The classroom is once again in it's usual state, desks and chairs in their little rows. That's becoming the norm, eh? So far this term....
Professor Magnus is sat on the edge of her desk, hands in her lap and ankles crossed. On her head is a hat, placed at a jaunty angle. On each desk she has put a simple square of material. It's white and cotton, and very plain. Can you guess what you'll be doing with it?

Dylan was in a bit of a mood...but that alone wasn't going to interfere with attending this class.
Entering the Transfiguration classroom, he immediately moved to take a seat. Glancing briefly towards the front, he noticed their Professor was wearing a very fetching hat. He was a fan of hats...Yes, he was.
Noticing the cloth on the table in front of him, he mused his hair before smirking.
Transfiguration class...A misplaced hat...A piece of fabric? Pfft. They were OBVIOUSLY going to be changing the cloth into a hat.
Obviously...
"Hello, Professor."

Blue skipped in the doors and stopped in her tracks. Professor Magnus had ze coolest hat EVA on. GIMMEGIMMEGIMME. WHY did people keep wearing really awesome things that Blue now wanted? Gosh, be more considerate. How was Blue suppose to consentrate on transfiguring things when all she could think about was how she wanted to snatch that hat off Professor Magnus' head! Hmf.
"Hello Professor Magnus." Polite smile. Blue glanced around before beaming and sitting next to her bestie. She flashed him a smile before looking at the sheet of fabric on her desk.
Free hankerchiefs, maybe?
Naah, they were gonna make HATS.
Could she get the rag cloth in a different colour, pwease?
Lalalalalalalaaaa! Sophie liked this Transfiguration! It was just as cool as Charms! Yeees! Lerning new spells was always GREAT! And she was absolutely always readyyyyy!!!
Entering the room, her gaze went from the cotton squares on the desks to the older witch sitting at her own desk. "Hello, professor Magnus!" Sophei couldn't recall seeing the professor wearing a hat before. Interesting...
She took a seat and stared down at the white thingy in front of her. COOL! She was readyyyyyyyy!! She could change the colour later, right?
Now Laura hadn't been to this lesson since last term after a few minor incidents had happened, which wasn't her fault but the Professor had seemed to have blamed her, but she had found the courage to come to the lesson today and that was only because she could sit next to her sister. "Hi Professor."

All of this explained the wide smile she wore as she entered the classroom, stopping to greet Professor Magnus before finding a seat. "Hey Professor, cool hat." Hmm...maybe they'd be making their own hats today?
The little blonde found a seat in the middle of the room and took out her wand, a quill, and some parchment. Then she waited to see if any of her friends would be joining her.

He entered the classroom and immediately went to the Professor who was seated on her desk. "Hello Professor" he smiled with a bow and a wave of his hand "Nice hat"
He then moved to one of the desks at the front while pushing up his glasses and looked at the material on his desk with a slight frown. What were they going to do today?
No, wait. He should ask which student would be frozen today..

"Good day Professor Magnus." the Ravenclaw greeted her politely with a small nod of his head. His eyes goes to the hat briefly and smiled. He cant tell if the Professor was following a fashion trend, and Vickers has realized long ago that fashion and him werent exactly good bedfellows.
He took a seat at his usual desk then picked up the corner of the white material, rubbing it between his fingers. "Cotton cloth?..." he mumbled curiously.

"Hello Professor Magnus , I love the awesome fedora you are wearing." Nigel said happily as he walked over a empty seat seeing that there is a simple square of material. on his desk. It's white and cotton, and very plain. So maybe they will be transfiguring it into something today.

Selena greeted giving the professor a quick wave before noticing the hat. Totally not as COOL as wearing a pygmy puff but it was still cool. "Nice hat." Still not a pygmy puff though.
Selena took a seat at a desk with the thingy on it. She poked it with her finger. Ooh, soft. Well, it was a square piece of fabric. Maybe they'd be making cool bandanas or something. Perhaps they'd be drawing on it! The piece of fabric was white after all. She would draw a pygmy puff on hers. Obviously.

He noticed the cloth on the surface of the wood but was only mildly curious as to the future of said cloth. Heading for the desk next to Vickers, she even managed to give Professor Magnus a smile. "Good day, Professor Magnus," she said, settling into the seat and taking out things for taking notes. She may as well be prepared, even if she was basically just waiting to see if anything was going to happen. She left the parchment in her lap, however, as she noticed the cloth on her desk. A handkerchief?, she wondered, fingering it lightly with one hand as she set her ink carefully down on the desk next to it. There were any number of things they could be doing with that.

She wasn't used to wearing a hat. So this was quite strange. Isabelle was beginning to like it though, so resolved to keep the one she had on and wear it more often. And it seemed that the kids approved of her choice of head wear as well. "Thank you very much," she found herself saying to nearly all of them as they complimented her on it.
And they all said hello as well, which she responded to with a cheery "Good morning, nice to see you. I'm very well, thank you," of her own. Not only good to see them, but good to see they were moving. After what happened in her first class, and to Hecate in her lesson, Issy was slightly worried something would happen here. Always be prepared for the worst.
As she watched them all eyeing their piece of material, she got the feeling a few of them had worked out what they would be doing today, causing her to grin broadly. "We'll wait for a few more stragglers then get going," she said, raising her voice for all to hear.

Isidora was one of those stragglers. It was better than being late, right? Totally.
The first year almost ran into the class, clearly worried about the lateness, allllllll the way up to the free seat closest to the center, and threw herself into it with a grinning huff.
It was a miracle that she and the desk didn't go tipping over.
"Nice hat, Professor!" She said by way of greeting, hazel-greens going down to the materials on her desk. OHHHH.

Isabelle smiled at the Ravenclaw as she made her way in to the room and plopped down in a seat. Right, there didn't appear to be any more to come. Flicking her wand, the door closed with a click and Issy removed her hat with her other hand.
"First of all, before we start, I'd like to say I was very impressed with all the homework you submitted after the discussion in the last lesson. It was all very well thought out. I'd also like to say - I know how worried you must be about your fellow students. But Healer Tillstorm will take good care of them. Please do let me know if you feel unwell during the lesson though."
Back to business. Picking up a piece of material she'd kept to the side for herself, Issy put that on her head instead of the now removed hat. Looking mighty silly, and not unlike a Muggle man at the seaside. "Right then, this is a bit of a clue as to what you'll be using those for," she said, pointing at the the cloths on each of the desks. "Anyone want to hazard a guess?" Or would she really need to spell it out for them?

Ella frowned. She was quite worried about the other students and whether or not they would be okay soon. She sincerely hoped they would. She also hoped that no one in this class would freeze up. It freaked her out and it made her think it could easily happen to her what with the amount of people now lying in the hospital wing.
As for the piece of material Professor Magnus now had on her head...which was extremely silly, by the way...Hehehehe...Ella raised her hand with a smile. "We'll be creating hats today, Professor?" And Ella would create the best hat ever...she already had some ideas floating around!

There was a bemused grin the tugged on this Ravenclaw's lips when seeing the Professor switch her hat for the square fabric on her head. What were they going to be transfiguring today? He raised a respectful hand "Will we be transfiguring some kind of head gear made of cloth Professor, like hats or beanies?" It is winter after all, beanies are rather useful at this time.

See? There actually were professors that CARED about the freezing students, and about the soon-to-be-frozen ones. Unlike someone else.
But back to the lesson. What were they going to do with those cloths? Waaait. Professor Magnus had that hat... and they had cloths... hat... cloths... hat... cloths... "We'll make clothes!" Nora said enthusiastically as she quickly raised her hand. "Or just hats?" Still, the grin on her face was so large that it might hurt. She'll enjoy this lesson, that was sure.
Nate thought about it until he knew what it might be. So he raised his hand and said "Professor are we going to be using the cotton on our desk, and make it into a hat?"
He thought that that might be a good guess.

Gary noticed on his desk. A white cotton cloth. So today they would practicing transfiguration again? That's good. Since he didn't like any theorical lessons. Learning transfiguration was better if you get practicing it with your wand, right? Yeah of course. That's why he didn't enjoy the last class. Okay, now what would be do with this? The blonde guy scratched his chin and thought for a moment. Hmm.. Maybe they would transfigure this material into something? "Well, Professor. Maybe we would transfigure this into.. hat?" since the Professor was wearing one.
Well, he just noticed that this class was so quiet as usual. Maybe because most of them were frozen, especially the Prefects who usually became very active in every class.

Well at least this professor seemed to care about the freezing students. They were still going on with the lesson, but no one had frozen in this particular class yet, so that wasn't too bad. And hopefully no one would freeze either.
As for what they'd be doing today? Penelope decided to offer a guess. "We'll be making hats out of it?" she said, raising her hand.

Erin seated at her favorite spot of the room as she eyed the Professor remove her weird hat in a weird angle. She listened as Professor Magnus expressed her pride that everyone submitted good homeworks last time and she also showed concern about the freezing people everywhere, it may be in class or outside class.
For the question...Erin's hand shot up in the air, "Hats! Are we?" If Erin would be making a hat out of it, she would be making an extremely intricate one. She would.

Alyssa laughed when the Professor replaced the hat on her head for the strange item that was on the table. She waited until the others gave their answers before she raised her and offered her answer.
"Professor will be transfiguring that thing on your head for maybe something that one would wear on their head, like the hat you had on or maybe a Battle Helmet." Alyssa grinned hoping that it would be second. She would love to have a battle helmet of her own.
Laura looked at the Professor. "Were going to be rating hats, if we like them we give them 10 and if we hate them we are going to throw them in the bin." Laura had no idea if she was right but it was just a guess and she was sure the Professor would have told her off if she suggested they were going to model the hats.
Laura looked at the Professor. "Were going to be rating hats, if we like them we give them 10 and if we hate them we are going to throw them in the bin." Laura had no idea if she was right but it was just a guess and she was sure the Professor would have told her off if she suggested they were going to model the hats.
R--rate the hats? What sort of lesson would they do that in? Uhhh... "Maybe at the end of the lesson, Laura. Once you've all created a hat - which the rest of you correctly guessed we'll be doing." Isabelle gave the Hufflepuff an awkward grin and turned her gaze to the rest of the class.
Using her wand, Issy drew a circle around the top of her head, directly touching the material. With almost an audible pop the cloth turned into an exact replica of the hat she had been wearing at the start of the lesson. What? She liked it. You could never have too much of a good thing. "And that is how it works." Simple really. "Wand movement and incantation will be put up on the board for you shortly, and I'll demonstrate again too."

Bahaha! Laura really was funny sometimes. It wasn't a bad idea though, rating the hats at the end. Ella was going to make sure hers was epic. She had a lot of brainstorming to do...
As for the Professor's question, Ella knew about hats...well some hats. "There are flat caps, which are round with a tiny brim. My granddad always wore one. I think they were worn originally in England and Scotland too." Though she wasn't a hundred percent about that part.
This was a weird and cool question But Nigel did know a couple hats.
"Professor, There is the Fedora. It is a felt hat worn by men. It was very popular in 1950 american movies. Indiana Jones , Detectives, and Gangsters wore them."
Nigel really did like the Indiana Jones movies. Even if they were old classics.

Hats. Right. She knew this. Louisa glanced at the blank white squared cotton for a moment trying to get as much information about hats as she could. There wasn't many, as a Ravenclaw she never really crossed her mind to read about fashion.
Raising her hand, Louisa answered all robot like, "There is Beret hats, professor. They began in 19th century and France, Spain and Italy are three of the biggest consumers of those." She always got hers from France when her mom went there. One of them was still with Paulie....
As soon as Nate heard the question he started to think about the types of hats he knew. He was about to say one, but someone else already said it. So he thought of another one. Once he had one in his head he raised his hand "A tricorn is a type of hat. It was really big in the 18th century. The shape of the hat was favored by Spanish soldiers."

So they were gonna be making hats. Vickers pondered the answer before raising his hand. Fashion-- and in this case fashion history-- wasnt really his strong points "Professor, there is something called the Top hat, sometimes called the stove pipe hat. Nowadays its popular with Muggle magicians pulling rabbits out of it. It probably originated somewhere in England in the 18th or 19th century and was carried over to the Americas, which later on became closely associated with the US President Abraham Lincoln" among other things American.
