Default Deaths in Deathly Hallows

It was predicted for ages who would die in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Well, now, we know what the real truth is! This is the thread where you can talk about all of those favorite morbid topics: who died, how they died, what you liked about it, and what you hated about it. Just ... the deaths in general. Great, isn't it?

Make sure you check out the forum rules before posting in here!

I thought I'd make it a little easier for everyone:

Charity Burbage
Hedwig
Alastor "Mad-eye" Moody
Ted Tonks
Rufus Scrimgeour
Bathilda Bagshot
Peter "Wormtail" Pettigrew
Dobby the House Elf
Crabbe
Colin Creevey
Fred Weasley
Fenrir Greyback
Remus Lupin
Nymphadora Tonks
Severus Snape
Harry Potter - well kind of
Nagini
Bellatrix Lestrange
Tom Marvolo "Voldemort" Riddle

Ok. I was so sad when Fred, Tonks, Lupin, Mad Eye, and Hedwig died. I wasn't so sad when Snape died. But I love the Weasley twin's so I was sad.

This book was so full of it!I cried when Hedwig died, and then again when moody died. Then we go on with life, and it's all cheery at the wedding, death eaters come and ruin the happiness, its so damn gloomy! And then Fred dies :'( I felt kinda betrayed. And then Crabbe died(oh who cares!) I mean I never liked Crabbe, out of all the times he could pick NOT to listen to Draco,he picks that time.Suppose it's his own fault though.I kinda wondered why Harry came back to life.I understood it,but it just didn't seem right.Moony and Tonks shouldn't have died,me and my sister cried for ages over that! And poor Neville with Voldemort, and the sorting hat the snake and yeah.Colin!Nooo!I felt happy and sad about Bellatrix dying.Glad was Molly who finished her,but I just liked the character of Bella so much!I think the death that made me cry the most was a tie between Dobby and Fred.I liked Dobby,he rocked, and Fred...Well,he's fred! Now I can't say "Fred and George" now I can only say "George".And that makes Weasley's Wizard Wheezes Weasley Wizard Wheeze.RIP Fred :bnawtf: :sevribbon: Sorry for all the random emoticons...But I am sad Snape died too.My dad was being Anal about Snape "He's a good guy!" "No dad,he's not a good guy. He's OK I mean he can be good when he wants to be,but he treats everyone like crap!" he laughed when Fred died(My dad) So horrible.

The three deaths that moved me the most were: Fred Weasley, Dobby, and Lupin.

Fred: He was one half of the dynamic duo. The brothers we had throughout these books. I felt I'd lost my own other half. And George--my heart broke for him. He lost his best friend and confidante. And the other Weasleys: they lost a beloved family member. Fred's death just put the war into perspective for me. I understand why Rowling had to do it; war touches everybody's lives, and innocent people are not spared just for the sake of their family members.

Dobby: He did so much for Harry. Granted, his methods were not always orthodox, and he hindered Harry more than he helped him, but still. Dobby loved Harry very much, and would have done anything to help him. And I am very glad Harry recognized this. His burial is really what reduced me to tears. Harry, digging Dobby's tiny grave by himself because it was something he had to do alone. He had to give Dobby a proper good-bye.

Lupin: Lupin was heartbreaking, although we never saw him actually die, just his body stretched out among the other dead. But he was Harry's last remaining link to his parents. Lupin was the last of the Marauders. He was Harry's lifeline. And now Harry has lost every last tangible, living link to understanding and "knowing" his parents. He will never be able to ask Lupin what his dad did when he was angry. He will never be able to go to Lupin for advice on how to raise a child. He will never be able to talk to Lupin about James or Lily again. That clenched it for me. I burst into tears at this one.

Ughgh.. I hate that anyone good had to die. And I think some where just so unnecessary. Mostly Hedwig and Dobby. And I wish that Lupin and Tonks and Fred could have lived!!! That was awful! Moody seemed like an appropriate death, not that I wouldn't prefer him living, it just seemed that he had a good reason to be killed. Like they suspected Harry to be with him. That makes sense. But the others were just sad. I thought it was cool how Harry had to kind of die.. That was interesting. I got to tell people that he died without lying, but without giving anything away really. And I wish Snape didn't have to die. We ended up liking him in the end, it would have been cool to see him come over for family dinners and stuff if they became friendly now that Harry knew the truth. Oh well... ): ):

Charity Burbage- Really didn't care about this lol.
Hedwig- With Hedwig, I realized that DH was going to be a blood bath!
Alastor "Mad-eye" Moody- I really don't know how I felt about his death. He certainly would have been a good aset to Harry.
Ted Tonks- He really didn't play a big role in the story.
Rufus Scrimgeour- This was pretty much expected, since Voldemort told us his plan from the beginning.
Bathilda Bagshot- Not really important to me.
Peter "Wormtail" Pettigrew- I was like "Yay!"
Dobby the House Elf - I think about cried with Dobby. So sad!!
Crabbe- I was happy one of the Malfoy gang died!
Colin Creevey- I seriously thought he was underage...when I read it, I kept thinking that he shouldn't have been there.
Fred Weasley- Ah, that was another sad moment. This was a Weasley, you can't just get rid of them that easily.
Fenrir Greyback- Another bad guy dead!
Remus Lupin-
Nymphadora Tonks-Both Lupin and Tonks were sad to read, although I thought it was pretty cool that Harry was put in charge of their son.
Severus Snape- He was a heroic which had to die.
Harry Potter - well kind of- I was shocked when I read it. I seriously thought Rowling had killed him off!
Nagini- I hate snakes so I'm glad it died!
Bellatrix Lestrange- Goodbye!
Tom Marvolo "Voldemort" Riddle- Apart of me thought that Harry would be able to redeem Tom, but I wasn't complaining.

"After all this time?" | "Always"

Charity: I felt bad she died. She had involvement in the war what so ever, and Voldemort killed her just for the fun of it..
Hedwig: Oh, poor Hedwig... ;__; So innocent. She was Harry's one companion since the beginning, and her death wasn't called for... but it opened your eyes and made you realize just what was at stake here.
Mad-Eye Moody: I knew his risks were high, and though he wasn't one of my favorites, I still liked him, and cried a little when he died. And with Umbridge taking his eye, I got angry. Way to disrespect the dead.
Scrimgeour: Wasn't really a fan of him, but I respect the way he died protecting Harry. Voldemort was planning to kill him anyway, but it still made me kind of sad.
Bathilda: Sad she was killed months before and had her body used with a snake inside her.. -shudder-
Peter Pettigrew: I was slightly appalled at this, actually. I disliked Wormtail for what he'd done, but I'd been waiting for that debt he owed Harry to come in handy. And it did, but.. as soon as he showed mercy, his own hand killed him. I mainly felt bad for Harry because he tried to save him, and Peter felt some regret. So that made me feel bad for him when otherwise I wouldn't have.
Dobby: Cried so hard with Dobby. All he did was protect Harry and Bellatrix killed him. ;__; So, so sad.
Crabbe: He was unpleasant, worse than Draco I think, but because he was still a living thing, I felt a little bad for him dying, and pretty much it was his own fault. But after he tried to kill Hermione, he kind of brought it on himself. :/
Colin: Poor Colin. ;__; Cried for him a couple tears too. "He was tiny in death" ... sad.
Fred: Freeed. T__T Cried a good twenty minutes before I could continue.
Lupin and Tonks: This was mentioned in passing, but I felt like Harry. It felt like something had closed in on me.
Snape: WAHHH. At first, I was completely SHOCKED that Voldemort killed him. Then angry. Then I cried. I cried all the way through the Prince's Tale, knowing he was dead, and because his story made me feel so much empathy for him and his instantly became one of my top favorites. Poor Severus.
Harry: This can be counted a death I think. It was partial-death, at least. I cannot tell you how long, or how hard, I cried for this. No.. sobbed. I sobbed. At like, 3 in the morning for at least an hour before I could continue. Nothing affected me like that chapter.
Nagini: Cheered, because that meant last Horcrux down, but then after, I felt a pang of guilt, lol.
Bellatrix: She was definitely a lunatic, and I really didn't feel too bad for her. The way she taunted Miss Weasley - and as soon as she did, I knew that was coming - made me feel nothing for her.
Voldemort: I was hoping Voldemort would get some slight redemption. Or, at least, Tom would. I cried Tom died. I didn't cry for Voldemort, though. He brought upon his own death, through his many mistakes, and Harry offered him remorse. Voldemort never learned from his mistakes, and in the end, the only one he could blame was himself. However, I feel sorry for the way he died and what became of him, because he could have changed, saved himself, but he didn't. In Tom, there was a chance, but because Voldemort was so much stronger, there was no more light left, no more chance. And I am sorry for that.

Fred, Snape, Lupin's death are the shockers.*tears*Though I don't know why, but I kinda sad for Voldemort's death. Knew it will come, but I just feel sad for his death too.

I cried when Fred, Tonks and Lupin died. Fred and George were my favorite characters and reading how he died right by Percy who had just been forgiven made me lose control. My heart also went out when the last reference of Tonks is her going after Lupin leaving Teddy under her mother's care. I think it was wise of Rowling to kill some of the popular characters, especially when Fred died it showed the seriousness of it all.

I didn't have any expectations on whether Harry lived or died since having either or would make sense, Harry dying saving or trying to save everyone or Harry living after vanquishing Voldermort. It was pretty ingenious when she combined the possible outcomes, Harry got some closure with his dead friends and family and finally got peace.

That made me sad too.

To me, they were the replacements for the change of heart JKR had when she decided that Arthur won't die in OOTP.

Someone had already told me fred died befor i read DH so i knew it was coming. Freds death makes me really really sad for George. Twinless. Whenever i read it i get a massive lump in my throat and have to read a F&G part from an earlier book to 'bring him back to life' i hate getting to that part of DH I read it the other day in school and got really depressed. I think it would be better if they both died- they would be together. I'm almost crying now

I was extremely sad that Fred died. Both because I love the Weasley twins as characters and that his death split up the brother's bond with eachother.

Remus & Tonks deaths really shocked me. It was really sad to know that their son would never meet his parents just like Harry. However, I was extremely devastated when Severus was murdered. He had the worst death in the series. Later knowing that how much he had loved Lily even till the end of his life.

I know that I will cry when Fred dies. And I cryed when dobby and hedwig died. But I'm just glad that none of the main characters die properly. Like Ron or hermione, or Neville, luna and ginny. I mean Harry dies, but I know he comes back to life so that's not really sad. It would be horrible If it was a dramatic death to hermione and bellatrix had killed her in malfoy manor, or If Ron died when hermione was going to be killed by bellatrix's knife, but he pushed her out of the way and it killed him. That would be horrible.

Harry was the last horcrux. When he was one, voldemort tried to kill him, but he transported a bit of his soul into Harry by accident. That's why he's a parslemouth and he can hear voices in his head. That's why when he tried to kill him in the Forrest, the horcrux was kind of like a protective shield. Some people could say that he had two lives. But when voldemort tried to kill him in the Forrest, voldemort collapsed didn't he? That's because he was growing weaker and weaker as more and more of his horcruxes where being destroyed. But as for the thing in the corner of kings cross station, I'm not actually sure what it is, but I have a hunch that it was voldemort before he had a body. Remember in the 4th film when wormtail dropped a bundle of flesh into the potion in the graveyard? I think that was what it was. I imagine he looked disgusting. :S
