| | |  Rupert Grint begins filming Cherrybomb
Northern Ireland Screen News yesterday put out a press release stating that Cherrybomb, Rupert Grint's new film, had begun principal photography in Belfast, Ireland. There are also more plot details about the project which we first announced at the beginning of the month. Quote:
With their exams over, best friends Malachy and Luke are out to have one hell of a summer. However, the arrival of Michelle, a captivating but troubled beauty, tests their friendship to the limit as she encourages the two boys to carry out increasingly dangerous and illegal deeds in the battle for her affections – with fatal consequences.

“At heart Cherrybomb questions our notion of male loyalty and what happens when this bond is tested as female desire and rivalry comes into play. We are thrilled with our casting and look forward to shooting the film in and around Belfast over the coming weeks,” say the co-directors, Glen Leyburn and Lisa Barros D’Sa.

I am wondering by the names of the characters, Malachy and Luke, if there is a Catholic/Protestant twist to this...in that Malachy is more Irish name and Luke is not a common "Celtic" name......Since it is set in Belfast, I have to wonder.
