| | | Emma Watson talks fashion, university & more
A new Emma Watson interview has been featured in the March 2009 issue of Io Donna magazine, in which she talks about her growing fame and recognition, fashion, and choice of universities and film projects. Some of the newer responses can be read, courtesy of Portkey.it's translation, below: Quote: Did you want the main role in Twilight?
I haven't had time to read it.... I think I should because it's getting more and more famous. You work and study. You are about to start University.
It's an exciting part of my life. I'm grown up now, kind of. It's a bit scary because I'll stay away from home. I may choose an American university, I don't know yet. Why, since you have Oxford and Cambridge near home?
In America you can attend 4 different classes and then specialize. In England you have to choose a single class and attend for 3 years. It's limited. Any names?
Mmmh, Harvard, Yale, Columbia.
Quote: For British press, you are a fashion icon. Could you describe your style?
I'm a true Londoner. The weather is a bit grey. That encourages a freaky fashion. I mix the street style with vintage. I enjoy it. My mother is very stylish, I learned a lot from her. And from Kate Moss?
She has a great style too. You can immediately see that she wears her own dresses. In America you can't do anything if the the stylist hasn't told you what you have to wear. You bow to thinness dictatorship?
It has never been a dictatorship to me, I don't think it's a good thing being too thin. I'm not on a diet. I like eating and cooking. I can make a very good cake with raspberries and macaroons.

I think I've tried to make it a bit clearer, so I hope what I have there makes a bit more sense. Reckon they asked her if she was interested in wanting to play someone like Bella, or Bella herself, and she said she hasn't had time to read it, but should get around to it because of how big it's become.

Just because it's "famous" doesn't make it good.

LOL!!! Agree Emmaa girl... dont read it because it is "famous". I dont know much about Twilight except I have heard from friends that isnt that great. They like it but not as much as Harry P.
As for colleges- Columbia!!!! WOW!!! Whatever Emma chooses, whether USA or London, they will be getting a fine academic mind!

If she wishes to read Twilight, then that is brilliant. If not, then thats cool too. Everyone is allowed their own opinions. My a few of my friends are slightly obsessed with Twilight, and I have them waiting to be read. Thats my choice.

^Great point! I don't think people give Twilight enough credit, it kind of seems to me like everyone likes JK Rowling and can't save room to like someone else, you know?
Good interview, by the way!

People are free to voice their opinions but a debate, in this instance, is only going to lead to people breaking rules.

| Hocus Pocus * HP Newsoholic Well, it seems that Emma has already decided to go to an American university, the way she said it; I bet she goes to Harvard or Yale... too bad she didn't say Princeton since that's such a beautiful campus and it's definitely a top 5 in my book.
Anyway, I also didn't understand about her Twilight answer, but that's okay. I'm not much of a Twilight fan at this time, but if someone that I know purchased the DVD and would like to invite me over and throw in a fantastically good meal, then I might be enticed to watch the movie. I would be interested in hearing her do an American accent though.
Emma is totally beautiful and equally smart. Sigh.... |

Awesome! Love her!! That Twilight question was random and dumb! And Emma should consider herself LUCKY that she hasn't read it...I would give anything to go back in time and not read that horrible book. But I thought Emma had already chosen a university...this must be an old interview.

Translations always make people sound so weird. Like, unlike themselves. Anyhoo, nice interview. The Twilight question was random, but, to be honest, will it really affect anyone/anything if she does read it? Everyone's getting so worked up.

I thought she already chose a uni? I thought one of the other HP actors mentioned she had told them where she was going to be attending? Maybe i'm wrong...
It's amazing to see what just one question out of a whole interview mentioning Twilight causes such a massive debate! If you like Twilight then you like it, if you don't you don't.
