In a new interview with Top of the Pops magazine, Tom Felton talks about his character, Draco Malfoy, and also JK Rowling. Apparently, she won't even tell the actors what's going to happen to their roles in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Tom also admits that he wouldn't mind if Draco died.

Hmm, interesting though I don't want to see Draco die!  Now THAT would make me cry; because strangely, I didn't cry when DD or Sirius died. it even made me almost cry when I read the part when he was with MM in the Sectumsempra chapter.

Nah - Snape is going to die sacrificing himself for one or more of the trio. There DEs are not redeemable and have to be punished, therefore Draco needs to live so that there can be a living redemption as well as Snape's posthumous one.
JKR said during POA that one scene really affected her because it parallelled a scene in the final book that she found emotional. I know that she doesn't have the affection that I have for Snape but the only scene which that comment resonates for is the scene where Snape jumps in front of the trio in the face of a werewolf.
One more disturbing comment (recently) was that in speculating about the future and the possibility of writing more Potterverse, she had considered that she might like to write the further adventures of Harry, Hermione and Hagrid. Which implies that Harry survives and Ron dies. I am not sure that I like that. Dumbledore was bad enough (STILL in denial) and Snape will be insurmountable but Ron just makes no sense. At least there is a point with Snape, killing Ron just seems senselessly cruel.

He is obviously influenced by Daniel, who wants Harry to die, though Dan has better reasoning for his opinion. Tom just thinks it´d be cool to be a desperate teen who wants to die?  Quote:

That would be interesting, I must admit I hadn't given much thought to it being Draco but if someone has to die I would prefer it to be him than some of the others, especially Harry.
