Haha yes, but different accents interpret vowel sounds differently too, just to make it even more fun and games æ vs ɐ vs a vs ä vs ɛ and so forth

Is it just me and Minnesota or is Dragon sounded with a long A? or even 'bag'? we still argue over that xD

Oh Merlin, what did I just walk into?

Liz can now say some words properly (according to me) and has started using those sounds in normal conversation, but again, with British accents, things can sound different. If you're from the north, certain sounds are different and if you're from the south, it's very varied. I'm a sort of mix between the two, but my accent changes to a northern one when I speak to a northerner.

And Liz? Dragon. It's dragon, short a. Not draygon, long a. Same with bag.

A draygon! That's cute One of my fave resources for seeing some differences in accents and dialects in the UK is here, because I can hear where regional accents have effected how we sound in my country, because of the people that settled here and everything.

Liz, I think it's just you and Minn. because most of the people I've ever spoken to say 'a' in dragon like the 'a' in bag...... and I'm from the South which has notoriously bad pronunciation all around

That said, I sound like I'm from Boston, oddly enough *shug*

I was born in Liverpool and live right next to it, my whole family have scouse accents, so you would expect me to have one too, but honestly, I sound really posh, it's odd considering where I was born, and the fact I have never been anywhere else where people have my accent, I sound like I am from the south of England rather than the north.

I have an Irish accent. It sounds horrible and unprofessional. The accents in south of Ireland are a lot softer than the northern ones.

I don't think I even have an accent at all. If I do it is very subtle and would be considered a boring one for sure.

My accents is a pretty weird and confusing one. People always ask me if I am from England because I do definitely sound British. However I grew up watching American shows so for some reason I can pronounce some word only in an American accent.

To top it all off, I am Dutch and since so many words are written the exact same way in Dutch and English, I sometimes have a very Dutch accent for those words..

I even confuse myself.

Some of my friends say I have a Southern Drawl, but if I do I have no idea where that comes from because I have never lived in the South in my life.

I was born in Ireland, but moved away when I was 4. I was of course talking when I moved so I still have that accent going, but I have also picked up the accent of the Natives from Greenland. They sound kind of Danish even when they speak there own language of Greenlandic which I don't understand.

Scottish! and being from the North-East of Scotland it's one of the most confusing for outsiders to understand. It's almost like another language sometimes
