Hail and well met, Snitchse- er, SSers. Today, we're out here on the city streets to meet your next MotW! Aren't we all excited. Everyone, say hello to your friendly neighbourhood Spiderman EquestrianGal88! Oh and you say hello to them as well. They like that. Hello all. *waves* I think they like you. Today, we'd like to get behind the EquestrianGal88 mask. Find out who you are and what makes you tick, y'know? SO. Tell us about yourself. Name, age, preferred brand of chocolate, the works! Well, I go by the name of Freya, I'm twenty years old (the '88' part of my screenname), and I guess my favorite chocolate is Lindt (which I hope I spelled right). I came across SnitchSeeker a couple of years ago, and actually joined just over a year ago. I don't usually like talking about myself, so interviews are pretty awkward. But I guess I can say that I am a dental student with hopes of graduating with top marks. I'm also an equestrian, which is basically someone who works with horses, and who also rides. I ride, I've competed, and have had several jobs at various stables. It's tough but rewarding. Ah there we go. =D So that's why you have the Equestrian thing! I thought it meant that you'd gotten superpowers from being bitten by a horse and that you could kick really hard. So... how did you get into that? I guess it started when I was about eight years old. I needed a hobby and my parents agreed to bring me to a stable once a week for riding lessons. Since then I've been hooked. Things ended after a while because as you can imagine, the lessons really got expensive. When I was in middle school I got back in the swing of things again and started to ride in smaller competitions and trail courses.
It wasn't until I was 17 that I actually received my very own horse (who's name is going to remain a secret). Anyway, it was my parents who gave me the hobby to start out with, which now is a lifestyle. So I thank them for giving me that opportunity when I was young. D= secret horse names? Is she a superhero toooo? And that sounds so fun. I've only gotten to ride a horse once, at Girl Scout camp. It was an enjoyable experience. Haha, actually, my horse is a he. From an ex-girl scout to another, yes, it really is a great experience. It's no wonder why so many people see horseback riding as calming and in some cases used for therapy. However, it's not so much fun when you fall off, which is bound to happen when you ride as much as myself and other riders do. O.O you fall off? oh my goodness. That sounds scaaaaary. Besides riding and falling off horses and going to dental school, what else do you do? As if that's not, you know, enough. 'Course I fall off sometimes. But like with anything else, you have to get right back up again.
Other than horses? Well, I love to play sports, mainly soccer (football), badminton, tennis, volleyball, floor hockey, and racquetball. I don't particularly like playing on an actual team as much as I do just having fun with family and friends.
Hiking is also something that I like to do. Anything that involves the outdoors is fine with me. I'm also a fan of writing, though I fail at poetry and much prefer short stories or research papers. Oooh are you going to participate in NaNoWriMo then? I'm afraid I haven't heard of it...*headsmack* YOU HAVEN'T?! It's National Novel Writing Month. All of November. You write a 50,000 word novel! Only 50,000? Well, then I might just write something up then. But of course my schooling comes first, so I'll have to wait and see. Sounds like a nice challenge though if I do say so myself.
I'm horrible with abbreviations by the way. Haha I am too. I had to ask what it meant... SS has a headquarters for it in the FanFic section, you should check it oooout. and I like that you said ONLY 50,000... like it's not over 1600 words a day. haha Glad I'm not the only one. Although my own in-the-process Fanfic that I've been writing is well over 150 pages, so I may have passed that milestone. Wait, is this still part of the interview? XD It is, yes. Heehee. You fanfic? That's awesome! =D Care to tell us what you listen to while writing? Yep, though I doubt I'll ever get around to posting anything anywhere, I'm pretty touchy about critics who aren't me. I usually don't listen to any music while I write. I find that when I have music playing I want to do other things, so it's completely silent except for my fingers typing. Weird? Maybe. As far as music goes, I listen to a lot of classical and classic rock. I'm not really into rap or stuff like that which can give me a headache...and songs where I can't understand the lyrics...*shivers* I keep wanting to ask questions back! Grr, I feel like I'm hogging the spotlight. You and I are opposites in that then. heehee I've always got music on, I get distracted if it's not there. XD and my music's all foreign. YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO HOG IT. lolol it's your interview, silly. Yes, I know, I don't like to be the center of attention though. *hides* I enjoy passing the torch to another person usually.... I kinda like being the quiet one that runs everything behind the scenes. So you're the light technician rather than the main character. Haha, you could say that I guess. Hmmm. So we covered music and writing... Reading, we do that. What do you like to read? Or rather, who? Lately, I've not read anything for fun, mostly anatomy books and dental materials. I can't give actual author's names either, since I am terrible at remembering names of individuals outside of my family and friends. Mainly I read whatever comes around me, since I love to read almost anything and everything.
I read a lot of Horse & Rider magazines of course, and I'm a fan of mystery and pretty much everything, even Hamlet and Beowulf which the literature class I was in hated for the most part. However, I will say that romance stories make me cringe. And yes, I realize that I might have angered a lot of people who like that lovey dovey stuff. Outright lovey dovey stories bug me as well, so I know what you mean. And I had to read Beowulf in high school, I LOVED IT. They made it into a movie recently, didn't they? I believe they did. But I won't even come close to watching it. No offense to any readers/moviegoers who like the film. I didn't go see it either. XD What kind of movies DO you like? Lots of movies really. Recently I've been watching a lot of horror movies, due to the time of year mostly...unfortunately, I doubt I will be getting a good night's sleep tonight.
Strange, I actually had a conversation about movies last night.
I'm a fan of comedy and adventure as well, and older animated films. A couple of my all time favorites is The Great Mouse Detective, which is a Disney animated movie, and My Neighbor Totoro, which is a studio Ghibli film I think. And although Fawlty Towers isn't a movie, it's a comedy series of twelve episodes that was produced (as I remember) in the 70's. Haha. XD I still haven't seen My Neighbour Totoro but I want to... and The Great Mouse Detective! Basil! D= Greatest childhood movie ever. The villain was... Rattigan? I think? He was scaaaary. Wow, and actually, the main character on Fawlty Towers is named Basil Fawlty...weird.... =D.
Rattigan was pretty creepy when I was little. I always remember one line from the film, "You're not coming through..." which makes me burst out in laughter whenever I hear someone say it. When you get to watch the Totoro movie, watch it in the undubbed version, the original Japanese, and with subtitles...which I have to do, since I can't speak the language. I can't either... yet. I never watch dubs, they make me twitchy. =D but... we should get back to other questions. I keep forgetting this is an interview. haha Same here... XP So hmmmm... did we ask how you found SS yet? I don't think we did. Not yet, and it was actually by accident. I remember looking for information on a HP movie release or something (it's been two years, so my memory is fogged up...old age and all) and the search I had running gave a link leading to the SS site.
So I looked around for a while and after doing nothing but reading information and such for some time I decided to join in order to participate in the chats and whatnot. It wasn't until after I joined that I realized that there were actually games and an RP (which I had no idea what RP meant at the time) Best accident ever? What part of the site caught you by the ear and yelled "Freya, stay here!"? Best accident ever? I'd have to say no, because otherwise it would be a lie. The best accident ever was seeing the horse I would eventually call my own for the first time.
I don't know what it was about the site, it just seemed fun and well-organized, so I took a shot and joined up. I'm very glad I did though, it's been a fun year. a close second then? heehee SS is fun, we're good people. What's your favourite area of the site to visit? Hmm...that's a tough one actually, let me give it some thought *plays Jeopardy theme*
I guess my favorite would be a tie between the games and the numerous RP sections. I can't choose a favorite favorite. I notice the spelling differences with the word 'favorite'. Haha Bwahaha. I spell differently. So no favourite on the site... how about we have MY favourite - a lightning round. *evil* Nope, no favourite. *smirks* And a lightning round sounds like fuuuun. Favourite Potter character? Paper or plastic? What's your favourite fruit? Are timezones really evil, or just misunderstood? And what IS your superpower? I'll take 'what is your superpower' for 400. >:] Answer them aaaaaall. Bwahahaa All of them? You must be a supervillain. I'll never win now! *narrows eyes* Let's seeee...my favorite Harry Potter character would have to be, erm...I'm going to go with Luna. She's just such an oddball (in a good way) that I couldn't help but enjoy whatever dialogue she had in the books. Paper or plastic? That's not even a fair question. Paper, hands-down. I recycle like a crazy person. Besides, plastic bags break easier. Favorite fruit? That's a hard one too. I guess I like red grapes the best. Easy snack food for sure. Timezones are in fact evil. I hate talking to someone when I know that it is like one in the morning where they are, so I often tell them to go to bed, which cuts down valuable chatting time. My superpower? I don't think I should let that one slip...but okay, I guess I can trust you and several hundred others. My superpower is the ability to know what time it is without looking at a watch. I just pick a random and sensible time, say, 12:34, and when I look at my cell phone, I often guessed the right time. My co-workers get a kick out of it. Mmhmm mmhmm. *makes notes for later super-villainy* I quite enjoy Luna... because you can imagine her saying most anything and it could totally be canon. Speaking of that... Claudia, our last MotW (Luna_Laufghudd, I win at segues! Or however it's spelled.) had a question for you.
And answer it. >:] "If you could choose the shape Harry's scar, that is something else than the lightning shape, what would it be? And WHYyyy? *gaspeth*" Another shape for Harry Potter's scar? Hmm.... A bullseye. Mwahahaaa! Maybe some spells might actually hit him then. Besides, I think it'd be kinda funny Bwahahaa I LOVE IT. So EVIL I love it too...cuz I AM evil.... *shifty eyes* Noooow you have to make a question. an EVIL question. An evil question? Hmm...*thinks and thinks and thinks* Geepers! That's the toughest question of them all! Hmmmmm.... I guess I'll go with this question; If you were to become an animagus, what animal form would you take? Not just because it may be your favorite animal, it doesn't always work out that way, take into consideration your personality, appearance, and habits. You are BRILLIANT. Why thank you! *bows* But... sadly that means our fun interview is over. Awww, that's okaaaay, I can forgive you Truuuuue. But still... I shall miss it. *reminisces* So... I guess you're off, with your super!horse and his secret identity, to fight more crime with your time telling powers? That is correct! *swooshes into superhero gear* Wherever clocks are running slow, I'll be there! And I'm off to do more EVIIIIIIL. Mwahahaha! *looks at audience* We're off to demonstrate our powahs in potentially destructive ways! =D Hope you all enjoyed this interview and we'll be back soon with another super edition of... MEMBER OF THE WEEK. *flies off* |

Great interview.
It was really amusing, especially when you said you'd have Harry's scar be a bulls eye.

Hahaha! Congratulations, Freya! I still consider Rattigan as one of Vincent Price's best performances. It was my intro to his work, actually. The Great Mouse Detective definitely still has a strong fan-following here and there and I think that's saying something for it.
Great interview, ladies! |
