| | |  Luna Lovegood hopefuls in the press
Articles about girls short-listed from the Luna Lovegood casting call have started to emerge. Recently it was announced that it had been narrowed down to 400 girls. Jessica Hoggins, 14, from Newport and 15 year old Laura Scaife from Dunholme are among that number. Both articles include their story and pictures of the aspiring actresses. Quote:
Jessica, who will be 15 next month, was encouraged to go for the part by Ian Billings, of the drama group Stagecoach, who said she fitted the blonde-haired blue-eyed description for the part.
She was shortlisted to read from the script and take a screen test.

Laura's stepfather David Hoskins told the Chronicle: "She's been into Harry Potter ever since the first book came out and reads them over and over again.
"She read about the casting call on the internet on Thursday and asked if she could go, and her dad took her down on Saturday morning."
At the call, the children were seen in groups of 50, of which four from each were asked to leave further details, and Laura was among these in her group. She is now waiting for information about the next stage in casting.

Luna is quite a character! Many times she seems as "looney" as her nickname, but she certainly has a way of getting to the truth, which Harry has seen and admired in her. I hope whomever is chosen fits the part as well as the rest of the cast. I think she will. It will be interesting as well to see how her character develops in book 7.

I dunno - it's not the colour of her hair and eyes that matters - it is that expression, and the overall impression of the girl - which i think Laura is suited well too...

Yeah, hair and eye colour mean nothing really, those can easily be changed. Out of those two, Laura has an interesting look about her.
