James made his way down hall towards The Centaur Liasion Department. He turned the knob and opened the door to his office. He crossed the room to his desk he dropped the file he carried into the the proper bin no the edge of the complusively organized desk before he pulled off his worn feild jacket and hung it over the back of his chair. He pulled some parchment from the left drawer in his desk and picked up his quill he set to work scribbling a letter across the parchement. Taking a moment to enjoy the quiet that filled the office before everyone else arrived for work. It wasn't uncommon behaviour for james to be here early and already out of the office busy at work before most even arrived for the day. It was his nature he was a boardline work-aholic. |
Jocelyn opened the door and peered. Her hair feel slightly in her face and as she was pushing back placing it behind her ear she noticed a man setting at a desk. She cleared her throat as she took a few steps inside the office. "Hi, is this the Centaur liaison office." She glanced around the room nervously as she awaited for a response. |
James looked up from his parchment and Smiled politely . " Yes Ma'am it is." he answered with a rather thick southern american accent. |

James stood out of politeness to the lady and shook her hand confidently. " James. pleasure to meet you. he said. " Well then welcome to the centaur liasion office. It's pretty quiet right now but it's still a little early." |
Jocelyn shook his hand as she thought to herself- how polite, "Nice to meet you James." She nodded her head as she glanced around the office. "Yes it seems to be rather quite." She looked back to James, "Do I detect a Geogia accent?" |
James laughed slightly. " Not far off, Alabama actually." he answered. " You familar with the area?" he asked as he let go of her hand. |
Jocelyn smiled sheepishly to herself at the fact of knowing she had once dated a guy due to his accent- Jocelyn found a southern accent th cutest thing. She tilted her head slightly side to side, "Yeah you can say. I was born and raised in America up until the time to attend school. We moved to London my first year." She gave a slight sigh, "I kind of miss it." She shock her head slightly, "Oh I am sorry to ramble- so your from Alabama- I grew up north of there." |
James smiled it is quite alright i dont mind rambling i've been known to do it a time or two myself. " Interesting i grew up there til time for school my self after graduating I returned for a while. but in the long run ended up well here." |
Jocelyn smiled, "Yes that is interesting-and even more so because we both ended up here." She laughed lightly for a moment, "I am very glad to have ended up in a Department with as nice as people working here.' She glanced around the office again noticing the desk seemed to be in pairs, "Umm do you know which one of these would be mine?" She almost found herself crossing her figures hoping it was the one near him so she knew she would be close to a friendly person. |
james scanned the room quickly his eyes roaming over the name plagues on each desk. he grinned. and pointed to the desk facing his. " looks like you gonna be stuck facing me from here on." he said |
Jocelyn gave a sigh of relief to herself as she walked over placing her bag on top of the desk. She glanced up to James and gave a joking smile, "Well I think I can bring myself to handle that." She laughed slightly for a moment, "I am only kidding- that is great." She thought to herself for a moment, "Oh by the way you can call me Joss- I go by that to most of my friends." |
" Okay Joss. it is then." he said with a smile. " Looking forward to working with you." he couldnt help but smile slightly to himself . it was nice to have someone pleasing to the eyes across from him on a daily bases. |
Jocelyn smiled as walked a few steps over and set down at her new desk. Aww- she thought to herself- very nice. She looked up at James as she pushed her set back placing her feet cross legged up on her desk. She laughed as she pulled them back down, "I am only playing - I am not the slacker type- really." She glanced down thinking to herself for a moment, "Well James- since we seem to be paired together by faith here does that mean I will also have you as a partner for field work?" She felt some what bashful as she asked so she remained to look down as she opened a drawer acting as if she was looking inside. |
" more than likely so... To be honest that desks been empty a while. so i been by my self for the most part. not that I mind having a partner." he felt an awkward blush slowly heating his cheeks and looked at his desk shuffling a few papers as if he were looking for something he couldn't find which was majorly contradicted by the obsessively neat state the desk was in. |
Jocelyn smiled at the fact that they could be partners while preforming field work. She found it nice getting to know James in the office and thought that going to field work together she would be able to get to know him even better. "Well I really would like to have you as a partner out in the field," she replied. Then at the sound of papers she looked up to James and smiled, "Did you lose something? can I help you find it?" |
" Uhh... thats okay i found it...i think" he said he answered even though he hadnt really been look for anything. This is going to interesting, you'll just have to focus on work James. doesn't matter that she's pretty.. and don't for get nice to talk to... Your a professional you can handle this. "In the feild...?" his thoughts partly floated back to reality. |
Jocelyn flashed James another smile before she started to dig in her bag for a couple things. She found herself beginning to bit her lower lip as she usually does in the presents of a guy she found nice. "Well I meant it would be nice working with you period and well especially in the field- seeing as I have no field experience." ooc- last one for the night- talk to you soon :) |
" Well... i'm sure it's going to be nice working with you too." He said smiling slightly before he looked down at the papers in front of him. " he scribbled his name on a couple glancing across the desks at joss occasionally as he dnoe so. |
Blushing slightly Jocelyn started to remove some quill and parchment from her bag placing them on her desk. She smiled to herself as thoughts of the near future ran though her mind. It had been quite for sometime and with out thinking she asked, "So are you married- kids?" Her eyes widen as soon as the words left her mouth, I can not believe you just asked him that- she thought to herself. |
James gave a slight laugh and smiled as he looked up across the desk at her. " No. no wife.. or children..." he leaned back casually in his chair and crossed his arms over his chest in an ammoused manner. " Are you?" he asked bluntly,he couldn't really help himself not to with the look on her face she seemed shocked at her self for even asking such a question and he had to admit the bright embarassed glow of her cheeks was in fact rather cute. |
Joss managed to look at James even as she was over coming the shock of what she just asked him. As she watched him look at her and lean back in his chair she bit down on her lip before a smirk came across her face. "Well- no," she said in a matter of fact tone. Even with the tone she managed to pull out of her throat she could not manage to get the color out of her cheeks or probably the look out of eyes. She smiled as she glanced back down at her open bag lying on the desk, "I see- so - umm, what other then you do then work?" |
James though for a bit honestly since his return from the states. there hadn't been very much to his life but work. " Me... I. uhhh...well the sad truth is there isnt much else about me really..." The pitiful truth was he had become a work-a-holic. but that was a different story entirely. |
