Meet Nymphadoraliz Hello everyone! My name is Liz and I'm excited to be Mod of the month for the month of August! I started on the site 10 1/2 years ago playing in the school, Diagon Alley and ministry. Over the last few years I was asked to become a mod in The Burrow and ICW. I also play the MLE department head in the Ministry of Magic, and am a reporter for the Daily Prophet. I have had other roles such as shopkeeper of Primpernelles and Yearbook writer as well. I'm a student currently just starting at university. I'm going for elementary education and hope eventually to have a master's in psychology. I've been married 21 years this October and I have 5 children, one who is adopted, and have homeschooled my kids for going on 17 years this fall. I still homeschool my youngest who is in 7th grade. The others are all graduated and in or out of college. I love animals, HP, crafts, photography and so much more. Come find out more about me! Quote:

:hello: Hi Liz!! A few questions for you... 1: What do you love most about homeschooling your kids? I'm also a homeschool mom 2: What type of crafting do you enjoy the most? 3: Who has been your favorite charrie you have played on SS? |

1. Oh gosh that's awesome! I love hearing from people here who are homeschool parents! My favorite part? I'd say being able to take them anywhere just to show them something new. We do a ton of traveling all over the country and even to Europe, just so the kids get to see the geography in person. 2. That's really hard! I love to bead jewelry with tiny seed beads but as of late my fingers aren't doing so well. So I'd have to say photography is the one I enjoy the most now. The travel we do encourages that! 3. This is a hard question too! I can't even think of how many I've had here on SS. I'd say at least 30 or more! My student charrie is a second generation from my previous department head and I love her family. We have such a long back story that I've enjoyed playing out. But yet my first character was awesome too! And had a big backstory we put together. I'm going to say......JD Stevenson, he was my second student charrie. He's now in the states and married too. Some reasons: 1. he had a fight in the Ravenclaw common room 2. played seeker almost every year he was on the team 3. dressed as Peterpan at the costume party 4. Had detention and got wrapped up in spaghetti noodles 5. Threw a pie in the face of a really |
Hey Liz! How did your kids like homeschooling? What online school did you school them through? I was homeschooled as a child then went to a private school and was later taken out to be homeschooled again and I graduated from my online program. Needless to say I hated it, but it has its benefits. I want to homeschool my son, he’s 1, what activities did you do with your babies to keep them interested in learning at home? |

We used many programs, some book and some online, usually Abeka or BJU for books and SOS for online and even Abeka online for a time. My youngest is on the edge of wanting to and not wanting to  I think he really just wants to ride a bus :xd: The way I kept them enjoying it and still do is I take them to places not just tell them about it. I do activities that involve hands on, so they get to try it first hand too ^_^ |
Hello Liz! My name is Astrya, it's a pleasure to meet you! I was curious about a few things: 1. Who was your first RP character? 2. How did they come to be and do you still use them? 3. Are they based off anyone from your favorite books or tv or movies? |
Quote:
1. My very first was Liz Merelda, she was a Ravenclaw student here on SS! 2. I had absolutely no idea what RPing was back in 2007 and I just picked a random name and liked how it sounded. I am amused looking back at old RPs as I had no idea what I was doing! But it was fun! I do still use her on occasion but she's sort of a loner as all those she RP'd with aren't really around anymore :( 3. She was a metamorphmagus so I would say I played along with Tonks a bit, as she's my favorite character in the series! |
