Videos: Harry Potter Wizard's Collection new sets feature, Leavesden Studio contest
Warner Bros. Studio Tour London - The Making of Harry Potter launched its own contest where a lucky fan in the UK could not only win tickets to the Leavesden Studio Tour, but the Harry Potter Wizard's Collection, out this Monday in the UK, seen below. The contest runs from now until New Year's Eve and is open to those in the UK 16 years and older; full list of rules can be found here.
In addition to the contest, Warner Bros released a new behind-the-scenes of the making of the film series, where production designer Stuart Craig, art director Neil Lamont, and actor Jason Isaacs commented on the progression of the film sets throughout the years.
Stuart Craig: In the early days of this series, it was necessary that we shot on location. We couldn’ t afford to build the entire world. But in finding locations, you also begin to find the philosophy. And quickly we realized we weren’t building a world which was completely fantastical. There’s a very successful formula that has become a philosophy carried throughout the movie.
Neil Lamont: Stuart’s main philosophy is we’re dealing with a period of architecture that we know, and that we can expand and elongate or stretch, or do anything that we want to with that period. But also, everything needs to be based around a reality.
Jason Isaacs: What’s so basic about the sets is it looks like something that might have been, but somehow the kind of version you would have about it in a dream. Because it’s bigger. The colors are brighter or different. The detail s are different. These are places that are always like places that you’ve been, but just more magical. I think that makes the magic a little stronger. When it unexpectedly grows out of something that is seemingly so real.
Also, Warner Bros released a new video featuring actors Matthew Lewis, Bonnie Wright, Warwick Davis, and Evanna Lynch, where they commended the Harry Potter official Facebook page for surpassing 50 million "likes", and thanked the fans for their support in the last decade.
Matthew Lewis: Hello to our 50 million Facebook fans across the world! We’re so grateful for each and every one of you, and want you to know we couldn’t have done any of it without you.So thanks for liking us on Facebook and for loving Harry Potter all these years.
