On the conference room side of the department you'll find the work areas for MLE workers in the Security, MLES and Auror divisions. They are in and out all the time and truthfully most of them don't spend more than a few hours at their desks unless they have paperwork to do of course. However, the heads of each division may decide to have a meeting with their team from time to time, and if its not formal enough to require the conference room, likely they'll just use the tables pushed together along the middle of the room. Likewise if a member of the public comes to speak with a Law Enforcer, if it doesn't require use of an interrogation room, or is more of an informal meeting, they'll probably just hang out in here.

During a major crime investigation, this side of the department is buzzing with talk. Right here is where the magic happens, except when, you know, the magic is happening err... out there somewhere.Around the walls you will see moving posters of the most wanted criminals of the Wizarding world, as they are caught they are magically marked with a red X.

Every Auror, Hit Wizard and MLES Officer has their own desk here. It's slightly different for the Security employees. The Head of Security, the Event Security Liaison Officers, and the Internal Investigations Liasons have their own permanent desks, while the Ministry Sentinels, Security Officers and Wand Weighers work between this office and the Security post in the atrium, and do not have a personal desk of their own.

I wouldn't go and be nosy at some of these desks, some of the old hands are a bit paranoid and there are plenty of charms and wards in place to prevent snooping. Additionally, there's one certain corner desk belonging to a sharp ole codger who recently retired.... it's considered something of a project for the YATI kids and certainly one you'll want to make sure you avoid.

Emily had wandered past the reception area and into the main section of level two... there was little signage in the office areas, though she had managed to find what appeared to be the workspaces for the Auror's, Security and Hit Wizards...

What in the name of Merlin was she supposed to do now?

Taking a seat at one of the desks- being careful in case one of the chairs decided to eat her, she looked around hoping to find Damein... she hadn't been able to identify his office anywhere.

Okay... maybe he could have handled people a bit better, but the truth was... he just didn't like to be nice. Not. One. Bit.

He MIGHT have been standing behind the door, just off to the right, as B1 came in. Well. It was clear, she was nearly as oblivious to her surroundings as young Mr. Dakest. Mhm. He had SO MUCH work to do. Moving almost silently out from behind the door he made his way to his desk and perched on the corner of it.

"Miss Browne, what would say was your first mistake upon entering this room?" he asked in a louder than usual voice. Hehe.

Emily jumped at the sound of Damien's voice. Turning her head to face him she felt her cheeks grow hot... mistake? ... she had made a mistake?!

A voice in the back of her mind yelled, "Constant Vigilence!"...... aahh the sweet sound of her father's voice.. how she missed it... ugh.

Starring into Damien's eyes confidently- though not feeling entirely comfortable at the same time she piped up.
"Well I didn't notice you standing there for starters", she said a small smile playing on her lips. But of course she had made a bigger error... had she not?
She stretched her arms above her head and arched her back, adjsusting her position in the chair.
"Also... I take it I shouldn't be sitting here".

She stood, no doubt she had a lot to learn. She didn't have her fathers guidance anymore.

He eyed the young girl from his perch on the desk across from her and smiled. She looked confident... he would surely break her before too long. Got to crush them and rebuild them. Mhm.

"That's the only error so far. If you had tried to sit at any desk that was already being used... well let's just say, you would not have been able to perch on my desk without losing a cheek," he pointed out. Truth. Try to sit at another Auror's desk around here. Pffft.

Now. "Have a seat. I would like to ask you a few questions, kid. Hope you don[t find that offensive. I tend to call everyone kid that is under the age of 30," he pointed out as he removed his hat, ran a hand through his hair, and tossed it onto the desk.

Good thing she could handle it... because, really... he wasn't going to NOT call her kid, amongst other things. He would call her whatever popped into his head that wasn't offensive, probably. Was just the way he rolled.

Why was this kid so... amused by him? That was not the reaction she should have when her boss, a 20+ year veteran Auror was in her midst, trying to teach her. Seriously. What was WRONG with the children around the UK? They all seemed a bit... wonky in the head.

She paused. For that one particular moment in time she felt completely at ease. Emily had it all planned out. Yes she would eat, sleep and breathe her work and training, it would become her life. But it was what she wanted to do and she was determined.

Right now this was more like it. This was what Emily had been expecting, the 'why you' question. And it was the one question Emily had failed to answer... had failed to reherse. She sat there silently for a moment, thinking of how she would answer. As the seconds slipped past she decided to just state the facts, as only a Ravenclaw could.
"I know that I've got what it takes...", this was more of an instinct, "I have always excelled at potions, herbology, defence against the dark arts and transfiguration, I'm a quick thinker, I'm fit and active, I'm ambitious, I'm determined and I've got guts."

Well.. that was more or less her opinion- partially backed up by evidence. Still Emily had a feeling nothing she said was going to make a difference. She was sure Damien would acertain whether or not she had what it took for himself. All she could do was train hard, work hard, study hard.

Dacs had made her way to the office area and immediately saw a newbie being grilled by Damien. She remembered her first day as an auror. They had a training simulation as they were preparing for the Quidditch World Cup. It was fun, she had to admit. She met Edward Lestrange and he was no joke but of course with Dacs' demeanor she didn't let him ruffle her at all. But she had been in the field from before. She already knew what to expect from individuals like Edward.

She strolled on by, not interrupting and headed directly to her desk. As usual, she dropped her black bag pack on her desk and sat down. It was very good for her to just sit and think for a while in the morning before the others got in. Leaning back and interlacing her fingers in front of her face, Dacs closed her eyes and began to go over all the thoughts in her head. Compartmentalizing them. Separating work from her personal life and the new rising of family issues, with her alleged half sister from her dead father. Centralizing work, she thought over the recent security checks on ministry workers.

Hands in the pockets of his brand new dark washed jeans, Emery entered the offices glowing brighter than the stars. Was he a happy man today? HECK YEAH. He'd been announced as THE best man for his pal only a few days ago and well, the effects hadn't worn off just yet. He glanced around, seeing nothing out of the ordinary- Well, okay. That was a bit of a lie. He recognized one of his co-workers interrogating who seemed to be a new employee. the man threw a nod toward each of them along with a smile as he muttered a quick "G'morning." Deciding it was better to not get involved, despite the fact that he did want to watch, Emery continued towards the desks.

Pausing at his own, he pulled out his chair, as he simultaneously pulled the dark blue messenger bag up and over his head, and off of his shoulder. He then proceeded to place it on the desk as he saw.. Dacs, was it? at her own desk. The man threw her a grin before sitting down at his own desk, still glowing brighter than a Christmas tree.

Feeling a change in weight in the air around her, Dacs knew that someone had entered the office. She opened her eyes to see a young man at a desk across the room. She surveyed him careful even as he nodded at her. Dacs gave him a slight nod in return. From look of him and where he sat, she recognized him. His name was Emery and he was in the Auror. She saw his file during the security checks.

Making his way up to the second floor for the second time was a lot less daunting than the first. Or perhaps it was simply more familiar. Indeed stepping through the door into the Auror office space, for the first time to work, for his first day, was enough to almost send him booking it back out again. While his feet remained rooted firmly in place, his stomach seemed to do just that, skitter out of his gut, down to his toes and crawl back through the slowly closing door. He supposed it was for the best; he hadn't brought much to sustain an appetite any ways, given he didn't expect to have time to do much eating.

And from the sight of Damien perched on someone's desk, a girl who looked to be close to his age, he was fairly certain there would be little break in the day. Not that he minded; constant work was better than milling about bored.

With a slow breath out and a glance about the room, he made his way slowly towards the desk where Damien was now moving to, shifting the position of his jacket on his shoulder and readjusting his wand holster on his wrist. Not wanting to interrupt, he stopped a respectful distance away from the conversation.

YESS! SOMEONE ALEKA KNEW! "dacs, umm vhat do i do?" aleka asked sincerely, obviously having no clue what she was doing, she saw all the chairs, and desks, do i sit down? she asked herself in thought, am i even in the right room? or building? EEKK! WHAT AM I DOING??! she thought, suddenly panicking

Dacs sighed realizing the extent of how nervous she was. "Calm down. There's a cafe across the street you can get good coffee. Relax, you're gonna be eaten,"she said, then with a cold glance at the girl, she continued,"...yet."

She liked to joke but it was always twisted and not normal they way she did it. I guess it was an unwritten requirement in her line of work.

and across means??.. "okay.." not gonna go, still dont know where to go, "ohhh" she said understanding. there was no magic at mossad, at least, not that they knew of.. "so..be careful?" she asked quietly

Sky Light walked into the office marked Auror, Security, and Hit Wizards Decks...She looked over at the others and looked around...What was she supposed to be doing? She saw only two people at decks and th others standing around...She just stood in her spot looking around at the others...She finally got up enough courage and said Hello... Yeah some Hit Wizard she was going to be if she had to get courage just to say Hello...

If anyone asked her, she wouldn't say she was touchy, or paranoid. But the truth was, that she really was. A tiny bit, if she had to admit it to herself. She didn't trust people easily, and when coming into work, she was always very consious of the people around her.

Today, Temperance had gotten off to a rough start, but she was feeling a bit better now. She went and found her desk, against the wall that adjoined with the conference room. She wondered where her fellow security people were, but it was still early yet, so she supposed she couldn't be disappointed that they were late yet. She hated being late.

Ben made his grand entrance into the Auror office. He marched into the much more crowded room and stood in front of the office, he was holding the notice about Borr being the new minister out in front of him, and he quickly said. "HAVE YOU ALL SEEN THIS???"

Sky smiled and said I'm Sky Light Nightingale but people just call me Sky, and who are you? Her nervousness delpleadting...Actually she felt calmer, after talking to a 'vetran' of the Department...She then asked Are you an Auror?

Tempy looked up as someone marched into the office. It didn't seem as if he was being quiet about it at all. She nodded her head slightly as she noticed who it was. Her response to his entrance immediately changed.

"Yes Ben, we've all seen it. It's a little hard to miss, Temperance said, a little sarcastically. She was trying not to roll her eyes at the man. And so far succeeding. "Do you not like it?" she asked him, remaining casual.
