Hi everyone,

My name is Nabiya, familiarly known as Nabs site-wide and also off-site, and I've been a moderator on SS for 6/7 years now, and a member for 8/9? I've always been bad with numbers, so don't count on me for those lol.

Pun intended.

Anyway, ask me anything and I will try my very best to answer it seriously.

I did indeed consult with the leaves about this, long ago in December, and they fortold that this month would be most conducive to receiving answers.

Funny how that works out, don't you think?

Well... it took me all of 3 seconds to cast around and find a weird memory... but I think the strangest thing we've ever done was Pitting. Remember that?

Heh heh heh...

Ama told us about this video she watched of somebody just shoving their armpit into another person's face when he got angry. We then decided to make it a thing, and started "pitting" people in the (what was then called) the TP (St Mungo's chat thread). It was our way of saying hello, or resolving arguments, concluding discussions, and also annoying people.

It got to a stage where a member actually complained to an Admin, saying they didn't like to be pitted. LOLOLOLOL! We got told to tone it down... and only pit the willing.

Still one of the funniest and strangest things that's happened to me on the site.

Okay, easy questions

1. Favourite RP character: Nikolai Vannacutt, mostly cos he's my first made-up character... and I have a crush on him, which is why he's never been able to settle down IC...

2. Favourite ship: You're right! The Shipwrecked Hufflepuffs! I thought that was one of our most brilliant RP moments, that you guys would go to such lengths to amuse me lolol I loved it so much, and the characters were so right for each other. Did you know that I was actually, genuinely upset when it didn't work out?

2) You like to read right, so what's your favorite book(s) aside from Harry Potter series?
3) And why did you titled your baking blog, Ellebug?

Hello there! Nice to meet you too, and yes, I do like to write! I suppose I started writing silly things when I was around 6, when my mother bought me my first journal.

We had just moved to Africa for my dad's work, and I just wrote everything that happened. It became a thing, I started writing fiction for class exercises, and I think between the ages of 8 and 14, I wrote a couple of short stories revolving around this witch called Lalita (who was named after my aunt hehe). My mum kept them, along with my lame illustrations, and I just grew up thinking of myself as a writer.

OKAY:
1) (OMG you bookmarked my site? I looove it! Thanks!) I started baking when I was in secondary school, cos I had a craving for good scones and I couldn't find anywhere in the town we'd moved into. Then I picked it up again cos my favourite cafe to get brownies shut down...
2) This is a very tough question. I am a huge fan of historical romance, fantasy/sci-fi, epic fantasy, historical fiction, etc... I will basically read anything. But currently, my favourite novels are:

• Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke
• Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman
• A Song of Ice and Fire series by GRRM
• The Chrestomanci series by Diana Wynne Jones
• and random YA post-apocalyptic stuff

3) Ellebug is my car's name, lol, as it's a bug. My sister is called Elle, and she gave me a flower and ladybug ornament to put in my car, so I started calling it Ellebug. Then I just named my blog Ellebug, as I love the name, and will probably one day name my bakery that too.

Ooooheerrrr I haven't read fanfiction in years, but I used to scour the internet for epic ones. One of my favourite sites to read fanfiction from is now gone, FOREVERRR. It was called "Slytherin Commons" or something, and featured mostly romance stuff. There was a great one called "Send Fudge" about Draco and Ginny, which I thought was darned cute.

Oooh, and there was this other FANTABULOUS FF called Detained, about Marcus Flint and Katie Bell (hello, don't you love side-character plots?). But the author never finished it... I've been waiting for 5 years...

Besides baking I love to read, write, shop, take pictures, make lists, paint, play on photoshop, and I dunno... anime, tv series, sing... the list goes on.

As for how Hufflepuff I am, I'd say pretty much up there with Professor Sprout. Back when I was RPing actively, I was a Huffie prefect, Quidditch Captain, House Mod, and Head of House. I would also love to come back to the RP as the Hufflepuff House Ghost. I am a Hufflepuff on Pottermore (as if there was any doubt), and have been sorted into Hufflepuff on every website I've joined. I have a Hufflepuff poster in my room, and my colleagues call me The Hufflepuff at work, including my partners and directors lol.

Errrr biggest tip for RP beginners: Read a lot, think about character development, and definitely come up with a fictional character with a distinctly separate personality profile from yourself. You want to be as distant as possible to the characters, so that you can play them as objectively as you can. This way, when you come across characters that don't like yours IC, you don't get all huffy and personal about it, and you're able to just play out the scene as if it were real. Is that okay?

And 2: LOL That avvy has been on my profile for close to 2 years now (seriously, I haven't changed it in 2 years, since I made it!). It's censored cow bits. LOLOL

Oh Kitty... I miss you so much, love you so much more and wish I could talk to you all the time like we used to.

Best memory from OUR old days: our Cat and Nabs graphics shoppe Remember that? I think that was one of my first graphics thread, and we kept it going for a while, and I also will always and forever love that SS t-shirt that you got for me. You know I still wear it at least once every fortnight? I wore it to my company retreat and everyone was amazed at the level of my dorkiness.

Hi Cass. My favourite cake to bake... is a very difficult question... I'm torn between the Butterbeer cupcakes and the chocolate cake with orange chocolate frosting.

I'd say... butterbeer because I love that I have excess butterscotch afterwards, that I usually spread on toast and gorge on... but the chocolate cake as it's my aunt's recipe for the birthday cakes I used to get every year until I was 11.

Question 1: Did you make/do you know who made the graphic in my siggeh? I just got handed it somehow through my Captaincy and, like... there's no credit. And I thought to myself.... Emily, who would've been awesome enough back then to make this? And I answered myself.... Emily, duh! What about NABS?!!??!

Question 2: So... Any plans to reappear in the aforementioned RP anytime soon? and why on EARTH would anyone think you were a SNAKE????

1. Errrr I don't think I made it, it could have been Lizzie, Roro, Jess, and a whole lot of tinkering puffs. We had quite a number lol. Congratulations on the captaincy, by the way!

2. I don't know, I'd love to, but nobody wants to play with me anymore... mostly cos I hardly have the time to follow through on long RPs, so I have to sit and do it in one session. Wanna play? lol

My favourite thing to bake... chocolate cake, or anything with chocolate.

Favourite RP moment is really hard to choose. I'd say the time when I started shipping Tagren Sevens (Stevens...?) and Bucky (Celestina Warbuck). Or Leo Moretti's pillow baby and weird crush on Blaylock. Or when Blaylock, Erikson and De Luca gave Bucky 3 detentions (and took like 200 points from Gyffindor in the process) for tossing their cheesecake out the window.

And if I had control over the HP Universe, I would kill off Harry Potter at the end, and I'm not sure about who I would "make" date... as I'm opposed to pre-shipping (in books, movies, tv shows, RP, and fanfiction)... but I always loved reading Katie Bell and Marcus Flint fanfiction. hehehe

It's really difficult for me to say who my favourite canon character is, possibly because I never really gave much thought to it. I adore Ron, Snape, and Neville, and also in a way sort of admire Narcissa Malfoy, and McGonogall for her strength of will. Then I also really, really love Mrs Weasley, and the twins. How can I choose??

Though to make it easy, I'd say that I have never RPed "with" any of the canon characters. The roleplays I've been involved in have mostly, if not all, been after or before the time of the trio. Although we did sort of play the Marauders, I don't think that counts as much as we made up those characters based on how we felt they would/should behave.
