| | |  Deathly Hallows: Parts 1 & 2 nominated for 2011 British Academy Children's Awards
The 2011 British Academy Children's Awards nominations were announced this morning, where both Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Parts 1 and 2 will be competing against each other in the Feature Film category. Both installments of the finale are also up in the BAFTA Kids’ Vote powered by Yahoo! Top 10 Feature Film category. The ceremony will take place on November 27, 2011 at the London Hilton, Park Lane. In addition, this year’s Awards celebrates the BAFTA Kids’ Vote powered by Yahoo, in which children aged between 7 and 14 years have their say across a whole range of entertainment media in a nationwide poll to choose their favourite film, television programme, website and video game.
The shortlist for voting is incredibly strong, with films from three major franchises leading the way: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Parts 1 and 2, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader are all going head-to-head in the Feature Film category. The Sarah Jane Adventures is nominated in the Television category for the third year running, in competition with Tracy Beaker Returns, which also featured in last year’s Top 10.

Well I'm certainly too old to vote, and....children's awards? Children may still like the films, but as many times as I've seen the last four in the theaters, I've never seen anyone younger than maybe high school age, they stopped being children's books the moment Voldemort returned IMNSHO.
