Evanna Lynch revealed that when she was filming
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, author J.K. Rowling - who was finishing up writing the finale of the series,
Deathly Hallows - admitted that she almost added the character of Rolf Scamander in the seventh installment. Rolf is the grandson of Newt Scamander (author of
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them).
Evanna, along with Harry Potter costar and real-life boyfriend Robbie Jarvis (young James Potter), attended the Oz Comic Con in Sydney, Australia this weekend, and during a panel chat on Sunday commented on her close correspondence with Rowling during the writing of Deathly Hallows, in 2005-2007.
SnitchSeeker correspondent Rotae was covering Q&A chats with Robbie and Evanna on Saturday and Sunday, and it was just hours ago when Evanna said what she had learned from Rowling about her character Luna Lovegood's future husband, Rolf Scamander.

Rolf Scamander was originally going to tell the story of The Tale of the Three Brothers in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (which Hermione Granger and Xenophilius Lovegood did in the final version). J.K Rowling kept Evanna updated on whether he was in or out of the book.
Rowling and Evanna kept in contact when they were filming (Order of the Phoenix), and because Luna marries Rolf, she was keeping Evanna updated on whether he was in or out of the book, and it'd be, "he's in, he's out, he's in, sorry, he's out"

• Evanna still gets thrills from J.K. Rowling. She thinks there's a lot of magic in Jo, and Rowling trusts her with Luna. They still write to each other. Jo emailed her once and she didn't like the immediateness of it, and asked her to go back to pen and paper.
• Robbie wrote a letter to David Heyman before being cast asking to be Cedric. Heyman replied and said they had someone for Cedric, but would keep him in mind. Robbie specifically chose his agent because they had a lot of actors in Harry Potter. Robbie and 50 other boys had to play a game in the audition where they had to run around and tap four other people on the head; he tapped David Heyman, David Yates and all the other producers, who were the only stationary targets, and he won. David Yates said that was the moment that they cast him because it was something James would do.
• Evanna played Dobby in a school play.
• Evanna doesn't like the way that Luna is used for comic relief sometimes. There's a deep spirituality to her, as she helped Harry deal with death.
• Robbie was a huge Marauders fan even before being cast. He even wrote James and Sirius-centric fanfiction.
• Matthew Lewis and Alfie Enoch used to get Evanna to give each other nasty food because she looked innocent.
• Evanna thinks Neville is "too weird" for Luna, because he wants things like a stable job and to get married and settle down.
• Robbie tried to steal James' glasses numerous times from the set.
• If they could be another character, Evanna would be Dobby, and Robbie would be McGonagall, because "she's bad-***, and on the right side, but mean."
• Robbie would love a broomstick so he could fly. He's always been obsessed with flying. He tried to fly when he was 6 and landed on a coat hanger.
• Evanna would like portkeys to be real because she's always late.
• J.K. Rowling did NOT suggest Evanna for the role. She had to audition like everyone else. Evanna wasn't nervous about auditioning for Luna because it was about Luna, not Evanna. In the audition queue she thought; "If they like my interpretation of Luna, that's great, and if they don't; they're wrong."
• Evanna wanted Harry's meltdown in Dumbledore's office (in Order of the Phoenix) and the house elves to be included.
• Robbie: The movies aren't just for Harry Potter fans, they're for film fans as well. Wished the Marauders story could have been in it more.
• Evanna feels a responsibility to be Luna, and to step up and help people the way Luna helped her.
• J.K. Rowling told Evanna the Crumple-Horned Snorkack wasn't real and Evanna disagrees.
• Evanna would audition for Trelawney in 10 years.
• Evanna's favorite shop is Honeydukes and Robbie's is Ollivanders.
• What Evanna learned from work on Harry Potter: You can do anything with enough passion. Learned not to deify things because it creates distance. Learned to treat everyone as humans, and that everyone has something unique to contribute.
• Robbie learned that everyone makes mistakes, but you shouldn't let it define you. Move forward with the best intentions, and either you make it right, or do it better next time.
• Evanna: Snape never felt comfortable with who he was. Snape could never get over his own insecurities.
• Evanna was closest to Katie Leung on set because they went through the same process.
• Robbie was closest to Daniel Radcliffe.
