Environmental Work Room The Environmental work room has undergone a complete renovation during the Ministry break. It now resembles a bright, open and airy loft space with a orange accent wall at the back of the space. The separate desks are all gone, replaced by two long white tables with nothing but very short separators dividing the various divisions. At the front of the room is another white table containing a coffee pot, paper cups and small individual packets of creamer, sugar, stirrers and napkins. Beside this table is the entry from the reception area, which has been sealed off with a clear glass door to prevent those pesky creatures from making their way over. It is also neater than one might expect, thanks to the department head's new rule regarding the cleanliness of one's shoes (believe me, it was needed). Along one wall, you'll find (in order) the entrances to: the Department Head's office, the greenhouse and the storage room. But don't expect to just able to go waltzing into these rooms. If you're not an employee of the department, you must be accompanied by an employee in order to visit the greenhouse and storage room. OOC: Any Ministry employee is welcome to play here, with special consideration given those who are a part of Magical Law Enforcement, Accidents & Catastrophes or Mysteries. ;) |
Kaishu walked into his new work space and immediately set to unpacking his briefcase and decorating his desk. No, not decorating for that it what housewives did on Sundays. No, he was... accessorizing his work space. There...that sounded much more masculine. On the upper right corner, he placed a framed picture of his late wife. Underneath her angelic smile were the last words she had ever written on a piece of paper given to her by one of the doctors minutes before she had passed. Kaishu had been called away on another emergency by the hospital he worked for as a Healer, and hadn't been by her side. It was something that he would forever regret...and something his son would most likely never forgive him for. On the opposide of the photograph, he set his CD filled briefcase and examined the other desks in the area wondering when he would get to meet his Jr. and Senior Rangers. They deserved some sort of treat for their new shift begging, right? Grinning from ear to ear, he began to place a signed CD on each of their desks. Having completed this, he returned to his seat, sat down, and began reading over the various documents that had been placed there. His ranger hat hung around his neck on his back. He had to look fashionable in this position, but that did not mean he would wear it on his head. Imagine the damage it could do to his hair! |
Damon walked into employee work room, noticing the brown dust marks that covered his black boots. Good thing he didn't have any issues with dirt or grim or this would be a job from hell. Seeing that the small cluster of desks for the recycling commissioners were still all open, Damon plopped down his back pack and took a seat in the swivel chair. Damon wasn't really one for decorating, or should he say making his desk more aesthetically pleasing. Opening up his back pack he took out his quill and ink, setting it down at the one corner of his desk, before pulling out a picture of him and Katerina and setting it down at the other corner. Next was his black calender that he placed right in the center of his desk. What more could he need, right? Damon noticed another individual had come to set up his things as well, a Ranger from the look of it. Deciding it didn't hurt to get acquainted with the other members of the department, Damon slid out of his chair and calmly walked over to the man. "Hey, my name is Damon. Seeing as we're going to be Department buddies I thought it wouldn't hurt to introduce myself." Damon extended out his hand warmly. |
Kaishu looked up from his accessorizing and noticed and young man who looked to be around the same age as his son. "Hello there little sir," he practically sang grabbing the boy's hand and giving him a firm but friendly hand shake. "Pleasure to meet you Damon. Names Kaishu, Kaishu Shiradou." He removed his sunglasses and flipped his hair a bit - it was his signature after all. A confident smirk on his face, he looked at Damon and expected some sort of starstuck look on the boy's face, but, when that didn't happen, his smirk faded into a fatherly smile. "I'm the new Director of Environmental Rangers. Just transferred from the Japanese Ministry." His eyes flicked to the stack of CDs on his desk that hadn't managed to make there way to the other desks in the room just yet, Damon's being among them. |
Quote:
Ahh...so he wasn't from around here either. "Japan, huh? I've never been but I hear that it is an amazing place. I'm actually from the States myself, and was transferred from the Ministry there. Have you always worked in the Environment Department?" Damon himself had worked in the Transportation Department, but he was glad that he would be able to pursue his love of plants now. There was nothing more soothing than being around nature! Damon noticed that he kept looking at the pile of CDs on his desk. "If you don't mind me asking, what are those?" Damon asked, nonchalantly waving a hand at the stack of CDs. |
Joey walk into the work room She was ready to work. She need to meet other people she worked with. She had a cup of Lemon tea and a donut in her hand.Hello I'm Joey Eventide i'm junior plant removal agent. |

He looked back at Damon and a boyish grin appeared on his face. "Naw, before I was the Assistant Head of the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office. You can probably guess, but it is amazing some of the things wizards will come up with. One bloke had enchanted a muggle vacuum to sing the time time and insult whoever walked by it and then plopped it right in the middle of a muggle electronics store." He chuckled and shook his head to toss his hair around a bit. "But, I delved into other areas of work," he winked flicking his eyes towards the CDs in question and picking one of them up and handing it to the kid. Perhaps he had heard of them? "My best mate and I formed the band back when we were both in Hogwarts. We had an American Tour back during out peak," he sighed. "Those were the golden days." "What about you, little sir? You always been the Environmental type?" Kaishu asked eyeing the boy's hair. Judging from the looks of it...that seemed to be the case. He tried not to wrinkle his nose at the poor hair particles that were craving a good avocado moose bath. |
A bit of humidity poured from the greenhouses as the door slid open, allowing Rafael to step silently into the work room. He'd heard his employees arriving and had ceased working temporarily to see how they were fairing. Frowning down at the dirt that clung to his boots, he stepped off to the side of the greenhouse entrance and glanced back up at the three Environmental Employees, and just... observed them. |
Quote:
Didn't there people realize what humidity could do to one's hair?! Looking around the little sir he was talking to, Kaishu recognized the man from the orientation pamphlet he had received on his position. Better go up and introduce himself "Good day," Kaishu said holding his tongue before he said little sir to the gentleman. He did, however, flip his hair. |
Jasmine was walking into the office, it was her first day on the job and she was a bit nervous for it. It did seem quite humid in here, good thing her hair was in a tight bun. She saw employees there already and was kind of shy and blushed and sat at her desk. |
Mind him. The rather large man melodramatically entered the room, still at awe from this whole Ministry thing. WHAT DID IT MEAN?!?! That was right. He was here for one mission and one mission only; to educate the bright, young people of this Wizarding World to be more like... well... him! Love and nurture nature and of course, as a proud hippie, today, he was dressed in very colorful clothing. It was a bit formal, but he knew that nature was calling him and told him to show everyone his love for the beautiful world. He had on a white, plain, long-sleeved shirt and a tie (because he honestly did want to keep it professional)... a tie that was obviously multi-colored into the colors of the wonderful rainbow. Did he wear matching colorful and bright pants? No, he wore matching colorful and bright shorts. They were quite short shorts. But not that short. But you get what I mean. He stopped. Pause. Whoah. The room. Just look at it. It was so wonderfully green... and natureful... and his eyes immediately sparkled. Then his eyes met the ground. THE WONDERFULLY-SOILED GROUND! He bent over, with effort from his large body, and then scooped up a few of the soil. "Beautiful," he stated and then tears were starting to form in his eyes. And he sniffed the wood-scented air. "BEAAAAAUTIFU--," WHEEZE, "U-U--UULLL," he cried in utter glee and then--just then, a tear of wonder and amazement escaped through his eyes. Oh MOTHER NATURE was here--IN THIS VERY ROOOOOOOM--and he worshiped... everything!!! And he stopped again, noticing that there were people in the room. Ooooh. Perfect timing! See, what were in his big, large hands were sunflowers. There were many. It represented HAPPYSUNSHINE&RAINBOWS! He walked swiftly to the first man he met, he looked the same age as him. Oh my. What LOVELY AND LUMINOUS HAIR! Rain almost had the urge to touch it. BUT NO! Mother Nature called him back and reminded him of the DANGEROUS EXPOSURES THAT HAIR CARE PRODUCTS DID TO THE ENVIRONMENT! So he paused. Stepped back. "Hello, I am Rainbow, you can call me Rain, here is a loooovely sunflower for you, sir!" He handed the man a small sunflower, frowning at him for having such perfect hair. And then he did the same for a man--"Hello, my name's Rain, HERE'S A SUNFLOWER!" And then a woman--"Sunflower for youuuu, lovely missus!" And then another man--which he thought was the person who ran this whole thing because he just looked like it. "Hi. I'm Rainbow. You probably already know me, am I right? Call me Rain--by the way, your boots smell simply LOVELY, sir." Oh what beautifully dirt-covered boots... And then finally to another woman--"Sunflower for you, madame." |

Damon gave a little nod as Kaishu told him what the CDs were. "That's pretty awesome," Damon said with a smile. "I don't really listen to much music, other than simple piano or classical pieces, but I'd be willing to give it a listen if you'd like?" Damon smiled at the man warmly, not wanting to reach out and just take a CD, but kindly letting him know that if he wanted to give him one, Damon would accept it. Damon couldn't help but run a hand through his somewhat shaggy hair as Kaishu shot it a somewhat concerned look. "I actually worked in the Department of Transportation back in the states, which was nice since I got to do a lot of sight seeing, but really it wasn't my kind of thing. I've always loved plants, gardening, hiking...things like that. So, needless to say I was quite happy when I found out they were hiring. I was going to wait until after work to go into my garden this morning, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to give my plants some watering before I left. A stray gnome, which I'm still not sure where he's come from, threw some soil at my head when I wasn't paying attention. I got most of it out, but I was in a bit of a hurry...guess there's nothing wrong with a little bit of soil dust when you'll be working near the greenhouses, right?" Damon gave out a nervous little chuckle. He kept good hygiene: he smelled good, dressed in a very quiet rocker way, but it was true that he didn't always mind the dirt that came with working outdoors. |
Quote:
"Thank you," he said in a mellow tone as he scratched the back of his head and shifted his gaze to the rubbish bin in the corner. "Pleasure to meet you...Rain," he said after a few moments of silence as he watched the man practically twirl as he handed out sunflowers to everyone else. "Names Kaishu, the new Director of Environmental Rangers." Quote:
SPOILER!!: Damon "Well, you may find a ballad or two on here," he grinned as he insisted the lad take the CD from him. "We were one of the more wild wiardrock bands of the day, so some of those tracks may end up blowing a whole in your wall." Literally. As Damon spoke, Kaishu just couldn't STOP looking at the boy's hair...especially the section that had a rather large glop of dirt plastered to what he was sure were very handsome looking fibers. "No...nothing wrong with it at all," he half smiled still eyeing that ONE spot on the boy's head. Nothing wrong unless you are DAMAGING HAIR! Unable to stand it any more, Kaishu pulled out his own chair from his desk and rolled it right up behind the boy, knocking him in the back of the knees so he would collapse into the chair. "Sorry kid, I just can't bear to see such potential go to waste," he said in a rather serious tone as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a black bottle that he then snapped the top off of. "I promise, it is made from all natural ingredients and no strange chemicals have been used. Just a dash of magic," he explained taking a glance at the hippy gorilla. Without wasting another moment, Kaishu dumped some of the green contents onto the boy's head and began massaging it into his scalp. The room suddenly exploded with the fragrance of avocado and strawberries. |

The Spaniard watched in silence as his Environmental Rangers Director made his way over, brow raising at the hair flip. Interesting fellow. "No complaints so far." Rafa offered his hand. "I take it your, Kaishu Shiradou." It wasn't a question. He only had one rock star in his Department that he knew of. Quote:
SPOILER!!: RAIIIIIIINBOOOOOW And then there was this fellow. This fellow that had Rafael raising both eye brows as he watched the man make a scene of sniffing the dirt that seemed to cover the ground and... sniffing the air? Well he couldn't fault him for that, he too loved the smell in the room. He wasn't even given time to think about the man's attire as he suddenly began handing out sunflowers. Hm. He certainly had a interesting bunch working for him. "Rain," he mused, accepting the sunflower with his free hand to give it an speculative sniff. Hm. "Good to meet you. Call me Rafael." Or variants of that. He would have voiced this if Rain hadn't made the comment about his boots. Rafa glanced down at them. "Greenhouse... I'm sure it's more than soil." Probably a bit of moon calf dung mixed in there, and obviously it didn't bother him the least bit. And then the man was off handing out more sunflowers, giving Rafa time to consider his attire. And his demeanor. And the sunflowers. Was he going to do any work today, or was this day simply for meet and greets? |
Quote:
"And you must be Mr. Delgado," he replied with a wink and a little more of hair flipping. |
u r all beautiful ppl These people were so professional. Rain stared at this one. His name was Kaishu? Whatever, he was the one with all that beautiful hair. Just look at Rain's hair, however. Long, wild hair, very untamed, very rough--he hadn't used any hair care products until FAAAAAR over ten years ago, maybe?! But the man did mention that he didn't use any of those disgusting chemicals that killed the planet. For which the short plumpy man praised but his eyes were immediately GLUED to the event he'd just witnessed. Oh my. OH MY! What was he doing to that man's head?! He put a hand to his mouth in surprise and horror when he--...oh he was just shampooing. Okay. Okay. As long as it didn't kill the poor unicorns! Or touched his own head of hair. But it smelled very natureful, which caused his mind to backtrack and get distracted, as he took a very large inhalation. Avocado? Strawberries? Whatever, it just lingered of pure heavenly delight. "Smells... quiiiiiite nice over there, Kaishu," he said hesitantly, as he licked his lips. He obviously wasn't going to eat the thing. And to counter-attack this Kaishu, Rain did a hair-flip of his own towards the man, his rusty, poor-smelling hair whipping towards the man. And so, he whipped his hair. Back and forth. After hair-flipping, he turned away and met the eyes of this boss of his. AHHH YES! The lovely boots. Rain observed it, staring at it for a very long time, trying to distinguish the many particles that had stuck upon it. Surely that was some moon-calf dung, yes? It was oh so shiny and sparkly and he just looked back at the boots, then at Rafael, then back at the boots, and then finally towards Rafael. "Pleasure to meet you, Rafael. Well? How are you? Has Mother Nature embraced your innards yet?" He wanted to know if this man was... boss-material. HMM??? Hmmmm. |
hehe, your guys are SILLY Quote:
"That I am, please call be Rafael though." He didn't care to explain his name at the moment with more pressing matters at hand. "Before we continue with our pleasantries, I must make a request," he pointed at the man's hair. "While that looks nice, and I'm sure it takes work to keep it that way, I must ask you to refrain from doing any hair while in the work room. We have bathrooms for that." To say it was weird telling this to a man, and not a woman was an understatement. And the wink was just... well, lets just say he had his hands full with this one. Quote:

Xd Kaishu cocked his head at the man who honestly looked like he belong more in Planet of the Apes than in a Ministry office. Something smelled good? Well that was a relief considering Rain smelled like a wet water buffalo. "Shiradou secret recipe," he said as he continued to massage the boy's head to make sure that every single strand of hair got a thick coating of the avocado moose. "Will of vitimin C for maintaining hair health and biotin as an anti aging agent by preventing graying of hair and hair loss." Kaishu returned to his hair treatment when all of a sudden something that would make dragon dung smell like roses whacked him in the side of the face. MERLIN'S PANTIES! HIS SKIN! Kaishu was going to strangle monkey man if his skin started peeling off the same way wallpaper did when some putrid smell seeped seeped into it. "Perhaps you ought to try it sometime," he said trying to keep his tone pleasant. Then his attention was drawn to Rafael who was telling him that hair care was not for the work place. While he begged to differ, Kaishu was willing to put the man's obvious hair envy to the side and fulfill the man's wishes. However, he did frown at being told to use a bathroom of all places. They were so cramped and the lighting was terrible. "I'll keep that in mind," he said with a wobbly salute. |
Hehe. Quite an interesting first day for Damon! Quote:
Damon, who was beginning to feel himself pull back into his quiet mode now that more people were arriving, was taken aback when suddenly his body was being forced into a chair. Hearing Kaishu, but not really understanding what was happening, Damon swung around to see what he was trying to do. Before he could get out a word a rather large glop of something that felt freezing cold landed on his hand. Damon reached up to feel what it was but it was no use since Kaishu had begun to mix it around in his hair. Why on earth did the room suddenly smell like strawberries? Damon had looked to the side to see what the others were making of this whole incident, and the look upon Rain's face certainly didn't make him feel better about the situation. And, to make matters worse, Damon was now aware that the Department Head was in the room. "Er...what exactly are you doing to my head?" Damon mumbled out of the side of his mouth to Kaishu. Getting his hair done at work was not exactly what he had imagined happening the first day of work. Upon hearing Rafael ask Kaishu to not do his hair in the workplace Damon quickly stood up from the chair, whipping his wand out of his jacket pocket, and giving his head a thorough sweep. The shampoo was gone, and his hair was back to its shaggy, just rolled out of bed look, although the dirt was completely gone, and every time Damon moved his head a fresh waft of Strawberry hit him. "Hi Mr. Belmonte," Damon said, extending his hand out to the Department Head. "I just wanted to say how glad I am to be working in your Department." |
Stepping into the work room, Elias took in a deep breath. Immediately, his nose was filled with the aromas of various plants and soils. Ahh, just like home. Looking down at his feet, he even saw that there was dirt strewn along on the floor in some places. Yup. Just like home. Taking several more steps into the area, the man spotted that he wasn't much out of place here. Clad in worn-in jeans and a decent button down shirt, along with some sort of patterned moccassins Caroline had insisted on getting him for his birthday- he really wasn't much of a sore thumb. Whew. At least that was a good sign. Giving the room at last survey, Elias slipped off towards one of the desks. He took a seat and ran his hands over the top. It was so... empty. And obviously, him being so full of first day jitters, he'd completely forgotten to bring anything to spice up his working conditions. Not that they weren't incredible already. Reaching into his jacket, he pulled out the note his daughter had tucked into his pocket that morning. He smiled, and took out his wand, temporarily fixing it to the desk top. There, very homey. SPOILER!!: Caroline's note |
A twinkle in his eyes. Mother Nature gave a head nod towards this man--this man that was to be called his boss. YES! YES! The young people in this department were so loving with the nature and he contemplated whether he should let them join his conquest in spreading peace and love around the world! PEACE!&LOOOOOVE! He had a harmonious epiphany, forming a wiiiiiide grin in front of his new boss. "Mother Nature LOVES me sir! She LOVES me! Oh we're the best of friends, did you know that? Sometimes," he paused hesitantly but decided to go on, "Mother Nature speaks in my very mind. Sometimes, she's angry. Sometime's, she's quite happy! But I live for her voice, do you know what I mean, Rafael?! WE ARE COMBINED AS ONE MYSTICAL BEING!" The twinkle formed even brighter, wanting to make a speech about this whole Rainbow/Mother-nature creature that was releasing out into the world--BORN FROM THE DEPTHS OF MOTHER NATURE'S WOMBS! Alas, he stopped himself, wanting to save this little speech for later on. "So is there work on the first day of the job, sir?" he questioned excitedly. He turned his head toward the Kaishu again, eyeing him with... a very straight-forward stare. Why was he looking at him like that? Hmm?! Rain felt a bit uncomfortable, as he massaged that man's scalp with the shampoo, or whatever it was! Not a drop best be on his head or else MOTHER NATURE WILL UNLEASH FUUUUUURYYYY WITHIN THE ROOM! But not him! No, he supported peace and nonviolence, but the Mother Nature inside him did not want anything on his beautiful untamed hair of his. And he took a piece of his hair, twirling it in front of Kaishu ever so playfully, emphasizing his ROUGH and UNCLEAN hair, it was packed with the scent of nature and thus, the smell of strawberries and avocados would utterly interfere with the arrange of other smells from Mother Nature herself! Hmph. But that was the farthest he could go with this little silent hair battle that the two shared. "No thanks, Kaishu. I rarely use shampoo. Just look at my hair. Isn't it pretty already?" he said, quite innocently in a torturous way. Hehe. He saw another man walk in the room who seemed to be ready for work, and so, Rain gently threw a sunflower towards that desk of his. |
Quote:
"Thank you very much," he said appreciatively. They had quite a few back in the garden at home, some of them not nearly as large as this one had grown to be. Then again, some of them were larger. They were all beautiful just the same. Lauren liked sunflowers. Caroline liked globe thistles, as spiny as they were. Honestly, their whole family had a flower obsession, thus their humongous garden. Spring time was especially fun, seeing as that was when the did most of their planting. And of course, cooking with the vegetables in the fall was fun and tasty. |

*jumps in* Aha, there it was. He knocked his knuckles against the top of it, just for the sake of doing so, then dropped his worn messenger bag onto it. Really, there wasn't much in there - a couple quills and some ink, a notebook, and two books that pertained to - surprise, surprise - potions and plants. Already bored of the whole desk thing, he turned away from it and ambled over to where several of his new co-workers were off chatting it up. "Hey," he greeted with a nod. He noted the sunflowers that each of them seemed to have and the way that the one guy kept twirling his rough hair as if it were something to show off. But Harper didn't question it. This was the environmental department, after all - surely, it would be loaded with crazies and women who neglected to shave their armpits. Right, anyway.. Might as well get the introduction bit over with. "I'm Noah Harper, though I just go by Harper... I recently got the senior botanist job." |
sorry this took so long *gives you all flowers* Quote:
A belated finger went to the can of hairspray. "That goes for the hairspray too." Quote:

Instead he focused on the small speech the man was giving that could be compared to the ones he'd received from the lad by the fountain if they hadn't been so joyful and just a bit more poetic. Maybe more than a bit. "I am glad you and Mother Nature are so well acquainted, Rain." He nodded his head, amusement present. Ah, what he had been hoping to hear from one of his heads. Work talk. "Right now I would like you to get settled in and acquainted with those who are in your division. Make sure they know their stuff and if not..." He shrugged. Rain liked to educate, right? He'd let the man educate those who worked under him first. Though they should ALREADY be well educated, Rafa didn't hire anything less than the best. ... "That goes for all of you." He spoke a bit louder so the entire office could hear. "Get to know those in your division that are here, whether you head it or not. We are currently spread a bit thin as this is a new Department still in the process of hiring, so some of you might not have a head or others in your division. If that is the case then you will report directly to me and together we'll get whatever work that needs to be done, done." His eyes swept the room as he took a pause. "When that is done, I will be giving out work as it arrives." A dismissive wave of his hand had him sending them off to do work. Except the Harper character. He could stay and Rafa would give him a tour of the greenhouse. |
