The Office for Magical Equipment Control Division head: Rebecca Todd (Becky) |
Chiara walked into the office and sat at her desk, she was rather proud of having made the Magical Equipment Control team. Mr. Wordsmith seemed to be an attentive boss, having sent her a note as a welcome to the ministry. She placed her things on her desk, the one with the plaque 'Chiara Quorra' hovering in front of it, and set out to the filing cabinet to report her biographical information. |
Lola walked into the office. Normally she would be shy, but today she was proud of her new robes. Emerald green made her eyes pop. She quickly found her desk and set up her things. The leather chair was unusually comfortable for Ministry furniture. Lola's mind wandered to thought of magically enhanced chairs. |
Chiara walked into the office and saw a woman looking around. "You must be Miss Adams." She smiled at the woman and extended her hand, "Chiara Quorra, we'll be working together in this office." She sat at her desk and swiveled the chair in the other woman's direction. "So, where were you before the ministry?" she asked. |
Lola looked up at hearing her name. At least, she thought it was her name. No one had ever called her Miss Adams. She actually looked around to see if this lady was talking to someone else. "Oh, hi!" Lola replied. "Call me Lola. I thought I would end up alone here." She pushed her short hair out of her eyes. I should get that cut, she thought. "I actually worked at the ministry before, I was with the Accidental Magic Reversal Squad, but I wanted to get into the law enforcement. I was sort of hoping for something a big more exciting." She tried to hide her disappointment at her current position. She smiled, a little forced. "What about you, what've you been doing before this?" Lola twiddled her quill, a nervous habit developed at Hogwarts. |

Lola reclined back in her chair. She was finally getting comfortable in her surroundings. She raised her eyebrows when she heard Chiara recieved a muggle education. "Muggle schooling, huh. So you're mum's a muggle then? Learn anything useful there?" Lola strained her brain thinking about possible applications of such an education. She took off her red rimmed glasses and began to wipe them clean. |
Quote:
"Useful... Useful..." she thought "Not really... they have this subject called Applied Physics... that was interesting... I guess it's useful if your an obliviator, or an auror. To blend in with the muggles you know... " |
Lola politely nodded. Her mind wandered as it often does to somewhere else. She closed her eyes and imagined she were on a beach, in the hot sun. "That would be nice," she murmured to herself. She dragged her mind back to reality. "Where is everyone?" Lola asked aloud. She knew this wasn't a high priority office, but to be ignored altogether? She frowned. "I think I'm heading to the break room, nothing's going on here. Let me know if someone else shows up, OK Chiara?" Lola replied, slightly annoyed with the lack of work to do. |
Syd wandered past the Magical Equipment Control room and hear voices chatting inside. He stopped and peered in, seeing none of the new cauldrons out and being inspected. His rather strong aura made it's way into the room, making things seem a bit more heavy... "Morning ladies," he said, stepping inside. "I see Miss O'Connor's been a tad too busy to come in and see you just yet. No matter. Syd Wordsmith, you're department head, shall get you both set up." He walked in and opened up a box by the door. Inside was good sized, silver colored cauldron that sparkled with newness. It didn't really look like any of the cauldrons from the shops. It was rather... muggleish. "I..." he said, hauling the cauldron over between the two ladies. "Need you both to take a look at this here cauldron. New model. They're experimentin' with stainless steel it seems. Muggle invention. Doesn't corrode and heats up faster." Syd picked up a form from one of the empty desks in the room and set it on Chiara's desk. "Just make up a few potions, jot down some notes, rate the thing, and describe any flaws," he said, putting his hands in his pockets. |
Chiara rolled her eyes inwardly as he placed it on her desk... Why MY desk! she thought. She flashed him a sweet smile. "Of course Mr. Wordsmith," she said eagerly, "We are here to please... aren't we Lola?" She pulled a quill and placed it on the parchment. She approached the cauldron and stated out loud, "Chiara Quorra. March 12th 2062. Stainless steel cauldron testing." The quill began transcribing what she was saying. |
Lola was just about to get up when Mr. Wordsmith walked in and left then the strange looking cauldron. "We'll get right to it, sir," Lola reaffirmed. She got up and headed over to the cauldron. So we just have to break the thing, she thought to herself. She picked it up. "Very sturdy," she noted, watching the quill write her words. She tapped it. "Yes, very, very solid. Couldn't imagine a student being able to carry this to Potions, though. Probably meant for potion development." She was fairly talented at potions and began to think about a few very quick, but intense potions. Needing to check their supplies, Lola strolled over to a cabinet with many potion-making supplies. Lola's eyes darted over the plentiful ingredients. Not for nothing, but she could produce some potent potions with these supplies. "Shrivelfig!" Lola squealed. She remembered a particularly memorable potions lesson in which she made a very effective shrinking solution. "Let's make a shrinking potion. Fairly simple, but a good starting point." She grabbed a rather ragged potions book from the cupboard and dropped it on her desk. Skimming through the pages, looking for the instructions, she asked Chiara, "Sound good?" |
"Sounds good to me." Chiara wasn't the best at potions... spells on the other hand she was great as. "Do you want to pick up the ingredients while I try to assess pros and cons?" She asked. |
Lola shrugged. "Alright, I'm not a big fan of clerical stuff anyway." She got up and ran her finger down the ingredients list. Pointing her wand at the open cabinet, she quickly said, "Accio daisy roots.Accio shrivelfig. Accio caterpillars. Accio rat spleen. Accio leech juice." With each spell, a different object zoomed across the room and came to a rest on her desk. Lola let her excitment get to her, and as a result some of the zooming ingredients smashed others in front of them in the cabinet. Lola turned a bright rose. "Oh! I'm so sorry," she apologized to Chiara. "Reparo, reparo, reparo," she spit out, and each broken jar magically fixed itself, contents in tact. Having learned her lesson, she walked over and grabbed three knives from another cabinet. She charmed them to chop daisy roots, skin shrivelfigs, and slice caterpillars. Over the loud clacking of knives on cutting boards, Lola raised her voice. "So, we're basically playing around all day! Not too bad a job, right?" She wasn't sure if her attempt at small talk was effective. She went back to carefully reading the instructions in the book. |
Erin O'connor walked into the office. "I do apologize for my tardiness, my day has been extremely busy." She smiled. |

Erin smiled. "Thank you very much Miss Quorra. I do believe I should introduce myself. I am Erin O'Connor, your Division head." She smiled. |

"No problem Miss Quorra I like that you want to dive right in, it makes a great impression. Why don't you show me what you are working on?" Erin asked. |
Lola looked up as the women entered the room. She apparently was their Division head. Putting on her best impression, Lola walked over and held out her hand. "I'm Lola Adams, it's nice to meet you ma'am. We're just testing out this new cauldron that Mr. Wordsmith dropped off. It's made of this muggle metal mixture. Stained Steel, right Chiara?" Lola walked over, her high heels clacking with each step. She waved her wand and the knives fell with a metallic clank onto her desk. She held up the board with the daisy roots. It was very important they be even. Realizing she never finished explaining what she was doing, Lola addressed her boss. "I suggested making a simple potion first, just to see how quickly it heats up and how it handles normal things. I'm preparing a simple shrinking solution." She heated the cauldron and filled it with water and dropped in the ingredients, carefully making sure the potion was turning the proper colors. "Potion seems to be progressing faster than usual," Lola noted aloud, watching Chiara's quill jot down the remarks. After some period of time, though much shorter than usual for this potion, it was a bright green. To the average muggle, this would seem dangerous, but to a wizard, it's color meant it was prepared correctly. "Now, to test it!" She took a tiny dropper and filled it with the liquid. She grabbed a spider from a jar and placed it on her desk. She dropped a little on her desk, and watched as the spider walked over it, presumably somehow drinking it. Then, suddenly it began to get smaller and smaller, until it was in an egg. "That happened much faster than usual. Interesting. I wonder if this metal has some magical properties and the muggles don't know it." She walked over to another cabinet labeled 'antidotes', and found a small vial labeled 'Reversing Shrinking Solution'. She took another dropper and dropped some on the egg, and watched the spider grow up, back to normal. She picked it up and put it back in the jar. She waved her wand and the contents of the cauldron vanished. She looked at her desk, frowning at the mess left behind. "Scourgify!, she loudly said, and her wooden desk sparkled with cleanliness. "OK, well that was fun! Ms. O'Connor, do you have any suggestions for what to try next?" Lola politely inquired. She stood straighter than normal and checked to see if her hair was in place. Making a good impression was very important to her. |
Erin Smiled. "I think the phrase would be stainless Steel." She leaned over to watch the potion in action and then suggested. "Try a magical cleaning solution." |
Chiara nodded. She turned around and went to get the ingredients. She came back and started working on the measurements. "So, I was thinking... has anyone ever thought of making a glass cauldron. I know what you are going to say... glass can't be heated safely... but muggles have invented this wonderful type of glass called Pyrex." She suggested. |
"That would have to be thoroughly tested, howver I am not sure that it would be good for families with young children." Erin replied, "Little hands are apt to touch and get burned." |
"Oh, but Pyrex glass would not conduct the heat... especially not like stainless steel. If we are talking about child safety, well, steel is a high heat conductor, but Pyrex if fairly safe." She said proudly. |
Lola sat back as Chiara prepared some of the ingredients. She couldn't help but be amused by the idea of a glass cauldron. She thought about responding to the idea of using muggle glass, but decided against it. Her boss was in the room, after all. She got up and decided to pick up the cauldron to see how it handled magical contents. "Ouch!" she screamed as her left-hand fingertips touched the metal cauldron. She quickly grabbed a cup from her desk and pointed her wand into the cup. "Aguamenti" she said, and a stream of water flowed out of her wand. She dipped her stinging fingertips into the cup. "It certainly stays hot, longer. Maybe it's the magical flames to heat the cauldron. Muggle creations aren't meant for the wizarding world," Lola said not intending to disparage muggle creations. "I'm sure this stainless steel has its benefits in... What do muggles use it for? Let's make sure the cauldrons don't superheat in the next test." Lola took her fingers out and they felt better. She sat down in her chair and closed her eyes, trying to relax for a bit. |
"Lola, why don't you take a little break, go grab a cup of coffee or some tea." Erin smiled. "Chiara, tell me more about this Pyrex, How is it not like regular glass exactly?" |
Lola sat up straight in her chair and stood up. She wanted to help, but apparently her thoughts on Pyrex sent the wrong message to her Division head. "I'll be back in a few, then." she quickly strolled out of the room. |
Chiara had managed to alianate her coworker. No matter, she'd smile through it. "Oh, Pyrex is a brand name for glassware, introduced by the Corning company. Originally, "Pyrex" was made from thermal shock resistant borosilicate glass." She took her potion stirrer and cleaned it with a clean cloth. "Since 1998, Pyrex branded kitchen glassware has been made of soda-lime glass. However, Pyrex brand laboratory glassware is still made of borosilicate glass. I would think this could be used to make cauldrons." She smiled as she stirred the ingredients the required 12 times. "Regular glass, as you know, cannot be heated." |
Erin smiled. "That sounds good, as soon as you can I would like a report on my desk showing the pros and cons of the usage of Pyrex for Cauldrons." Erin replied. |
Orbit walked into the office with a very calm attitude, although he was quite jumpy inside. He was a fresh graduate from Hogwarts and wished to prove himself to his maximum capability and make it to the auror division as soon as possible. Looking around at the others within the Department, he guessed that he might have been the youngest there. He walked over to Mr.Wordsmith desk. "Good morning sir. I'm Orbit Keith Winnfield", he said smiling with confidence and holding out his hand, hoping that his gesture wasn't too pompous for the occasion. |
"Good Morning Mr. Winnifield, I am Erin O'connor your Division Head." Erin introduced herself to the young man |
Lola walked back in, carrying a hot cup of coffee. She immediately noticed the young man. Lola walked over to her new coworker. She shook her short hair into place and held out her hand. "I'm Lola Adams," she said cheerily. |

What? No Coffee for me? That wasn't nice... she MUST have alianated her new co-worker. |
Erion smiled. "The report is written proof to be submitted to the Minister Himself, to get the new cauldron production approved |

"Hi, pleasure to meet you", he replied, shaking hands with each of them in turn."You can call me Keith." His eyes darted quickly around the office and he turned to Mr. O' Connor. "I guess I'll be taking my assignments from you then", he said."Pleasure to meet you, ma'am. Where do I take my seat?" |
Lola noticed Chiara eying her coffee. "It's not good," she commented. "The coffee. Too bitter. There's some in the break room, if you still want some." She adjusted her bright violet robes so they flowed nicely. She looked at Keith. "So, you look fresh out of school. You went to Hogwarts?" she queried. She sat back down at her desk and began arranging her quills. She looked around the room. She hadn't had time to realize how small it was. Now with four people in the room, and a few empty desks, she felt crowded. |
"We have no assigned seating, that is for you all to work out." Erin smiled, "I'm sorry to say hello and Run, but your co workers can fill you in on what to do. Meanwhile, I have to run and check on my other three teams." |
After her superior exited the room, Lola got to her feet. She walked over to the cauldron they were testing. "So we're making a cleaning solution, right?" Lola asked aloud. She pulled her wand out of her robes and set it next to the cauldron. She glanced over to the ingredients cabinets. How do you make that, again? she thought to herself. "You think a cleaning solution could destroy this cauldron?" she asked her coworkers. "It's too safe. I think we need to do something severe..." She tapped her fingers on the desk, a habit she picked up at Hogwarts. Finger tapping tended to lead to a good idea. |
Quote:
"You don't have to worry", he said with a very reassuring voice. Supposedly, he was being a bit too pompous and only hoped that they'd understand his eagerness in his new work place. "I'll take care." Quote:
His voice was full of an american accent, and he dearly hoped that it wouldn't be mistaken for a tone of defiance or restlessness. He walked, hesitantly, across the room and took his seat behind one of the empty desks close to Lola. Unless he was very much mistaken, he was sure that she was also a Hogwarts graduate - something about her face seemed mildly familiar to him. "Er... Do I have an assignment to carry out?", he asked with a hint of uncertainty in his voice now. He was not yet sure as to whether freshers from school were given any priority at all, but in any case, he was prepared to work his hardest. |
Lola pushed back her red-rimmed glasses. She couldn't help but wonder if Keith was qualified, being so fresh out of Hogwarts. Or maybe he was a genius... or had connections... Lola's mind wandered with these fanciful thoughts. Then she snapped back to the Ministry. She thumbed through the potions book, looking for a very damaging potion... Quote:
|
Quote:
"I've heard of it. I have muggle friends who've told me about the alloy - something about it keeps it from rusting I believe", he said, smiling at what Lola said. He pretended not to notice anything when she laughed. "Muggles use them a lot for their utensils and such. I guess it wouldn't be too bad to introduce some of these varieties, would it?" |
Lola shrugged. "It just seems wrong to have such a shiny cauldron. Maybe I'm just too traditional," she mused. She got up and flicked the cauldron. It made a short, dull ring. "It's rather thick, isn't it? Then again, I recall having to carry my old Pewter cauldrons at Hogwarts, and that was kind of a pain, too!" She yawned and stretched her arms out. "I'm going to grab some coffee from the breakroom, anybody want some?" she asked, figuring that was the polite thing to do. |
Quote:
"Yes, well, it's rather thick, but I guess it has it's own advantages. I'm not sure if it'll sustain heavier potions though - it might not be so leak-proof when we need to heat up potions for very long. We might need to check that out too. Pewter was pretty strong stuff, and if this is up to mark, then voila! We have yet another, brand new product", he said and gave a short sigh. It wasn't too long since he had been making potions in a cauldron at Hogwarts - he did miss his school days. He looked up at Lola as she was leaving the office. "I'll take up on that offer - Cauldrons can get pretty dull I guess", he said smiling, as he got up from a chair which he had barely occupied for twenty minutes or so. He had guessed as much; his first day at work was going to be pretty long... |
Lola stood up and headed for the door. She let out a slight cough. Great, she thought. Now I'll probably get sick. About to walk out the door, she noted, "If you want to come, Chiara, we'll be in the break room, OK?" With that, she strolled out of the small office. |
"Yeah..." She said as she sat at her desk. "I think I'm going to stay here and work on this report..." she rolled her eyes. She picked up her quill and began writing: Quote:
|
Lola carefully walked back in, carrying two cups of coffee. She walked over to Chiara and held out one hand, holding a steaming cup. "Hey, I figured maybe you'd like some coffee after all that hard work on..." Lola squinted her eyes to make out what Chiara had been writing down. "...work on. Py-REX," she grinned. Then Lola walked over to Keith and put the other cup of coffee on his desk. "There you go," she said. "Miss anything while I was gone?" She headed back to her own desk, ready to get back to work. "Hey Chiara! Can you pass me the parchment your quill took notes on the first cauldron test?" she asked. "I just want to look it over again." |
Quote:
"Well, you haven't missed out anything too exciting yet", he said with a grin. His expression grew more serious. "Those batch of stainless steel cauldrons are resistant to corrosion - they've repelled most of my charms anyway. However, I think their thickness might need an increase - my guess was right. They're not too tolerant to high heat levels." He had another sip of his coffee and said, "I thought you might want to add that bit to your report. It seems important enough if professionals need to use them for potions." He had a sideward glance at the othe person to whom Lola was talking to - Chiara. He hadn't spoken to her at all and was wondering when to break the ice. |
Quote:
Lola thought she heard someone walk through the door, and she jerked into a formal, polite sitting position. She realized they hadn't done what their Division Head instructed them to do. With the revelation that they could get into trouble, Lola thumbed through the spell book and found the spell for a very strong cleaning solution. The book described it as perfect for 'slime, bile, and blood', which sounded demanding to her. She walked over to the ingredients cabinet and pulled out several bottles and returned to her desk. "I think we should get started at the Cleaning Solution Ms. O'Connor suggested we test out." She read over the instructions again, and then prepared to begin. |
Quote:
Keith got up from his desk and went over. He took the spell book and looked at it. He looked at the bottles that Lola had taken out. He wasn't too sure about how to go about it, so he decided he would let her go first - at least he'd learn that way. |
Quote:
|
Quote:
He went back to the Cauldron and took a look at it again. The potion was already turning into a slight shade of pink. He turned around and said to Lola, "I guess you were right. It's already starting to turn pink. Come and take a look." |
Quote:
"Ooooo coffee! Thank you!" She drank it down feeling it warm her insides. "I so needed a pickme up," she said rubbing the cup to her cheek. She got up and picked up the parchment, pocketing her quill. She tapped it with her wand twice, making two equal copies appear. "Here you are Lola, Oh, and Keith... was it? I have you a copy as well." She said with a getntle smile on her face. |
Quote:
Quote:
|
Quote:
"Chiara, right?", he asked her as politely as he could. Then giving a slight grin, he said, "I was wondering whether it would take us a while to break the ice. Not too long though!" Quote:
He turned to Lola and replied, "Yep. Fast again. It's pretty thick now. I just hope that the speed doesn't have any adverse effects when preparing complex potions. It would be a bummer if the normal contents got prepared faster and some were left undone. You think that might be a disadvantage?" |
Quote:
"You're welcome..." she said smiling to her co-worker. Good, she hadn't alienated her... Quote:
|
Quote:
"I never meant you looked unapproachable. I just meant that you looked a bit reserved. But I guess that's the same thing then", he said, smiling at her. Keith looked at Lola, at Chiara's question, and then replied, "Sure. I'm game for it anytime." |
Chiara covered her mouth as she yawned. She was tired... and there was something about what the minister had told her that made her want to slip into a dream world and think of the man... Minister Cooper was so handsome, charming... and powerful. She sighed. He'd suggested she transfer to a different department... he even said he'd assist her on it... she was now thinking a job change would be good. She liked Syd. He'd given her this job, and she would hate to leave the job... but what if she transfered within the department? She suddenly wanted to find Alison Raine-LaRousse and see how she was appointed to Liason... |
Quote:
Lola could see the contents spread over the desk. She pulled out a rag and tried to mop up as much of the liquid as possible. She forgot how vile this stuff smelled. "Erm, sorry about the smell, guys," she apologized, slightly embarrassed. When she finished cleaning up the excess liquid, there was a dark stain left on the desk. Taking her rag and dipping part of it into the solution, she hoped this worked, or else she would have sullied a perfectly good desk. She scrubbed the surface, which was now covered in the pink cleaning potion. She pointed her wand over the desk and water squirted out of the end. She took the rag and dried up the desk. With a sigh of relief, Lola announced "Whoo! That worked! So what do you guys think about this? I think the speedy completion is a great thing, as long as it's noted that times in potions book might not apply." |
Quote:
"Yeah, I guess you're right. But I still think it's not such a good idea when it comes down to complex potions which need to brew and be prepared over a longer period for them to have a stronger effect. Maybe it should be noted that such complex potions are to be avoided in this potion? And won't that defeat the entire point of the potion?", he asked. He stretched and slouched back to his desk, slumping down on his chair. He badly needed a bite as he hadn't had any breakfast that day. |
"So Keith...Lola," she said sipping her coffee... "Where are you two From?" She asked. |
Quote:
"Well, I'm from all the way at the end of the world", he said. "I'm basically from Tempe, Arizona in the US. But I've been here most of my life - I had my education here in Hogwarts, and joined work here. I haven't met my parents in quite a long time now." He scribbled down one of the cons of the cauldron on his piece of parchment and put down his quill. Stretching his hands, he looked over at Chiara with a pleasant smile on his face. "Where are you from?" |
Quote:
|
Quote:
He smiled and continued, "That's a pretty weird decision considering my entire line has been in Slytherin. All my cousins are from Slytherin." |
Quote:
"My father... well, my dad's a muggle but he was determined to woo my mother. Which I guess is a Slytherin trait." She shrugged. "So tell me... why the ministry? Why... Equipment control?" She said the last two words with distaste... it hadn't been her first choice. |
Quote:
Weighing his words so as not to sound hostile about his position, he replied carefully, "Well, Equipment control was not my first choice. It was an ambition of becoming an auror - one of the elite upholders of the law - that drew me towards the ministry." He sighed, start doodling on his parchment, and acknowledged, "I would have to admit that I'm only biding my time until I at least get a lateral shift into the auror department - I'm rearing to head into field work." He looked up slowly at Chiara and asked, "What about you? Why did you choose this department?" |
Lola sat back in her chair, daydreaming about the outdoors. She looked around, hoping for a window, but found none. She amused herself by thinking of all the funny things she could enchant those windows to show. But that wasn't her job, nor her area of expertise. Charms weren't her specialty. Lola, lost in thought, caught snippets of Keith and Chiara's conversation. She briefly heard Chiara mention Italy. It was as if her brain was recounting all that happened while she was lost in her imagination. "You were born in Italy? That's cool, you speak any Italian, then?" Lola always had an interest in language, she was only partially proficient in French, but always hoped to learn more. |
Quote:
Quote:
"Yeah, I do. In fact when I saw the Minister," she paused for effect, "He told me I should be in international co-operation..." She smiled. "I really need a snack... I'll be right back." She said heading to the break room. |
Quote:
He looked up when she was heading to the break room, then looked back down at his parchment. Feeling what he had written was quite enough, he pocketed it, wondering silently how long he would have to work in this department before he finally got a break. He looked at Lola and asked her, "So, how long have you been in the department?" |
Quote:
She pulled out a pocket mirror, trying her hair in different styles. It looked a little too unkempt, even for her. Has my hair gotten even less brown? she thought. It was always a mousy, dull brown, but now it looked even more so. Maybe I'll have to colour it... She dreaded the thought of changing her hair colour, as her mum always nagged her about. But now, it seemed like she would have to agree with her. |
Rebecca opened the door and walked in the room "Hello, i am here on behalf of Miss O'Connor, is everything ok in here?" |
Draconis Dumbldore Walked in.He was new here,so he didn't know much about Level 2. |
A little memo flew in and tapped Rebecca's hand Quote:
|
"I don't know much about computer's,But we could be dealing with some type of invisible dementor." |
Rebecca nodded "Good idea, check it out, but in the meantime we should go to Counterfit spells" Rebecca smiled |
"Or Its Possably the Protein Charm." |
Rebecca nodded "These are great ideas, if you go to couterfit spells then you can debate, and hopefully find a good spell" |
"Are we all going?" |
"Yes when everyone gets here" |
Lola pulled out one of her old Charms books from Hogwarts and started flipping through it. Charms was never her strongest subject, so she wasn't sure how helpful she could be on this case. Nevertheless, she was more than willing to offer up any assistance she could. "I'm ready to help, Ms. Todd. We'll stop this, for sure. I hope who ever caused this gets punished." Lola took off her glasses and wiped them with her robe. She put them back on, lenses cleaned, eager to prove herself. |
Rebecca was surprised when someone called her Ms. Todd "Please call me Rebecca" she smiled "And four departments are working on this so i'm pretty confident we will get the person who did it" Rebecca nodded happily |
"This is Probably gonna lead to Battle,But this is gonna be a challenge." |
Rebecca nodded "We all need a challenge sometimes" |
"Good Point." About 3 minutes later,Draconis was back in the room "Hmmmmm.....Probably name the spell the name of my owl."Then Draconis wrote the name Down. Dissendium a spell to overpower a sole sucking object. "Lets hope this'll work." "Accio dummy!" and when the dummy came in front of him, then he used the spell non-verbally. Disendium! He thought. BOOM! the dummys head exploded. "Reparo!" He said,Then the dummy was back together. "Dissendium!" then the dummy got a hole in its head. "Uhhhh,Reparo! I think thats enough for now." |
Rebecca smiled as a dummy came flying towards her, when the head blew up she jumped, "I don't think that this spell will be used" Rebecca said half giggling, half scared. She saw the time and jumped again "I've really gotta go now, i have something going on in my office" Rebecca smiled |
Riddelfululis! The dummy wasnt sucking the sole out of the other spell dummy. "This could be the one!" |
Lola sat, legs crossed, at her desk, scribbling down possible solutions to this recent event. She looked up just as something flew across the room. She rolled her eyes, new employees can certainly get excited. She chuckled as she recalled how over eager she had been on her first day. She opened her top drawer in her desk, and pulled out a headband. She decided to put it on, she never dressed herself up, but this was a step in the right direction. She combed out her hair with her fingers and slid the lemon green headband through her short hair. "Much better," she murmured as she looked at herself in a small pocket mirror. "I certainly think so," her reflection replied. |
"I think,Personally,That once a spell is found,We should go to a muggle victims House,And search the laptop"Sugested Draconis. |
Lola shook her head. "I think...erm, sorry I don't believe I've gotten your name... I think if we do find the correct spell or counter-curse, we ought to inform our superiors and allow them to make the decision." She had another thought and scribbled it down on her piece of parchment. After about a minute or so, she scribbled it out. No, that's not it... she thought. She turned again to the man. "Besides, if we head in there wands drawn, it will most certainly attract attention. It needs to be carefully planned out, since this appears to be quite widespread." She was about to continue on about the complicated logistics of the matter when she had an idea. She flipped open a book on magical creatures and opened the page about Dementors. "What if some dark wizards found a way to take advantage of the Dementor's ability to suck out souls... I mean, is that even possible to replicate?" she asked, slightly horrified. "I mean, who would ever want to do something like that!" |
"Hmm.....Probably a Duplicate spell,Or a invisebility spell.Oh,And my name is Draconis.Nice to meet you." Draconis Scribbled another spell "Hmmm.....If theres a Dark wizard in a muggle house,We mind as well make a spell to reveal if there is."Said Draconis. Enots Revlis. To reveal a presence of a Dark Wizard. |
Lola shrugged. "I'm not sure if there are dark wizards in the muggle homes, but they probably put some curse or jinx on the machines." She yawned and stretched her arms. She slipped on her black high heels, a gift from her mother. "I need a break," Lola said, walking towards the door. Her shoes clicked on the hard floor. She tried to tip toe to soften the noise, but that was just uncomfortable for her. Lola and her noisy heels exited the room. |
"Anyways, there could be a group.Slycoris!"Said Draconis,Pointing his wand at the Dummy, and then it folded into a box. "Always a Charm!" Laghed Draconis. |
Lola strolled in wearing bright lime green robes. She yawned, having had a rough night's sleep. Her hair was shorter, having finally cut it. Her mousy hair was messy, a consequence of having overslept. Walking over to her desk, she put down her things and pulled out a pocket mirror from her desk drawer. In her spacious purse, she rummaged around until she located a comb, which she used to tame her rebellious hair. |
Rebecca walked in and looked around "how are you doing today?" |
Lola rolled her chair around to properly view Rebecca. She shrugged in response to the inquiry. "I'm fine, had a bit of a rough night. My crup wouldn't sleep through the night, and he barked and barked... which irritated my owl, who wouldn't keep quiet. What a disaster!" she noted with a hint of bitterness in her voice. Realising she was being very self centered, she turned the question around. "And youself?" she asked in a sweet voice. |
Rebecca smiled sympathetically at Lola "Ahhh, not very nice, is it?" Rebecca looked at Lola's tired face and then gave a big grin "Im fine, thankyou for asking" Rebecca sighed "I would give you the day off, but there is another assignment" Rebecca handed Lola the note Quote:

Putting down the note, she looked up at Rebecca, her new boss. This little announcement took her by surprise. She straightened up in her chair and tried to look as professional as possible, though she knew it didn't matter. "Oh OK" was all she could say. |
Rebecca smiled "Sorry about that shock" Rebecca giggled a little "I am still Rebecca though! dont look at me any differently, I just hand you assignments and help out with them" Rebecca smiled and then turned as a memo came flying in, she caught it before it hit her in the eye Quote:

Draconis walked in the room,And noticed Rebecca there."Hello!I hope there arent any meetings today,Since my owl,Dissendium,Never went quiet."Said Draconis,Rubbing his eyes. |
Rebecca smiled "Hello Draconis, no there are no meetings but there is another job" She indicated towards the 2 pieces of paper |
"Oh...Money stealing purses?Man,How far can they get?"Said Draconis,Putting on his glasses for a better view. |
