"About time they finished the renovations," she said tiredly walking into her office and leaving the door ajar for others to come in behind her. Walking straight towards her desk, she grazed a few appliances with her finger and settled herself behind her desk, rummaging through her drawers and making sure all was she she requested. "Perfect."
Coming from the Department of Magical Education corridor, an oak ligneous door is propped halfway open with a silver plaque coruscating the title 'Gretta J. Amerie' in an navy blue color. After entering the threshold, the space is shaped in an oval like circle gathering illumination from a rectangular window which bends with the back half of the perimeter, allowing visitors to see perfectly past her desk and towards the busy streets of London.
The office walls are paneled with oak bookshelves which are foaming with literature ranging from instructional methods of teaching to spell books and classified folders containing OWL and NEWT information.
In the middle, two navy blue arm chairs along with a coffee table between them stand perfectly angled to face the office desk. Two silver coasters, lay on the coffee table along with a small lamp that add a bit more light to the space.
Gretta's desk is made of oak wood, holding a few picture frames of her family, friends and her owl, which is perched right behind her desk on his stand. The desk has no sign of paperwork. It is spotless and organized besides a floating note pad and pen which is ready to write anything and everything on command.
On the back of her door is a painted portrait of Minerva McGonagall. Though it doesn't move, she believes it to be a priceless representation of who she is and what she believes in.
Seated behind her desk, she turns her chair and glances out her marvelous window taking sips of Romanian coffee and waiting patiently for any of her employee's to wonder aimlessly in. |

The atmosphere within Gretta's office clearly had escalated and not on her account, which for Gretta was not allowed. She couldn't fully understands Lucille's frustration at her and why she'd felt so strongly about writing to the students parents. What agenda did Ms.Stedman have and how did it involve her precisely. Naturally she didn't have to speak with Gretta to attain a resolve, so why exactly had some come if she didn't need to. "Your tone," she started, "your words," she continued and gave another pause. "I'm baffled by your actions," she said vaguely getting to her feet and circling the office and repositioning herself behind her desk.
"I give you my opinions on what would be the right way to go about getting your wishes fulfilled and in return," she took in a breath to pick her words carefully," I find myself being constantly misunderstood and attacked. But let me say a few things," her voice became direct and stern. " I never once said you couldn't speak with Mr.Rider. I advised that you went with solid information because in my opinion you didn't really have any. My OPINION," she enunciated, "is valid because you choose not to share it with me. But if in fact if you really trusted Mr.Rider and his judgement there would be NO necessary need for you to come speak with me because there would be no doubt Jacob would handle this issue the same way he did with the Werewolf episode." Her agitation had risen from a content state to a mixture of emotions: confusion and frustration.
"Let's leave the cheeky attitude elsewhere especially when it's about this Department and let's be frank," her teeth gritted at the thought of Ms. Stedman hinting at her ignorance of the past of the Department. "Back in the day," she gave a mocking hand gesture, "Samantha Rose was the Department Head. Not Jacob! So the way this Department functions and represents itself is on Jacob's account. How this Department conducts itself currently is no way near as remarkable as it used to be. And my opinion is once again not invalid because I have worked under Madam Rose and Jacob is not comparable with how he handles crisis," she paused, "you know the Werewolf incident." She rolled her eyes at allowing herself to nearly say half the things she said. But it was too late! "About the proposal, I didn't mean an actual hand written document. I was referring to a verbal proposal. Articulating your ideas and desires which would encourage your listeners to take action. If I were the Minister and you came into my office and presented this information. I would surely investigate it but make no promises. Why would I not take immediate action? Because you hadn't provided me with substantial information. Ms.Stedman, you walked into my office and asked to speak with me about a serious matter and yet you don't find it wise to release full details. I might as well deem this conversation as you spreading foolish rumors," her eyes widened as she slammed her fist down on her desk.
"My final question is why have you decided to come meet with me? To bring awareness within the Department? For advice? Support, because I given and taken all of the above." She sighed fingering for her wand and holding it firmly in her hand. "I will repeat, you have my support. But few key things: The Headmaster name is Bontecou not BettenCourt so please be sure to get his name correct. Secondly, I do doubt Jacob and I will continue to lack faith until I see his actions and judgement calls have improved or changed. Third, if you don't need my help or assistance then I don't know why you have come here and you would be not only wasting my time but your own. And last," she squinted her eyes and peered directly into Lucille Stedman's eyes. " I act and do whatever is right for the people I serve and the people I work for is the bettering of this magical community. So saying you're surprised that I support you is like saying your surprised I would do the right thing. I may not be the nicest cheerful witch of the century but I have never given ANYONE in this department a reason to doubt me and my ethics." Quote:

"Ms.Stedman I'm sure you have nothing positive to say so let me not allow you to waste your breath anymore and show you to the door. If you hurry I'm sure the Minister we be able to meet with you in a few weeks. Or you could just go to Jacob, but I'm sure you really don't want to do that because naturally you would've never came to me," she finished stowing her wand back into her desk drawer and smiled looking past Lucille and towards her next guest.
"And he probably wouldn't want to see you either," she mumbled keeping a pleasant smile on her face for her next guest.

| Twilight’s Tulip | | Innocent Badger | | Good Girls Go Bad | | Hopeless Romantic "Actually, I do." She spoke up didn't even raising her voice. She didn't leave, instead, she closed the door. "Why don't you stop the little games, Gretta? You know more thing you're supposed to know. And starting by your last statement, I can fairly see why I couldn't trust you." It was a stunning surprise, but Lucy was awkwardly calm. Her tone was firm and controlled, and her eyes were just as icy as an ice cream. "I only came to you because this is a serious matter and you are my superior." Plus, I needed to see for myself why nobody likes you. "Second: I shall give the information I omitted you when talking to higher authorities who do have something to say about this." She didn't bother if she was crossing the lien there. Gretta Amerie had crossed it when she had mentioned her relationship with Jake. "Third: If you had ethics, like you claim, you wouldn't say what you just said. It's completely un-ethical, unprofessional and if you still don't know that, you don't belong here. Personal relationships are handled outside these offices. Understood?" Lucy seemed like she was lecturing some pre-school kid, only she was harsher. Gretta was an adult, a grown up, therefor she should act like it. "Fourth point: I worked with samantha Rose and under her directions myself. I knows perfectly well how she ran this office, the same way I am aware of how Jacob Rider runs this office. What I think of any of them is personal and, with all due respect, that's still none of your business. Plus, it's just rude to talk about people who are not here to defend themselves, don't you agree?" Now, she was being sarcastic. That woman pushed on everybody's nevers, including someone generally calm such as Briony... and herself. But then again, she had a few issues with authority.
Last point and then she'd be gone. "I don't trust you. And I'm not going to put my family in the middle of this when talking to someone I can't trust. I'm allowed to do so, because you won't be the one solving this issue. I was hoping to report these murders, than they'd be led to the law enforcement office as well as the minister - for an investigation. And as for the Headmaster's name... Don't you. Just like you, I like to get a few informations before handling someone new..."
And then... puf... Lucy Hope was gone. And Gretta Amerie had won another enemy in the department.

" I just wanted to tell you I am back working at the Magical Education Department again" J.J. Starr told Gretta. "Since the liason's departemnt closed, I was hoping I would be re-assigned to this department and I have been blessed" Joe Jon Montcenaggio said to Gretta. " I am working for the Magical Education Inspection Committee again" J..J Starr smiled at her.

A few things were apparent to Gretta after meeting with Lucille. The first was that Gretta was making herself highly disliked within her department. But sadly she didn't care what people thought of her. As Lucille had stated, she was their superior and rightfully so no one has to respect or trust her but the employee's of her department will surely know whose boss and have the last word. Secondly, Lucille's information had evidently come from a source within her family; otherwise she wouldn't have mentioned them by urging her desire to protect them. And her final conclusion was that Lucille was extremely passive and dismissive. Bringing Mr.Rider's name into this conversation was simply used for explanation purposes. Gretta had never directly said anything about their past. Yes, subliminally, Gretta had made a few jabs. But her intentions by no means were to upset her thus far. "Our next staff meeting will surely be arousing," she chuckled allowing her eyes to linger on the spot from where Ms.Stedman had just left.
Barely paying any mind to Mr.Montcenaggio, her mind continued to drift on her conversation with Lucille. "If in fact she wanted to get an investigation started, she should have went to them first and moved towards the Minister in which our Department would have naturally taken action," she muttered feeling sorry for Lucille and the way she presented herself. Finding a blank torn parchment on her desk, she wrote herself a reminder to send Mr.Rider an owl to schedule a meeting for the two of them to discuss certain employee's of the department.
Finally taking the time to acknowledge J.J, she'd only managed to hear his last sentence before he smiled kindly towards her. "Uh, Welcome back," she added. "I'm sure your return to the Department will be accepted well by your colleagues and I'll be sure to send Mr.Rider an owl saying I've consented your request. Sorry to hear about the Liaison," she sympathized half-heartedly. Gretta had a lot on her mind and hosting another gathering within her office was last thing she wanted to do. First thing to do was send Jacob an owl. But why hadn't Lenwe returned from delivering Angelina her owl by now?

The blonde woman was having a good day. Seriously. Then, why heading to Gretta Amerie's office? Because, in that moment, the annoying not-so-little woman seemed just like the type of person who'd have the kind of information she needed. And she was her division head.
Lucy knocked twice and waited for her boss to tell her she could go inside. She was about to throw herself to the beast. No offense, Gretta. |

Strolling off of the Ministry's lift, Gretta walked quietly down the corridor on auto-pilot allowing her brain to concentrate on nothing but her son and his departure to Hogwarts. "Ian," she sighed closing her eyes and visioning her young son's face. Be safe, Be safe, she kept thinking as if through telekinesis he would hear his mothers thoughts.
"Lucille," she said in a shocked tone opening her eyes to the woman who stood in front of her office door. "Pleasure," she lied and quieted her face. "If it's not dire to speak with me," she paused to ruffle her hair and get her thoughts straight, "I would really like if you could send me a memo or come at another time. Not unless of course, it is urgent," she rebutted her first statement and smiled weakly. The matters of her Department and the affairs of her employee's were very important to her... but what about her own.
Without another glance at Ms. Stedman, she proceeded past their encounter and through the threshold.
Her office was the same. The usual cozy and neatly decorated room with it's wide windows and high arch ways. "Welcome back," she told herself proudly and walked towards her desk yet digging through her robes. "Even better," she laughed placing at silver and blue picture frame on her desk next to Cordova's. Looking at her the picture frame, a small blonde boy waved in the picture frame pinching his Ravenclaw robes proudly. "Yes," she peered over her shoulders, "that's my boy!"

"Well, I love and loved working here" J.J. Starr told Gretta. " I am planning on going to my sports career and retiring from the ministry" Joe jon Montcenaggio said to Gretta. " I just got married and I can make more money going back to being a baseball player, football player, wrestling superstar and playing quidditch again" Rex explained to her.

"Oh," is all she felt necessary to say. "Well good luck with that," she continued her encouragement as she sat down at her desk and looked towards Mr.Montceaggio with an intrigued expression. "I'm sure you want to pursue your other dreams however, this isn't the first time you have left our department. Surely you don't expect us not to fill your seat. This is after all your second or is third departure?" Sighing softly, Gretta slouched more into her chair, it was way to early for her and she'd just left her son at the Hogwarts Express.
"Is there anything else," she said quietly and waited to J.J to speak or leave.

J.J. Starr did not expect the unusual remarks from Gretta. " Just never mind" Joe Jon Montcenaggio told Gretta. Jake had been really cool about his retiring, "Did you think I Did not know my position would be taken by someone else?" J.J. Starr asked her." I thought you were nice but I was wrong " J.J. mumbled but audible enough for Gretta to hear him

| Typo Mistress My apologies for not responding to the previous post. I will be starting anew just to be on the right track.
Arriving early at her office, Gretta tossed her belongings cautiously on her desk keeping her attention focused out the window and not towards the mounds of parchment that developed from the time she was away. "I think I'll be giving a visit to the Departments Teams today," she contemplated keeping her hands attached behind her back and eyes piercing the environment in her view.

Antigone hummed to herself as she made her way to her Division Head's office. Sigh... she was responsible for sooo many people now and she loved it! Smoothing down the front of her robes she raised her hand and knocked softly on her door and waited to be invited in.
