Melanie looked at Rider. 'He is so cute' she thought to herself. Then she pushed that thought out of her mind. "I like that idea, Amy. So the gas was left on and someone walks past the house, lights a match, to light the cigarette and throws the match on the ground, or whereever and ignites the gas. I like it. But will the muggles buy that story?" |
Rider turned to Melanie, and noticed the way she was looking at him. "Hello there, i dont beleive that i know your name. Mines Rider, in case you didnt know. Well, i think the muggles would buy it. I mean, what else could they beleive?" he asked, looking around the room. He turned back to Melanie and grinned, ran his hand through his hair. |
Melanie's face turned a little red. Was she starting to have feelings for this guy?? She can't be, she just met him. "I-I-I'm Mel-Melanie" Why am i stuttering?? "That's true. Muggle would buy anything." She giggled a little, then smiled sweetly. |
Rider smiled at Melanie. "So, is that the story that we're gonna use or not?" he asked the other woman in there, turning to look at her. His eyes kpet flickering back towards the very attractive melanie. He thought her merely cute, not beautiful and she seemed a little too shy for him. But he was nice, and just gave her the hugest smile he could muster. |
Melanie grinned a little. She didn't want to seem shy around Rider. She felt like she was starting to develop feelings for him. And she could feel that he felt something for her. But she turned her attention back to the case at hand. "i think we should use it, Mindy." |
"Glad you all agree with that," Amy says. "So what do we do next?" |
Rider shrugged. "I have no clue...should we tell the head of our little commitee here..." he trailed off, kind of confused. His black eyes looked around the room, and then back at his co-workers. He ran his hand through his hair in a confused way(im pretty sure i have seen guys do this!) |
"we have to tell the Head of the Committee and see what he thinks about it." Then Melanie looked at Mindy. "Do you have to present it to him or would one of us have to do it?" |
"I'll do it," Mindy told Melanie. "Good work, everyone," she said, beaming around the table. "I'm sure this will be accepted." Mindy glanced down at the notes she'd taken. There was one little thing that she wasn't sure about. "Is anyone real familiar with muggle smoking habits?" she asked, grinning still. "I'm not sure if they use matches. They have those.... lighter things, I believe..." Mindy swallowed, hoping she wasn't way off base. "So... perhaps we could say it was a cigarette that wasn't properly put out." |
"Yes i think it's called a 'lighter'. They flick it and it sparks and ignites i think." Melanie smiled a little."And i agree with that, the cigarette wasn't put out properly and it hit the gas." |
Rider raised an eyebrow, not familiar with this kind of stuff. "Um, sure...that could work also," he said with a slight grin. He ran a nervous hand through his hair. |
"Thank you Mindy," Amy says, "and I quite agree that a cigarette butt, what is left of a cigarette that's not usable, is the better excuse." |
Mindy chuckled. "A cigarette butt, is that what they're called?" she asked, an amused expression on her face. "Well then..." She jotted down cigarette butt on her paper. "I'll write up the report quickly and then take it up the the Boss Man." She grinned broadly at the other members of the committee. "You can all go get some coffee or food. Feel free to mingle!" Mindy gave a small wink before settling herself comfortably into her desk chair. She then began to write... |
Melanie started to laugh. "A cigarette butt?? Muggles are so weird." Then she turned to Mindy. "Do you need any help writing the report?" |
Mindy looked up at Melanie, who was also obviously amused by the idea of cigarette butts. "No, I think I've got it covered." She smiled at her co-worker, dipped her quill back in the ink, and continued to write. Soon, Mindy was done. She got out of her chair, clutching the report in one hand. "I'll be back," she said to the other workers. She was now going to deliver the report to the Head of Department. |
"Okay then" Melanie watched as Mindy started to write the report, then left the room to hand it to the Head of Department. After Mindy left, she walked out the door and headed for the break room. |
