The Dance Floor Encompassing most of the stage with all its grandness and extending out into every corner of the ball, holding no true form, is the dance floor. While the white marble flooring stretches towards every part of the ball, the majority of it centers around the stage and dinning area. A gold ministry symbol is embedded in the center of the dance floor, sparkling just a bit brighter than the floor itself. Or it could be the crystal chandelier giving it that effect. The large floating light fixture is centered high over the emblem, surrounded by white illuminated bleeding hearts dangling from ceiling and spread across the dance floor, all casting dancing silhouettes across the ballroom, even when no one's dancing. The lights from the illuminated flowers seem to be enjoying the ball as well, shadows joining each other in dance to whatever song that plays. All are welcome to join them, after all this ball is for you. |
Because someone had to start ... Lights gasped when she saw the dance floor. It was absolutely beautiful! She'd managed to lose Ethan in the crowds, but wasn't too worried. He'd find her eventually. She went out onto the dance floor and began twirling by herself, looking quite happy. |

Out of nowhere, a popping noise sounded from the middle of the dance floor, and a small creature with long ears appeared. The creature looked around in attempts to recognize the place before moving too far away from the spot where it apparated. He had been to the ministry before and he knew he was told to show up at the Atrium. He was supposed to show up only the following day, but Poppen was far too excited to wait another day. H wanted to clean something and he wanted to do it now. Poppen raised his hands to shield his eyes from all the shining lights, and noticed some figures moving in a rather strange gait. He evaded them as they made their way towards him, and proceeded onward, finally realizing that this was the ministry. It wasn't the same ministry he had seen before, it was redecorated and pretty. Poppen was both furious, but mostly sad. How could they clean everything and make everything pretty without him?! He stomped his little foot on the floor and stormed to towards the seating, where he was bound to find something dirty so that he could clean it up! |

Did she thank... His face brightened even more after the kiss on his cheek. "Oh, I wouldn't miss the chance for the world." he grinned, placing one hand on her waist as they reached a good place on the dance floor. Definitely worth it. |
Quote:
Right, his hand on her waist...her hand in his and the left one on his shoulder right? She offered her right hand as her left one found his shoulder. With these heels on she was basically completely level with him. "Bare with me..it's been a while since I've done any formal dancing..." |
Quote:
Yes, he'd never waltzed before. The thought of saying 'me too' had crossed his mind, but really, he didn't want to dig himself a hole. He was bound to mess up. Layla did say she'd done this before. "I'm sure you're a natural." he commented. Guys were supposed to lead weren't they? Merlin help him. |
Quote:
She chuckled lightly. Her a natural..no not really. It took a whole lot of classes for her to get anywhere close to decent." And I'm sure you're just patronizing me...you don't have to stop though.." She winked at him and waited for him to lead them. |
Quote:
Patronizing? Him? Never. *wink wink* A light chuckle escaped him before that sinking thought that she was waiting for him to start hit him. Right. If there was anything he was ever nervous about, it would be this. Fighting against wizards to get the best materials for wands was one thing, but trying to impress someone with dance skills was a WHOOOLE different story. Right foot first, right? Did it go forward? Or backwards? Did he have to TWIRL!?!? Despite his nerves, he started to take steps, guiding Layla as he did so. Hopefully the appropriate steps. Hopefully none of them landed on her feet either. |
Quote:
As he took the first tentative steps she smiled and rested her head on his shoulder. He wasn't stepping on her toes yet.. "It's okay..you're doing pretty good." Better than she expected anyways. |
Quote:
"Thank Merlin. Don't have two left feet." Trouble was, he couldn't look at his feet now. Great. It didn't matter though. Especially when he was doing 'pretty good'. Just hopefully Layla wasn't expecting anything elaborate. He could possibly turn maybe...and maybe twirly her once or twice, but even in his mind he saw himself flat on his face. How that could possibly happen, he didn't know. |
Quote:
She giggled." Yeah it's a good thing you don't. I can't promise you anything about me though." She lifted her head from his shoulder." Did I tell you about my promotion?" She asked as they waltzed. |

As soon as they left the entrance hall, Mason heard her ask where they should sit. But he led her a little ways towards the dance floor. All part of his plan. "Actually... I was hoping we could dance?" He suggested, leading her out. If all went as planned, they would dance, he would tell her how much he loved her and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her, and then... Hopefully she would say the same.... Gulp. |
Quote:
Abruptly they stopped. She looked left and right then back to him, ”Umm, I rather not dance.”She shook her head in disapproval; this was not going to work at all. ”I umm…” The woman kept a hold of hand and tried to find an empty table, ”There can we sit there?” They had to be sitting for this to work, they HAD to sit. She gripped his hand and started in the direction of the empty table, ”I uhhh can’t dance in these shoes.” The woman pulled her dress up slightly and shown a beautiful strappy very unstable heel. |

But Medea didn't want to dance. At all, it seemed. She was shaking her head. Mason was trying his hardest not to frown or act disappointed, but it was hard. "But, I... I was hoping-" He was cut off when Medea asked if they could sit there. There? Where? And then he was being tugged along. Mason followed his |

Realizing they'd wandered onto the dance floor, Alexander paused and looked around with an eyebrow raised. "Well, Potions Mistress," he said, grinning a bit wickedly and turning to face her, "it seems we've reached the dance floor." He took a steo back just to give himself a little more room, and then he extended his hand to her. "May I?" He was being oh, so polite tonight. He had to. The Minister of Magic should likely be on his very best behavior at this sort of thing. That didn't mean, though, that he couldn't admire his gorgeous date in the process. |

Hearing him ask her if he may, she turned to face him. She beamed at him and gave a deep curtsey before extending her hand for him to take. "You may have anything you desire, Captain. Anything I can give you, is yours." She said and waited for him to lead her around the dance floor. |

Becky led Tim on to the dance floor, beaming. "Care to dance?" she asked, looking round at the grand scene. Her blue eyes sparkled underneath the crystal chanderlier above the dance floor and iluminating the ball. She looked in to Tim's dark eyes, kissing him on the cheek, gently. |
She should have forced Jeremy to come with her, she so should have. At least then she wouldn't be standing here on her own right now. Not that she had expected any of that. She hadn't really thought a lot about what coming here would be like in general to be honest. When Evander had mentioned this celebration she had just assumed that this would be a good opportunity to get back on track with what was going on at the Ministry nowadays. Somehow her feet had brought her over to the dance floor. Swaying slightly from left to right with the music, Alysson let her eyes dart around the room absently, not letting them rest on anybody in particular. She had missed so much, hadn't she? She wasn't entirely certain, but she was pretty sure she had just seen the Magical Transportation department head serving other people drinks. What in the world had happened there anyway?! |

"You know," he started a few minutes later, "I reapplied for the Ministry this year." |

Lights stared at Ethan when he said he had reapplied. "Why? I thought you liked your job at Maintenance? What department did you apply for?" She suddenly held up a hand, smiling. "Wait, I know. MLE, right? You reapplied for MLE." She'd bet her month's pay on it. |

Tugging on his necktie and suddenly wishing that he had taken a bit more time with his razor before heading out, he wandered to the dance floor when he saw someone...starring... He turned his head to follow her gaze, but it hadn't fallen on anyone that looked to be of any importance. That waiter fellow wasn't even that handsome, just your regular old dandelion when he was a on par with a canna. So, if logic served him right - which it always did - she could only be looking at him. "See something you like?" he asked with a rather large look on his face. Of course, this Herbologist was off limits. At least, he thought he was. His Poppy hadn't confirmed either way. |
Lol. Black and black? xD Quote:
Alysson's mental musings were interrupted however by a rather handsome guy talking to her. Shifting her gaze slightly so she was no looking at him, she put on a grin for him, clearly amused by his words. "Why yes. Very...likable." She replied, taking a small step into his direction. Then so it was VERY clear that she was in fact not talking about him, she added, "Do you know this guy?" Gesturing at Armen somewhere in the distance, she winked at the man before giving him an innocent smile. Still, she actually HAD been looking at somebody else. |
apparently? And it shall be glorious! Quote:
"Fantastic," he said, still clearly thinking that she was talking about him. He then followed the direction her finger was pointing to with his blue eyes until they fell on the waiter. Did he know him? Um...no? "I know very few people here," he replied, turned his head to look back at her. "I only arrived her a week or so ago from Perth. The one in Western Australia and now Scotland." Hence why he did not have one of those hard to understand accents. "Name's Aron," he said, extending his hand for a handshake. |
Quote:
Doubted that would make her any less of a brilliant dancer anyhow. Although, his eyebrows raised a little as he turned his head towards her. A promotion. "You did not." he said with surprise, attempting to turn a little so they weren't just stepping from side to side. "Congratulations Layla." |
Quote:
Oh, he was new?! "Same." Alysson agreed with him, sighing softly as she glanced around the dance floor once more. "It feels like I've been gone for a decade or something. Everything's different." Well, it probably wasn't but it certainly felt like it right now. "Australia." She repeated with an approving smile as he introduced himself. "Well, very nice to meet you then, Aron. I'm Alysson." She took his extended hand and gave it a soft shake, a smile on her lips. Letting her hazel eyes dart over to the dancing couples for a moment, Alysson watched them for a little while. She then returned her attention and gaze back to Aron and with a grin, took him softly by the arm. "D'you want to dance?" Because she certainly did. |

Rufin led Julianne through the crowds and onto the dancefloor. That was, after all, the only reason she had accompanied him. His dear fiancee could never resist a dance around the rich and powerful... and Rufin had no idea why she was marrying him... he hoped it was because she loved him. Anywho... dancing. He bowed slightly to his beautiful blonde angel and held his hand out to her, she took it, and he led her into the dancing, placing a hand on her hip and clasping her hand with his other. |
Harland perused the outside of the dance floor without much interest. Normally he would be looking for someone to dance with - and he was, of course - but not just any dateless girl would do. Oh, no what if she brought a date?? His skin paled for a moment, but he continued looking for Sophie regardless. She had to be here somewhere... |

"Just reminding myself that I'm the luckiest man in the world," he said. Being Minister of Magic wasn't too bad either. He stepped closer to her and took each of her hands, putting them into a dancing position... Text Cut: Abigail Kaufman on the Center Stage Alexander led the dance along as the opening speech began. Turning toward the stage, he listened as Abigail Kaufman detailed the victory against the Cult of Walpurgis. A feeling of pride and admiration swelled inside Alexander, as he recalled the day of the final battle--the fight and then the walk outside to the picket line. When his name was mentioned, he released one of Hecate's hand and gave a gesture toward the MC. It was one of those waves that one gives when they are mentioned or acknowledged in some way. Then he turned his attention right back to the wonder dancing right before him. "I love you," he whispered to her as they danced along. |
Quote:
But it wasn't the music that was important. "Oh, yeah, I did like my job in Maintenance... Three years ago when I was too young to get any other jobs. I mean, I'm twenty-three now, and I think I'm a bit overqualified for being a carpenter," he said calmly, not actually angry that he was still in maintenance. He had reapplied for much better reasons. "Yes, I applied for MLE, and I even wrote the old Transfiguration professor of Hogwarts for a reference. He graciously offered the 'assistance of his quill', as he said. Do you remember Julius? He was the old one who wore the funny hats." The hats were funny, you know. Ethan gave a smile and kissed his wife lightly. "But yeah, MLE. And you know exactly why. Especially since you got that promotion, who's going to fill your shoes?" Ethan gasped quietly, trying to hide it from the other partygoers. "The promotion!" he whispered urgently. "Which option did you choose? Sentinel, right?" |
Quote:
She stepped back and allowed him to take his moment, but as he turned back to her she resumed her dancing, and whispered. "I love you, Captain." |
Quote:
Lights shook her head. "No. Hit Witch. I'd prefer that, and they may need a good tracker there." They probably would - her animagus ability would be useful. "You wanted me to be Sentinel." It was a statement, not a question. "Why? You know I'm capable." Her voice was still quiet and measured. She'd done the training, she knew the ropes. But she still needed Ethan to reassure her that she'd made the right choice. |
Quote:
"Charmed," he said with a wink as he shook her hand. She wouldn't happen to be a Herbologist, would she? Some of the most beautiful women he knew were, including the most beautiful Poppy. Aron was never one to turn down the opportunity to dance. He was known to dance a mean Hornbeam Hustle. "I don't see why not," he said with a small nod. That is, until a certain blonde Herbologist showed up. |
Quote:
"Thank you. I think I'm going to really enjoy my new job, though I'll certainly miss my old Boss." She smiled at him. "I'm feeling a little hungry, are you ready to eat or are you up for some more dancing?" Either was fine with her really..but she was sure that eve if Bryce wanted food he wouldn't have suggested going for food first. |
Quote:
I don't see why not? Not EXACTLY the answer she'd been hoping for but he seemed willing enough. And nice enough. So while she normally would have voiced her thoughts, she for once didn't because she didn't want to ruin this. She needed something to do right now after all. Some distraction. Some kind of good distraction. So instead Alysson just raised her eyebrows at him and said, "Good." And simply looked up at him expectantly. She wasn't going to lead him to the dance floor. That was his part. |
Quote:
Ethan closed his eyes and kissed his wife, holding her close. He didn't want to ruin this moment with his own worries. |

Helena looked to where Ryan was indicating, with an eyebrow raised. Dance? Did she really look like she was able to dance? "Really, Ryan?" she asked, pointedly; quietly. The side of her mouth curled up into a smile. "Weeeeell... I suppose so. A dance or two can't hurt." Starting to move towards the dance floor with Ryan, Helena tried to remember the last time she'd danced at an occasion that was so formal. |
Quote:
"Ethan," whispered Lights, pulling away slightly to look into his eyes. "If I ... if something happened, I'd want you to be happy. You know that, right?" She searched his face as though she was rechecking the features she'd memorised a long time ago. |
Quote:
Somehow, that was far more amusing than it should have been. "Seems like anyone would." he muttered with a small smile, glancing over her shoulder to see just where waiter dude was and not all that aware that they stopped moving. Out of his site range apparently. OH! Food. He was aware of that. "Sure! I mean, if you want." |

Ballroom music. Lights still didn't like it. "Novo Musica," she whispered, and the music became something more upbeat, less formal but still dancing music. "I believe a new dance is in order," she announced, smiling. |

"What would you do if I sang along with the band? And didn't know the words? And couldn't sing?" |

It was comforting to know that she wasn't in danger of wiping out on the dance floor, four-inch heels notwithstanding. It was also comforting that, in spite of those heels, Rhys was still taller than her. On more than one occasion, she'd been constrained to flats for the sake of her date's pride. Morrigan looked around at the other couples, to see what they were doing, before asking, "What would you do if I started making steps up?" |
Quote:
Thankfully, Lights could break Ethan's dismal focus by changing the music. "I believe so! You lead, milady," he said with a smile and a bow. |
"These people are all in their own world here," Rhys offered. "We could do a whole song and dance number with our heads on fire, and they would continue to murmur sweet nothings to each other and not realize that people existed outside of their bubbles. It's... very tedious." Although he said it lightly, so perhaps he was just protesting to have something to say. |
Quote:
Then she pulled away and grinned, wrinkling her nose, "Was that tedious? Maybe I should stick to dancing with my head on fire." |
Quote:
"Let's leave the head on fire for a last resort." |
Quote:
Morrigan wasn't the most subtle at people-watching, though she did make an effort for Rhys's sake. It was almost impossible to keep the excited intrigue off her face, however, when there was kissing and declarations of love going on! Hopefully her date would give her a minute to gawk like a moron before prancing into the tango promised earlier in the evening. |
"You're staring," Rhys told her quietly, spinning Morrigan just a step closer so she could join the conversation if she chose. That wasn't necessarily the suavest of moves, but it was an amusing one. "You're remarkably light on your feet considering the amount of dessert you just put away. I'm impressed." |
Quote:
After she said it, she realized it could be applied to both her staring and the amount of food in her stomach. Now that Rhys had her undivided attention, in case he did that again, she accepted the compliment with a polite, "Thank you. You don't seem to have a problem with dancing, either." |
"No, I told you, Morr. I've got the MOVES." He did dip her, then, although he made sure to keep a very firm grip on his date in case she was as clumsy as she claimed. "You know what would make this party even better?" |

After a few minutes, Lights felt herself getting hungry. Her nose caught the tantalising scent of the buffet. Now her stomach was in serious danger of grumbling, and that would be very undignified. "Want to break for food?" she asked. |
Quote:
Their song was done, the ballroom music back, and Ethan was definitely out of breath. "Food sounds good!" he said, holding out his arm to escort Lights from the dance floor. |
Quote:
His chin nestled against her ear as he spoke. "Better music." |
Quote:
"Look at us, Hecate. All grown up and at the Ministry Ball--that all-star beater and her amazing Quidditch captain," he said with a wink. "Did you even see this in our future? Hecate, I'm the Minister of Magic." Of course he whispered all this into her ear. It was a 'heart on his sleeve' moment for him, and he didn't allow many people to witness that. As they danced around the floor, though, the way his life had changed in the past few days was suddenly becoming a reality to him. |
Elizabeth came onto the dance floor with Adam. She twirled and danced with him, trying to keep a smile on her face. |
I finally posted!!! :D Quote:
While Nicole danced with Robert she turned to Elizabeth with a humors smile and said, "Maybe we can switch parteners later?" Nicole laughed in her head, but thought that it might not be a bad idea, Elizabeth didn't seem to want to be around Adam so much, so why not keep him away a little. She smiled looking up at Robert. |

Elizabeth whispered harshly back, "Not here, at my work. Can you just behave for one night?" She sent a small glare at him but twirled out and into his arms again. Back in a normal voice, with a smile, "I'm impressed Adam. You have learnt how to dance since the last time." |
lol okay Quote:
Thinking back at his day Robert nodded and said once he remembered when he called, "Yes and the hotel around the corner for the reseption for 500? he closed his eyes a little to make sure he didn't mess up. "520," Nicole said, they could just call and add 20 more seats in, no problem, it was a pretty big room! Nicole hopped nobody made comments on them having a muggle wedding! It was easy to have one sence Robert's family (besides his parents and sister) that she was a witch. If the people from the wizarding world they invited didn't like the idea, than they didn't have to go, its fine, just will should would cares and not. Nicole then thought of how her grandmother will explode when she hears! Sighing Nicole smiled up at Robert trying to hide how she felt about that. |

Adam dipped Elizabeth low and looked like he was about to kiss her when he pulled her up and twirled her quickly. Elizabeth clench her teeth. That wasn't really an appropriate conversation for their current location, however, and he reacted to her returning the conversation to his own dating life with another raised eyebrow. "True, if things were traditional," he pointed out. "Not everyone just goes around looking for people to ask out on dates." He let the comment about the office stand, however. That was also true enough, especially as he'd thought the same not that long before. He gave her an almost blank look as she'd proposed dancing, though, as that was an abrupt change of topic yet again and it had startled him. He didn't see a reason to refuse, but that didn't mean he really wanted to dance. It would hopefully get the conversation off his love life, and that was the only reason he took her arm and headed for the dance floor. "I'm not too concerned about my toes." |
Quote:
She actually stopped to listen to what was playing, and then shook her head, "No, I have no idea who this is. But unless you plan on hijacking the stage, we're stuck with it." Which was pretty A-okay with her, considering she was just following along to whatever moves Rhys made up. |
"That's fair enough, I suppose. I don't think everyone here would appreciate all my tastes in music. I sometimes tend toward the more eclectic and whimsical. There's a fantastic throat singer with a show on WWN..." It was unnerving, actually, but he had a feeling it was good for the grapes. The grapes loved throat singing. "Maybe I should talk less." |

As he led her out to the dance floor, her eyebrows shot up in surprise. He was willingly dancing with her? Must be desperate for a end to the personal conversation. She became rather self conscious of herself then and looked around before looking at him and whispered, "I didn't expect you to agree to dance." No she expected another round of trying to avoid things and such. Standing near him she felt suddenly very unsure of what to do which was entirely not like her and her teeth found her bottom lip which she started nibbling nervously. Catching what she was doing she gathered herself back to her usual self confident self. "Lead on, Mr. Tamerlane," she said casually placing her free hand on his shoulder as lightly as possible. Maybe dancing wasn't such a good idea, she liked her distance physically as well as emotionally. |
Anyone wanna play? XD send me a VM if you claim us. Having arrived at the party.... later than anticipated, and having come alone, Emily found herself walking. Just walking. Anywhere that her heeled legs would carry her. She wasn't used to dressing up for ... well anything, but she made an exception for this. Everything looked beautiful, trully spectacular, and she wasn't just thinking of herself. No, the room was beautiful. It was so beautiful in fact that she was too focused on admiring the general splendor that she didn't have the slightest idea of where she was going, or who she was bumping into and 'rubbing shoulders with', so to speak. Eventually she came to a halt. And only then did she realise that she was standing at the edge of what appeared to be a dance floor. Oh Merlin no... dancing? She couldn't dance... and she had nobody to dance with. Ergo, this was a bad idea. "Why am I even here?" she asked herself. |
Roro Aww. There was a dance floor. That was cute, but Isobel had thought it would be there. It was a ball after all, people would dance, and right now Iz was feeling that a dance was a good idea. The blonde mused, glancing up at Wesley. She had a feeling that he might not be so up to dancing. It wasn't really that manly was it? But maybe they could have a dance, and then go get some food. That would be nice. She watched the couples dancing with a smile on her face, everyone did really look pretty. Iz smiled, looking up at Wesley. "Want to have a dance..." She mused, nodding her head over to the dance floor. Hopefully he wouldn't be able to say no to her, because that would ber pretty mean. And an upset auror didn't make a good girlfriend really. One dance, thats all she wanted really. |
For Heather & Ems :3 Quote:
His eyes flicked to the people twirling about across the spiffy space before his manners kicked him hard in the conscience. "Ah...before I forget. Emily, this is Heather. Heather, Emily." He paused and then waved his free, wrapped hand between them. "We all work for Law Enforcement." That was enough of an introduction, right? |

Sighing a bit, the tuxedo'd man took his girlfriend's hand and held it out in proper dancing form. He placed his other hand on her lower back and started gliding them around the floor, surprisingly agile and smooth for such a... rough manly man. "One dance, Miss Montague. I'm afraid my girlfriend would be jealous if she saw you with me right now." Wink. |
YOU TWO!!! *glomps* Quote:
Quote:
Emily smiled politely at the stranger, "Heather, it's a pleasure to meet you." Any friend of Sabels, was simple that, a friend of Sabels, and not hers... But she could be nice, and she would be nice. It was a Ball! A second passed, as Emily's mind raced through a number of scenarios in which telling this woman the title of her occupation would be a bad idea, but no, it was a Ministry event, Sabel trusted her, and therefore .. logically, she had nothing to be concerned about. No paranoia today Emily! "I'm an auror trainee.. like Sabel," she said giving her good friend a light nudge. That look on his face didn't go unnoticed, and she just hoped he wouldn't use this 'outburst' of femininity against her in future. "And how about yourself? I don't believe I've seen you around before..." Of course she WOULD have, had the woman been here, Emily was nosy, and liked to know the who's who. |

And then he left for the stage. Hecate stood in a corner watching her captain sit on the stage. She was proud of him, very proud of him. She gave him a little wave and waited for him to be done with the main event. |

Heather, Emily, Heather, Hecate! SPOILER!!: LADIES :D Good. Now that introductions were done he could....hug Emily with his free arm. Apparently. Her nudge gave him the excuse to do that. She couldn't set him on flames for it. Not here. At the ball. With her looking so spiffy and him so...uncomfortable. Plus, she wouldn't. Not for the brief, but sincere relief in his eyes that she was still okay. He hadn't seen much of her after the uprising at the ministry and it was just good to see her...still there. Drawing his eyes away and the amusement returning to his expression, Sabel withdrew his arm from Emily's shoulders, giving his own a small shrug. "I still don't know what the Wizengamot is, but we've decided that we'll make up the definition of it's existence in less formal attire. You're free to join us for that event; date still to be announced." His grin slipped to Heather before chancing a glance at Emily again. "Or a dance in the fountain barefoot to...liven up this crowd." He felt like he was back in Hogwarts again. It was fantastic. And he would probably pay for it later with plenty of reprimand. Once again his eyes skimmed the dancers, intent on keeping his word to Heather and helping her find a proper date, when they landed on Hogwarts incarnate-reprimander. He blinked, dumbfounded and stunned into silence. Hecate was here? ...Would she agree to dance in a fountain barefoot with them? |
MY two, and Drooobles in there too <3 Quote:
Quote:
Aha... the wizengamotty thingo.. Emily didn't care for it/them/the thing much, perhaps partly owing to the fact that all they seemed to do is take up space, and not really DO anything. What exactly did they do? Sit around and look pretty all day? Maybe. "I see..." she mused, feigning understanding. Fountains on the other hand, sounded like a great deal of fun, and any excuse to kick off her heels was appreciated. "Sounds like a plan to me, I really despise high heels," she said, a mischievous smile lighting up her face. Emily linked her arm through Sabels, ignoring the fact that he was still holding this other womans hand. "Sabel what are you staring..." oh... Lafay? Emily too eyed the woman who just so happened to be her favourite ex-Professor.. well with the exception of the handsome and darling Vindictus. "Professor Lafay." |

At least he'd managed to throw her off a little, though, by agreeing to dance. Her change in demeanor was rather amusing, but he held the smirk back as she made her whispered confession. "You shouldn't have asked if you didn't expect to be surprised," he said, the slightest amusement in his voice as she seemed to need another minute to gather herself. It would have been the easy decision to just keep evading the questions, but that didn't really en compass his entire nature. There was still the unpredictability there, after all. The other half of what had been part of his years at Hogwarts, that never really were forgotten. The smirk did come out as she tried to regain her confidence, though. She didn't fool him. "Certainly," he replied, glancing sideways at the light hold on his shoulder as he gently out a hand on her waist and shifted into a dnace as the song changed. This was definitely amusing. Awkward, but he'd let her keep her distance. |

Shoving THAT thought of her head she sighed and decided to just accept the moment for what it was. She took a step closer to him and relaxed for once. Listening to the music she smiled and leaned her head on his shoulder. "What were you like before the bits you don't want to talk about?" Where did that question come from? Oh well. |
Fountain Party! *glomps* SPOILER!!: Both of them "No worries. I've already promise to explain it to Sabel when we're no it such uncomfortable clothing," She said smiling. "You're free to join us if you wish." She only said it to be polite because she was really beginning to feel Emily's indifferent kind of attitude towards her. Just some small things she picked up told her that. "I agree, heels are horrible and a nice dance in the fountain would help me relax." Still the ever so kind Heather. Trying to be nice to someone who clearly wouldn't have given her a second thought if it wasn't for Sabel. She looked at the woman that seemed to have taken the attention of both of their attention. She had seen the face before and she looked very familiar. Professor Lafay. Ah yes. She worked to Hogwarts. Well, she wasn't around when she had been there but, eh. Her eyes roamed the crowd and she emitted a small sigh. She was never going to find a date. |
The Two plus more Lafay :3 SPOILER!!: Em's & Hez :3 Despite the fact that he liked Hecate and got along rather well with her, sans the accidental insult he had thrown at her the last time they had met, Sabel found himself nearly wiggling his arm free of Emily just to clasp a hand over her mouth. He would have whispered something urgently about not directing the woman's attention to them too, had he actually acted on his sudden unease. Maybe it was simply for the fact he was sure that any Professor from Hogwarts could spot mischief a mile away before it happened, and he didn't want their fun ruined. Instead, he worked on trying to get his bandaged hand into his pocket as quickly as possible. The last thing he wanted, besides their fun being spoiled, was Hecate to notice it. He'd burnt his hand in her presence before, he really didn't want her to see that it was gone and wrecked again. Though it had been partially beyond his control, he still felt fully at fault for the lapse in his defenses. A small, tighter lipped smile was spared between his two evening companions. "Seems like none of us are a fan of the formal." They could be the Three Mundane Musketeers. Not that the title sounded highly appealing, nor was it exactly accurate. He frowned a little at his internal joke and shook his head. Heather seemed a little frowny-faced herself, so he gave her a gentle poke with a finger and a hopeful smile. He didn't want to go back to being frowny-faced. Not just yet. |

One dance? Oh. Isobel pouted at him, enjoying their dance. "Only one?" She pretended to glance around, as if looking for Wesley's 'girlfriend.' "Oh....I can't see her." Hehe. |

Wes chuckled a bit as she looked around. He pretended to make eye contact with someone over Isobel's shoulder and swept her around in a circle, bringing them closer and closer to a giant, full-length mirror on the wall, spinning her around slowly so that she caught a good glance of her beautiful self. "Don't look now," Wes pulled her closer to whisper in her ear, "but I think she just saw you. She's the jealous sort, my fair lady....." But Merlin, how she was pretty. |

At the sigh, though, he glanced back at Laurie only to stiffen the slightest bit as she closed the space between them and laid her head on his shoulder. That was unexpected, and so totally not like the prickly Wizengamot prosecutor that he didn't know how to deal with it. The question was another matter, and he smiled wryly for a moment as she'd still managed to bring things around to himself. She definitely knew her job, even if she was still bizarrely anachronistic at the moment. "Not extraordinarily different. More open, I guess you'd say," he replied. He'd definitely been more willing to talk about things back before the incident. There weren't many people her eat the Ministry who would remember him then, though. Wes and Katherine, a few others. Nobody had really commented. |

She looked out at the other dancers with a small smile. "When you're a kid you make all these grand plans and fantasies as to how things will be when you grow up. So many things change to alter those. Some for the better but mostly not. I've always believed things happen for a reason but lately...I'm beginning to doubt that." For example what was the reason behind all the people she ran into that back stabbed her or led her on. No wonder she had trust issues. |

Waiit. Who was he looked at? Was he looking at anyone? Because she was pretty sure that she was Wes' only girlfriend. He would have a lot to answer for if not. Oooh. Oh. Isobel giggled, looking at their reflection. They were quite a pretty couple, if she said so herself. Not that Isobel was that vain, but it didn't stop her thinking she was pretty. And when Wes told her all the while, she did kind of start to believe it. "Ooh...I see her now..." She giggled, grinning at him. This was kind of fun actually. "She did look a bit jealous..." She mused, her eyes twinkling a little. "I better watch out for her..." |
