Post Colin Farrell reveals 'Fantastic Beasts' character Graves investigates dark magic

Colin Farrell revealed a bit of background about his Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them character, American Auror Percival Graves.

Farrell mentioned at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Mexico Fall/Winter 2016 event in Mexico City earlier this week that Graves investigates crimes committed against the American wizarding world in the first movie, and somehow this leads him to meet British wizard Newt Scamander. More on that can be read below.

"I'm basically there to investigate crimes against wizards, against any type of dark magic among the wizarding community," Colin Farrell said Thursday in an interview with The Associated Press in Mexico City.

Percival Graves, his character is "an incredibly powerful wizard," say the actor.

"I love the Harry Potter films, I love them. I've never read the books, my sister read them all. I know, I'm a slacker," Farrell said, adding he feels no pressure to join this multi-billion saga.
Farrell also commented on the extraordinary New York City sets for Fantastic Beasts' first installment, and the joyful chance of playing with a magic wand on set (before bumping into Samuel L. Jackson), at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Tuesday.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them's first movie, written by Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, hits theaters and IMAX this November.

He should, at least, read the books to complete his background knowledge of the world of HP.
