James smirked, "Thank-you, Cora. I'm so glad you came.." Pft! As if she would've declined. She was going to dinner with James Bond... er Parker [:/] He placed his hand on the small of her back and led her towards their table. She smiled nice.. what was that she was wearing? Mmmmmmmh.
Pulling her chair out, he let her sit before sitting down himself. It was all part of that Parker Charm ;) He winked at her before passing the menu. Now.. what to eat?
"Perhaps some wine to start?"

Following James to the table she smirked inwardly as he winked at her. "No need to thank me." duh! Like she'd say no. She would never say no to anyone as hot as James. She smiled warmly at James as he pulled out her chair for her, very gentlemen-ly like. She sat down and straightened her dress before taking the menu from him. "Thank you." she said before opening it. She looked back up as James spoke. "Mhmm. If you want." she didnt really mind.

Thank her? Oh, he hadn't been. Merely trying to remind himself of his absolutely downright shocking handsomeness. But he didn't think she'd like him that much if he told her that. "Aw, but if I don't tell you I'm pleased, how will you ever know? He was a woman's dream. Ahh, if only he could spread himself thinner? *sigh*
Pushing her chair in, he moved back to his side and sat down. It was a nice place. He smiled at her thanks and he called over the waiter to order the beverage. "How've you been then, Cora, since I last saw you?"

Glancing up as James spoke she tried to think of a reasonable answer, her mind went blank and she plainly said "I wont." with a small smile she went back to reading the menu. Uhhhh. All the foood sounded so niceeeee and she could hardly eat any of it. Stupid Sugar levels. She decided on something to eat before putting the menu to one side and looking back up at James.
How had she been since she'd last seen him ? Wasn't that like a few days ago. *Shrug* "Um. I've been Great." Total lie. "Never better. And yourself ?" So she wasn't the best lier in the world, but she wasn't gonna sit there and rant on about how her stupid boiler in her stupid dingy little flat had broke and she'd been freezing her but off.

Lexers 07-04-2010 09:18 AM

James grinned, "Exactly. So, I have to tell you." He flicked through the menu.. boring, boring, boring OOOH! Ribs. Sounded yummeh.
"Great?" He asked. She certainly didn't sound it. "That's great, I'm glad." And he was. He liked her smiling. "I've been busy, very busy. Working at the Prophet is exhausting." They served horrible coffee, the company was horrible and the work was oppressive. It was like a slave camp there.

Cora giggled. "No you dont. Cause then I get too full of myself. So its best if you just keep it to yourself." Looking back at the menu she sighed. There was SO many nice things on there but eh, she'd stick with the pasta she didnt really wanna pass out on James or something. "Yes ?" slightly unsure of what he was talking about she just smiled and nodded slightly to make him think she knew what he was talking about. "Oh right. So do you like it there ?" It seemed obvious cause he was working there, but best to ask Like she hated her dingy flat but she was still living there. Kinda the same thing no ?

Lexers 07-04-2010 09:37 AM

James smirked inwardly. Full of herself? Well he was, and it wasn't affecting him negatively. "I can't help myself. When I see you, I just have to tell you how beautiful you are." Oh, he was soooo good.
The reporter frowned, "Well.. are you sure you're okay?" 'Cos she hadn't sounded like it.
Like working there? "No, not particularly but I adore writing and .. there's not really any other respectable magazines around." The Quibbler? PFT! "But.. let's not talk about work.. it's rather depressing." What about.. family! "Do you have siblings?"

Cora bit her lip, without meaning too. Her cheeks flushed a red colour and she put her hands infront of her cheeks to cover them. "Stop itt. Your making me blush." Okay, there was no point covering her cheeks if she was gonna tell him she was blushing. Stupid Cora. She continued covering them until she felt they werent burning anymore. She reste. d her hands gently on the table and smiled at James.
Sure she was okay ? "Eh. It doesnt matter. " she really didnt wanna make James think she was a complainer, which she usually wasnt just sometimes.
"The things people do for the things they love." she said with a small smile. Depressing it was. "Yeah. I have a little brother. He's coming to stay next week." Ergh he'd surely have something to moan about when he saw her dingy little flat. Too bad he wasn't old enough to go to hogwarts."Do you ?"

James smirked. He adorrred making women feel uncomfortable. Lyric annoyed him because she was so stony, cold and boring. Cora was reacting *evil*
"Fine, I'll stop.. but it'll be hard," He joked and then laughed as her cheeks began to flush. The smile was firmly plastered on his face as she waited for her cheeks to decrease in temperature.
"Good. I was just making sure you're okay." *smirketysmirksmirk* He was sooo goood and yet so bad.
The reporter was totally taken aback by the honestly and depth of her comment. "Yeah. You're right," He replied quietly feeling like the conversation had switched to her and he didn't know how to deal with the power change.
But SIBLINGS! He could talk about that all day. Well.. he only had one.. but whatever. "She's 14, her name is Callie." He hadn't seen the Callster for a looooong time. He missed his 'sis.

Cora smirked back at James. She didn't know why but she figured she'd smirk at him because he was smirking at her. She didn't really believe him when he said it'd be hard to stop complimenting her. "Yeah... Whatever..." she answered before rolling her eyes. She returned his smile aswell. She waited for him to say something, hopefully he wouldn't ask why she was "okay" she would seem like a right moaner then. "Thank you." she said her smile growing. It was nice of him to care, or to act like he cared. She wasn't sure which one of them was right in this case but eh. She didn't know what else to say at his next comment so she didn't say anything. She sat still before glancing at the menu then gazing at James. He was sooo hot. And so niceeee. And soo.....perfect.
Callie was a pretty name ? "Callies a pretty name. Does she go to hogwarts ?"

Lexers 07-04-2010 09:43 PM

James frowned as she smirked. Was she mocking him? Perhaps she WASN'T uncomfortable.. but just.. playing him! ACK! *fuzzle* His brain was going into overdrive trying to process this. WHOAH! She was so smart. He had a new found respect for Cora Drake. He was even more convinced of this when she nonchalantly brushed off his comment with a roll of the eyes. She was ONTO him. Oh dear..
What do do now? Another compliment.. maybe not. "Don't tell me your insecure?" He murmured, raising his eyebrows. Despite his ... personality he didn't go around telling ANY woman she was pretty unless it was the coffee lady and he didn't have the right amount of change. Duhhh.

Awww. Her smile was absolutely angelic. He smiled genuinely and it looked displaced on his usually smirky expression. "My pleasure.." He breathed out. HUH? Wait.. breathed? James Parker did not.. mutter or murmur or.. BREATHE out words? What was happening to him?

She had a pweeeetty smile *daydreams*

SNAP OUT OF IT! "Er.. yep." And he definetely didn't lose track of a conversation. Not this badly, anyway. He watched her after his comment and she remained silent like she was testing him. He didn't know what to say. He wasn't a deep thinker. Kinda the opposite.

She had a pretty dress on too. Pretty name? "Yeah, you do have a pretty name," He told her with a nod. Wait.. did she just say Hogwarts? Shoooot! They were talking about his SISTER!
"Oh, right. Well, erm, Callie's been with my parents. I think she's starting next term!" Whoah! He'd forgotten she'd be in England! He could go visit Callister and perhaps embarass her heartily infront of her friends. *smirk*

Cora bit her lip as she watched James. Then he frowned. Oh no. What had she done ? Had she said something wrong ? Or done something he didn't like ? Paniccccccc. Wait, why was she panicing ? Whatever she'd said or done she'd already said it so there was no going back. Now to just figure out what she'd done and maybe apologise. She tried to think of what she'd said over the last few minutes but she was too distracted. erghh. It could wait. She'd never be able to remember what she'd said.
Did he just ask if she was insecure ? What was she supppose to say ? She couldn't say yes because that would be a total lie and as they'd experienced earlier Cora was a VERY bad lier. But then she couldnt say no because that would make her look sorta big headed, wouldn't it ? Shrug."Um....I dunnoo ?" She said her words sorta streched out and awkwardly. Maybe she should've just ignored that question, it probably wouldve been best.

Cora continued smiling as James' frown turned back into a smile. He had a wonderful smile. She nodded at his next comment, because she wasn't really sure what he was saying err yep too.

She had a pretty name ? That was nice of him, but weren't they talking about his sister ? "Thank you. But weren't we talking about Callie ?" she said with a small giggle. Maybe he meant to say Callie, shrug everyone made mistakes. "So she'll be a fourth year ?" That would be nice for her. "Is she gonna get to spend more time there than you did ?" Probably cause he didnt spend a very long time there.

This was awkward. That creeping type of awkward that sort of edged into the conversation despite everyone pushing it away. Or well. Just James. He looked away from her. Well.. now what?
He was scared she'd figure it out. Bleugh. This wasn't going to well.

Talking about Callie? Huh? He blinked out his staring daze and nodded. Oh. Yeah. So they had. What? Fourth year? He frowned counting quickly, "Uhh yeah. She will." Despite whatever he said, he genuinely liked Callie. She was too much like him not to. Sure, they fought like ALL the time about stupid things like who should go through the door first but his sister his little ickle sis and.. that was it. "Hopefully.. I wouldn't want her to move again. She can always come and stay with me.." He voiced his thoughts to her and shrugged. His parents were not very stable in terms of living arrangements.

Cora looked at the menu again, she wasn't actually reading it she was just staring at it because she didn't wanna look at James although she really didn't know why because he was hawttttt. :eyebrows: She sighed, this was like awkward and this time she couldnt make an excuse like she had to go back to work not that she wanted to...

Uh. Um. Yeah, this was seriously awkward. The blonde glanced up at the man sitting infront of her and sighed before looking down at her shoes and waiting for him to talk. "Oh thats nice then." Glancing up for a moment she moved her hair out of her face. This time she didn't look downwards but just in the other direction. She moved her hair and flicked it behind her ears because it was annoying her, she really needed to get it cut.
She smiled as he said he wanted his sister to stay with him. That was cutee. "That'd be nice if she did stay with you."

Lexers 07-10-2010 11:48 AM

James looked at her and then back at his own menu. What to do to diffuse the tension? Umm..

Oh. "So talk to me, what's your job like?" Work was always a stable topic.

James frowned at Cora. Had he said something wrong because he felt like suddenly there was this giant brick wall in between them. Er..

"Yeah. She's quite the.." How could he put it without his sister sounding like a tart. "..personality." That was a safe way to put it, yes.

As she pulled her hair back, a strand fell back out and the reporter leaned across the table and pushed it behind her ear with a small smile.
Back to California? Yeah. "It would be. I don't relaly want to her to have to move all the bloody time. It's a pain - I would know."

Chris walked into the restaurant. His mind was swirling with thoughts about the charm he was trying to create. At this point he wanted to take a break from that and just have some time to eat a well made meal. He meals enough for two and sat down. Good thing he had his parchment handy as it was always good to have around.

"Hope you have some normal paper with you." A quiet voice said to Chris.
Frida had entered the restaraunt for lunch break as well, carrying her small bag at her side and dressed in 'normal' clothes. The kind muggles would wear.
She dropped a notepad and pencil in front of Chris and remained standing. It wasn't polite to sit without being invited first.

Frida blinked when Chris seemed to have been startled by her, "I'm sorry." She said and sat down across from the man. "I didn't mean to spook you." Her eyes landed on the two plates of food in front of him. "Um, and why would you purchase two meals? Extra hungry?" Something else came to her mind, "You're not a fortune teller are you?" The information was fresh in her mind from reading her divination book over the past couple days. "And don't you worry, I can get my own food. That over there is yours." She nodded to the two plates on the table already.

Frida brought the pad and pencil closer to her, "Well..." She smiled politely to the muggle waitress that walked by and waited until she entered the next section of the restaraunt. "Muggles aren't so used to seeing rolls of parchment." Frida raised her brows and summoned a waiter to the table with a raise of her hand, "Can I have a glass of water please? No ice, and no lemon. I'll have it with a narrow straw though, not one of those large ones where it feels like I'm going to drown. And also," She looked over to a menu that was located not too far from her in the center of another table, "I'll have some coffee, decaf, with cream on the side in a small cup, and a slice of chocolate pie. Thanks."
The waiter left, looking slightly unnerved at what Frida had just asked of him. "I've never been in here before." Frida mentioned with a quick look around. "Have you?"

"I was planning on giving one of these meals to you but if you can handle getting your own meal then that is okay" Chris smiled for a second. Chris watched as the waiter served the food and then he said "Ive been here 3 or so times and i hear that the food is great there is nothing like it in england." He would have to get a copy of the menu sometime perhaps. "So tell me about yourself" he said politely.

"I'm on a diet as it is." Frida said as the waiter placed her two drinks, and slice of pie in front of her. She smiled her thanks and started to stir the cream into her coffee. "Probably can't tell from all the chocolate, but I am." Frida tapped the excess coffee off the spoon and placed it carefully on the saucer on which the cup rested.
She sipped her coffee and then proceeded on to her pie, which was about the size of her face. Not that it bothered her any.
"That better be true." Frida said in regards to the standards of the food, "Because if I don't like this stuff then I might just have to obliviate the waiter into thinking I already paid for it." Fortunately, everything tasted just great so far. She stopped when Chris asked her to tell him about herself.

'Erm, what?' Frida's hand stopped in mid-air on it's way to her mouth, and she set the fork down again. "About me?" Her stomach churned a little bit and then she said, "Um, well, I've worked at the Ministry for a few years now. Used to be in the Goblin Liaison Division, but was promoted to Obliviator Head a while back." She sat on her hands, hoping that Chris was only making friendly conversation. "I have three owls, and four cats." Frida sighed, almost dreamily when someone came to mind, but quickly said, "And some of the best friends I could ever hope for." She finally ate some more and asked, "What about you? Tell me about yourself. Are you an adventurer? Ever been to prison? That sort of thing." She chuckled a little and sipped her coffee, which was incredibly hot.

Chris noticed her reaction when he asked her to tell him about herself "I hope you dont me asking that question but its always tradition to ask this to fellow coworkers. I live in the liverpool area an only child when i was younger and i was in ravenclaw at hogwarts. Was a member of ministry security but that job only had the world cup that was of much interest now im on level 3 with my new position. Chris wondered if he should pay the tip for the waiter so she shouldnt have to. "I've been a free man all my life never been to prison or anything like that. I do love to travel ive been to the north pole before." He continued eating his muggle cheesesteak.

"Oh, no, that's all right." Frida said while giving a sigh of relief. "So you're clever then? Well, that's good. I was in Slytherin while I was at school." She stopped, realizing that she hadn't whispered the name, "I really did like that club at school." Her voice was louder now. "Got to learn a lot about...snakes, and...other reptiles." Frida could feel herself starting to laugh, but she stifled it rather quickly. She wasn't a very good liar, but what had happened just now amused her.
"I've never been to the North Pole. Been to Russia, Germany, Italy when I was very young, New Zealand, and down south in the States." Frida sipped her water this time, glad that the straw was narrow like she had asked for. "It's good that you haven't been to prison. I wouldn't imagine it to be much fun there."

"Yes you are very right about that" Chris said to her. 'Ravenclaw is just composed of a lot of good students at least when i was there i will not forget some of the years i was there. He looked at her with big eyes a trait of his. "Did you get any good recognition in school"

Frida sipped some more coffee and nodded, "Yes. I was captain of the Slytherin quidditch team the last three years. Managed to win the last two." She took another sip, "I had good grades in school in nearly every subject, except for ancient runes and arithmancy, I never did like them very much."
She looked out the window and sighed, it had started to drizzle a tiny bit. "During some of he summer months I would travel to Colorado in the States. I attended a Youth Dueling Academy there. It was such a wonderful experience." Frida stared down at her now empty plate, then looked back up to Chris, "And what about you? Any interesting stories about school, or first careers?"
