"Curiosity killed the cat yes?" she finished off the question, even if it was rhetorical and wasn't meant for answering. "But do you honestly believe that is true? A little curiosity can't be so bad, especially if its intended to be harmless" she stated, defending her position. The creatures head seemed to have an answer to everything, mainly because she didn't want to get caught out. She honestly believed she wasn't doing anything at all, unwelcome.
"If you feel that would be more appropriate" she stated looking around at the other employees in the Department, they didn't seem to be too nosey right now, but she would go if he wanted her too.
"You know what they say." Ikenna literally shrugged off the questions of the Head of Magical Creatures, content not to give her an answer at all. He said nothing further but started toward his office since he no longer had Miss Radley's eye contact.
He reached the door to his office and waited for her to catch up, casting one last look toward his assembled employees and Miss Hawthorne in particular. "I'll only be a moment."
Hopefully they would do some discussing of Ministry Security in his absence.

As the two women entered the office, Ikenna's gaze left his employees and tracked their entrance instead. It appeared Miss Sullivan thought her work was done for the day.... or at least she thought she had something more important to do at her desk than report back to Ikenna. Hmm. He decided he would just let her slide for now, mainly because he had a new person to address.
"Miss Radley." Gevrik stepped forward and bowed his head slightly before straightening up and making eye contact with the other department head. He waited a moment before speaking again and when he did, his tone was light and casual.
"Actually I believe it is you who wanted to see me. I can at least admit to being curious as to why you seemed to be aimlessly wandering Level Eight but no, Miss Radley, I did not particularly want to see you."
She was easy on the eyes, one might say, but Ikenna was not one to say such things aloud. He simply wanted to know the purpose of her 'wandering.'

Olivia nodded her head at his request. She was capable of that, despite it not technically being her division. "Of course, sir. I was due to repair some of the tiles today anyway, if you'll allow me. I can check the protection before hand." He was going to let her do that part of her job, right? I mean, yes he'd said maintenance was on the backburner, but surely if something was broken it was easier to get through, or overcome? .... or something.
Just as she finished speaking the door opened, causing Olivia to turn her head curiously. Jamie had not long gone out, and now she was back - with the person she'd been sent to get. Eyeing her up and down, she gave the woman a smile and a nod of greeting. Did not speak to her, however, the Head was there to see Mr Gevrik, so it was probably best not to interfere.
But she did notice something about Jamie....
....She had ignored them when she came back.
"Would you excuse me for one second, Mr Gevrik?" Olivia asked, tilting her head in the direction of her worker. "I want to check on her." Walking over to Jamie's desk, she poked her head over the top of it. "Are you alright? We all really should be paying attention to the new Head, Jamie. Work will have to wait for a bit," she smiled, eyeing the papers the woman had on her desk. "Come on."
Jamie - once sat down - pulled a sheet of paper towards her. Best get it all sorted now then later when she probably didn't have time. Sigh. She payed no attention to what was happening between both of the deapartment heads. Really wasn't her place to easedrop.
Jamie really didn't know what to think about the new department head, she knew he was nice and polite. But she just found it hard to warm to him for some reason. Maybe in a little while she might, but now she didn't - she found him kinda scary. Though she wouldn't say. It came to a surprise when Olivia popped her head over her cubical to address her. She looked up and listened. She thought she had done when she had brought the women through. Obviously not.
Sigh.
Pushing the paper's away from her she stood up and turned back to the middle of the room where the two department head's and the other quite workers were stood. Jamie turned to address Olivia. "Sorry, i just thought i should get some of my work finished while i could." She said smiling slightly.

Lucy Parrish wasn't sure weither she actually liked her new boss.
She certanly preferred Mr. Lee, he was kind and gentle. This fellow was just...down to buisness. She mentally cringed and when he left she turned and wandered over to Jamie and Olivia.
When she arrived she gave them a warm, awkward smile and a curt nod. "Hey guys,"
"Hey, so, what will we do about the Mainteance?" She said awkwardly.
Olivia stood with one ear to the conversation, and the other on Jamie. She didn't really want to be nosey, but you couldn't really help but overhear a little of it. But then again, she didn't want to be the cat that curiosity killed. Adjusting her features into a neutral expression, she nodded when Mr Gevrik said he'd be a moment. "Yes, sir," she smiled.
And back to Jamie.
"I know, and that's very good of you. But perhaps not in the middle of a meeting next time, eh?" Olivia grinned and patted Jamie on the shoulder. She admired her want to work, but it was best not to upset the new guy on his first day. "I suppose we should get some talking done."He might expect it.
Olivia was just about to address the assembled group when Lucy came over. She shrugged and sighed at the woman's question. "We concentrate on security first and foremost. Any maintenance that is an emergency will obviously have to be done, but you heard Mr Gevrik - he wants us on this." Smiling, she walked to the centre of the room and looked around at everyone. "Okayy guys. Seeing as we have a new objective, maybe we should start by making a list of the areas Mr Gevrik might want us to concentrate on. Jaxton..." she turned to address the most senior member of the security team. "Do you have any suggestions?"
Jamie shrugged her shoulders and pulled away from her desk. What better to be done then join in? Maybe she'll make some friends. No matter how awkward it all is. Sighh. Stacking her pile of paperwork on her desk and pushed past Olivia with a 'excuse me' and found a more better sitting place to address the group more. To see them all better.
Jamie registered what Olivia said and sorted it for future refrence, but now they was being asked to give idea's on area's that need to be checked. Hmm. She really didn't know, she herself hadn't been there long enough to really say she knew where the suggest. Instead Jamie decided to sit with the others and keep silent.

She rubbed her chin, a dent forming between her brows.
Lucy moved closer to Jamie. "I have no clue what to say." She murmured to Jamie. The brunette felt stupid. She pulled out her hand and muttered, "Accio parchment, quill and ink," The parchment, eagle feather quill and vanilla scented ink whizzed through the air and hovered next to Lucy's shoulder. Lucy sat down at the table and wrote at the top.

She felt herself warming to the new Head. It was his first day. She could remember her own first day. She had almost cried. Of course, this fella couldn't cry. She almost giggled at the thought. Lucy pulled off her coat to relieve her midnight blue Ministry robes.
Olivia shifted to the side as Jamie pushed past her. Lovely, just what she wanted - to upset her workers. At least it seemed that she had, making her look down at her hands and take a deep breath. She'd ask later. Now = work. Noting the fact that Lucy had sat down with parchment and quill ready to take notes, Olivia nodded at her and scanned the faces of the people in the room.
Anyone? Anything at all? They all seemed so quiet. Surely the security crew would have some ideas...Or maybe they were just not used to taking orders from Mr Gevrik - and her. "Alrighty, maybe I can come up with the first suggestion then." Seemed like she'd have to. The proverbial cat had got their tongues. "We have the floos, atrium, main entrance and fountain down, yes?" She looked across at Lucy and smiled. "The next most important one, I suppose, would be the Minister's office and her entire level." Being the head honcho, she had to be protected from everything.
Smiling at them all, she hoped it would kick start the discussion.

Lucy wrote down the places. "If we talk other magical places, we should boost secruity in Diagon Alley. You know. Just in case. Things have been kinda weird. People have been acting...strange." She chewed her lip. "Maybe, and I know there is already tight security around them but the Department of Mysteries and the Courtrooms." A little dent formed between her eyebrows.
Jamie listened to the conversation happened around her, she really didn't know what to say though. All the place's she would have choose to say had already been chosen. Chewing her bottom lip she seated herself on a lone chair in the middle of the room.
Think.
She told herself as she bent her head to think of something else.

Daria was stumped. She'd been sitting there listening to all of the conversation flowing arounder her, and hadn't had a single idea to contribute. She wracked her brains trying to come up with an area of the magical world that her peers hadn't already suggested. Deciding to go for broke, Daria stepped forward and said: "How about Hogwarts...? I mean, I know we, I mean the Ministry, has that certain "unwritten" rule about interfering in Hogwarts business, but, well, what harm would be done if a couple of us were integrated into the Hogwart population? I mean, some of us are rather young looking... we could go in and no one would be the wiser..."
Daria's voice softly faded, as she watched many pairs of eyes stare at her rather blankly. Merlin's beard had she ever stepped into a huge pile of thestral dung this time! "Don't mind me," Daria sputtered, "I think I'll just get back to my work. It really has been piling up!" Daria quickly disappeared behind the wall of her cubicle.

The Ghost
Ikenna returned from his office and casually stepped back toward the group of employees, his hands loosely clasped behind his back. He cleared his throat gently and nodded around at them all, making eye contact here and there.
"Any ideas, thus far?" He wasn't too concerned if they did or did not make any progress in his absence. He had plenty of plans and small assignments for the employees.
But it was always best to at least feign interest and concern in his underlings. He had learned a few tips from the D'Isignys, masters of conversation, and so the Head of Security tried to maintain a calm, relaxed stance as he waited for someone to speak up.

Olivia nodded at all the suggestions coming forward. At least they were starting to say something. Maybe the appearance of Mr Gevrik and his more...strict tone had stunned them into silence?
Diagon Alley, strange? Huh. Well she had missed that one, obviously. But that could have been due to the fact she didn't really shop there very often. For shame. "Well yes, we could list that one. I'm not sure if Mr Gevrik meant outside of this building, but...Hogwarts?" Olivia turned her head to face Daria as she mentioned it, stopping midway through her sentence. There was a new one. Umm, hmmm. "I'm fairly certain they have their own security set up," she stuttered in reply. "But we could...mention it, yes. Courtrooms and Department of Mysteries definitely, though," Olivia smiled at Lucy. As Daria looked flustered and went back to her desk, Olivia felt a bit bad for poo pooing her idea slightly. It was a good one, just how practical would it be? "Daria, please come back to the meeting. We need all the ideas we can get," she called out, over the top of the cubicle wall.
And then the big boss man returned, causing Olivia to shuffle her feet and ring her hands together at his question. "Yes, sir. Lucy has very kindly made a list of our ideas," she nodded, making her way to her employee and stretching out a hand. "May I?" she asked, gently taking the paper from the woman. "Thank you. This is what we have so far..." And she proceeded to read out the nicely written list to Mr Gevrik.

"The last two are purely....bigger picture ideas, really," Olivia coughed, folding the parchment back up and chewing her lip. What would he think?
Wyatt was doing paperwork yet he heard everything that was going on around him. His cubicle was almost next to Ms. Hawthorne. Wyatt quickly looked up from what he was doing and noticed a list of where security in the Ministry needed to be tightened. Wyatt saw the last two items on the list and then got up and said "The last two items on this are bigger pictures yes. We can accomplish them by the help of the people that work there. Take Hogwarts for instance, they put up protective spells and counter measures all the time during the school year. But if we were to intervene at what they are doing. I say we should present them with our ideas and see if they would gladly let us and see if they would want to help us incase we missed anything." Wyatt paused and looked over at the Department head. "Wyatt Potter, Ministry Security." And he stuck out his hand.
Jamie had been quite, sitting against a wodden desk. She hadn't spoken up for a while due to the fact she really didn't know what to say. Jamie cursed herself for not thinking up some of the ideas on the list.
Sigh.
But she had to admit - sitting there - that some of the ideas were really good, even the point the guy. Wyatt Potter right? had said, she smiled in her direction.

Daria thought about what she had heard Olivia say. She knew the woman was just trying to make her feel better, allow her to feel as though she was a part of the group at large. So, not wanting to segregate herself even more from her fellow workers, Daria pulled back her shoulders, held her head high, and returned to the meeting. She'd known the Hogwart's idea had been far-fetched, had even known it would be put to the side, but she had needed something to contribute.
As she reached the group, she smiled meekly and nodded to Olivia and Wyatt. They had, afterall, tried to support her rather flimsy idea. Daria then turned and looked at Mr. Gevrik. Before her, she saw a man of great wisdom, a man who got down to business, a man who knew what he was doing. Daria wondered what his tactics were. She could tell by the certain glint in his eyes and slight wrinkles around his mouth that he was enjoying the meeting immensely. She wondered why he'd even bothered to ask for input. For standing before her, was a man with all of the answers.
So this was his department, where his workers would (and should) be reporting to so that he could dole out assignments and tasks as he saw fit. Hmm. This was it. He noted the door to what would soon be his office but did not enter just yet. The glass door there was vaguely interesting but not enough to distract The Ghost from his priorities.
Ikenna Gevrik did his usual poking around the room and cubicles, pleased at the organisation of it all but not at all satisfied with the lack of employees. They had lost basically all of their leaders, this he knew, but that was no excuse to be slacking off. Not now that he was in charge and not ever.
The dark, shady man finished snooping about the basic layout of the work area and came to a stop near one of the division head desks at the back of the room. He rested one arm on the top of the cubicle wall and spared a glance at his unique, thick, magical watch.
And here we go.

Joseph strolled down the hallway and bumped into a man a lot taller than him. "Hullo," He said, picking up one of his overloaded binders. "Sorry about that."
A flash of purple zoomed into the work area, flying over heads and cubicle walls and coming to a hault in the center of the room. What news had this official looking memo brought for the Ministery workers?
