Changing Usernames

We do not encourage you to change your name, however we know that sometimes your tastes change. In order to change your name you must be a member of the site for no less than a year. You also must have at least 4000 posts and NO current warnings or infractions. Each time you change your username this requirement resets and you must wait another full year in order to be eligible. If a member has excessive expired warnings or infractions the admin team reserve the right to refuse their request to change their username.

In order to limit confusion, a "Formerly: OldUsername" title will be given to you and must be worn for 3 months. It is your responsibility to notify an admin and ask to have it removed when this time frame is up.

Whilst we will try to change the username once the request is received, there may be delays. Due to this, it is recommended that you attempt to log on with both usernames if one fails to log in.

Moderators and administrators may also change their username; however, the requested username must be similar to the current username or something that members already know you by for recognition purposes.

To request a name change, please fill out the request form. Further questions should be PM'd to an admin, who will review the situation at their discretion.

Inappropriate Usernames

Please note that while in most cases you will not be able to register inappropriate usernames, if you are caught circumventing the censor using clever spelling or symbols, or by using inappropriate words from languages other than English, your username will not be considered valid and will be subject to change by an administrator. Offensive usernames also fall under this rule and may be subject to warnings.

If you have graduated from newbie status you will be PMd by an administrator and must respond within 48 hours with your preference for a change of username, otherwise it will be selected for you.

If you have not yet graduated from newbie status, the offending part of your username will be changed for you and an email will be sent to the address you have registered with us. If you contact us via PM within 48 hours of graduating from newbie status you may be permitted to have the username changed to one of your choosing at the discretion of the administration team.

After the 48 hour grace period has ended, you will NOT be able to change your username again until you have reached the minimum requirements that all members are subject to - one year of membership, 4000 posts and NO active warnings.

Ignorance of this rule is not valid grounds for creating multiple accounts.
