James smirked, "Thank-you, Cora. I'm so glad you came.." Pft! As if she would've declined. She was going to dinner with James Bond... er Parker [:/] He placed his hand on the small of her back and led her towards their table. She smiled nice.. what was that she was wearing? Mmmmmmmh. Pulling her chair out, he let her sit before sitting down himself. It was all part of that Parker Charm ;) He winked at her before passing the menu. Now.. what to eat? "Perhaps some wine to start?" |

Pushing her chair in, he moved back to his side and sat down. It was a nice place. He smiled at her thanks and he called over the waiter to order the beverage. "How've you been then, Cora, since I last saw you?" |
Quote:
How had she been since she'd last seen him ? Wasn't that like a few days ago. *Shrug* "Um. I've been Great." Total lie. "Never better. And yourself ?" So she wasn't the best lier in the world, but she wasn't gonna sit there and rant on about how her stupid boiler in her stupid dingy little flat had broke and she'd been freezing her but off. |
James grinned, "Exactly. So, I have to tell you." He flicked through the menu.. boring, boring, boring OOOH! Ribs. Sounded yummeh. "Great?" He asked. She certainly didn't sound it. "That's great, I'm glad." And he was. He liked her smiling. "I've been busy, very busy. Working at the Prophet is exhausting." They served horrible coffee, the company was horrible and the work was oppressive. It was like a slave camp there. |

James smirked inwardly. Full of herself? Well he was, and it wasn't affecting him negatively. "I can't help myself. When I see you, I just have to tell you how beautiful you are." Oh, he was soooo good. The reporter frowned, "Well.. are you sure you're okay?" 'Cos she hadn't sounded like it. Like working there? "No, not particularly but I adore writing and .. there's not really any other respectable magazines around." The Quibbler? PFT! "But.. let's not talk about work.. it's rather depressing." What about.. family! "Do you have siblings?" |
Quote:
Sure she was okay ? "Eh. It doesnt matter. " she really didnt wanna make James think she was a complainer, which she usually wasnt just sometimes. "The things people do for the things they love." she said with a small smile. Depressing it was. "Yeah. I have a little brother. He's coming to stay next week." Ergh he'd surely have something to moan about when he saw her dingy little flat. Too bad he wasn't old enough to go to hogwarts."Do you ?" |
Quote:
"Fine, I'll stop.. but it'll be hard," He joked and then laughed as her cheeks began to flush. The smile was firmly plastered on his face as she waited for her cheeks to decrease in temperature. "Good. I was just making sure you're okay." *smirketysmirksmirk* He was sooo goood The reporter was totally taken aback by the honestly and depth of her comment. "Yeah. You're right," He replied quietly feeling like the conversation had switched to her and he didn't know how to deal with the power change. But SIBLINGS! He could talk about that all day. Well.. he only had one.. but whatever. "She's 14, her name is Callie." He hadn't seen the Callster for a looooong time. He missed his 'sis. |
Quote:
Callie was a pretty name ? "Callies a pretty name. Does she go to hogwarts ?" |
James frowned as she smirked. Was she mocking him? Perhaps she WASN'T uncomfortable.. but just.. playing him! ACK! *fuzzle* His brain was going into overdrive trying to process this. WHOAH! She was so smart. He had a new found respect for Cora Drake. He was even more convinced of this when she nonchalantly brushed off his comment with a roll of the eyes. She was ONTO him. Oh dear.. What do do now? Another compliment.. maybe not. "Don't tell me your insecure?" He murmured, raising his eyebrows. Despite his ... personality he didn't go around telling ANY woman she was pretty Awww. Her smile was absolutely angelic. He smiled genuinely and it looked displaced on his usually smirky expression. "My pleasure.." He breathed out. HUH? Wait.. breathed? James Parker did not.. mutter or murmur or.. BREATHE out words? What was happening to him? She had a pweeeetty smile *daydreams* SNAP OUT OF IT! "Er.. yep." And he definetely didn't lose track of a conversation. Not this badly, anyway. He watched her after his comment and she remained silent like she was testing him. He didn't know what to say. He wasn't a deep thinker. Kinda the opposite. She had a pretty dress on too. Pretty name? "Yeah, you do have a pretty name," He told her with a nod. Wait.. did she just say Hogwarts? Shoooot! They were talking about his SISTER! "Oh, right. Well, erm, Callie's been with my parents. I think she's starting next term!" Whoah! He'd forgotten she'd be in England! He could go visit Callister and perhaps embarass her heartily infront of her friends. *smirk* |

Did he just ask if she was insecure ? What was she supppose to say ? She couldn't say yes because that would be a total lie and as they'd experienced earlier Cora was a VERY bad lier. But then she couldnt say no because that would make her look sorta big headed, wouldn't it ? Shrug."Um....I dunnoo ?" She said her words sorta streched out and awkwardly. Maybe she should've just ignored that question, it probably wouldve been best. Cora continued smiling as James' frown turned back into a smile. He had a wonderful smile. She nodded at his next comment, because she wasn't really sure what he was saying err yep too. She had a pretty name ? That was nice of him, but weren't they talking about his sister ? "Thank you. But weren't we talking about Callie ?" she said with a small giggle. Maybe he meant to say Callie, shrug everyone made mistakes. "So she'll be a fourth year ?" That would be nice for her. "Is she gonna get to spend more time there than you did ?" Probably cause he didnt spend a very long time there. |
Quote:
He was scared she'd figure it out. Bleugh. This wasn't going to well. Talking about Callie? Huh? He blinked out his staring daze and nodded. Oh. Yeah. So they had. What? Fourth year? He frowned counting quickly, "Uhh yeah. She will." Despite whatever he said, he genuinely liked Callie. She was too much like him not to. Sure, they fought like ALL the time about stupid things like who should go through the door first but his sister his little ickle sis and.. that was it. "Hopefully.. I wouldn't want her to move again. She can always come and stay with me.." He voiced his thoughts to her and shrugged. His parents were not very stable in terms of living arrangements. |

Uh. Um. Yeah, this was seriously awkward. The blonde glanced up at the man sitting infront of her and sighed before looking down at her shoes and waiting for him to talk. "Oh thats nice then." Glancing up for a moment she moved her hair out of her face. This time she didn't look downwards but just in the other direction. She moved her hair and flicked it behind her ears because it was annoying her, she really needed to get it cut. She smiled as he said he wanted his sister to stay with him. That was cutee. "That'd be nice if she did stay with you." |
James looked at her and then back at his own menu. What to do to diffuse the tension? Umm.. Oh. "So talk to me, what's your job like?" Work was always a stable topic. James frowned at Cora. Had he said something wrong because he felt like suddenly there was this giant brick wall in between them. Er.. "Yeah. She's quite the.." How could he put it without his sister sounding like a tart. "..personality." That was a safe way to put it, yes. As she pulled her hair back, a strand fell back out and the reporter leaned across the table and pushed it behind her ear with a small smile. Back to California? Yeah. "It would be. I don't relaly want to her to have to move all the bloody time. It's a pain - I would know." |
Chris walked into the restaurant. His mind was swirling with thoughts about the charm he was trying to create. At this point he wanted to take a break from that and just have some time to eat a well made meal. He meals enough for two and sat down. Good thing he had his parchment handy as it was always good to have around. |

Frida had entered the restaraunt for lunch break as well, carrying her small bag at her side and dressed in 'normal' clothes. The kind muggles would wear. She dropped a notepad and pencil in front of Chris and remained standing. It wasn't polite to sit without being invited first. |

Frida brought the pad and pencil closer to her, "Well..." She smiled politely to the muggle waitress that walked by and waited until she entered the next section of the restaraunt. "Muggles aren't so used to seeing rolls of parchment." Frida raised her brows and summoned a waiter to the table with a raise of her hand, "Can I have a glass of water please? No ice, and no lemon. I'll have it with a narrow straw though, not one of those large ones where it feels like I'm going to drown. And also," She looked over to a menu that was located not too far from her in the center of another table, "I'll have some coffee, decaf, with cream on the side in a small cup, and a slice of chocolate pie. Thanks." The waiter left, looking slightly unnerved at what Frida had just asked of him. "I've never been in here before." Frida mentioned with a quick look around. "Have you?" |

She sipped her coffee and then proceeded on to her pie, which was about the size of her face. Not that it bothered her any. "That better be true." Frida said in regards to the standards of the food, "Because if I don't like this stuff then I might just have to obliviate the waiter into thinking I already paid for it." Fortunately, everything tasted just great so far. She stopped when Chris asked her to tell him about herself. 'Erm, what?' Frida's hand stopped in mid-air on it's way to her mouth, and she set the fork down again. "About me?" Her stomach churned a little bit and then she said, "Um, well, I've worked at the Ministry for a few years now. Used to be in the Goblin Liaison Division, but was promoted to Obliviator Head a while back." She sat on her hands, hoping that Chris was only making friendly conversation. "I have three owls, and four cats." Frida sighed, almost dreamily when someone came to mind, but quickly said, "And some of the best friends I could ever hope for." She finally ate some more and asked, "What about you? Tell me about yourself. Are you an adventurer? Ever been to prison? That sort of thing." She chuckled a little and sipped her coffee, which was incredibly hot. |

"I've never been to the North Pole. Been to Russia, Germany, Italy when I was very young, New Zealand, and down south in the States." Frida sipped her water this time, glad that the straw was narrow like she had asked for. "It's good that you haven't been to prison. I wouldn't imagine it to be much fun there." |

She looked out the window and sighed, it had started to drizzle a tiny bit. "During some of he summer months I would travel to Colorado in the States. I attended a Youth Dueling Academy there. It was such a wonderful experience." Frida stared down at her now empty plate, then looked back up to Chris, "And what about you? Any interesting stories about school, or first careers?" |
