspecting his look. "Admittedly doesn't happen often as you'd likely guess."
"You look...wonderful yourself," Nigel managed, the words truthful but he was still nervous about admitting feelings. "Red...is a good color." Pushing past the moment, the former Ravenclaw turned his attention as Elinor did to their surroundings once more, listening to her explaination of the layout but only vaguely paying attention. Though at the mention of a dance floor it caught his attention.
"If you say so," he replied calmly enough. Relax Garrettson, he mused to himself. "Perhaps we should at least head to seats."
