Ginny glared at Draco, over the top of her potted plant. If the two of them had not been in the greenhouse, she would have grabbed him by the collar and shaken him. -- He knew she hated it when he teased her, like that. Especially when she hadn't put on weight. "Git," she said, with a roll of her eyes. He grinned in reply, and turned away. They did, after all, have a task to do - if he let her carry him away, now, the Herbology Professor would want his head on a plaque. |
Theme #2: Muggle Studies George’s eyes widened at the picture he saw. He started to poke Angelina on her perfect face. “What. Is. It. Now. George?” “Muggles use a jepek!” Angelina’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion. George sighed and pointed to a picture of a person flying around in the sky with a jetpack on its back. “See they can fly! Muggles can fly!” Angelina cleared her throat, trying to cover her laughter. She shook her head, no. “Yes they can. We wizards use brooms and muggles use jepeks!” Angelina giggled a bit and kissed his cheek. -- Maybe I should act dumb more often. |
http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i9...e/drabble2.jpg Theme # 3: Transfiguration Professor McGonagall cleared her throat. Loudly. "Sorry, professor," the fifth-year mumbled. "It won't happen again." The Transfiguration teacher turned away, and the green-eyed girl looked at her hands, certainly not too happily. She did not see his lips curl into a grin, did not see him lean back in his chair to inspect her, but maybe it was better she did not - he gave her toothache. Err, heartache. * "Leave me alone, Stella." Stella Williams raised an eyebrow. "Why the heck are you so tangy, today?" She made to turn away - nearly walked into Oliver Wood. He grinned. |
Theme #30: Feast Cormac sighed. Lavender Brown. Cormac turned towards Lavender and touched the patterned fabric of her shirt. “Hello Cormac.” “I want you to distract Weasley from Granger.” -- Lavender smiled as if she just saw a new row of bandanas in Madam Malkins. “Let’s begin.” The two turned and watched as Hermione laughed as Ron spilled jelly on his shirt. Hermione had grabbed a napkin and started to wipe it off his mouth. They watched as Hermione started to stare at Ron, getting closer and closer. -- In result, Harry had coughed interrupting their moment. This is never going to work. |
http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i9...ss100min2i.jpg Theme # 4: Ancient Runes She picks up her Ancient Runes textbook, stuffs it in her bag, and rises to her feet. She is not too happy, and you wonder why she is not joyous, when the boy she has been in love with for four years has, at long last, asked her out. But follow her, see her dip her feet into the lake, bury her head in her arms - follow her, and peek into her heart -- and you will see why she is so unhappy. Because she has said 'yes' to someone else, only half an hour ago. Someone she does not love. |
Theme #87: Plaid The sound of an alarm was heard exactly at 8:00 A.M. The sound of a boy turning over and yelling at his lateness could be heard throughout the entire Gryffindor Common Room. You could watch him run out of the boy’s dormitory and into the Great Hall. If you were this boy; this third year; you would feel sorry for him. Laughter, everywhere, laughing only at him. Oh no. “Oi! What are you laughing at?” “Seamus, you’re in your…your…your boxers!” Seamus blushed at Parvati’s words and looked down. Like she said he was in his boxers... --his plaid boxers. |
Theme # 5: Astronomy Big, bright eyes. Big, very bright eyes. "You look ... quite happy," Ginny blinked, at Luna. Who turned round and blinked back with big, really bright eyes that reminded Ginny of moons. Astronomy and stuff. How ... disturbing. "Luna?" "Mmmm?" Luna sat down on the grass by the lake, and crossed her legs, one over the other. "Yes?" "Is everything ... okay?" There was certainly an edge of curiosity to Ginny's tones. Not idle curiosity, though. More like an anxious, sort-of-stunned one. Luna clapped her hands, then nodded all excitedly. "Ron asked me out!" Ginny fell, flat, on her face. |
Theme #23: Telescope Victoires’ blonde hair blew in the wind as she looked out the telescope from the Astronomy Tower. Someone had cleared their throat behind her and her head whipped around facing Teddy. “Victoire?” “Yes Teddy?” “Erm...the stars are beautiful out tonight.” Teddy said nervously, walking towards her while looking at the sky, causing him to trip over her bag and landing on his face. Victoire giggled and helped him back up to his feet. “Why yes they are Teddy.” Teddy brushed himself off and smiled at Victoire. “You know what’s even prettier than the stars?” Victoire thought but just shrugged. “You.” |
Theme # 6: Divination What a tiring practice match! The famous chaser patted his broomstick, shouldered it. -- Time to head back home. * "'Evening, sweetheart." She flung her arms round him the moment he stepped in, and Marcus grinned. "Well?" Alicia Spinnet-Flint asked. "Well?" he replied. She raised an eyebrow. "Marcus!" "What?" He gave her a totally innocent look. "You're supposed to tell me you love me!" she glared. "Or - or -" "Or what?" "Or I'll remind you of the time you got a T on your Divination OWL, and nearly sobbed your heart out!" That wiped the smirk off his face, alright. |
Theme #48: Leprechaun “Scorpius, where are we going? I can’t see anything in this blindfold!” Rose Malfoy said tugging on the scratchy piece of fabric. “Don’t worry my dear, a few more steps.” Scorpius said watching as Rose shivered a bit from the cool March air. “Okay here we are.” Rose took the blindfold off and was practically speechless..not. “A leprechaun? A leprechaun? To think I actually thought you were going to take me out to a nice restaurant, but no you bring me out to see a fake leprechaun in a muggle store!” Scorpius sighed. “I wanted to know what it was…” |
Theme # 12: Charms Dean Thomas was exhausted, but Padma paid this little attention. There were big shades pushed up her forehead, and she was the reason he continued to trudge on. "How much farther?" He asked, finally refusing to walk even one more step. Padma turned around. "Dean Thomas! You are NOT going to ruin this, for me! You will photograph a lion cub for me; and I will get to show the pictures off, and tell my friends what an amazing time I had, with you, camping in the wild and --" Dean rolled his eyes. Padma pouted -- won him over, straight away. |
Theme #62: Lope Narcissa flipped back her blonde hair, strutting down the aisleway of her wedding, dragging along her old, wrinkled father. Her parents arranged this marriage; she was to wed Lucius Malfoy. Speaking of her parents, her mum was seated in the first row along with Lucius’ parents as well. Being eighteen years of age and getting married to such a man as Lucius was horrid. However if she didn’t say yes she would be forced to marry that disgusting fool called Longbottom. She shivered in thought and walked up the two steps, facing Lucius. “You may now kiss the bride.” *Shiver* |
Theme # 7: Care of Magical Creatures The feeling of hatred was mutual: the Slytherins were angry that their Care of Magical Creatures classes had been scheduled with the Gryffindors; and vice-versa. Blaise Zabini, Slytherin god of vanity number two - the first was obviously Draco Malfoy. You couldn't beat him, on that point - agreed with his housemates that it was an idiotic decision to have the two houses study together. But he couldn't say he wasn't glad, when the sixth year Slytherins were paired up with fifth year Gryffindors, for a project. It meant he would get to see Ginny Weasley, after all. |
Theme #46: Dungeon Harry was in detention; all because he tried to ask Cho Chang to the Yule Ball. Why were they in detention? The answer to that question is Professor Snape. “Cho, would you like me to help you?” “Oh, no thank you.” “This place is a dungeon! We’re locked in here until we scrub the entire floor! This is going to take hours!” “Ron, be quiet. It’s your fault we’re in here anyways.” “That’s not fair, Harry. Just because you wanted to ask Cho to the ball-“ --A clatter of buckets and water could be heard as Harry attacked Ron. |
Theme # 89: Past There are things you don't do, if you are a pureblood. There are things you mustn't do, if you are a Parkinson. Pansy Parkinson did not know how it happened. She had thought him a lanky blood-traitor - called him a lanky blood-traitor - at one point. But the more she got to know him, the more she thought of him; the more she regretted the past she had built up for herself. The red hair - that cheeky grin - his courage -- little pieces of a picture she adored, though she knew she must not. George Weasley. |
Theme #82: Careful Bellatrix Lestrange walked into the dark, gloomy room that awaited her presence. She took a seat upon the chair and awaited her master. They truly had a love-hate relationship. He entered. Bellatrix started, clearing her throat and whispering in a careful voice. Yes she had to be careful, for her words might anger her love. “The boy is rumored to be traveling with the mudblood and is to be heading towards Godric Hollow tonight. I can…help you kill-” “I am the only one who is to kill Harry Potter.” His voice thundered throughout the room. Careful, just wasn’t good enough. |
Theme # 8: Potions Potions in the dungeons scared Colin Creevey. The first year tried to make himself invisible behind his brand new camera this term round, but the plan failed miserably: the said camera caught Snape's eye the moment the Potions Master stepped into the classroom, and ten points from Gryffindor later, Colin had sunk two inches further in his seat, eyes barely visible above his desk. "Don't feel bad," a voice whispered in his ear. "Everyone knows Snape's ole and grouchy." Colin turned, saw her big, blue eyes, her neat, blonde pigtails, and it was love at first sight. |
Theme #42: Portraits Fred Weasley was sick. Disgustingly, dreadful sick and it didn’t help that he sleep walked at night. The red-haired boy walked down the stairs, wobbling from side to side. His eyes were open and he stopped in front of a portrait that seemed fairly different. “Katie, you know, I quite fancy you.” He stated, going off into incoherent rambling of words. The portrait, had the picture of an ugly beastling, however once George started to talk to it, it changed; into the picture of young Katie Bell. No answer had come from the portrait. “Why won’t you answer me, Katie?” |
Theme # 50: Boggart Cho had only seen a boggart once, and then she had fainted. She had discovered, on regaining consciousness, that she did not remember what the boggart had changed into. No surprise, then, that she felt cold, even numb, as she kicked open the rattling cupboard in front of her now - at twenty-three years of age, she still feared her fears. The door sprang open, Cho took a step forward - and screamed. Lying there, right in front of her, was Cedric, eyes wide open and staring at the ceiling. Tears leaking down her cheeks, she fled out of the room. |
Theme #21: Veela Fleur Delacour was one of the most beautiful veelas out there and she would not let anyone get past her without knowing. She happened to have moved over to Romania, to study more about dragons. Why dragons? Dragons happened to suffice her knowledge about their existence since the Triwizard Tournament a couple of years ago. “Sir, can you help me?” “Help, Miss? Why would you ever need help?” “Well a gentleman would always know to help a veela out, especially me.” From that day on Mr. Bill Weasley helped out Miss Fleur Delacour, a.k.a. veela, for the rest of her life. |
Theme # 13: Quidditch "Evans!" Lily turned around, eyes already narrowed. James Potter happened to be such a huge pain in the neck, she could tell his voice from a mile off, and a crowd of ten million. He shouldered an expensive-looking broomstick right now, hair [no surprise] windswept, a snitch struggling in his closed palm. His stupid Quidditch look, the one that made [some really stupid, in Lily's opinion] girls swoon. "No, Potter," she said, before he could say anything else. "I am not going on a date with you." "Seven o' clock, The Three Broomsticks," James grinned as he left. |
Theme #95: Snowball Pansy Parkinson loved Draco Malfoy. “Dracikins, did you hear about how the mudblood Granger hurt me today? She left this scratch on me!” Draco, trying to find a way to get out of Pansy’s hold upon him, merely nodded and headed outside. If only a distraction would come and help him out of this misery. Suddenly, a snowball came out of the sky and hit Pansy straight in the head, knocking her down to the ground. Pansy, being slightly weak, was unconscious, leaving Draco to stare at Pansy’s figure upon the ground and walk away as if nothing even happened. |
I tried to write some *actual* H/G, I really did, but I think I failed. xD Theme # 98: Pyjamas Ginny had dreamed about this for ages. Harry telling her he loved her. But now, as he tumbled into the common room and muttered this, Ginny could only stare at him, pupils huuuge... only stare at him, and then grab him by the shoulders and shake him. "Wake up, Harry! Wake up!" Harry's eyes flew open. He looked down and realized he was in his pyjamas, looked up and realized he had been mumbling God-knows-what to a mortified-looking Ginny, looked around and realized he had been sleepwalking --- and blushed. "Sorry," he muttered. Ginny could only shrug. |
Theme #69: Slap Even though Hermione had seen Lavender and Ron snog in the Gryffindor Common Room, the worst thing was that Ronald was talking about her behind her back. And yet, he was dating Lavender all at the same time! Revenge. Hermione walked outside to the Quidditch Pitch, her heels stomping against the ground; killing the grass; as she walked over to Ron, who was talking to Harry about who knows what, and grabbed his arm, making him face her. Right then and there, Hermione Granger slapped Ron across the face. She never felt so independent and regretful in her entire life. |
Theme # 20: Hogsmeade "But Rosmerta, my dear -" The landlady shifted her gaze to the man in front of her. Slim, hazel-eyed, face framed by golden-brown curls, The Three Broomsticks mistress usually presented a beautiful and cheerful sight. Right now, however, her gaze had a piercing touch to it. "I said no, Horace," she said firmly. Slughorn frowned, a frown of disappointment. "I hope you rethink your decision, Rosmerta," he said, giving his head an almost regal shake. "Your presence could positively enliven a Slug Club meeting. It could -" She let him rant on because she knew he knew he wasn't fooling her. |
Theme #53: Chase Ever since Lee Jordan laid eyes on Miss Angelina Johnson, well he loved Quidditch even more. “Ten points to Gryffindor!” He yelled. Lee’s eyes searched for Angelina through the teenagers upon their brooms. He finally spotted her, his eyes chasing to keep his sight on her as she flew through the air at lightning speed. Before he knew it, Angelina was laying down upon the ground, due to someone knocking her off her broom. The Gryffindor raced down to where she was, realizing that he had gotten there late. Fred Weasley had stolen his girl away: from his chasing heart. |
Theme # 78: Author's choice Bellatrix had loved him for as long as she could remember. She had been young, not even seventeen, the first time she had been tried [and sentenced] and, though others might have hated him for it, for being the cause of their downfall, she had not. Even in that terrible place, the love had lingered in some dark, shadowy corner of her mind. Is it possible to love a killer? Bellatrix, once beautiful, proud and arrogant but not a killer, definitely not a killer until she had met him, could give you the answer, and give it, unashamed: it is. |
Theme #19: Wand As Sirius Black was finished with his insults on Mr. Severus Snape for the day, he took a stroll through Hogwarts, as usual. The Gryffindor spotted a group of girls and knew exactly what to do. “Good Afternoon.” He said wiggling his eyebrows. He remembered one girl had fainted in his presence before; almost like he had casted Stupefy with his wand at her. Of course he didn’t though, he was harmless and wouldn’t do such a thing. “Would you ladies like to stroll through the grounds with me?” Ah yes, the obsession of girls was quite lovely for him. |
Theme # 70: Team He is a blur, less than a blur, and it seems impossible that anyone might make him out in the thundering, clapping rain. Even Lee Jordan, excellent at recognizing players in all sorts of weathers, has a pair of omnioculars out. But she doesn't need a device to track his progress. She can tell which yellow dot is the handsome Cedric Diggory, captain of this year's Hufflepuff Quidditch team, tell you at any point in the match. Her dark hair falls in curls around her face, and her eyes are bright and alive. Cho Chang is in love. |
Theme #76: Zap Seamus walked around the Gryffindor Common Room, rubbing his feet against the carpet. Every few seconds he would get a strange look from Padma, but he would ignore it and continue on. The Gryffindor walked over to his girlfriend and took a seat upon the couch next to her, quickly poking her in the arm. Nothing happened. Padma smiled and rubbed her feet upon the carpet about three times. She turned back towards Seamus and poked him on the nose. Zap. She gave him an innocent look and kissed him on the cheek, returning to the book she was reading. |
Theme # 84: Angry True winter had burst into life, in a splendid show of snowfall. Sometime during the night, the ground had disappeared under sheets over sheets of pure, sparkling white. Snowflakes fell to the ground even now, soft and silent. Most would have called the scene beautiful. For Tonks, it was anything but. "You can't." Her voice was low, silent, disbelieving. Then it was angry. "You can't do this to me, Remus. We can discuss this -" "There's nothing left to discuss." His voice was calm. Polite. Indifferent? She wondered if she would ever enjoy the sight of snow, again. |
