If you're not familiar with the film, the premise is that a young boy is saved from drowning by an adorable mermaid girl and then falls in love with her 20 years later when she returns to seek him out but things are made all complicated and icky by scheming scientist. I haven't watched it in a while but there are some specific moments that live rent free in my head nonetheless aaaaaaaaand Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah are incredibly charming in it. So, yes. Yay.
