| | |  Professor Umbridge has been cast!
It was previously rumoured that Imelda Staunton was to play Professor Umbridge in ' Order of the Phoenix'.
The actress appeared on ' This Morning' earlier today and confirmed that she will play the Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor in the fifth film. She said that she has not yet received a script but that she is definitely going to be in the film.
The news is also confirmed on the shows website: Quote: Harry Potter
Imelda plays Professor Dolores Umbridge, the special assistant from the Ministry of Magic who ends up torturing the famous boy wizard at Hogwarts. Umbridge is meant to teach Defence Against The Dark Arts to Hogwarts students, but she has a hidden agenda - namely to spy on the school's head, Albus Dumbledore, and Harry. Fans of the fifth Harry Potter book, The Order Of The Phoenix, in which Professor Umbridge is introduced, love to loathe her. Described by author J. K. Rowling as a short, squat woman bearing an uncanny resemblance to a toad, she's a much-celebrated hate figure.

that's so cool. i saw a picture of her and she looks exactly how i pictured umbridge. even though the fourth movie hasn't come out yet, i can't wait to see the fifth one either!

Well she really lookes like a real Umbridge should look like.Now it depends on how she plays it. I hope good because she has to be really mean. Etherwise the Only-HP-movielookers don`t understand how horrible she really is and maybe she playes another role in HP 7???  | |

I've never seen anything she was in, but an HP-loving friend from Sussex has and is squealing over the choice - great actress apparently. With some ugly-paint I think she'll do a great job, she's much too pretty right now  | |

I agree, she looks like Umbridge. Or at least, a realistic Umbridge. The picture of her I had in my head while reading OotP was too horrible for reality. I haven't actually seen her in anything but they have been very good with their casting for the movies so far, so I trust them.
