The Goblet of Fire is being made into one movie. They have toyed with the idea of making it into two and releasing them in the same calender year but have decided against it. This means Steve Kloves will have a lot of cuts to make! NOTE from Dumbledore: This seems to now have been confirmed. CBBC Newsround posted the news as well. |

You know, to be honest, all of the side-stories in Goblet aren't as good as the usual ones. I mean, I was upset about them cutting out the Deathday party, but to be honest, if they released two movies, can you imagine how expensive that would be? Twenty bucks to see, technically "one movie" split into two parts.

| If GoF was to be transformed into a 2 1/2 hour movie, it would be butchered to fit! So many things play into the plot that must be included! I think your better off with a 2part movie each latering 2 1/2 hours long! Id def watch it and i know any true Harry Potter Fan would see it too... I mean the book is like jumbo big and your telling me that this movie is gonna be the same length as CoS? which the book happens to be like a 1/3 the size of GoF... so how do you expect to incorporate all the important elliments in the film? you cant so thats they this whole 2 1/2 hour one movie idea is completely obsurd! |

I got this off Mugglenet, just a second
Afraid of alienating die-hard Muggles by cutting scenes, the studio and scribe initially had talked about breaking the book into two separate films to be released in the same calendar year, à la The Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions, but Warners has now opted for a single movie.
A rep for Warners said the studio will likely bring back the franchise's aging kid stars for the fourth adventure, but it's possible filmmakers may decide to recast. A separate announcement regarding those roles will be made soon.
A 750+ page book into a 2 and a 1/2 hour movie? Steve Kloves is going to have to make some difficult decisions. Many cuts will have to be made.

[COLOR=blue] the GoF could probably be made into a 3 1/2 hour i think because in the movies its not abunch of explaining what things look like its just action and talking and so stripped of details the book would proably be half the size. but they can show it as one movie in the theatre but they will need two video tapes for the movie probably because the first and second movie took up almost all the room for tape and so you wouldnt be able to ad much more time. they probably will have to make it with two video tapes. but thats ok. i love a good long movie. and they will have to cut some stuff out though. because if they had everything it would be over 4 hours probably. and the fifth book i hate to think how long of a movie thats going to be. | |

Well I think that it is so much better that it is going to be one movie rather than two because then we wouldnt have to wait for next bit of the film when all good things happen

You know, I reckon that if GoF is made into one movie, the scenes and all will a bit rushed. Like they'd have to try and fit in all the important bits, and well, there are HEAPS of important bits in GoF!

I think it's better this way. If it was going 4 a split god knows how long the movies wood take to come to india.
I think most probably cut out the Rita Skeeter parts.
