Despite stories going around that the finalised screenplay for
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - at least the first installment - has been completed, J.K. Rowling's reps confirmed that it is not even close to completion.
The Hollywood Reporter named the
Harry Potter author as number one on their Hollywood's 25 Most Powerful Authors list, which highlighted her seven-book saga, The Casual Vacancy, Robert Galbraith books, and
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
The publication noted the following about Rowling's future projects:
Quote:
Finishing the Fantastic Beasts screenplay (her rep says it's "not close to wrapping up") and a new novel -- no plot details yet -- that is half-written.
While producer David Heyman commented on the script - calling it sublime, vivid, exciting and funny, and noting his excitement for the upcoming franchise - he never once said that the screenplay from Rowling was complete.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them's first movie will release in theaters November 2016.
