Welcome to Moronic Magical Wonders!

As you walk in the door, you are facing a long glass case that is filled with bottles of potions and big jars of herbs. Behind the counter are displays of candy, perfume and soap. There is also an old scale and several empty vials and bottles.

The scent of vanilla fills the air, along with the sound of water trickling and a guitar strumming. Then you notice a tree in the corner, next to it is a small waterfall. If you look closely, you will see several birds in the tree and a ball of fur sleeping at its base.

A young woman approaches the counter. She’s in her twenties, with long wavy auburn hair. She’s dressed like a gypsy in a white peasant blouse and a blue/green paisley skirt. As she gets closer, you notice that her right eye is sapphire blue, while the left eye is emerald green…..and she’s painted her long nails the same….blue on the right hand and green on the left.

A very graceful Siamese cat jumps on the counter, as the proprietress, Cassilda Marogn, asks, ‘Can I be of service?’

Postmaster Pete walked into the shop with his usual air of superiority...an assessment that only he had...

'How's it going Cass? Business been good?' he asked with a leer.

'How about closing up for a while and grabbing a drink?'he asked hopefully...for the 20th time.

'Hi, Pete' Cassilda replied, looking extremely bored. 'They let you off you leash again, or did you sneak out the back door, as usual?'

Cassilda stopped to stroke the back of her Siamese cat. 'You keep scaring off customers, you know. They take only look at you and figure that my love potions don't work.'

'Maybe you should buy one of my potions. I think Klutz Kure would do you wonders...or if you have a sweet tooth, some Choc Full O'Charm Chocolates.' Cassilda suggested, as she stroked her extremely long fingernails down the length of the cat

'Oh, that's so funny that I forgot to laugh.' Pete retorted. 'Come on, there's nothing going on...and have you noticed that very few MEN come into your shop. It's mostly love-sick females looking for a quick solution to fix their loneliness. Here I am in the flesh, trying to fix yours.'

'Postmaster Pete! You haven't been intercepting my posts have you?' Cassilda spat. 'I'll have you know, I'm not in the least bit lonely, now get out!'

Cassilda watched the door close, then turned to her Siamese and started stroking here back again. 'What a loser!'

Sheeba turned her head up to her Mistress and said, 'Nyah-nyah-nyah' which was her way of laughing...then she went back to purring.

Cassilda walked over to the tree in the back corner. A rather shoddy looking Mtn Lion named JP was sleeping on the floor. Cassilda sat down next to him and scratched behind his ears. 'How's my favorite fella doing today?'

JP, her Mountian Lion was 4 times the size of a housecat. Given a chance, he could take down an adult. JP, however, was a lover, not a fighter. Ever since his master, James, died, he was the male head of household. It was a job he took seriously. Cassilda and James were very much in love...so much so, that they seemed to think and feel as one. JP knew this....and he also knew how much his Mistress missed him. She wanted that love back. She wanted everybody to have that love.

Cassilda would concoct potion after potion, until she found that love again.....

Amelia opened the shop door and entered, looking around,the overpowering smells of the various ingredients being sold there hitting her nose hard. She held the door open for Steven, although she was grateful for the fresh air that was coming in as well.

"Hello," she called out, hoping the shop assistant would hear her. "Cass?"

Cassilda hears somebody enter the shop. Emerging from the back room, she says, ‘Welcome, Welcome to Wonderland’ As the gypsy walks to the counter, her gold bangle bracelets and dangling gold earrings catch the light….and a siamese cat runs up and jumps on the counter. As she gets closer, you notice that her right eye is sapphire blue, while the left eye is emerald green…..and she’s painted her long nails the same….blue on the right hand and green on the left…

‘Here for some potion ingredients, I’ll bet. As you can see, I have a wide variety of herbs, oils and secretions.’ She says sweetly, her eyes on the young man. She didn’t get many young men in here shop…this was a treat. ‘Maybe a plant or two?’

Cassilda kept an eye on both customers....especially the young man. It wasn't looking very promising though...neither one seemed all that interested in her products.

Amelia walked over to the counter, smiling at Cass. She was glancing over at the herbs, trying to look the part of a browsing customer.

"Hi," she greeted her, slightly startled by the differing colours of her eyes, matched by her nails. "I heard you were the best in town for potions ingredients," Amelia praised, trying to strike up a conversation with the shop keeper.

Whilst Amelia was waiting for the Cass to answer, she noticed a young girl and boy enter the shop and were chatting away. Amelia rolled her eyes, preying that they weren't going to mess up this mission. This was far too important to be jepodised!

Cass eyed the you man with pleasure...too bad she didn't get more male customers...so nice to look at...

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a couple kids enter the shop. They didn't appear to be looking for anything in particular...best keep an eye on them.

Amelia noticed Cass fix her gaze momentarily on Steven and her mouth formed into a smile. 'So, she had a soft spot for the men," Amelia thought.

"Well, to tell you the truth, I am trying to get back into my potion making again, and wanted to start small and get bigger," she explained. This wasn't far from the truth, and Amelia hated lying so decided to use this to her advantage. Lies were so hard to keep up with. "I'm really looking at growing my own ingridients when I can, but obviously, that isn't always possible. Is there anything you would suggest?"

She was keen to keep dialogue up with Cass as much as she could, but didn't want it to look apparant what she was doing: fishing for info. Soon she would leave and pass the show on to Steven to secure the information they needed.

Things were looking up. Hopefully this would turn into a fairly large sale, as business had been slow lately. Now if those kids would either buy something, or leave….

Replying to the lady, Cassilda offered, ‘Well, a lot depends on which potions you ar going to brew. Many of the plants do well here. Was there any particular potion you were interested in?’

All the time, she was sizing up the young man. A little young for her perhaps, but she could do with a little youthful vigor. Yes, he might do nicely, she thought as she gave him a big smile.

Cass reached into one of the counters and pulled out a little silver plate with two chocolates on it. 'Would you care for a chocolate?' she said to the lady, eyes still on the young man.

Amelia was aprehensive about accepting a chocolate in a potions shop when she knew there were dodgy ones flying about, which she was investigating. But she didn't let it show one bit on her face and accepted graciously. "Ooh, thank you. I'll save that for later. I always get a sweet tooth after dinner."

She placed it in her pocket, and then turned her attention back to the conversation. "I'm really interested in brewing potions just to get back into the swing of things. Like a pepper up for turning into work after a late night, or a wit sharpening potion to impress my boss. But I am looking to get better and more confident with it, so a variation of more commonly used ingredients really. Any suggestions?" she smiled, laughing inside to herself at how much attention she was paying Steven.

I could have them in two days. Now, for the Invigoration Draught, do you want to go with peppermint oil or a peppermint plant? How powerful do you want this potion to be…a strong one uses Scotchbonnets, but most folk are happy with Jalapeno. I’m sure that you have a cauldron. Do you need an other hardware?’ She was hoping that this would turn into a nice sale…things were pretty slow.

Amelia smiled, listening to the advice Cass administered. She pondered for a moment and replied "I'll take the ingredients you suggested, and I think I would like the Peppermint plant, rather than oil. I just think it's better when you've cared for the ingredients yourself, don't you find?"

She inspected the other plants that were in the store and decided to go the whole hog. "I'll take the Scotchbonnets, I think. And I just can't resist the Wolfsbane, Hellebore, Lemonbalm and White Sage too."

She turned her attention back to Cass and began to chuckle. "I'm terrible. Once I get started with shopping, there is no stopping me. I still have all of my equipment from last time, just the ingredients have seemed to have been mislaid somewhere in my flat. God knows where they've got to, so I thought why not treat myself to new. What's the point of slaving away if you can't splash out now and again."

‘Very good’ Cassilda responded. ‘Let me gather that all together for you.’ Cassilda went in the back and came back out with a box. First she loaded the plants; Peppermint, Wolfsbane, Hellebore, Lemon Balm and White Sage. Next she packaged up the Ginger Roots and Armadillo Bile. Placing the box on the counter, she exclaimed, ‘Oops, almost forgot your peppers.’ She grabbed a small paper sack from under the counter and went over to the plants and carefully using the paper sack, removed a small red pepper, came back, and placed it in the box. ‘Now be very carefully when you work with the pepper. Make sure that you don’t get any in your eyes. Let me go add this up.’

Cassilda walked to the end of the counter and pulled out parchment and a quill. After a few minutes, she came back. ‘Your total comes to 6 galleons, 16 sickles and 7 knuts. That includes the Scarab Beetles, which will be here late tomorrow afternoon.’ Cassilda smiled.

Surprised at how cheap this was going to be, Amelia smiled and went for her purse. "That's great. I just need to figure out what to try first." She dug into her purse and extracted 7 galleons and handed them to her, shrugging off the change. "Let's just call it 7."

Amelia then thought, 'It's either now or never.' She leaned slightly over th counter lowering her voice so the other customers wouldn't overhear. "I don't suppose you could point me in the right direction? I don't really want to broadcast it around, but the real reason I'm trying to get into potion making again is.... well, is because of this guy." Amelia blushed right on cue, trying her best to look embarrassed. She twirled a lock of hair around her finger as she continued "It's so stupid, but I'm just a little too shy to approach him myself, so I was hoping for a little ... help. Is there anything you could suggest?"

In her mind, she was keeping her fingers crossed, hoping that the information she needed so badly was going to be presented to her.

Cassilda took the coins with a large smile. ‘Thank you….most kind.’ Her smile started to falter when she heard the remainder….but recovered nicely.

‘It sounds like you’re looking for some sort of Love Potion. Just as with other potions, you have a couple options…buying the premade or making your own. The most common premade concoctions are the candies, but if you want to tackle it, making your own Amortentia has the great success.’ Cassila offered.
