On the red carpet after the debut performance of Equus a couple nights ago, actor Lorenzo Pisoni, who plays Nugget (the horse with whom Daniel Radcliffe's character Alan Strang becomes enamored), talked about the perils of carrying the young actor on his back during the play: Quote:
"I don't want to be that guy who drops Harry Potter!" Pisoni laughed. "So I certainly scuff my shoes to make sure I don't slip."
Dan himself is quoted in the article in regards to the Half-Blood Prince release date change, where he expresses his sympathy to the fans for the extended wait: Quote:
"It's a disaster for the fans, and I totally appreciate that," he said. "I am very, very sorry for them, but it was worked out very nicely for the run of 'Equus.'"

it's quite a risk filled section of the play. The 'rider' has to carry Alan on his shoulders and run around the stage at least twice. It's a partnership of trust on Dan and Lorenzo's part and very thriling. The first time i saw it i couldn't help imagine the thoughts going through the minds of any representative from WBs who happened to see it. 'Don't drop him, he's worth $4billion to us.'
