Matthew Lewis who plays Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter films has taken time out from filming to join NBS (National Blood Service) staff celebrating the collection of over 11,000 units of blood, donated since the centre opened. He also helped launch an appeal for more blood donors across the region. Quote:
"Many years ago my auntie needed blood transfusions, and ever since my mum has given blood. She used to take me along to sessions when I was little so I know it's nothing to be afraid of. I'm going to give blood as soon as I'm old enough."
There was also a photo of him that went with the article which can be seen below.
