Located off the Elevator Lobby, the Cafeteria is a large room with numerous round tables,lots of comfy chairs, large (albeit fake) windows and constant background noise. On the left wall of the Cafeteria is a counter selling fresh sandwiches and salads, while a range of hot and cold beverages (and junk food) is available from the table-top vending machine.

The table top vending machines work using a table-mounted menu of items. You touch the item you want on the list, then watch your head! as your selected item descends from the ceiling. The cans of Pumpkin Juice can be particularly painful if one hits you on the head.

A team of busboys (and girls, and possibly some House Elves) will clear your plates as soon as you are done.

Rider swallowed his food.
"My names Rider...and i work for the Department od Magical Accidents and Catrastofies(ahh sp?)...im new also...this is my first day!" he told the lady excitedly, and took another sip of cold coffee.

"Congratulations," Clara's smiled was wide and devouring. "How do you like it so far? How does your boss treat you? You find it all enjoyable, yes?" Clara patted Mr.Inagaki's arm with the end of her quill, trying to be comforting to him. Just in case.

She glanced to Rider. "Rider is a peculiar sort of name. Where did you get it?"

Yusuke blinked as the end of Clara's quill brushed around on his arm. He looked down at it and then back up at her.

"Its pretty good. Its a cool job to have... well I guess mine is anyway," he said. "And Branxton treats us just fine. Though I think he misses his family."

Rider cast her a funny stare, and then dumped his coffee in the nearby garbage can. He took out his quill, and scribbled down a note, and stuck it in his pocket.
"I dont know...my father liked to ride dragons...he was a dragon trainer, so he named me Rider. Dont ask, my father was crazy." he replied, thinking about about all the crazy stunts his father had done.

"Yes, do you find it hard to work for someone that has his precedencies elsewhere - other than here at work? Or, perhaps, you find it hard to work for someone who has their priorities elsewhere, other than with the family? How's your own family doing? Well?" Clara tapped his arm with her quill with a wink.

Clara looked back to Rider. "Oh deary me, darling. Can you define "crazy" for me?" Clara asked, writing furiously in her notebook.

Yusuke blinked again and stammered. This woman asked 30 questions a minute, but then again, don't all reporters?

He cleared his throat and his head. "Well, Branxton is a fine boss even though he's busy elsewhere. He gives us our tasks and we do them, leaving them for him when he returns to his office here. Though I can't say anything else about that..." he said, glancing back down at his badge.

"And my family is doing just fine. My nephew was accepted into Hogwarts this year."

Rider was tired of these questions..it greatly annoyed him but he didnt show it.
"Crazy as in jumping off the top of a building without a wand, a rope, or anything to save him, only the ground. he lives, of course. You may have heard of him, Jays Handorous. He also tried to ride a dragon without straps or anything...he was thrown off into a lake, and then had to swim to shore. I havent heard from him a while..." he stopped, looking over at the woman. He had given her way too info already, and would refuse to give anymore.

Yusuke turned to Rider, quite astonished at the tales he was telling.

"Wow... All that really happened to him? That's... that's kind of amazing," he chuckled, opening his bottle of water and taking a sip.

"That's a nice, safe answer. Perhaps one day, when we've become much better friends," Clara paused to get out her card, with all her information on it," you'll tell me the truth." Clara passed Yusuke her card and patted his arm once more. He clearly had an issue with Doyle and Clara had to find out more.

Once again, she turned to Rider. She blinked at him several times. "You father ... Well, if he dies, let me know, okay? Excellent," Clara smiled at the poor dear. "Good day to you gentlemen." Clara snapped her notebook shut, feeling content with the information she'd gathered. She went on her busy way, waiting until it was time for her meeting.

Rider shrugged.
"Trust me...it gets old...me and my father dont exactly get along..." he told the man quietly. he watchd as the woman left, and breathed a sigh of releif.
"Thank the lord...i hate reporters...annoying!" he exclaimed.

Yusuke nodded to Rider. It was understandable that anything cool could get old. He took the card forced upon him by Clara.

"Uh... Thanks?" he said, looking over the rather chic design of the card.

Once she got up and left, Yusuke turned to Rider.

"I have a feeling I've made a new... 'friend'," he said taking a bite out of his sandwich.

Rider chuckled.
"Yea, lucky for you," he replied sarcastically. "Hey, you said you worked in the Department of Mysteries. Are you an..an..." he dropped his voice to a whisper. "unspeakable?"

Yusuke chuckled and ran a hand through his hair, scratching his head.

"Yeah. Unfortunately," he said smiling. "Thus I can never tell anyone much about what happens at work from day to day because no one can know."

He shrugged a bit and smiled, "But that's life I guess. And I believe you work in the same department as my friend Ivan."

Rider nodded.
"I think i saw him...but i work in the commitee...we have to come up with reasons why magic happens to muggles...like if a house caught on fire by a charm cast by a wizard. we have to figure out to turn it into some story the muggles would beleive...and then we hand it over to the obliviators and they erase the actualy memory and replace it with the one we made up. I think its rather boring...except for the fact that everyone in the committee are girls cept me," he said with a grin, eating a donut.

Yusuke swallowed a bite of sandwich and chuckled.

"Well it seems kind of fun to me. Coming up with stories and all," he said. "Our department is heavily staffed with females too. My division has on woman...boy is she a character. She hates men and yet she's stuck with 3 of them," he chuckled again.

Rider laughed. "Well there this one woman...Melanie, well i think she has a crush, well maybe a liking for me. Shes pretty...but i dont know her yet! Its only me first day...i dont wanna hurt her feelings or anything..." he confessed. He liked Melanie...but he didnt know her well enough yet.

Yusuke nodded, finishing up his sandwich. He held onto the wrapper and continued to drink his water.

"Well I say get close to her then. You never know what can happen in the office," he said with a wink.

Rider rolled his eyes.
"Id rather NOT get involved with anyone in my office...what if we break up, and then the committtee gets all messed up," he told him. "What about you? Found loveee yet?" he asked with a chuckled.

Yusuke laughed and smiled, shaking his head.

"No, no not yet. Though I usually compliment that girl in my department because it sets her on edge and... well its kind of funny," he said, blushing a bit.

"And she isn't bad looking so I'm not lying. Either way its funny."

"Ha, it must be amusing. Hey, how old are you? IM 20...almost 21...im the youngest on the committeee...aside from Melanie, who is the same age as me. Weird, huh?" he asked, now that he thought about it. Maybe it was fates way of telling him that he should get with this girl.

Yusuke smiled again and sat back in his chair. He nodded as he heard that Rider and Melanie were the same age.

"Oh me? I'm ollllld. 30."

He chuckled and rubbed his face.

Rider laughed.
"You seem so much younger!" he said out loud, but then regretted it. He didnt know if he would take it was a compliment or an insult.

Yusuke laughed and finished his water. He closed the bottle and smiled.

"Yeah, I get that a lot. I don't mind. I don't think I act 30 either!"

He laughed again. "Nor do I seem like a Unspeakable people tell me."

"No, you dont. I knew one...he went missing though. And since he never ever talked to anyone, no one was close to him and they never found him," he replied, ordering another (cold, disgusting) coffee. He loved coffee...it kept him going through the day.

"Yikes... That's not good. I wonder if he's ok..." Yusuke said, looking down at the table. "I guess its tough not letting people know stuff..."
