Hi everyone, I'm one of your mods to meet for the month of January!
My name is Tegz, which is short for Tegan and I've been on SS and totally addicted since 2008. Here on SS I can most often be found in the Wizarding World RPG. Within the School RPG I am currently the Charms Professor and Editor of the SSRPG Yearbook . I am also the Department Head of Magical Law Enforcement for the Ministry of Magic RPG (and placement starts soon! Come and play!). My RPG history has been pretty full. I have been Ravenclaw Prefect, Head Girl, Ravenclaw Seeker, Quidditch Reserve, a writer for Aparecium, The Quill and a Features Editor for the Daily Prophet. I also hold the record as the highest house points earner in Snitchseeker history (term 21 with 1366 points).
Aside from the RPGs, I am a Newbie forum mod (here to help you guys and make sure your posts are legitimate before you get to be a full member) and I run the Quibbler forum (and interview and select the Member of the Month), which is an awesome forum especially for members and contains interviews, updates and games all designed to focus on our community, which you'll soon find is second to none. Don't worry you'll be able to see it soon!
In real life I'm a Kiwi! Nope not the fruit and not the bird; I live in New Zealand, that place where Lord of the Rings was filmed. I'm a bit of a movie buff and even worked at a cinema for six years. Currently I'm a university student, but am on my break until March. I'm studying English and Linguistics and loving it.

New Zealand eh? Aside from Lord of the Rings my all time favorite TV show, Xena Warrior Princess was filmed there! Have you ever seen it? The main character played by Lucy Lawless is a Kiwi too!

I have a tendency to choose minor characters for favouriting but I'm going to go against my own tendencies and say Haymitch.
Haymitch, to me, is one of those brilliant characters that you start out underestimating, or even outright disdaining, and it isn't really until you're a good way into the story, and start the second book *tries to do this with no spoilers* that you really get more of a glimpse into his character and how his weaknesses are actually driven by his strengths in the sense that he cares SO much that he can't bear it, so he does things to try to suppress the pain of caring. He's also sort of a pillar of strength and I think that Katniss needs him more than she ever acknowledges. He's sort of a reflection of her, and he does his best to stop her from being as jaded as he is.... and I think its inevitable that he doesn't quite succeed.
WHICH AND WHY? Well.
Generally the answer is Celandine I think everyone has a soft spot for their first charrie and I HAVE been RPing her for ELEVEN years in the RP and going on four years real time.
But right now I'm enjoying Althea, she's just a bit different and its refreshing lol.

WHICH DISTRICT?
That isn't an EASY question. I am totally baffled. I can't think of an answer. None of them are EASY enough places for my liking. I like my life EASY and would CRY CRY CRY in a DISTRICT.
And I'm not perfect enough for the Capitol.
Can I say I'd rather live off the map? In like....... OH I COULD LIVE IN NZ! since Panam is America.... who knows how things are out my way?

...... Fred I think. I actually like Sirius more but I think Fred's was more tragic, and I wouldn't want to save ONE of Lupin or Tonks. That would be sad. And the books wouldn't be the same if Harry's parents were saved, and I think Dumbledore had to die in some ways, and it'd be weird to choose to save any of the bad guys... so I choose Fred.

You know I don't know if I can remember all of them off the top of my head but.... pretty much the entire cast of LOTR at some point or another, Peter Jackson, Brad Bird, Guillermo del Toro, Roland Emmerich, Andrew Adamson Seth Green, Matthew Lillard, Dax Shepard, Antony Starr-who-is-my-hero, Karl Urban, Michelle Rodriguez.... I used to live and work in the capital city here, first at a cinema where I met a good number of them, and then a video store and a book store all right in the centre of the city. I've met other people that might not be counted as 'celebrities' but are big in the fim industry, producers along with the directors I listed, and a lot of people from the art dept at Weta workshop since I used to source/order the old dvds/graphic novels/etc for them when they were doing research on things like.... The Adventures of Tin-Tin. Its amazing how many international faces I've run into really.

Its both my biggest peeve and my favourite thing about English as a language... the inconsistencies and how they show the roots of how English became what it is right now.

As for film.... Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is always on my top list, regardless of whether or not it happens to be number one.

I DID make ice cream. It was pretty cool. For this company, which used to be part of the cinema I worked at. If you go to the flavours page you'll see the ones I ended up learning by heart pretty much, as you do from making stuff all the time, but when I got creative it was usually when there weren't enough ingredients for all the standard flavours and we needed at least ten DIFFERENT flavours so I'd.... mix them together. Or I'd go to the wholesaler and get some random thing on special. So we did Butterscotch Chocolate Chip cookie (vanilla ice cream, with butterscotch swirl and chocolate chip cookies. Like cookies and cream with a twist really, Cinnamon Apple, caramel nut (vanilla ice cream, caramel swirl, mixed nuts), Banana Split (which was banana ice cream, chocolate swirl and nuts.... kinda like the Banana Fudge listed, but we added the nuts yep), White chocolate berry blast (white chocolate flavoured ice cream with caramel and berry swirl and whole berries), strawberry shortcake (strawberry icecream with strawberry and biscuit swirl) and yeah XD
Also I find it funny they still list my old work as one of their 'locations' because Copenhagen stopped being made/used when I left there.... in 2009. Heeeheee.

I'm a reader and a writer so the English part was an easy choice, as for Linguistics, when I was in.... what is my country's equivalent to Hogwarts 5th year (easiest way to explain it lol) the Dean of our English department had just returned from a six month trip around Europe tracing the paths of influence (and invasion routes) that contributed to how English developed as a language, and she did a three hour talk/presentation on etymology and we HAD to attend as part of our grade...
... and I was enraptured the entire time. Just SO interested. So I've always held this idea that I wanted to learn about things like that, but then when I enrolled for English and discovered there were some awesome looking Linguistics papers TOO.... well I just had to sign myself up for that as well.
