| | |  Rupert Grint to star in Wild Target (UPDATED)
Rupert Grint's agency Hamilton Hodell has listed him as having a role in the upcoming film Wild Target, which is about "a hitman [who] tries to retire but a beautiful thief may change his plans." The film stars British actors Bill Nighy and Rupert's Harry Potter co-star Helena Bonham-Carter; it will be shot later this year on the Isle of Man between Wales and Ireland and various other locations in the UK.
The full synopsis of the film is as follows (Rupert plays the young apprentice, Antoine): Quote:
Into the solitary life of middle-aged hitman, Victor Meynard, come two people: Antoine, a youth who becomes Victor’s apprentice, and Ren, a bold thief Victor’s been hired to kill because she cheated a mobster. When circumstances prevent Victor from killing her, the gangster sends two more teams to do it (and to dispatch Victor and Antoine). Victor decides to help Ren, and the unlikely trio ends up at his house with his temperamental mother; there, as they hide out, Victor’s attraction to Ren grows, she discovers his vocation and fears he’s going to kill her, and an ultimate showdown with their hunters is inevitable.
Also, the company that is doing post-production editing on Rupert's film Cherry Bomb, Yellowmoon Post Production, have released a very small image from the movie, which shows his character Malachy floating across a swimming pool with his two friends. The photo can be seen in our galleries:

Jonathan is prepping this new comedy film, to be made in England and the Isle of Man. He starts shooting in London on September 16th, 2008, with Bill Nighy, Helena Bonham Carter and Rupert Grint heading the cast. The screenplay is by playwright Lucinda Coxon, based on the 1993 French film "Cible Emouvante". The producer is Martin Pope.

 THANK GOODNESS! It's so great to see Rupert getting into projects outside of Harry Potter. I'm so excited for him. In my opinion, he is the best, most natural actor of his age, and I wish him all the best. Nice to know that he's getting more exposure on his own because he's so very talented. Congrats, Rupes! We're very proud of you!

I am so ecstatic over this news. 2009 is going to be an amazing year. According to the director's official website it will start filming in Sept 16 so that's pretty soon.

Oh wow he's doing so many projects! I'm proud of him but it also reminds me about the fact that Harry Potter is soon ending  They start shotting later this year? when does he have time to breath?  And it took way shorter than i thought to shoot cherrybomb  ...He's always doing stuff in Ireland, im so jealous. maybe in the future he'll do a project in the US!
