Steve Kloves confirmed as J.K. Rowling's 'Fantastic Beasts' movie's script consultant
Steve Kloves, screenwriter for seven of the eight Harry Potter films, was confirmed to help as a script consultant for J.K. Rowling's Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.
In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros.' President, Creative Development and Worldwide Production Greg Silverman admitted that Kloves has been there for Rowling whenever she needed any type of assistance with writing the script for the film.
Quote:
J.K. Rowling has never written a script before, but she wrote the screenplay for Fantastic Beasts. How big a gamble is this?
Silverman: There's a great industry history of authors being great screenwriters. She's so talented, and no surprise, she wrote a brilliant screenplay. Also, she had an amazing collaborator in Steve Kloves, who worked on many of the Harry Potter scripts. He's not writing, but he's around to help her if she ever needs anything.
Kloves is also listed as a producer for Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, along with Rowling, David Heyman and Warner Bros.' executive Lionel Wigram.
Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them's first installment is set to release November 2016, starring Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander.
