"I...see," Sapphira took the wand and placed it into the compartment in the machine. She prepared an inkwell and handed the card and a quill to the person. "I noticed the accent. Uhm, New York, perhaps?"

Card. Kensi eyed the card....hoping it wouldn't be any grueling process or anything. She had filled out enough stuff in the past week to last a LIFETIME. "Good...nice and short..." she muttered to herself.

Sapphira pressed some buttons on the machine. It shiverred a bit, then the wand came out of the compartment. She never liked the shiverring part, because she's quite afraid that the wand would come out broken or something.

She took the wand and handed it back to the owner. "Here you go," she said wth a smile.

Kensi made a very clear face as the thing ATE HER WAND! She looked shocked, and downright angry for a second...but then it spit it out, and it looked fine. Good. Or a very FURIOUS KENSINGTON would have been released into the ministry...

"Eh, thanks. Am I free to go? This whole thing is done?" she asked, a bit confused. Seriously? She just needed to get her wand checked? Why was this NECESSARY?!?

Merlin's beard this place is huge!

Aiden came in through the Atrium and couldn't help but let his mouth drop. His new job was on the third level but he had to pass through a security check point before he could go on. The entrance to the Ministry had been impressive and the rest of the Ministry was proving the same.

His green eyes spied the security desk and sauntered over. He didn't see anyone manning the desk at the moment. Aiden cleared his throat loudly and waited to see if someone would show up.

Nath walked slowly to the checkpoint. He looked to the woman guard and grinned slowly. He pulled his wand from the wrist holster and placed it with the others.

Reason of being here: Heading into the Atrium to return to work.

He turned to the nervous looking girl (Kensi) and smiled amiably, "This your first day here miss?"

Kensi turned her head sharply at the sound a voice. A man, older by the look of him, had just spoken to her. She smirked, raising her eyebrows. "No need to call me 'miss.' I should be calling you sir," she said with a small chuckle. "And yes, first day...quite anxious, actually..." she began to twirl her wand absentmindedly between her fingers.

"Is it yours?" Because if it was, he was a brave man indeed. He didn't look nervous...in fact, he looked a bit routine. Hmph.

"Welcome then! May your first day be blessed!"

Nathaniel laughed heartily as he watched his wand get passed throug hthe machine. "No ma'am this is hardly my first day in the famed Ministry of Magik, though I have been away for quite some time." His gaze turned sad for but a moment. "But I have returned from the dark lands, and here I stand. So what makes you want to work for the ministry?"

Kensi laughed, glad that he was a nice guy...since he kinda' looked scuuuurrrrrrry.

Away? Why would anyone go away? Kensi had so many questions already! Ah! "Well, welcome back, I suppose!" she said, eyeing him suspiciously. DARK LANDS? Kensi cocked an eyebrow...he did have an air of mysteriousness to him.

And this is what made Kensi like him. It's not like she hadn't ever done anything 'dark' before. Hmmph. "Dark lands? Sounds like an adventure..." indeed. She thought about how to answer his question without giving him her entire life story...hmm..

"I needed to escape America, where I'm from...not literally," but somewhat literally, but she wasn't going to say this aloud, her business was HER business. "I just needed a change of color. I got bored," she sighed. Bored didn't cover half of it. Blaaah.

Nathaniel smiled, she seemed to be a nice well meaning girl, and seemed well spirited. "An adventure it was indeed, and hopefully my last, there are things there that would turn even your fair face as aged and wretched as mine. Dark magic does terrible things to the soul."

America....

"America, I was there once, in the days of my youth, I and a few others from the Federation conducted several missions there.....Before your time.." He laughed coldly, "So boredom brings you to the United Kingdom, I am glad it did not lead you elsewhere..."

Kensi was always up for an adventure...even if it was to a 'dark land.' Uh-huh. the strawberry-blonde, however, touched her face as he spoke. Did he call her fair? Was that a compliment? eh, whatever. "dark magic? You've dabbled with..." she lowered her voice, and her green eyes glistened, "with dark stuff?" how interesting, really. The twenty-five year old had never exactly done dark magic...seen it done, but never had she experienced it first hand. Her curiosity was causing her to not hold her tongue...as was usual.

Federation? Before he time? He sounded old. But he didn't look more than twenty years older than she...hmm. "Well, it was between here and Australia. And I decided here...because...well...I have always wanted to live in Britain." It was the truth. It had been hard, leaving her family behind, her sister, but she had to do it, and for more reasons than one.

Nathaniel ran his hand over the scars on his arms, "Yes I have done Dark magic, seen it done, and have had it done to me. Such is the way of the Russian Federation, that I used to work for..." She sounded curious so he led her on a bit farther, though he lowered his voice so the security could not hear, "If you wish to learn something that you don't learn in the Salem school or bloody Hogwarts, I can teach you."

"Did you leave your family behind? Do you miss them?"

Kensi was so surprised that a stranger would reveal all of this to her...hmm. Curious, indeed. She was young, but far from naive. Did he want something from her? Her mind was getting the best of her. "Russians, eh? Hear they're a rough crowd..." she commented, speaking only from what she had heard from the American ministry. The Russians were a tough bunch. Kensi thought the country seemed...too extreme for her.

She laughed at his lowered voice, and the words he said with the voice. "I work for the MLE here, and I don't think they'd like that too much..." she said, jokingly, with an evil smirk. "But something I learned back in the States...I used to protect a family from dark wizards...and, well, sometimes you gotta' have friends in low places, if you know what I mean," she said, her voice equally as low. Her eyes flashed. "Connections, ya know, fighting fire with fire..." enough said!

At his next query, she smiled warmly. "I did, yes. Just mom, dad, and sister. But my sister is thinking of making the move...she's a healer. Complete opposite of me...all kind and bubbly..." she snickered. Emma was twenty-seven, also a redhead and green eyes. But the two were polar opposites. of course, Kensi and Emma were best friends. "I left a note on my parents' table. I didn't want to make them upset..." she had done it without warning, too...obviously, they were very upset anyways. "Yes, I miss them. but this is all for the best..." really, it was.

Nathaniel nodded, "We are quite the group, dark and evil, you may say." He looked to her badge and laughed, "Kensi, the department of magical law enforcement is a wonderful place to work. Though I must say, the Dark Arts are not appreciated here. But when you are confronted by a Death Eater without backup who isn't afraid to use the darkest of spells, do you think the spells they teach in hogwarts will help you? You cannot block these spells, as you said, you must fight fire with fire."

"It is always sad to leave family behind, but do not be too sad, for they yet live. Do you have many friends here?"

Kensi nodded, pretty much in agreement. Did Death Eaters still exist? she supposed they did...probably. Or some other dark group. Dark people would always be around, right? "Yes...you're right..." and then, she realized with a jolt...SHE DIDN'T KNOW HIS NAME. She had been speaking to him for a good while, and he was NAMELESS. How shameful!

"My, my, we forgot to introduce ourselves...how rude..." she said with a smirk. She held out a hand, her long fingernails painted a blood red, and said, "Kensington Whitworth, at your service!" But not really, 'cuz I don't work for you... "Please, call me Kensi. Kensingtoon is too...lofty for me." Darn parents giving her a really long, snobby name.

His name question made her roll her eyes. "No! I have hardly made one single friend...one guy at the new tattoo parlor, Chase, but that's about it! " she cried, her tone sounding more annoyed than anything.

Nath nodded politely, what a beautiful name! "Kensington is quite a pretty name, it is old fashioned. In fact I quite like it, but Kensi is quite fine as well." He took her hand, glancing at the blood red nails. A symbol of evil and sin in some cultures, but she was a Yank.

"If you dislike your name since it is so long, then you are in for quite the treat. My full name is Nathaniel Mickhail Volshti of the Royal house of Corun. But you can call me Nathan!"

"No, don't get me wrong, I like my name. It's quite unique. I just...Kensi is just so much easier to say," she replied with a smile and sigh. He had a nice, firm handshake. Showed character, that did. Kensi could tell a lot by a person's handshake...her father was one of those handshake type people. Men and their handshakes...sheesh.

Nathaniel. Too long already, and he had only said his first name! Kensi's eyes widened. "Wow. That is long!" she exclaimed. "I like it though, Nathan. Pleasure to meet you!" she said, shooting him a smirk. "And royal...you're a king or something?" she asked, not really serious. of course he wasn't a king; what king would work? If Kensi was a queen, she sure as heck wouldn;t be working!

Nathan laughed heartily as they retrieved their wands from the rather annoyed looking employee. Why anyone would work rule enforcement here was beyond him. Too many silly people here in the United Kingdom's ministry. Back home he had worked security and assassination missions. Silly agents didn't make it. He had talked to too many mothers and wives of fallen agents to want to see any of these people come into contest with what they called 'Death Eaters.' All you would need is several squads of Russian Spectral Agents, and this ministry could be taken. But back to the situation at hand.

"I am not royalty per se, I come from an old wizarding house. Back in the days before the Great War, we were attached to the Romanovs, for they were our liege lords. May they and theirs rest forever in peace." He lowered his head, thinking of all the friends he had lost.

"Do you wish to perhaps go to lunch? I do have a great bit of money after all. And I could show you a bit of the sites around this blasted place."

Kensi was a bit overwhelmed with all of his talk...they didn't have these old families in America like she had heard over here. America was just a much younger county than Britain or Russia. "I've heard of the Romanovs..." very infamous family, is she remembered correctly. "Anastasia...and that whole story, right?" she was wracking her brains a bit, but she thought she may have remembered rightly...but who knows.

Lunch? Kensi checked her watch...she did have a good bit of time before she had work..."Sure! But where...in Diagon? Or those muggle places around here?" she asked, tilting her head to the side. She laughed, a bit mischievously, when he said he was wealthy. Of course, Kensi had made a good bit of money before she came here, but that was her own private affairs. She tried to shift her position without making her pocket jingle too much... heeheee. "I could use lunch a tour guide, thank you very much, Nathan," she so wanted to call him 'sir.' But she held back. He might take it the wrong way. Hmph.

Nathan was a cool guy...and wealthy? And mysterious. How interesting a person for her to meet!

"Well then" began Nathaniel, "Lets head to a muggle place..."

He took her arm politely and escorted her to the exit.

She had been up earlier than normal this morning preparing for her first day at the Ministry. Although GinaMarie was confident in her working abilities she was still nervous to begin her new career path. She had tried to relieve her nervousness by emptying her purse and organizing everything inside. When that failed, she took to polishing her favorite pen.

Here she was, GinaMarie was ready for her day to begin. She approached the security check point promptly with her wand out, ready for business to be conducted and she could be on her way. She was early to report, but she still wanted to make sure everything on her part would go smoothly and as quick as possible.

Weeeeell, it would only be right that they were both handicapped for wands, no? His right hand was carrying his briefcase, and her hand was in his. It was a fair deal and one that would save him until his office, at least.

He opened his mouth to answer her, but was distracted by the... officer there. They apparently had to stop to get his wand checked. He raised his eyebrows at his Law enforcement girlfriend, didn't let go of her hand and put down his bag. He drew his wand and offered it to the officer there.

"What are the chances of my slipping in an unrecorded wand?" Y'know, just out of curiosity that NO ONE but Aspen should be able to hear.

"Fairly good," Aspen shrugged, but it was.... that sort of shrug... that came with an attachment of danger. She turned her head to smile at him, before adding, "if you're willing to trust me."

He probably wasn't, he probably shouldn't, but she was fairly certain she could get him and his wand through unchecked. Aspen looked at him, head cocked, half wondering if Neves HAD a second wand. She made another mental note to find out.

And THAT one she could even call work. The Minister's new PA with an unchecked second wand sounded DANGEROUS.

She passed her wand through the checkpoint as well, no nods, looks, or smiles exchanged with security wizard.

João laughed shortly and recklessly. He didn't comment, though. It wasn't the first thing to do on his list, but it was useful information too. One never knew what was lying ahead in life, after all.

He frowned in confusion when Aspen passed her wand too. "Please don't tell me I have to do this every day." He wasn't whining so to speak, but he was about to groan as he got his wand back.
